"The Salty Pearl makes the case that every day should be a casual wine and oyster day (though, they’re only open four days a week). At this Jack London seafood restaurant, you’ll eat oysters that are fresh as hell, crudo covered in citrusy, herb-infused olive oil, and clams casino overflowing with bacon. There’s also a great cold lobster roll that’s way more meat-packed than your average lobster roll, and a burger dripping with cheese. Still, you’re coming here for those bivalves and crudo, and to spend time with some pet nat in a space that feels like a tasteful nautical clubhouse, complete with a smooth playlist and lots of natural light." - Lani Conway

It was a very busy Thursday night. We got there late, about 8:00. We waited about 45 minutes, table for 7. We ore ordered and ate. I had the blackened grouper sandwich with fries. The flavor was great. I've never had grouper before, the texture was good with the exception of a couple of bites that was a little tough. All in all we enjoyed everything.

We tried oysters for the very first time, and they were actually delicious! Fair warning: If you're a first timer like me, texture is strange, but flavor is good! (Note, tried grilled, not raw ones) Now, for the establishment, it was an AWESOME little place. It came highly recommended by some locals and did not disappoint! The fried okra was absolutely phenomenal. Best I've ever had. And you have to try out their key lime pie. It was downright decadent. Shoutout to Riley, who is new but surviving the endless stream of customers. The manager (I assume anyway, I actually have no idea who he was 🤣) was super amazing in taking care of us and helping out the staff. I love seeing that in any level of leadership. Overall, exemplary experience 🤗

Google
Excellent food and service, we couldn’t have been more pleased to find this hidden gem. We had a dozen raw oysters and they were so fresh and delicious and served with plenty of lemons. Such a treat! There are two outdoor seating areas (one with walls and a roof, the other with shade umbrellas) and two restrooms accessible from outside. The facilities were very clean and well stocked. The prices were very reasonable, thank you we will return!

Google
Great experience. We got right in and had drinks and order the dozen raw oysters and the tuna dip. Both were amazing. Oysters fresh and tasty and the smoked tube dip was equally impressive. Great smokey flavor served with buttered French bread. For our main dish I had the lobster roll which was buttery, sweet and delicious served with home cut fries. Delicious! My spouse had 3 lbs of crab claws and they were perfect. Sweet and delicious. Fast friendly service and even better food. We’ll be back during our stay for sure.

Google
We had the fried shrimp and fried oysters. The shrimp were really good, but the oysters - they were outstanding! Most restaurants overcook shrimp, and oysters, but not the Salty Pearl. I was afraid this late in the season the oysters would be small and tasteless, but they were large, salty and moist. Kaylin was a fantastic server. We had our small dog with us and she brought crackers and a bowl of water for him. Outside seating was very pleasant. I can highly recommend this place.

Google
We stopped here after the place next door had a 45 min wait. This place only had a wait for the outdoor seating, which we didnt care about. The waitress was friendly and our drinks came fast. I love their fries. The po boys are loaded with shrimp. The fried oysters were pretty good. Boom boom shrimp was tasty.

Google
Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Grouper was on point and fried oyster salad so good. I was a little disappointed in the quantity of 0ysters-6. Service was great! Having moved to Texas from Pensacola, I was delighted with the hush puppies. It was great to be home!!

Google
Delicious! Fun! Comfortable Dining! Do not let the initial smell hit you wrong. This is what the a fresh fish markets smell like, but once this passes, your patience will be rewarded.

Yelp
5-Star+ Experience! The staff was absolutely friendly, attentive, and gracious. We arrived with 30 minutes left to go in Happy Hour and the staff provided suggestions, was informative with answering our questions. (Boom-Boom Shrimp was awesome!) The food was delicious, perfectly made, with generous portions. Prices were reasonable and the Key Lime Pie was good too! We will come back.

Yelp
What a great place to spend a relaxing Friday evening!! Get there early because indoor seating is limited and fills quickly. Food is very typical FL fare so keep this in mind in case you're looking for something on the healthier side. Although there are many grilled fish options. The food was good and the service better. Very good drink selection considering this is a relatively small place.

Laurie M.

Yelp
Our first time here, came on a recommendation from a friend. We were very pleased....good food, service & cold beer! We ordered the blackened shrimp platter, grouper bites & lobster bisque. We'll definitely be back & will tell others about this place!

Yelp
Even though my wife's not a big seafood lover, we decided to try the salty pearl. Fairly seafood centric menu, but they do have a few items for land lovers. I opened with a cup of gumbo, which I must say was absolutely delicious! I've been meaning to try sautéed crab claws, so I finally gave it a shot. They came with hush puppies, coleslaw, and sweet potato fries. Although delicious, they were a little bit of work and probably not worth the price. My wife enjoyed her grouper tacos. It's a little odd having mixed drinks in plastic Cups, but that's what it is. We sat at the bar and had great service! Thank you so much. Pretty basic spot. Next time we would do a better job picking seats at the bar so we're not directly across from the dude shucking oysters.

Yelp
We stopped in at the Salty Pearl Raw Bar to have some Raw Oysters on the recommendation of a friend, and I have to say, we were not disappointed! We arrived during Happy hour and ordered a dozen raw oysters for $15 and the Boom Boom Shrimp for $8, both came out quickly and looked amazing! The oysters were fantastic and the shrimp...wow! The flavor was excellent and the portion size was off the charts! There were seven of us total in our party ordering food and of course we were drinking, and there were great drink specials for happy hour as well. The staff was amazing, our waitress was so friendly, very nice and courteous, she took great care of us, can't say enough good things about her! I only wished I had taken pics of the food before we devoured it!! We will be back You should definitely give them a try, the Salty Pearl is a real gem!

Angie A.

Yelp
I love this place! The bbq shrimp is so rich and delicious and the lobster roll (although not a local seafood) is so good! (Lobster roll not available everyday) There was almost too much meat on the lobster roll! (See pic). And I can't recommend the spicy margarita enough! The servers are always friendly and informative. How can you beat a casual ambiance with mostly outdoor picnic table seating? Highly recommend !

Sharon C.

Yelp
Soooo disappointed! This place was recommended by several People! I purchased a boil! Got the reds verses gulf shrimp! I'm sure they could have been fabulous. However they were very overdone, corn was as well! Potato's were good. But I could have prepared those at home! Crab legs were ok! Waitress was great! But there has to be somewhere that has properly cooked books! My friend purchased the fried shrimp and it was great! So...... get the fried DON'T purchase the boil! I've been here twice my 1st snd my last!

Brad P.

Yelp
We got here for an early Friday night dinner and the place wasn't packed yet but it was when we left. I had the boom boom shrimp all (HH price $8) and the crab claw app with some hush puppies and my wife doesn't eat seafood so had the smash burger. The fried claws were solid but the large pile of shrimp was the strong my meal. The puppies were also very good. My wife really enjoyed her burger and fries. The service was very good.

Tanya C.

Yelp
great people, fabulous food and good location! why a four star not a five? the bathroom facilities. i enjoy a small diver type atmosphere and this place is spot on BUT you do have to go outside of the main area of the restaurant for bathroom facilities. i'm sure during the summer the plastic yawning surrounding the patio comes down in the area surrounding the bathroom area but even then it's a one seater. no a great setup for oysters and beer. if oysters aren't your thing there are plenty of other menu options. servings are large and everything we had was hot and fresh!

Mike C.

Yelp
This place is a fav for great seafood Especially Grouper and Oysters Happy Happy hour 3-5 Look at these $8.00 popcorn shrimp

Kathryn S.

Yelp
Sautéed crab claws . Got the shrimp tacos to go. Service always 5. Slow season. But still was pretty busy.

Jessi B.

Yelp
Great service!! The fried fish tacos were tasty. A great spot to meet our friends that we randomly ran into on our vacation.

Becky B.

Yelp
A friend took me once my last trip-so I took my friend! Service is amazing food even better! Plan on going back ASAP! They have in door and outdoor seating with fun atmosphere and a special little server. I can't remember her name! Top-notch across-the-board!

Dana B.

Yelp
Amazing service, delicious fresh food & Veterans Day specials. Super clean & very friendly staff! Absolutely love this place!!!

Rosie R.

Yelp
Had the oyster poor boy. Well cooked and full of oysters sat in the heated patio. Great venue

Jonathan V.

Yelp
Amazing food!! And kickass service to boot. Drinks are also great, loved the atmosphere, loved our server who was busting her tail and so good.

Travis S.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in Perdido. Forget the tourist traps of cobalt and florabama head over the bridge and settle up at the raw bar and have some oysters. Very good raw and grilled. Really good fried as well. Full menu and a nice happy hour also. Fresh fish can come blackened fried or grilled. Fantastic fries. Best I've had in Perdido by far. They sell their house made hot sauce and it's some of the best I've ever had. Spicy but sweet and the perfect amount of twang. Really nice staff. Huge patio for outdoor seating as well. Really cool ambiance and decor inside. Don't walk, run to this rather new restaurant in Perdido. Fair prices and some of the best food in town.

Leigh W.

Yelp
Great local seafood restaurant right under the bridge to Perdido Key. We came here twice during Thanksgiving week and then two weeks later when we visited Orange Beach. The food is fresh, the portions are generous and the servers make this place the best. Get there super early for a spot in their covered patio and order some good food.

Brannon B.

Yelp
Great little place. We got the chargrilled oyster sampler and they were really good and spicy. I had the blackened grouper sandwich and it was good. Wife had shrimp tacos. Everything came out fresh and hot. The service was also good.

Bart J.

Yelp
Great start for this newish eatery tucked under the bridge in Perdido Key. We happened to hit them on happy hour when we visited and were treated to $15 a dozen oysters. They were cold and briny. We also ordered royal reds and crab claws. Both were good but the shrimp outshined the claws that had a little too much batter and were slightly overcooked. Coldest beer in town as I enjoyed some Corona. Very simple place with a good size outdoor deck and a few inside tables, which we chose on our visit. Service was friendly and helpful and we have it on the list for a return visit for some of their baked oysters. Recommend a visit.

Vickie M.

Yelp
Delicious crab bisque and grilled shrimp tacos. The fries are the best side dish ever!

Sean R.

Yelp
Great food! The fried shrimp is excellent and the hamburger is the only non-seafood on the menu and it is good. Love their fries.

Maggie J.

Yelp
Best raw oysters I've had in ages! And so affordable! And fresh green salad. A piece of key lime pie to go!

Michelle V.

Yelp
Excellent spot for a fresh meal in a casual environment. We sat outside and enjoyed an early dinner on the patio. Service was prompt and friendly, and food was super fresh and hot when it arrived. Everything we had was amazing. We will be back.

Tedd H.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant and it was excellent! Started with the garlic Parmesan grilled oysters and fried crab claws. Then had the grilled shrimp tacos and twister French fries. The food was great and the service was outstanding. If you're in the area be sure to stop in and give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Very casual and laid back atmosphere, with a beach feel.

Shady C.

Yelp
This little gem of a place is great. The service was exceptional and the food was so so good. We tried the Steamer selections with Crab legs, sausage and royal red shrimp. Don't forget to order Fried Okra it's heavenly.

Pat M.

Yelp
Delicious oysters, both raw and fried. We are from Missouri and I eat oysters like crazy when we come to the Gulf. This is the best I have had in all the years we have been coming. I want to thank Kelly for telling us about Salty Pearl. Kelly is a local girl we met on the beach. God bless you Kelly!

Meghan H.

Yelp
BEST oysters in Pensacola/Perdido Key!! If you're a raw oyster fan, you've got to stop by. These were the largest oysters I've ever had in my life and they shuck them right in front of you (which used to be common but isn't so much anymore). We also had grouper, blackened shrimp tacos, pounds of crap legs... I was just too excited eating to get too many photos Definitely recommend - service, local and ambiance were all great. Unassuming little place right off the water and perfect for a casual lunch or dinner.

Teresa C.

Yelp
Cute little place with picnic tables . The grouper sandwich did not disappoint and the fries were great . Steamed reds were fresh and delicious . Service was fantastic . Hope I have time to stop back one more time before I leave

April A.

Yelp
Greg did a great job as our server. The grilled oysters were so delicious. Hubby had grouper tacos and he loved the sauce. The fish was perfectly fried. My grouper salad was great as well. There was a large grouper filet that was executed nicely. The ranch tasted homemade. We enjoyed our lunch here and we are glad we stopped by today.

Paula W.

Yelp
Our favorite spot at the beach ! Love sitting outside . Staff is like visiting with old friends . Food is always great. First night we got boom boom shrimp and chargrilled oysters and 1/2 dozen raw !

Callie S.

Yelp
One of the best meals we had in Perdido Key. The fish was fresh. The prices were decent.

Carrie J.

Yelp
We got the chargrilled oysters and they use the real parmesan! They were so delicious and perfectly cooked! Coleslaw was good too! We got the happy hour boom boom shrimp but didnt really enjoy them. Overcooked amd the sauce has a heavy flavor. I like the lighter, fruity spicy flavor we have gotten at other places better. We will return here for the oysters and friendly staff.

David S.

Yelp
First time at the Salty Pearl Raw Bar. I had the crab legs, corn, sausage and new potatoes and it was delicious. I don't think I would do the extra butter they offer for $4 more because they didn't need anything but the butter they came with. Service was really good and everything came out perfect. Give them a try!

Ara F.

Yelp
Great oysters! After reading all the reviews we had to stop by and try them, and were not disappointed. Fresh, cold, all you can ask for. We didn't order anything else, but everyone was eating crab that looked good so we may have to come back before heading home.

Michelle V.

Yelp
I was on the hunt for oysters and stopped by. The food was pretty good except for the Chargrilled Oyster Sampler(dozen) It comes with 3 different flavors on 4 oysters and I just felt like they tasted all the same. The raw oysters were good, no fishy taste/smell. The fried shrimps were huge & delicious. I've never seen that before. Lol. The service was good & I loved how they had entertainments like corn hole and etc on the side for customers.

Rachel F.

Yelp
so excited about this new restaurant !! super cute outdoor seating area.. (i heard they are going to be having live music ~ woot!) the food was delicious !! my mom and i split an appetizer & the fish platter. (it was more than enough food for two ~ we were both stuffed) i love creole bbq shrimp and theirs did not disappoint. the bread was delicious as well. the fish, hush puppies, and fries were superb. great prices on beer !! we talked with the owner who was very nice as well. i think this restaurant will do great! i will definitely be going back soon :-)

Chesie R.

Yelp
We absolutely love the Salty Pearl. The service is top notch. Shannon is our favorite. The owner is fantastic. We love that they will prepare any fish that you caught. This place is hands down our go to restaurant! Food, service, atmosphere is all wonderful.

Jane A.

Yelp
An awesome place!! Service, food, great drinks and cold beer. Happy hour every day 3-5. Totally recommend!

Christy R.

Yelp
We stopped in this place and were so glad we did! They did a fantastic job with the decor, the staff are super friendly and engaging and the prices are very reasonable. It's just a half mile from Big Lagoon State Park and Campground. We ordered two dozen oysters and had four beers. Menu is simple but offers different options for those who do not eat seafood, including chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. They have a nice variety of beers and offer liquor options as well. Highly recommend.

Betsy S.

Yelp
Excellent crab legs, and appetizers okra and grouper bites!! Excellent! Even the s.ash burger...mmmmm good!

Michael R.

Yelp
The Salty Pearl looks unassuming but was easily my favorite restaurant we visited in Pensacola. The food was rustic and fresh and the service was amazing, and way better than a lot of "fancier" restaurants we also visited. I highly recommend taking a stop here if you're looking for seriously good seafood and a good time without any fussiness or stuffiness.

Chris B.

Yelp
Amazing new restaurant in town with high-quality food and low prices, I look forward to a new regular place to enjoy great food and a good atmosphere. Though the inside of the Salty Pearl Raw Bar is a little small, they have made good use of the space and it doesn't feel overcrowded or loud, even when every seat has been filled. There is also a large covered seating area outside if you're looking for some fresh air (this outside area will likely be much more enjoyable when it's not so hot outside). This was my first visit to the restaurant, but it will not be my last. The bartender (Chris) was very helpful and kept all those sitting at the bar feeling welcomed. The food came out fast even though it was a busy night -- the raw oysters were a perfect start, followed by some Garlic Parmesan oysters to snack on, and then had the Wagyu smash burger to completely fill me up (I forgot to get a picture of the burger). I also saved a little room for the Key Lime pie which was some of the best in the area. Already looking forward to my next visit to enjoy the company of the friendly staff and make my way through the rest of the menu. I have no doubt that the rest of the food made here is going to be top-notch.

Judi P.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The staff is great and really knowledgeable. We had both raw and chargrilled oysters. So tasty! Had a few ruby red shrimp from the steamer and they did not disappoint! Finally, shared a platter of fried shrimp. Do NOT miss out on the pearl butter! Dip the fries in it. Trust me on this one. This place was so good we came back for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed their fried grouper sandwich and key lime pie. This is the kind of place I dream about when I'm stuck in the grey Midwest all winter.

Nora S.

Yelp
Great food!!! One of the best places to eat and the employees/ owners are so friendly and provide wonderful service. I have not had anything at this restaurant that was not excellent... not exaggerating, I can't even pick a favorite because the food is so good.

Mark B.

Yelp
Really cool, authentic place! Great and friendly staff, cold beer & best raw oysters you'll ever eat! Royal reds, lobster poor boy and more. Big beer selection! Coming back !

Jessie T.

Yelp
The food is amazing! The service is amazing! I love this place. I recommend all of the chargrilled oysters, steamers, burger, and gumbo. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Russell H.

Yelp
Went there last night and had a dozen raw oysters. They were tiny,I regularly get larger one in West Texas. My entree was grilled swordfish. It was good size, but overcooked and dry. The ambiance was really nice, and my waitress was very good and friendly. I don't recommend this restaurant

John T.

Yelp
The raw oysters were great. The grouper tocos are amazing. The service made me feel like I was at home. I highly recommend The Salty Pearl
