First time trying Salute on the beach and it was great! Nice beach view outdoor seating and atmosphere all around. Mark the Host was so friendly and fun, he’s the best! Jesus was our server and he also took great care of us! Literally everything we tried was soooooo delicious! The fresh bread they bring to the table started off our meal the right way…so fresh and tasty! You can tell the chef put a lot of thought into these menu items. You gotta try the calamari! Might be the best I ever had; it’s sautéed instead of breaded and has a spicy red sauce, we loved it! Make sure you get the key lime pie for dessert! Thanks for an awesome time!

We got seated right away but as a wedding party was also being seated. We were forgotten about until a nice guy came by and asked if anybody had gotten with us. We got water and drinks along with food order quickly after that. NOW...the food was amazing! We both had a special - Lobster Pasta and The Grouper...AMAZING!

Google
This place was awesome! The folks greet you at the door and they exude positivity! The bar is just what you'd expect for being on the beach, but is perfect! The food is delish and portion sizes are healthy. Got the lasagna and the yellow tail snapper. Both were awesome! Parking is plentiful on days when the beach isn't crowded. Highly recommend!

Salute! On The Beach offers a truly relaxed Key West dining experience, blending good food with unbeatable views. Nestled right on the beach, the location alone makes it worth a visit — you can feel the ocean breeze, hear the waves, and watch the sun dip low while enjoying your meal. It’s casual yet scenic, perfect for a laid-back evening out. I ordered the pesto pasta with Salute’s vegetables, which was vibrant, fresh, and satisfying without feeling too heavy. I paired it with a stout and a Bradley beer, both of which complemented the dish nicely and added to the mellow, beachside vibe. For my daughter, we ordered noodles with red sauce and cheese, a simple and comforting plate that she really enjoyed. Service was quick and efficient — we didn’t have to wait long for anything, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout. The overall experience was easygoing and enjoyable, ideal for families or anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed meal just steps from the water. Definitely a great spot to unwind with good food, drinks, and that classic Florida Keys backdrop.

This spot was an absolute gem! Tucked away by a peaceful public beach, it offered a welcome escape from the usual tourist bustle. We thoroughly enjoyed both the mussel pasta and the filet mignon; they were delicious! If you're looking for a tranquil beachside meal away from the noise, this place is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for the occasional rooster strutting through the dining area; a minor quirk, but not the restaurant's fault.

Google
Walking our dog and found this place on the beach. It had outdoor seating and dog friendly, so we stopped for lunch. Server was friendly and fast. Seeing how I was in paradise, I had a cheeseburger and a cold draft beer. She had a snapper sandwich. Both came with pot salad. The food didn't take long. My burger was just the just I like it, med/rare. Price were average for the area.

Google
We had the blackened mahi sandwich and the mahi and shrimp pasta in a shrimp tomato sauce. We definitely recommend. We sat outside with our feet in the sand watching a volleyball game with a beautiful view. This place was recommended to us by a local.

Google
Great restaurant for a really good dinner on vacation. All of the food we ordered was delicious. The live music on the beach was nice and we had a beautiful view at sunset. Staff were friendly. I really like that you could get reservations ahead of time online, we were seated almost immediately when we got there. Would recommend!

Yelp
What a delightful discovery! This Key West gem truly feels like heaven. Our lunch commenced with the refreshing Caprese salad, a harmonious blend of ripe tomatoes, the mozzarella was amazing. The waiter told me all the food is the same as their other restaurant blue heaven. Meanwhile, the other guests savored the gluten-free white bean soup, as it was a bit windy that day. As for my main course, I indulged in the grouper with pasta, a special that left me utterly impressed. The tender grouper, perfectly cooked, alongside al dente pasta, in a light cream sauce. And the best part? This establishment is incredibly dog-friendly, making it a haven for both foodies and their furry companions. Without a doubt, I'll be back to savor more of this culinary paradise.

Yelp
Wonder fine casual dining on the Clarence S Higgs beach in Key West. Both Richelle and Dad got the lobster special, amazing, Florida's lobster, scallops, and a vodka sauce. I usually don't like vodka sauce but this one was different and I liked it. I got the grouper special, the sauce had a heavy lime flavor that at first I was not sure I would enjoy, but once I had some it completely brought a bright and acidic touch to the grouper. Service is very attentive and friendly. My dark and stormy drink was a good combination with the grouper.

Yelp
Seriously delish! The four of us enjoyed our seafood dishes, pasta, drinks, and key lime pie. Jake was our server and took excellent care of us! This is going to be bookmarked in our top dining log. We will be back.

Yelp
Our first trip to Key West and so glad we stopped here for lunch on the way to the airport!! Great drinks, kid friendly food options and fresh yummy food! I had key lime pie at another location during our trip and didn't think I liked key lime pie, glad I tried it at Salute.... It was so good!!!

Yelp
The food was fresh and delicious. The service was par at best. We were charged for 2 mile high key lime pies, but we only ordered (and received) one. The servers all seemed overwhelmed. A nice spot on the beach but the people really make or break a touristy spot like this.

Yelp
We set up to the restaurant at 5:15 with no reservations we seated immediately in the outdoor seating John our waiter was s wonderful. We had the fresh calamari an appetizer along with fresh baked Italian bread. Calamari was crisp and fresh. For dinner, and my daughter had the Key West shrimp Alfredo. It came out hot and steaming with shrimp was tender and outstanding. My son had the lasagna special. It was as good as anything you get in a big city borough. My wife and mother had the lobster special it was served with fresh Caribbean lobster scallops and a lemon caper sauce. I have a grouper special. The fish was fantastic. The grenadine sauce was not my favorite, but that was more due to my taste palette. Not the quality the food I was given I would highly recommend this Italian gem next to the beach.

Yelp
We stayed at the condos around the corner from Salute so our first dinner in Key West was at Salute. We sat at the bar and were attended to by DELIGHTFUL DeeDee the bartender. We both ordered the yellowfin snapper which was delicious. I strongly recommend reservations unless you don't mind eating later than 7. We actually gave up a 730 reservation to eat dinner at the bar and it was so worth it! DeeDee served us with a friendly smile a happy disposition., we definitely will go back again! Thank you to DeeDee for her excellent service!

Yelp
Very good food and excellent service. Right on the beach and a great place to grab a bite to eat and then watch the sunset. This place is reasonably priced for what you get. Outstanding steak and the homemade cookie and ice cream sandwich is amazing! When in doubt, you need to check it out!
google avatar

Yelp
A long March down Duval and then some to get here, nonetheless it was cool enough to sit outside and watch volleyball with some pineapple juice gazpacho and key lime pie -- spaced out, not all at once you dummies). Too warm for a beer but small price to pay for the vibe

Yelp
Salute and Blue Heaven are connected. The web site puts it best when they say Salute is "Combining the dining excellence of well-loved sister-restaurant Blue Heaven with the atmosphere of a lovely beach-side cafe, Salute!" There really are not many places I know where you can have food this good and be wearing beach clothing. (I am being generous when I say clothing) I've been to a lot of beach restaurants, but they normally have hamburgers and some type of fried seafood from a freezer bag. Solute had fresh local fish and produce along with breads. A welcome change from a hot dog stand on a beach that could be considered a questionable life choice. The food was exceptional. The presentation was spot on, the taste was too good not to share, and the the portions were just the right size. I cannot say enough about the staff. They were there filling waters, taking orders, removing dishes as well as any staff we visited while in Key West, or anywhere for that matter. I meant to take down the name of young woman who took care of us, she really did an exceptional job and became a part of our vacation as she went out of here way to ask how the trip had gone so far and to give us a few places to visit next time. Next time, or anytime, you are in Key West make sure to stop by this wonderful Key West Treasure. Also, for the record, I am not a Key Lime Pie fan. Sorry Key West it just isn't my favorite. Solute's was the exception to the rule. The meringue really blended will with it.

Yelp
Great host, good service. Right on Higgs Beach. Conch soup with the Grouper special. Lots of bread. Great margarita

Yelp
Food and service were fantastic! Such a fun atmosphere and right on the beach! Friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this gem!

Yelp
Lovely but hot & sweaty meal basically RIGHT on Higgs Beach in Key West!. The host is so super, great personality and helpful. It was so hot the week we were in KW but we still opted to sit outside for the view. There is indoor seating here but minimal view and it is dark and smelly (like wet beach smell). The outside is perfect! We started with Salad and Lenil soup. Both were super yummy but the salad greens were a bit wilted and brown. for meals we got the scallop pasta which was an odd mix of flavors together. the scallops were tasty but the vibe didn't really match. my husband loved his grouper and said it was the best he ever had! the steak and potatoes were traditional. The caprese salad was fresh but mozzarella tasted like it was from costco. A side of shrimp was so delicious cooked in butter and herbs. The waitress talked us into trying their famous key lime pie. It had to be the worst tasting key lime pie I've had in my life. It tasted old and like it was frozen. I'm assuming we got a bad piece because everyone else in town raves about the key lime from here & blue heaven (sister restaurant). We did go back for lunch and our lunch meal was delicious - burgers and salads! Please clean the bathroom, it was extremely dirty!

Yelp
Purely based on the one item we tried here which was the famous key lime pie. It was the best on the island by far. The view is really nice in front of the beach and the service was friendly.

Yelp
I had the grouper cakes and they weee delish. Very fresh Ambiance is great for its beach side and you can watch the volleyball players having their fun. Service was great!

Yelp
Always fabulous and delicious. I've eaten here a great deal and it's always great. The service is warm and friendly and who wouldn't want to sit and eat and watch the ocean at Higgs Beach

Susan W.

Yelp
Mid. Food was okay. Hostess was not the friendliest, but the server was cool. The sun sets behind buildings when sitting outside m, so not great views. My family was eaten alive by bugs.

Yelp
Loved eating by the beach. Service was wonderful. Caprese salad was fantastic. Drinking were tropically refreshing.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite go to places in Key West. Love the Blackened Mahi Sandwich that comes with homemade potato salad. Just fine dining on a beach side setting with in or outside seating.
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
Excellent food, responsive service, beautiful view. However, we felt uncomfortable and wondered why they allow their diners to be approached by homeless people asking for their leftovers?
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
This was an excellent meal and right on the beach! I had the scallops, which were the highlight of my trip. It was definitely HOT outside due to it being July in KW but the waiter kept the water coming. Absolutely amazing

Yelp
We had dinner at a restaurant downtown the night prior to dining at Salute. We asked the waitstaff who in the city had the BEST key lime pie. She spoke highly of Blue Heaven. I called them to see if they were open and was advised they were on vacation. The person on the phone advised we could check out their other restaurant Salute on the Beach To our surprise this restaurant was in very close proximity to the hotel we were staying at. The restaurant is located on Higgs Beach. There is ample parking available in front of and to the rear of the restaurant. The host stand is located outside . We are not accustomed to the Key's heat so we opted to dine inside. However, I would highly recommend sitting outside and enjoying the view of the beach. All of the staff were friendly and simply a good time. It appears that everyone just helps out where needed. They had a regular menu as well as a printed sheet with all of the specials. I ordered the tuna stuffed avocado. My guy had the snapper entree. The food came out fairly quickly, but did appear to be fresh. I really enjoyed the stuffed avocado it was light but filling. I tried the snapper. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Now for the main event: the Key Line pie!! Oh my! The presentation is amazing! The meringue on this pie is out of this works massive!! It is torched on the top to give it a little color, and some additional flavor. Let me tell you- the pie was fantastic. My guy does not even care for key lime pie but he gladly helped me eat this slice. We cleaned the plate!! This is a great place to dine at while in Key West. I love it because it's not downtown, they have free parking, and the food and service are actually good!

Yelp
Fabulous food, right on Higgs Beach. Excellent service. Relaxed ambiance. Great place to watch the sunset.

Yelp
Among our most treasured memories from this last summers cross-country road trip was, believe it or not, having lunch. for the sake of this review, I will just state a given in the equation that our family does not really do lunch when we're traveling; generally speaking, we make peanut butter and jelly in the car or skip it all together as we are out adventuring, exploring, and having a good time in a new location. But when we inquired with the front desk staff at our camp spot on nearby Stock Island where we should visit in Key West, they told us you simply have to visit Saluté On The Beach. They were right. We arrived to the adjacent beach pretty early in the morning, staked out our spot on the white sand between clumps of somewhat stinky Sargasso weed, and enjoy the morning of snorkeling and swimming around in the bath temperature water. The beach is probably fodder for a different review, but suffice to say, about lunch time we were getting peckish, and as my dad says in Vegas, "we're not here for a haircut." We walked in to Saluté still wet and sandy from our outdoor fun, and the nice fellow who runs the joint found us a shady spot on the patio. My SoCal kids could not get enough of the iguanas, curl tailed lizards, and ubiquitous roosters and chickens casually hanging out around our table. The service was impeccable, friendly and not stuffy, sophisticated but casual, with a postcard review of the cobalt and azure waters framed by white sand and coconut palm trees that were almost cliché. Nothing cliché about the menu here, though: everything was delicious, and I wish we had ordered more. My kids scarfed down the calamari appetizer almost before I could get a bite, and then ravenously enjoyed their own plates. Drinks never ran empty thanks to the attentive servers, and we even finished it off with a big slice of their famous Key Lime pie, mile high with meringue. After starting back to work on a new school year, and during the SoCal heat of late August, memories slowly fading from our once in a lifetime trip this past summer, I can honestly say I would much rather be sitting at this restaurant right now than writing a Yelp review about it. I suppose, however, that seeing the pictures provides some relief, and galvanizes my resolve that our family will visit this awesome spot again as soon as we can.

Food was very fresh! Best Key Lime Pie and ocean views! Great location, Friendly staff.

Yelp
BLUF: fresh and tasty food in a great location We went here on a weekday for a late lunch. One of us had the mahi-mahi sandwich, the other a snapper salad. We also had a caprese salad appetizer and a gazpacho appetizer. The server was friendly and helpful throughout. The caprese salad was a little of a surprise because instead of using slices of tomatoes they used grape tomatoes. It was still tasty, just different than we expected. The gazpacho was, to put it simply, amazing. I could taste the freshness in every spoonful and it was a great crunch to the onion in it. To me it was a highlight of the entire meal The snapper salad had a nice variety of greens and was dressed very well. The snapper itself had a perfect Golden crust on it. The mahi-mahi sandwich was tasty, but didn't have as good across on it. It may be because when I tasted it it had been on the sandwich for a bit and maybe the heat steamed the crust. Add to this that they have an amazing location right on the beach, so if it's a nice day you were eating great food in a great location. The one downside I will admit is that it is not cheap. Frankly very few things in Key West are, but I kind of felt they were about 10% overpriced. But I would still go back. UPDATE: this place was so good, and the location so great, that we went back. This time we had the steamed mussels, antipasto tray, and caprese salad (and the snapper salad, again). To put it simply, it was all very good. The mussels came with a nice portion of bread to soak up that great sauce that's left in the bowl when you're done. Antipasto tray was fresh and tasty.

Yelp
This was our first time at Salute! On the Beach, and it won't be our last. We were able to grab a table on the patio, much to our delight (and the delight of the roosters, hens, and chicks). Lenny, our server, suggested a Funky Buddha Floridian when I asked for an area brew. He was so right! It paired deliciously with our cup of White Bean Soup and Gorgonzola Shrimp Salad. We had a beautiful view of the water while we ate. Nice!
google avatar

Julie P.

Yelp
Great location on the beach. You can sit on the patio right by the water. Mark is a very eccentric host; he's lots of fun. Our server Jon was dry and acerbic. Great service. The tuna avocado salad and gazpacho were refreshing. The grouper and mahi mahi specials on the menu that evening were phenomenal, very rich. Also... I need to add that my girlfriend left her phone at dinner. She went there early in the morning and she was assisted by the chef, even though they weren't open. He graciously found her phone and showed her the beautiful marinara that was cooking on the stove.

Yelp
Great Location, Excellent Happy Hour and Decent Food. The staff is wicked friendly and diverse, but the menu is not very exciting and fixed. We had a couple decent meals and superb Key Lime Pie. It's solid, and consistent.

Kelley H.

Yelp
Seafood bisque was delicious! Staff very friendly & prompt. Nice experience & right on the beach.

Yelp
Just a short walk from our hotel, this restaurant is very good. The views, food, drinks and service are always on point. They offer a nice menu, along with a list of daily specials. We started with a bowl of gazpacho. This was nice and refreshing on a hot day. A cup would have been enough for the two of us. Next an appetizer of calamari sautéed in a tomato sauce with garlic. This dish was a meal in itself. We licked the bowl clean. Finally, we split the grouper cakes. These, like everything else were very good. We will return.

Stan B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with beachside dining. Delicious food. Attentive and personable staff. Highly recommend if you do not want seafood when in Key West.
google avatar

Kathy F.

Yelp
Came for lunch and had the shrimp salad which was light and refreshing . The salad greens that came with the salad were lightly dressed in a vinaigrette and were fresh. I also had a mojito which was also good. We had great service and I will return to this restaurant.

Matthew G.

Yelp
Called to make reservations.. said didn't have an opening till after 8:00 but welcome to come down.. Went down about 6:00 and all kinds of open tables and we were seated right away.. Service was great and food was excellent...

Yelp
What an amazing dinner, an amazing view, and an Amazing wait staff. We ate at Salute On The Beach during our last trip to Key West. The prosciutto chips are so unusual and yummy! The burger was also good. The fettuccini with shrimp was also fantastic. The crowning moment was the key line pie! I hope you enjoy Salute On the Beach as much I did!
google avatar

Sidd S.

Yelp
Great food, great service, great views! This restaurant is located right on Higgs Beach. I had the grouper cakes, which were super flavorful and light (not greasy). They were served with a spring salad. My wife had the Gorgonzola salad with grilled shrimp and thoroughly enjoyed that too. Both our kids got a bow of mussels each. They usually offer to share one or two with me, but we noticed this scarfed these down fast and offered me only the broth! I tried some with some bread and it was definitely worth writing Yelp! about! The waitress and owner were extremely friendly. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
When traveling I always want to try local food so no trip to the Keys is complete without some Key Lime Pie. I'm not sure why I had it in my head that the authentic way was with meringue so I was hunting online for places that did it this way. I found here and their sister restaurant, Blue Heaven online, but picked here because of the beachfront location. Unfortunately it was already dark by the time we got there but it would have been gorgeous an hour earlier during sunset. We only got dessert. Of course I got the pie. Turns out I don't really like the meringue section. It's possible there's just wasn't great, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's my fault. The filling was nice and white and super tangy. Graham cracker crust was decent though I'd had the best one ever a few nights before on a cheesecake so it had a lot to live up to. My wife doesn't like key lime pie so she got a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich which was very good as well.
google avatar

Pearl C.

Yelp
Came here with a big group of 20 people. Seated us very quickly because we had reservations. It's a casual place on the beach so that's always nice. Food was okay. For a seafood place nothing stood out as extra fresh or great. Tried the key lime pie since I was trying it everywhere in Key west and it was okay. Haven't found one I love yet. Service was not good, but not terrible either. They were "nice" Separate from the restaurant review: Many patrons looked at us funny. Not sure if it was because we're a big group of Asians or what they were thinking but a few patrons standing around near the bar area were talking, and I could hear them discussing "the tour bus that brought the Orientals in". *sigh really?!?!*

Joel M.

Yelp
The gazpacho was outstanding. Service was excellent. Great atmosphere. Right on the beach. We will definitely go back.
google avatar

Jacki R.

Yelp
We rode bikes all over and wanted to make a quick stop at Salute to refresh. The location is easy to find, we sat outside and it was perfect. We started off with the Caprese Salad and it was perfect for a hot day. We then moved on to the REAL reason for our visit, that.pie. Take a look at that meringue. It tastes just as good as it looks. Best key lime on the island and I tried most of them! Thank you Salute!
google avatar

Marina B.

Yelp
When we came, the guy (hostess ) told us we cannot get sit at the patio, since we came just for drinks. We explained we will move as soon as someone who has a reservation come. He really was nice and we got our preferred sit watching on the beach! We ended up ordering some food and didn't regret even 1% because it was yummy! Mussels and calamari were wonderful ( you will see in the photos). I have noticed that we were mainly surrounded by elderly people. Obviously they know what is good! Should check this place out if you have a chance!
google avatar

Leena J.

Yelp
Wow, super windy, but super fantastic fresh food! Loved our sweet server- she was quite a character. The host was even more of a character and so friendly and fun Looked like they were doing some construction and clean up on Higgs beach, which at first was a bit annoying whine we'd were eating, but we kept living and loving our food. Food was on point. Delicious lobster bisque, great flavors and a good balance. The fish sandwich was so tasty and fresh!!! Go here for lunch- you will love it!!!!!
google avatar

Aimee C.

Yelp
The food was excellent! The smell under the overhang was not great!! .. I'm not sure how to describe it. For the most part we enjoyed the food. Bread and butter - very good!! Scallops salad - fresh and delish!! Fettuccine alfredo - good tasting. Garlic was overpowering and not cooked through. I'm basking in garlic breath. The food was good enough we would give it another try. I might go for a different dish than the Alfredo.
google avatar

Ana C.

Yelp
The food was amazing!!! Maria our server was friendly and had great suggestions. Loved sitting outside looking at the ocean, great ambiance.

Abby D.

Yelp
Great location, great food! Recommend the chicken Alfredo and key lime pie. Service was quick and friendly. Good for kids, too.

Lissette c.

Yelp
The food is delicious and well served, the service is great, also they have a good kids menu. Just a thing theres a problem with the restroom, they let everybody get in (no costumers from the beach) and u have tu make a line, 10 min or more, they dont have changing table for babies so i had to go to my car to change my son
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
To start off we just drove out of town to try and get away from the cruise ship crowd wandering like zombies and filling everything within walking distance of the port. We saw this place on the beach and fell in love with it when we walked up. Service was fantastic from the first person we talked too till they cleaned the table. Food was amazing. Our group was 9 and we hit most of the menu. Everything was on point and beyond. Thanks for the great meal and atmosphere.
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
Lovely spot with scenic views of the beach, Super clean and the food was very good. We stopped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Very helpful and friendly staff as well.

Yelp
Starting with Cigar City Florida Man dbl IPA of course. Beach dining with volleyball & ocean view. Peanut safe for my son. Going with Grouper special & mm good. This place has Don Henley (Sunset Grill) feel.

Yelp
A local told us about this place as we like local places.Frank was our waiter we ordered the two specials grouper & Meatloaf. Amazing we sat close to the beach.(Great vides)The hostesses Mark was full of life. My kind of guy! A MUST go to!
