Saltgrass Steak House

I had a great lunch experience at Saltgrass Steak House. The restaurant wasn’t crowded at all, which made it feel relaxed and comfortable. Everything was super nice, clean, and very inviting. Our server, Amanda, was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. She made some excellent recommendations and really added to the overall experience. The food was delicious across the board. I was there with a few friends, and we all ordered different dishes, and every single one of us agreed the food was really good. One tip: if you order the chocolate cake, be ready to share—it’s huge and definitely meant for more than one person! The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food you get. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. I’ll definitely be back. 👍🥩🍰

We had a good experience, i made reservations for 5 and we were seated shortly after arriving. Every inch of the restaurant seemed to be decorated, they were really going for that western steak house vibe. Animal heads on the wall kinda break my heart but there's plenty to look at. The food was really good. They brought us a loaf of brown bread and to start we ordered the seafood fondue which comes with garlic bread. My only complaint is that bell peppers weren't mentioned in the description and they were in the dish. (Thankfully there weren't that many and i was still able to enjoy the shrimp and crawfish from the dip with only a few side effects).I was surprised my salmon Oscar came with a side and soup or salad. I opted for the brussel sprouts and potato soup. I definitely recomend the Brussels, the soup was good but the texture reminded me of a broken sauce. There was definitely meat in the soup my vegetarians be ware. My boyfriend got the center cut filet with mashed potatoes. He ordered the filet medium well and it came out a beautiful medium rare. Perfect for me, a little under for him. He microwaved it too long the next day turning it to well done and it was still so tender and delicious. My fish could have done with a minute or two less cooking, but it was also delicious. The crab meat and pepper flakes on top really notched it up a level. I've never had breaded asparagus before, but it was coated in a crunchy parmesean that was quite good. The 3 of us split a bottle of decoy cabernet that was really good. Our waiter was friendly, cassual and helpful. There when we needed him, but not overbearing. I'm giving the atmosphere 4 stars because of how cold it was, we were huddled in our coats it felt like the ac was on but it was February. Secondly the lighting was quite dim, two of us were using the flashlights on our phones to see the menue. Still nothing horrible happened and i absolutely recomend this place for the steak, Brussels, salmon Oscar and seafood fondue. 3 people, 1 bottle of wine, 1 appetizer, 3 entres $177 before the tip.

Ryan was our server and he did a fantastic job. The atmosphere is charming, relaxed and the dining room was clean and comfortable. Service stayed attentive and friendly from start to finish. We ordered Beef Tips and Filet Mignon. It was tasty and priced fairly. Friendly tip: they offer daily happy hour food and drink specials, but only in the bar area. Our experience was great and I recommend you give them a try.

​Unbeatable Service, Ask for Eric! ​It was our first time visiting, and Eric made the experience absolutely wonderful. From the moment we sat down, his joyful energy and deep knowledge of the menu stood out. Since the selection is so varied, we had a lot of questions, but Eric was incredibly patient. He took the time to explain everything and even suggested the top choices, which we really appreciated. ​The kitchen staff here is top-tier. I ordered the Texas T-Bone Steak (medium) and it was easily the best I've ever had. It was so juicy, tender, and packed with flavor that it felt like dining at a Michelin-rated restaurant. The mashed potatoes were also a highlight it was creamy and delicious. ​What truly set the night apart was Eric’s attention to detail. He was on top of everything; our drinks were refilled instantly without us even having to ask, and he even helped us pack our leftovers at the end of the night. I’ve never had a server quite like him. I wish every dining experience was this seamless. ​We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to go back!

Highly recommend. Our waitress Ava was friendly & attentive, our food was delicious & priced well. The fried green beans are unique and delicious. Overall atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

The service was absolutely incredible. They were very attentive and accommodating. We asked for a few extras with our meal and they were more than willing. We loved the steak. It was cooked exactly how we like it. All the food came fresh and hot, cooked to perfection. The drinks were very flavorful And exactly how the menu described. We highly recommend the carrot cake. It was superb.We will definitely be back.

Fun atmosphere and lively restaurant! Feels nice and cozy, Western Cowboy style. They should light up the fireplace would be perfect! Service was very friendly, wait was around 45 minutes. (FRIDAY NIGHT) Prices are on the higher end but portion is worth it! I had prime rib and Hubby had a T-bone steak. Very juicy, not dry. Had a drink bill was about $130 for everything:)

Saltgrass saved Christmas Eve for me, thank you to the staff who was working! Having gotten off work later than anticipated, there weren't many restaurants open on the way home. Thankfully we made it here just before close. End-of-shift sales are sometimes upsetting especially when it's time to go, but the staff was friendly and attentive to our last-minute need. The food is very flavorful and good. Will definitely try round 2 with different dishes in the future.

I've been here three times with the meat eaters in my family and I've never been disappointed. The servers are always super great, very attentive. We've had to wait on one occasion, the hostess wasn't really trying to get us seated but the manager definitely had a sense of urgency to find us a table. The fried mushrooms are amazing, with their zesty ranch sauce. The pickles and peppers are okay too. I love their Caesar salad, so well dressed and fresh every single time! I usually get a baked potato and side of mushrooms or broccoli, their flash fried green beans are also excellent. If you get broccoli with cheese the cheese isn't shredded it's a cheese sauce like a Mac n cheese roux and cheese sauce. Also if you want regular asparagus be sure to mention it or else they'll bring you breaded asparagus. I also really want to try their frozen coke with rum, yum! It's a nice restaurant, one of the better, higher end, chain restaurants in Mishawaka/South Bend.

My partner surprised me with tickets to the USC/Notre Dame game!! While I was very nervous, as this was completely planned by him, I was pleasantly surprised with a late lunch/early dinner at Saltgrass!! He even picked both of our meals, to share of course! As a non planner he really knocked it out of the park! We shared their ribs, loaded baked potato, chicken tenders and jumbo shrimp! I got a Cesar salad, he went with the house! Both meals were fantastic!! The ribs were so delicious, we considered ordering one to go, even though we were both super full! I highly recommend the mojitos! I believe is was pomegranate! And their fresh bread! Yum!! We sat at the bar to check all the college games. It was the perfect spot! The GM was beyond nice and even gifted me some beads for the game! Can't wait to be back!

This was my first visit to Saltgrass. Decor and ambiance were very nice - typical of a top notch steak house. My waitress was very attentive (more so than most places I have eaten at). I ordered the 12oz. ribeye cooked medium. It came to the table a perfect medium. However, the steak was much chewier than I expected - not at all tender. The manager offered to make me a new steak, but by then my mood was spoiled. I nibbled on the parts that were less tough and took the rest with me when I left. I threw the leftovers out later at home. The broccoli and the side salad were very good but the main course was a disappointment. I've had much better at Longhorn and Outback.

New to Mishawaka, a cut above the other chain steak houses. The service was great. Not only did our waitress take care of us but the manager and several others came by and checked on us and worked well together. The food was pretty good. Not as good as I remember from the saltgrass in Texas but definitely better than roadhouse and Logan. Have to say I was expecting slightly better. I got the ribeye bone in and it was pretty good and a health serving, along with the wedge salad and mashed potatoes. Wife got the filet. And the food was good. Just I guess I was expecting amazing. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a saltgrass from decor to how busy on the first week of opening. We'll have to go back in a few months and see if still keeping up the standard. Not the best steak in town but probably best value. They do have some good drinks and signature cocktails.

We visited SaltGrass in South Bend, with a large group, and the service was exceptional. Manager Kerry was incredibly attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly for our party. The staff was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Thank you!! Highly recommend this restaurant for both great food and excellent service!!

I've been sitting at the bar for 12 mins. I haven't even been offered a glass of water. She's waited both gentlemen next to me even brought one another glass of wine. I like Saltgrass din Texas but I will not return to this one.

I have to say this is the worst experience I've ever had at any steakhouse. The steak was overcooked. I asked for medium and since I don't like to send food back at restaurants I just ate it atleast it wasn't undercooked. The server was nice at first, but then one of the people at our table said that her food was burnt and though they did offer she didn't wanna wait for another steak. The Manager came over and asked my friend to cut her steak in another spot so he could see if it was red in the middle. I'm thinking excuse me there's no red throughout the whole thing because even the outside is burned. Then he says well I don't have my glasses on anyway so I can't see if it's red anyway. So what was the point? After that the waitress' demeanor changed significantly. She brought back all of our bills and handed all 6 to one person at our table and laid 6 pens in the middle of the table. I've never seen anything like that!

This place was fantastic! It was definitely busy so come a bit on the earlier side. I sat at the bar top being served by one of the best bartenders I've encountered. Mia. Super entertaining, charismatic, and making jokes with other customers. Perfect. Also my dinner was very very delicious and I would highly recommend getting the steak with asparagus.

Happy hour was awesome!! Great deals and good food! It was busy, but our server took good care of us. The ambiance was fun and upbeat!

We have gone numerous times to this restaurant and cannot say enough about the quality service we got each time. This last time Kadence was our server and we'd give her an A+. But honestly everyone deserves recognition, servers, managers, bus boys always have a smile and ask if they can help you. We always get the bone-in ribeye. Phenomenal. The sides are great. Desserts sooo good. This is definitely our go-to place when we have a taste for steak!

Amanda our server was the best! Competent, professional, attentive. We ordered filet medium but it came medium well and seemed tough. Amanda took our steaks back .. the replacement came with new sides as well as meat cooked as expected and very tender! Worth the wait

Ryan gave us an amazing experience. I never had to ask for anything. Refills came at perfect time and such a great personality. You can tell he enjoys his job. Kudos food was wonderful.

Our second time here. Top notch service from Christian. He was very attentive and personable. Meal was good. My partner says the Old Fashion is the best around.

Food is great, but this is the most uncomfortable restaurant I've been in for years. Avoid busy hours. It's table maximized in a large room with a hardwood ceiling which makes it so loud you can't even hear your server.

We visited, it was busy, we sat at bar. Had a wine and cocktail. Ordered steak- my husband had Ribeye and I had Filet, it was alright! Nothing spectacular that we couldn't do at home for a lot cheaper and definitely not as great as we have had at other restaurants. We both walked away and said Texas Road house is better and they have way better bread- was not impressed with the bread and butter at all here. We didn't get the hype. Nothing stood out different with their steaks, like a good charbroil, a great seasoning of their own- a butter topper--- nothing---so it was pretty basic! I would go back but try something else besides steaks off the menu next time, that's how unimpressed I was! Service seemed fine! We did notice the couple next to us had rare bloody steaks that they had asked for well done- hostess came and took them back!

First time eating at Saltgrass! Our waitress Hailey was very attentive and gave us great information about what we should try. The thick cut bacon app was amazing. The steak tips were very tender and the amount of mashed potatoes was more than adequate! My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken and loved every bit of it. We were there before 4 for a late lunch and it was very quiet and enjoyable.

Tried this place for the first time, and we went with some friends, (4 adults and 1 toddler). Food took forever, and it wasn't that busy. Two meals had to be sent back, one undercooked and one cold. We definitely had a very bad experience.

Service was fantastic and the food was great. We had the brisket queso and chips for an appetizer, it was great. We both had the 16oz. ribeye, cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. I had the fried onions for a side and I recommend it. My wife had the smoked mac and cheese and it was the only disappointment. It just wasn't good. She had a Texas tea for a mixed drink and it was the best long Island iced tea ever.

My party and I were seated by the restrooms. When we asked to be moved, we were told that our server only had tables in that area. When we decided to leave the restaurant altogether no one there was at all concerned with "customer satisfaction". We left without ordering and will NEVER return! We will be sure to tell everyone we know!

The food was excellent. The portions were huge and delicious. The service was wonderful. All of our needs were met. Absolute Perfection. Ambiance was wonderful for a Monday afternoon during lunch. Awesome.

This was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. I'm not sure if it was because it was the first month they were open, but this place operated like a well oiled machine and the staff made you feel like family. I had the Texas T-Bone which was amazing and cooked to perfection. We will 100% be back.

Was at the restaurant recently, and excited about having a steak. The place was almost empty, but it took several minutes for the hostess to check for seating. We were seated by the bathroom, and when we asked to be moved, the waitress was extremely rude about it, but she could move us. She never came back. As we hadn't ordered yet, we left. Terrible service. We went to Longhorn and had a great experience.!

Food and service were fantastic! We bave been recommending this restaurant to everyone ever since!

Date night meal. The food was good. It was steak house fine dining. The prices were really spendy, but the food wasn't really high end enough to justify it. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine. It just wasn't $75 for two people fine. We had a patty melt, brisket burger, fried pickles, and two mixed drinks. An Old-fashioned and a Southside 45. Drinks were mediocre and pretty watered down. The fried pickles were absolutely perfect. I really liked the deconstructed presentation of the patty melt. Made it feel fancy... but still it's just a steak house patty melt. No need to up price it so high.

The food was great and our steaks were done to perfection. This was my wife and I 's first time in this establishment and we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was still cozy even though they were packed on a Wednesday night. Prices were what we expected and for the quality of food, well worth it. We will return.

I've gone to the Houston location and I knew what to expect and was not disappointed. Margarita, Ceasar salad, rattlers, and salmon. Superb service hot food and friendly staff!

Want to celebrate saltgrass with the entire family for my sister's birthday. The food was some of the best we've had in Mishawaka. And beyond that, our server Christian was absolutely wonderful! He was very attentive and made sure everything was done properly and that we had a great experience.

Waited 15 minutes after waiting.5 minutes to be seated. No server ever came to our table l, however there were 4 talking at the host stand the whole time we were waiting. We.decided to leave because we were tired of waiting. I can only assume the food was going.to be just as disappointing as the service. BTW it was 4:30 pm.and it.was nowhere near busy. 7 servers had maybe 9 tables in the whole place.

We went to Saltgrass on 03/27 expecting a great meal for my son in law's birthday. service was good very nice waitress, but the place was so loud we could not carry on a conversation. our salad was good but when our 6 oz filet came three of us had them two were so cold the butter on top would not melt at all. The sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese were also cold. we told our waitress and she got the manager. The manager came and we were not happy with her attitude but she took the cold food back and when it returned it was warm enough that we could eat some of it. My daughter took her filet home to cook it herself. Very disappointing and if we go back will definitely not get the filet.

This was our first visit to Saltgrass Steak House. When we were shown to our table I noticed the decorations and ambiance. It was overwhelming but nice. However there was a very large steer head mounted on the wall near our table. It kept looking at me while I was eating. I felt the size and appearance of an animal which was providing the dinner meat was inappropriate at best and weird. Our waitress visited our table almost immediately with menus and water. The selection of dinners was good with, of course mostly steak dinners. However there was also chicken, various salads, as well as other entrees such as fish, and sides. I had the chicken Santa Fe with a cup of soup (salad was also a choice) and a loaded baked potato. The potato soup was delicious and thick, the baked potato was huge and not for somebody watching their weight, and the Chicken was excellent. A loaf of bread and butter was served prior to ordering and it was very tasty. Having said all of that, the pricing was higher than I expected. The noise level was very high which made it hard to have conversation, and the air conditioning was really cranked up which made it somewhat uncomfortable.

Great green beans came with my steak. A little pricey. Try to get there for the lunch/early dinner menu. Also, a kids menu is available. We forgot to ask.

We have eaten at at this Saltgrass location a few times. The last one was the best. My husband and I each ordered a dinner salad. I had the grilled chicken salad and he had the salmon Caesar salad. The food and service were excellent. My salad, though simple enough, was perfection. Every time we have eaten here our salad bowls have always been chilled. It makes all of the difference in the world. I think they must start out frozen because mine was still cold after I was finished eating. We have had a problem here or there at other visits but they have always been adequately addressed as soon as we mention them. The menu has a great variety of items and there are many quality affordable options. If you leave this place hungry or unhappy it is your own fault.

Bruxelles sprouts, fried or not, should not leave a burnt taste in your mouth. The reaction to that assertion was mere indifference. Medium now equals medium-rare, which wasn't a completely terrible thing, but it may be for others. Loaded mashed potatoes were excellent. Staff was attentive and minus the aforementioned indifference, very accommodating. Was a busy Saturday night when we dined, and the restaurant was well run and clean.

We came with friends for a double date night. We always love the New York Strip steak. Service is always 100% on par, thank you to our waiter, Christian, for being so helpful tonight with beer choices.

A smaller menu mostly geared for red meat lovers. Service was perfect with managers and food runners checking pretty constantly.

Love this place. Great food. It was my first time there. I will go back. The manager Dawn even came by our table to make sure it was all good.

Our server was nice and was very knowledgeable but they never came back and asked us for refills. We asked for lemons for our tea and never got them. I ordered the 8oz sirloin well done and it came out medium rare. I asked for it to be sent back and when it came back out it was still too red for my liking. My mother ordered the ribeye rare and that came out medium well. She also got the house salad and received the wrong dressing asked for. My brother ordered a cheeseburger with nothing else on it but it came out with onions, lettuce, pickles, and tomato. The vibe of the restaurant was cool but we will not be going back. It's not worth the price.

We made a reservation on New Years eve, (and they were not busy) The experience was our first for my wife and I, and 2 friends. We had not tried this place and thought it would be a great experience. WE WERE SURE WRONG. My wife's chicken on her $17.00 salad was burnt and dry. My ribeye was very small, very fatty and under cooked. Our friends' filets were both cooked wrong. By the time they brought my wife's chicken back, (15 minutes) We were almost done eating. The food is definitely not worth the price. The ambiance is very nice but it not worth the price and hassle of a good time and meal.

I was excited to try Saltgrass and while service was fantastic, the quality of the food definitely did not justify the prices. The grilled pineapple margarita was great and I definitely recommend it. The bread and butter that they serve is very basic and not really all that good. The rolls and cinnamon butter at Texas Roadhouse are far better. The queso fresco with brisket appetizer was decent but was served with stale, chewy tortilla chips that seemed like they may have gotten wet at some point. For $14.99 for the queso appetizer, I would have expected homemade chips or at the very least, not stale, soggy/chewy chips. Salad and loaded baked potato soup were delicious. Unfortunately our steaks were not cooked the way we ordered them (medium-well was served medium-rare instead and medium was served well done). For the price of the dinners, the steaks should be cooked to the customer preference. Overall, while service and drinks were good, I was not impressed with the food. Texas Roadhouse has far better overall quality of food and we will definitely opt for Texas Roadhouse in the future over Saltgrass.

We had a delicious meal today at Saltgrass in Mishawaka, Indiana. Our server, Adrien, was a delight. She was very attentive during our time, never missing a beat. Thanks, we will be back!

First experience was 5*. Second was a totally different experience. Service was great food very different and mediocre. We will give a 3rd try and see what we get. May be our last visit.
