Very Honest Reviews

Google
Great revolving sushi restaurant, located in the heart of Flushing. We tried the AYCE option during lunch. They had a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls, as well as hot foods. it’s surprising how much of the menu is included without added cost. You’re definitely able to get full and experience of wide variety of different sushi even that spending extra money. However, if you want to try the Wagyu, Foie gras, scallops and fatty tuna, then you would need to pay an extra $1-2 per dish, each with 2 pieces. I tried the Wagyu, but actually didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. We came during a time when it wasn’t too busy, so the amounts of sushi that we got from the revolving sushi belt was pretty good. However, I can imagine if you come during a time when it’s busy or you’re seated towards the end, you likely won’t get much. in that case, I would recommend to order off the touchscreen, and your food will come via a little train. Also, don’t forget they have dessert, including pudding, and ice cream. The service was great, and the price was reasonable. I would like to come back for dinner because they do have more options for a higher price.

Google
We opted for the all you can eat buffet. There was definitely alot of food, but early on, depending on where you sit as the sushi rotates close to you, you may not get many choices if anything until others tables closeby are full. We didn't get many choices until about 1 hour into service, but this place was packed on a Thursday night and the table service was exceptional. The sushi wasn't the best quality, but passes for AYCE when you are hungry and want to try an atypical sushi restaurant.

Google
I visited during the weekend lunch service. Food was decent for the price. Service is slow, they were definitely understaffed. It took a while for us to just get water. The orders we placed through the tablet took a long time to arrive. There's a good variety of food options. There are hot foods, appetizers, and desserts. There was a long wait to get a table, it took us about half an hour to queue for a table of 2.

Google
Came here around lunchtime. Tables get filled up quickly. Not sure if it’s because of the holidays, people are off. This is a revolving sushi AYCE restaurant but the area we sat in didn’t have sushi revolving. The revolving belt is working but no sushi. You ordered from the tablet and staffs will bring you your order. There is a time limit of 90 minutes. The staff came and told us we have 15 minutes left. The restaurant does get busy so 90 minutes is really not enough because we waited a while if our orders and some of the items did not come.

Fun place to bring your family and friends. The revolving sushi and the train that pulls your dish to your table is exciting if it’s your first time. Would recommend to anyone.

Google
There was a huge selection of food, raw/cooked, hot/cold, and the fish was all really fresh and great quality. It was a really fun experience ordering on the iPad and waiting for the food to come on the belt, the kids absolutely loved it. The restaurant is very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful too! Definitely recommend this place, we will be returning very soon!

Google
Super cool experience of conveyer belt sushi. The fish and salmon are pretty fresh, with my favorite being the seared salmon! There are some items you can also order separately on the IPad, those come to you via an “express train”. Overall the sushi came out on the conveyer belt pretty quickly, although the wait time for the IPad food would vary. Would recommend trying out!

Yelp
A decent sized restaurant with the conveyor belt running in the middle. There are different kinds of seating - booths for groups and single tables facing the conveyor belt for parties of one. The service was good - they were helpful in explaining how things worked, and they came by frequently to clear things that weren't plates (plate covers, bowls, etc), and to fill up our water. It's a cool way to clear plates by sliding them down the slot, which then gets recorded on the tablet. Overall pretty decent for an AYCE with the kaiten (revolving) sushi vibe. There is a 90 minute limit, but we did not feel rushed. The Salmon Tartar tasted fresh with the avocado and was a good change in texture. The Taki wasabi was good, though could have used more wasabi. I just added some myself from the wasabi packets. The Hamachi Kama was a bit overdone but still tasty. Could have just been the piece we got, but would order again. The Chirashi was good. I mostly got it just to get the ikura on top. The Shrimp Tempura was just ok. The batter was thick and just overtakes the shrimp. The Soft Shell Crab Tempura, was worse as it was was overdone and inedible! Only thing we left untouched. Some of the Sashimi was just ok (on the colder side, and the cuts are small but you can order as much as you want) The Jalepeno Salmon and Yellowtail added a boost in flavor. I preferred this to the regular sashimi. The rolls were good to change it up. The rice held everything together nicely. I enjoyed the handrolls, made fresh when ordered. The Puddings were a mix. The coconut is the best. Great coconut flavor. The sesame was good too. However, the matcha had no flavor. Make sure you don't accidentally order anything that costs extra since it's not listed separately on the tablet (listed on the table). Everything on the conveyor belt is included though. Was able to grab a good amount off the belt itself, but definitely order through the tablet as well! Got tokens for the gacha at the end. It's fun for kids, but a bit of a waste otherwise. At $37.99 (+tax and an 18% automatic gratuity), i's a pretty good deal for AYCE kaiten sushi.

Yelp
A la carte revolving sushi got me conscious of every colored plate I grab, so I thought AYCE would make a difference. We came at 2PM for lunch pricing, at $40pp. The price seems to be ever increasing. They close at 3:30PM, with the kitchen closing a little after 3PM. You can grab from the conveyor belt or order from the iPad. We at first grabbed from the belt, but we soon grew out of it fast when the same 4 or 5 sushi kept coming with the hugest chunk of rice. The iPad had the sashimi, which was what we mainly ended up getting most of anyways. The salmon tasted the freshest to me, and we kept gravitating towards the red clams. There was also extras like ramen and green tea mochi. A couple options, like beverages, were not part of the AYCE. $40 is not worth it for the limited choices here. Can't believe this was the lunch pricing too, cause the dinner would be pricier. I do appreciate them offering AYCE revolving sushi though, and the robotic train that knows to stop at our table doesn't stop fascinating me.

Yelp
Surprisingly very good experience here at Salute since in recent years I have been avoiding AYCE sushi options. There were many items here that were pretty good, but some misses. Let me give a breakdown: Sashimi: Most of the pieces on offer were fairly flavorless. Others have mentioned the salmon being a preferred fish and I agree. The tuna was still slightly frozen with ice crystals on pieces. Salmon and Yellowtail Jalapeno: To make up for the so so fish fresh jalapeno and a yuzu sauce enhance the flavor. Perhaps a better way to go if ordering mostly sashimi. Chirashi: The fish seemed to be better cuts, or maybe because they were wider and flatter so it enhanced the flavor a bit. Bonus: It comes with sweet shrimp topped with Ikura. Eel Sushi: One of the better pieces I had among AYCE and neighborhood sushi spots. Saba: (Mackerel) Mackerel has a very strong flavor and is general marinated to balance it out. They do a good version here and have two options plain and ginger/scallion. Salmon Tartar: came with fresh Avocado and chopped chunks (not mashed) of salmon. Their fish in general does better here when flavor is added. Hamachi Kama: Was slightly inconsistent. Meat itself was a little overdone and not as tender as I would like, but certain pieces especially scrapping off the bone were tasty. Jumbo Shrimp: Were soft and in a nice marinade to enhance the flavor. One of the better pieces. Handroll: Were freshly made (as with most items from the sushi bar/kitchen) and enjoyed by the ones that ordered them. AVOID: Fried Soft Shell Crab was inedible. If you want Poke I would suggest going for the Chirashi bowl instead GENERAL OBSERVATIONS: You are probably better off ordering from the menu then grabbing the pieces off of the belt since you don't know how long they've been revolving. I prefer this to the Kura chain - the experience is more calming blond woods instead of Kura's pachinko pallor decor. I found the fish and sushi to be better quality. Our final total came close to $400 for 4 people, but that price could be inflated. I mean $10.99 for 2 shrimp tempura pieces? yea right! Who's paying that? (Only paid the AYCE price per person of $37.99 + tax and 18% included tip) There were some "premium" items that added cost outside the AYCE price which we did not order. Service was great. Tables were cleared quickly and items like drinks and cooked items were delivered by human servers.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened, but the quality of Salute has gone way down since my first 3 visits. I was excited to come back to Salute for a 5th or so time, but I was really disappointed when the salmon sashimi came out thin and cut very small. The green tea pudding also suffered a huge drop in quality from when it was served in a wood box - for one, all you can taste when you eat it is the wooden spoon, but the pudding itself is bland and an unpleasant texture. I like the idea they have with the random token for a prize, but I feel like not letting people pick a theme leads to waste if they just toss the toy. This time we sat in a small two person table, which is kind of cramped and led to issues with putting our dishes / empty covers somewhere until someone came by. I pushed the call button, but after a few minutes, I just waved someone down. Really disappointed because I loved this place. Maybe the AYCE isn't worth it and that's what caused the drop in quality. I wish them the best in finding a balance.

Yelp
BLUF: Salute has potential, but Kura is a better sushi conveyer belt experience right now. We visited Salute Revolving Sushi on a recent weekend evening. The restaurant was half-empty during our visit, while nearby Kura Revolving Sushi in Tangram Mall had a 120-minute waitlist. The stark contrast seemed about right. Salute has some work to do to catch up with Kura. The restaurant's environment is comfortable and looks exciting. Like Kura, Salute has a two-level automated food delivery system. Salute uses a conveyer belt on the lower level to offer the restaurant's standard selections, and a very cute train on the upper level that delivers special orders -- orders placed from the tablet stationed at each table. Food: Meh (2.5 stars out of 5 stars). Salute's lower conveyor belt has four price levels compared to Kura's one ($3.80 per plate). Salute's yellow plates are $3.90, blue plates are $4.90, purple plates are $5.90, and red plates are $6.90. Most of the plates we tried were above the yellow plate level. The food here had better presentation than the food at Kura Sushi. While Salute's wider pricing model should make for a more interesting menu than Kura Sushi, we thought there wasn't enough variety and choice. For example, most of the rolls were variations on shrimp tempura. There seemed to be few choices for those who want something other than shrimp tempura as the core element in a roll. Salute has a spend $40 get a free dish offer (on one's next visit), but we struggled to reach that amount. We had a couple of other issues with the food: 1. There were black specks on the salmon sashimi we ordered. The replacement seemed to be a trimmed version of what we returned. The dish was also too cold; sashimi has better flavor when it is warmer. 2. The Hamachi Kama was fishy -- i.e., not fresh. The equivalent at Kura Sushi was larger, fresher, and not fishy. Most of the food seemed equivalent to a lower middle-tier restaurant. We ultimately left hungry and went elsewhere to cap off dinner. Service: Good (4 out of 5 stars). Most of the dishes we ordered on the tablet were delivered by person, instead of via Salute's very cute train, which somewhat defeats the purpose of visiting a conveyor belt restaurant. If we wanted waiter service, there are much better sushi and ramen restaurants within a few blocks. I'd like to see Salute use its trains to deliver more orders. That said, overall service was good. The waitresses and manager listened patiently to our complaints, resolved what they could, and offered a free dessert. Salute also gifted us a gachapon ball for our orders, delivered by a staff member. Unlike Kura, it wasn't clear how gachapon balls are earned. This is one element that Salute doesn't need to copy from Kura, especially if Salute can improve upon its menu offerings and train deliveries; but it would have been more delightful if the gachapon was delivered by train. Other: - Salute uses wasabi (horseradish) packets instead of a wasabi jar for a more sanitary experience than Kura Sushi. Salute also has miniature trash bins at each table, something lacking at Kura Sushi. - Salute has three well-maintained unisex restrooms.

Yelp
It's an okay revolving sushi place. Initially opening before Kura sushi in the nearby tanggram mall. The variety/selection itself was decent, though quality is not up to par. Eventually it turned into an AYCE revolving sushi. So in addition to the sushi selection that revolves around, you can also order off their menu on the above tablet. Some of the items presented were not what was displayed. For example, the curry katsu udon was under the soup noodle category. What was given was basically udon with a dollop of curry. As for the dessert the mochi ice cream was really good, though the coconut pudding was basically in a plastic cup rather than the wooden dish with red bean ontop as displayed on the tablet menu. The sushi itself wasn't really that good quality, but from an AYCE standpoint it's passable. Interior is clean and staff was nice. Overall an ok place but not sure if worth returning.

Yelp
I heard that this revolving sushi place recently opened and decided to stop by on Sunday for lunch. There was no wait. You have the option or doing a la carte or doing the all you can eat special. The a la cate is about $5 a plate depending on what you order, so if you eat a certain amount, it might be worth it to go for the all you can eat. The All-YOU-CAN-EAT special Weekdays Lunch for $24.99 and Dinner/Weekends All DAY/Holidays for $37.99. This includes everything except a few items. They plates with extra cost to enhance your experience are: -For extra $1 per plate: Scallops, Ikura, Salmon Roe, Seared filet mignon with foie gras, Yellowtail foie gras sushi, Eel foie gras sushi, -For extra $2 per plate: Toro, Fatty Tuna, California Uni, Geoduck Sashimi Drinks are also extra. I went for the All-YOU-CAN-EAT and ordered the following: Crispy chicken, Miso Ramen, Tonkotsu Ramen, Salmon Sashimi, Spicy Salmon Handroll, Tuna Sashimi, Spicy Salmon Kombu, Eel sushi, Salmon avocado roll, Crab sushi, Coconut pudding, and Mochi (Strawberry, Vanilla and Green tea). Overall, I enjoyed everything and the all you can eat price was worth it considering how much food i ordered. I will definitely come back again to try other items. Please be aware that a convenient 18% gratuity will automatically be included in your bill. So there is no need to add additional tip unless you want to.

Yelp
Opened 2 1/2 months. There are still a lot of kinks to work out. So I'd say this place is still in a soft opening. Not ready for prime time. Operating a restaurant is difficult and a lot of work, let alone a revolving sushi one. Pricing: Each dish is priced by plate color. ($3.90 green, $4.90 blue, $5.90 purple, $6.90 red). There are not enough dishes on the conveyor belt. Too empty, to make it fun or satisfy your hunger. We had to order 5 items off the touch screen. Only one was brought to over by the cute train that runs along the tracks above you. Four dishes were bought over by waiters, which really ruins the fun experience of getting it by train. Some of the sushi items like the salmon belly, were particularly small. Hamachi kama. Seriously sad looking. Tiniest one I have ever seen and I've had many. Tasted very fish and salty and old. Not only that, it was only half a collar and about 4 inches long. This should probably just be taken off the menu. Yes that bad. Unappealing. Not worth the money. For a place that just opened recently, there is already a fly issue. Unfortunately I saw at least 3-4 tiny gnats and a fly. Rolls. Lack creativity. Most special rolls have shrimp tempura in the center. Food on the conveyor belt needs a detailed description (somewhere, maybe on the placards on the conveyor belt or a separate menu near the table) of the ingredients in the sushi rolls. For example: what is in a Salute roll? Other items had only japanese names and I had no idea what they were. The best thing: they serve ankimo, which is monk fish liver. Great! But there is too much salty sauce and can barely taste the delicate flavor of the liver. Maybe this is best made to order or with sauce served on the side. The portion size you get is like 1-2 mouthfuls. Ankimo: A delicacy in Japan. Known as the foie gras of the sea. And on CNN list of worlds best foods, this hits at #32. It is washed with salt, rinsed in sake, rolled into a cylinder then steamed. Then served with scallion and ponzu sauce. Dessert: The only desserts are pre-made ice cream mochi also a coconut pudding. Right consistency but rather bland and not creamy enough. Mediocre at best. Also I could see dust particles on the top. For better presentation, these need to be covered when storing, so this doesn't happen. Service: Everyone was awesome! Ten stars for them! Very helpful and there when needed. When you have competition a few blocks away, you gotta step up your game, and be different. Final note: the main draw of such a restaurant is the fun of getting food off the converyor belt and the little train running around the tracks. You take that away then people lose interest. Hopefully Salute restaurant will fix these issues and also come up with some creativity, and be worthy of another visit. As it stands right now unfortunately, I'd rather eat at the competition, even with a wait. Salute needs to find a uniqueness that set it apart from the place down the block.

Yelp
Wanted to try a conveyor belt sushi place and was surprised to see that Salute offered an AYCE experience as well. The restaurant is pretty small, sitting about 25 tables of 4 and it uses a two track system, premade sushi on the bottom track and special orders on the top track. At the time of the review it was $29 for a weekday lunch and $38 for weekends and dinners. Price includes everything on the menu (sushi, sashimi, ramen, apps, dessert) except drinks and $1/2 surcharge for speciality items like uni and foie gras. Sushi is mid-tier. Nothing fancy but not terrible. Something to worry about when going to conveyor belt sushi places is how long ago were the pieces made but we luckily sat near the sushi chefs so we grabbed pretty fresh pieces. The rice was still warm but the fish to rice ratio was a bit rice-generous. We also ordered the tonkatsu ramen and it was great, flavorful and delicious. A star got docked because half way through the meal the staff came by to let us know that the chefs were not able to keep up with the sushi making for the conveyor belt so we needed to order everything through the special delivery system. I think this is because even though we went on a weekday lunch, it was during winter recess and they were packed and didnt anticipate this many customers. Not having the conveyor belt experience for the entirety of the meal was a bit of a let down. I like the conveyor belt more than traditional paper and pen ordering system because you dont need to place everyone's order, you can eat and grab eat and grab. Liked: sauce plates, conveyor delivery system, ramen, seared beef w/ foie gras, mochi Disliked: both coconut and matcha pudding

Yelp
Heard about this spot since it's opening. Got a chance to experience the revolving sushi conveyor belt at an All You can Eat Sushi Price which is NOT bad. Now we don't need to be aware of the price but do be aware that they charge on certain items. You will need to look at those exception on the paper and be Aware when you hit that iPad. We went on a weekend Sunday during lunch time and price was $37.99 and we didn't have to wait. I also heard that tangram mall also have a conveyor belt sushi but their wait time was ridiculous. Love the fact that we didn't have to wait. Maybe due to the place being fairly new. The place was nicely renovated and clean. We order a bunch of stuff. They even got RAMEN. Food came quick. I order some salmon sashimi and it came over on a robotic machine that zoom and came onto our table. I think for some item if they feel the robot is not needed they will the wait staff to bring it to your table. That's fine. I only need to see it once. Once you are done with your plate you can slide it down, it will count how many plates you ate. I think all in all, it was fairly price. Love the conveyor belt and love that it's all you can eat with exceptions. There is an auto gratuity of 18 percent charge.

Yelp
A revolving sushi boom in nyc! Another spot to hit up if you are interested in revolving sushi. Sushi plates come around on a track and ala cart orders come on a train on the top track. Attentive service. Sushi was average and the options weren't many on the track. Seemed to be the same types of sushi going around. A la carte menu also didn't show much of options or creative rolls. Price was a bit high but considering the area and type of sushi could of been more priced accordingly. It's a nice spot for families but not for large groups. Nice to try out once but plenty of options in the area.

Viona C.

Yelp
They're having an AYCE promotion right now! 24.99 for lunch / 37.99 for dinner + 18% gratuity. Not sure if they're going to keep this as an AYCE, but I think it's very worth it with this deal. There may be other competing conveyor belt sushi places nearby, but they're not AYCE. I was skeptical initially because I wasn't sure what was included in this promotion, but most of the pieces and all the hot foods were included in the standard deal. You can add an additional $1-2 for certain pieces like uni, seared filet mignon with foie gras, ikura, etc. I thought it was so worth it for the sweet shrimp & Argentinian shrimp! You can never find these pieces at AYCE sushi spots. There were a lot of variations of fish pieces. Some other notable pieces for me were the seared salmon, white tuna with daikon and tako wasabi. For those who are worried about it being too rice heavy, you can order sashimi slices as well! I was really surprised to see hamachi kama on their menu and had to get it. It was flaky and perfectly garlicky. My friends really liked the fried calamari and fried soft shell crab; they thought it was perfectly battered and crispy! If you don't see what you what on the belt, you can order off the computer too. They have another level of the conveyor belt for a train to deliver your order. Pretty efficient and we were able to eat at a comfortable pace. The soy sauce dish is also so freakin cute LOL. Would definitely recommend going for their AYCE deal right now!

Sally l.

Yelp
We went fairly late in the evening so most of the food on the conveyor belt was empty. Ordering the food, it came fairly quick (maybe because we were one of the last tables there). I wouldn't say the sashimi was fresh but decent, what do you expect from a AYCE place right? I did expect the wasabi to be semi-fresh but it was packaged ones.

Meini C.

Yelp
I noticed that a new sushi spot opened in the neighborhood so we came to check it out. The food was good and the staff were friendly. Would definitely be coming back here Food - 8/10 Service - 9/10 Ambiance - 8/10

Jackson Y.

Yelp
Another conveyer belt sushi place? This seems to be a new trend. Salute is located on the edge of Flushing, a block or two away from the heart of downtown. Upon walking in, you see a robotic train on a track delivering food to customers in addition to the conveyor belt. Unlike Kura Conveyor Sushi Bar, which generally has a fixed price for most items, Salute has different color plates/prices for items. This allows them to give more food options like sashimi and geoduck. The sushi was fresh and plentiful. TL/DR: if Kura Sushi is the McDonalds of sushi bars, then Salute would be Burger King.

Irene C.

Yelp
Will not come again. The food is not that good and fake all you can eat. The guy receptionist told us "everything included, even the hot foods, except drinks." But when we got the check, they add certain sushi $1 of each. It was Saturday night, the restaurant is not even half full. $42.99 fake all you can eat not worth it. Will not waste money here again.

Amanda Z.

Yelp
Overall a not-too-bad sushi place since it is is the only AYCE in Flushing (I think there is also River but it's more expensive) - the only flaw is the rice! when the sushi first came, there was a funky smell as if the fish had went bad. we soon realize the fish was fine, it's the rice (i'm not sure if it is because they added too much vinegar, or the rice went bad, or the quality of the vinegar but something was off) - the sashimi quality was pretty good, just wish the pieces were thicker and bigger (I just had it two pieces at a time) - there wasn't much sushi on the conveyor belt so we mostly had to order from the pad which I personally don't mind too much - they had quite some appetizers, loved the mussels - had mochi ice cream included which I loved Again, it is definitely not the best AYCE sushi in Queens but okay for the locals who wants some AYCE sushi without taking the train or driving

Yelp
"It feels like an inferior version of KURA ran by cheap imitations. After eating, I felt the freshness was lacking. It's very much like the cheap sushi you'd buy at a regular supermarket, if not worse. Their technology is not as good as KURA's, and their food isn't as tasty as KURA's. Apart from being pricier than KURA, the food and utensils all have a cheap and tacky feel to them. The chef in the back was wearing AirPods while making sushi and speaking loudly, which startled me. All in all, while KURA might not be that impressive either, at least their dining experience and food are somewhat decent. This upscale imitation is just a land mine. I'd still go to the KURA in NJ, but I'll pass on this one. However, I'd remind everyone that you should try it for yourself and compare. My personal experience doesn't mean you won't like it."

Yelp
Came here around lunchtime. Tables get filled up quickly. Not sure if it's because of the holidays, people are off. This is a revolving sushi AYCE restaurant but the area we sat in didn't have sushi revolving.

Food: 3.5/5 Sushi was pretty standard for the price it's at. Not a lot of variety IMO, the same few dishes kept being sent around. Their boba isn't the best, sticks together in the cup. Service: 4.5/5 Very nice waitress for my table, explained the prices and gave us a heads up for any extra costs. Ambiance: 4/5 Standard. Restaurant felt empty. Quiet. The decor was nice. Extra: We got a token each to spend on their "gacha" machine. (I think it's only given after spending a certain amount) Got some pretty... cheap looking plastic toys. It's nice to get them, but they're so cheap mine broke after putting it in my pocket. Cost to worth: 2/5 Because of scheduling conflicts in my friend group, we went on a weekend, paying $10 extra. Total bill with tip tax gratuity ended at $55 per. Even on a weekday, I would not choose this restaurant for the cost to worth.

Yelp
Salute is the first conveyer belt sushi restaurant I've been to that offers AYCE sushi (+ ramen, apps, soup, and dessert). Ordering a la carte can quickly add up especially when a bowl of ramen is already $11 a la carte, so the AYCE option is justifiable (about $38/person on weeknights and weekends). Food (3/5): As expected, the quality of the fish is just okay - but you're coming for the experience, am I right? Our table also ordered their ramen which was surprisingly good and the portion is large. Takoyaki was pretty good too! Service (5/5): no complaints! Note: - 18% gratuity included - 90 min time limit

Yelp
Another revolving sushi in Flushing!! Food is fresh and made by a real chef, unlike Kura which is made by a machine. Technology is okay. it could to be better. Drinks are really good. I would come here just for the jelly drink

Yelp
The quality of food here is good, but not good enough to justify its relatively high cost. Although the quality is better here than at Kura's, I feel like I could get the same quality at a non-conveyor-belt Japanese restaurant at a way more affordable price. The ordering and delivery system could also be faster and improved in general. The food: The sushi was good. Not a lot of variety, but the fish was fresh, the rice was cooked very well, and the filling/fish-to-rice ratio was pretty balanced. The system and experience: - We came at noon on a weekday. We were the first customers, so there were no plates on the conveyor belt yet. It was not until about 1 hour after their opening time (when they got 2-3 more tables) did they start putting stuff out on the belt. For the conveyor belt experience, I'd come here during a busier time (weekend prime lunch or dinner time). We ended up only ordering from the tablet, which defeated the purpose of coming to a conveyor belt sushi place. - There are no descriptions of the menu items (no ingredients, allergens, etc.) anywhere -- not on the tablet or conveyor belt signs. For the sushi rolls with non-intuitive names, it would been nice to know what are in the rolls. We had to call the workers there and ask, and they themselves needed to check with the chefs. - There are two trains running on tracks above the conveyor belt that bring over the self-ordered food. These trains were very slow and had to make their way through the entire track to get back to the kitchen to be filled with another order. The self-ordering system didn't seem efficient at all. - I don't like the amount of plastic the restaurant uses. They use plastic cups, plastic straws, and plastic wasabi packets. Definitely a turn off from dining here again. Overall, I wouldn't return. It's very pricey for what it is. Although the quality is better than Kura's, the variety and quantity of food are about the same at both places. The food ordering/delivery system and the use of plastic water cups downgraded the experience for me. I left feeling unsatisfied, disappointed, and wishing I had gone to a regular sushi restaurant. I actually wouldn't want to go to either Kura or Salute again, but if I HAD to choose, I'd probably choose to go back to Kura if I really wanted to eat at a conveyor belt sushi place.

Yelp
A big part of coming here is the experience. The robot was cool and any additional things we ordered from the tablet came relatively quick either by the robot or servers (a few items have an additional $1/$2 charge but it's specified on the menu they give you). We went around 6pm on a weekday and we had no wait time and by the time our 90 minutes were up there was only three other groups left in the restaurant. They ran out of the desert included before we were done eating so didn't get to try. I wish we would've thought ahead and grabbed it off the conveyor belt since they had stuff in the beginning. They also gave us two toys which was nice. Wish there were more options and more items on the line. We were closer to the beginning of the conveyor belt and even then it felt limited. That being said the food is good and definitely worth paying the AYCE bc it would add up quick otherwise.

Yelp
Great revolving sushi restaurant, located in the heart of Flushing. We tried the AYCE option during lunch. They had a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls, as well as hot foods. it's surprising how much of the menu is included without added cost. You're definitely able to get full and experience of wide variety of different sushi even that spending extra money. However, if you want to try the Wagyu, Foie gras, scallops and fatty tuna, then you would need to pay an extra $1-2 per dish, each with 2 pieces. I tried the Wagyu, but actually didn't like it as much as I thought I would. We came during a time when it wasn't too busy, so the amounts of sushi that we got from the revolving sushi belt was pretty good. However, I can imagine if you come during a time when it's busy or you're seated towards the end, you likely won't get much. in that case, I would recommend to order off the touchscreen, and your food will come via a little train. Also, don't forget they have dessert, including pudding, and ice cream. The service was great, and the price was reasonable. I would like to come back for dinner because they do have more options for a higher price.

Yelp
Came here because the line for Kura was too long. Cute spot in flushing. The interior was super clean and the staff were friendly. The food was okay and the prices weren't too bad. I wish they had more options for sushi and hot dishes. The calamari were mainly all breading. The takoyaki was pretty good. Their spicy tuna was really good. Presentation of the sushi was abit lacking and wasn't super appealing to look at.

Yelp
Alrighty folks, lets first set your expectations straight. Revolving sushi bars are known for CHEAP and easily serviced sushi. Not sure why but they became a premium service in the United States. Additionally they're known for "easy to service" meaning it's self service for the most part. You order, it comes on a belt. So here comes the tip debate that I'll leave to you to think about. This place is non-traditional and overpriced. Some business owners are notoriously known for copying Japanese cuisine and jacking up the price and such is suspected of this place. It'll appeal to westerners who've never seen such before but as a local asian, we understand it's a ripoff. Food: 1/5 fish is lackluster compared to the price. Up to 6$ a piece but the fish doesn't melt in your mouth nor is it fatty. Service: non-existent. A waitress told me to sit at the individual booth when I was with my wife and when I asked for the larger booth she said its reserved for 4. After I've sat down, she allowed other groups of 2 to sit at those booths? The hell? Atmosphere: Modern looking but if you're here for the food this is satisfactory at best. Lastly I should add, what kind of revolving sushi bar barely has any sushi??? I waited 10 minutes for water because it has to be ordered on their tablet along with other food such as an udon bowl. In summary, this place represents a high priced imitation knockoff of Kura sushi.

Yelp
This is the same owner as naked crab before it became Salute. The food here is very mediocre and the tablet food is shown in japanense. You can't really tell what pieces are coming on the conveyor belt and there aren't many options. The prices are pretty expensive for the quality and quantity. It's cool that the food you order comes on a train conveyor belt, but that's all there is to be impressed with. The servers were clueless majority of the time regarding how to order food off the tablet and even checking out. Don't think I would ever go back and would definitely recommend going to Kura or some other sushi spot.

Yelp
Great experience, would go again. We went when the restaurant opened, so we had good seats. It started getting busier toward the end of the 90 minutes. We got plates off the conveyor belt and ordered from the iPad. I preferred ordering off the iPad because you get more at once compared to two pieces of sushi at a time. The restaurant was clean with good lighting. Child-friendly! We had our two-year-old toddler with us; he sat in a booster seat away from the conveyor belt. They provided small bowls and forks for him to use. He enjoyed placing the used plates into the slot and getting toys from the little machine by the entrance. He ate cooked foods (eel sushi, tamago sushi, dragon roll, gyoza, fried rice, seaweed salad, kani salad, desserts). There were other cooked foods that we didn't try.

Yelp
A decently priced revolving sushi spot that does some items well ( ie. Shrimp and eel ) but does most items fairly mediocre to average. Came here since ayce sushi is a guilty pleasure of mine, and what better way to try revolving sushi! Took so many items off the conveyor belt, but also ordered many items from a menu, which came on a toy train above the conveyor belts. I was impressed with the eel and shrimp nigiris as well as the chirashi bowl, but every other item here was relatively unimpressive. The biggest disappointment for me here was the sashimi, while I understand that quality in an ayce sushi spot is never going to be that high, at least have it at a passable level. Frozen, tough and poorly prepared sashimi has nothing to do with the quality of ingredients, but more so poor preparation of the ingredients. Either way, come for the novelty of the place, but there are much better ayce sushi spots out there

Yelp
When you first walk in, it's very warm and inviting. The decor is cute, and I especially like the lanterns display. I love revolving sushi because it's a fun experience, so I was excited to see Salute open. I had gone to Kura in NJ but personally wasn't a big fan. It was just one of the only options at the time. The fish at Salute is fresh, and they all have a very clean taste. Some sushi restaurants can have pretty "fishy" tasting sushi/sashimi, but overall, the flavors at Salute were quite enjoyable. I loved the squid sushi - which was one of their best dishes. I also enjoyed their seared scallop, sweet shrimp, and salmon belly... I must've grabbed at least 3-4 plates of each. I also tried their Tonkotsu Ramen, and that was quite good, considering I am not usually a ramen eater. The desserts (coconut & matcha puddings) were also very good - not too sweet, light, and good portions. It was hard not to keep grabbing them off the conveyor belt because they were that good. They also give you fun gacha prizes at the end. My favorite was a small Hello Kitty Lego set Service is fast and attentive. I would definitely recommend checking it out! Looking forward to going back and trying more things :)

Yelp
If I'm being honest this was a HUGE let down. The sushi came out so slowly and some things were not there on the menu and the good things only appeared on the menu when it was almost time to leave. Some of the sushi was also ugly and some of the things we ordered never arrived or arrived really late. The belt also had little to nothing on it. The service was very good with servers always passing by to see if you needed anything or had any trash. There is not much to say about how the restaurant looks but it was pretty clean. Btw...we went for the AYCE and definitely not worth it because of the speed of getting the food and the availability.

Naixin C.

Yelp
They have really good quality of salmon, but the options are really limited for an AYCE. I basically just ate a ton of salmon and nothing else, not even yellowtail.

Charlie P.

Yelp
The setting and sitting are comfortable. The staff are young yet friendly. They would provide instructions to you if it's your first time there for AYCE. The AYCE price increased from $24.99 to $28.99 per person. AYCE offers everything on the menu, which includes sashimi, sushi, appetizers, ramen, desserts, etc. It excludes drinks, scallop, uni, salmon roe, etc. The quality of food is better than Kura.

Yelp
The people were nice no complaints but there was barely any food at all. It's a revolving sushi place so the dishes supposedly come and you grab the ones you want ..and pay per dish or buy unlimited all you can eat for 37$ .. ...the only problem is there was barely any food on the conveyer belt and we had to wait and wait ..not good we we were there for like an hour and barely any food came out at all and when it did it was the same food all the time salmon sushi . Tuna or maybe a few other things ..no beer or any liquor ..are you kidding me this place is the worst ..don't go here ..flushing has so much to offer don't get ripped off like this ...look at the pictures , empty conveyer food belt all the time ..I feel so ripped off

Kevin L.

Yelp
Really liked this place but now they are closed down permanently. I am not sure why they have went out of business, only can assume the worst. They were only there around a year or 2 i think. Sorry to see it go!

Andrew F.

Yelp
The best AYCE sushi come early because there is usually about a 30-1 hour wait. The fish was fresh and big selection of sushi, sashimi, hot foods, appetizers, and dessert.

Jessica L.

Yelp
This is my experience, and my opinion.. . We went on a Friday evening, at around 8, which (to us) is like prime time dinner time... all the tables were taken so we were seated at the counter, which we would have preferred anyway.. the conveyor belt would be in front of you and not on the side... . They give you instructions on the process, grab what you like from the conveyor belt or you can order on that tablet.. easy peasy... but oh my gawd, the conveyor belt was almost half empty, prob saw the ginger bowl more than anything else.. . And when there were plates, it was mainly rolls and not so much nigiri or sashimi. For those, I would recommend just ordering from the tablet. More than half of our meal was from the tablet and not from the conveyor belt. . With that said, the meal felt very slow. Not much food on the belt and a wait for your order through the tablet.. . The eating area is tight/small, which is understandable. The plate disposal is only for plates so for your used napkins, used wasabi packets (yes, not fresh), ginger containers, the staff would come around to pick it up for you. Which I felt was a bit overbearing. They kept coming over constantly to make sure your area was clean, which isn't a bad thing, but when there was one napkin, they would stick there hands in and take it... it's just a bit too much, like someone constantly gawking at your table. . The food wasn't bad, but certainly not great, but that's what we anticipated - we know it's not , but rather the experience. Their tonkotsu ramen was pretty good... . They currently have no alcohol, but I don't know if they will be in the future... . They just opened so there are prob a lot of kinks to work out...

Yelp
The restaurant had a very good atmosphere the moment I walked in. The robots were really cool, as it was really enjoyable to watch them ferry food back and forth from the kitchen and tables. The sushi system was very good too, as there was always an assortment of sushi flowing to your table and you could specially order your favorites on the provided iPad. The best part of the restaurant is the food itself. You could just tell from the sushi that it is freshly cut and the rice is freshly cooked. The sushi was amazing and I will definitely come again with my wife and kids.

Camille N.

Yelp
There was a huge selection of food, raw/cooked, hot/cold, and the fish was all really fresh and great quality. It was a really fun experience ordering on the iPad and waiting for the food to come on the belt, the kids absolutely loved it. The restaurant is very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful too! Definitely recommend this place, we will be returning very soon!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Came for lunch and it was quiet. Selection wasn't great. Same few dishes rotated over and over. Menu order selection didn't have anything appealing. Although it's an AYCE the selection for AYCE wasn't at par to my opinion. For the price I paid I would've been happier at a a-la-carte sushi restaurant.

Catherine E.

Yelp
Delicious food- and I love the conveyer belt! They also put the name of the sushi so you know what you are getting. The waiters and people there are always kind- as long as you are kind back to them of course! They have a white robot that delivers your food, which is very cool. The chefs are always working hard to deliver plates of sushi meanwhile, so ordered food may be taking longer than normal to get to you. The place is not too busy whenever we went there (we usually go there after around 7 pm). Inside is clean, and you can go for a place at the bar, where you sit right next to each other, or a four seater table (there may be other kinds of seats but I don't remember!) Overall an enjoyable experience- I remember when Flushing mall had a conveyor belt sushi place so was ecstatic to know this place was opening :)

Laura W.

Yelp
Food was great and really fresh but selection was limited on the revolving bar. Would have liked to see more on the line. Service was ok but could have been better. The noodle we had actually tasted pretty good but portion wasn't as expected. Bowl looked big but portion really wasn't, kind of pricy for the amount...

Joy H.

Yelp
Good food, good ambiance, good service. Food was fresh and tasty. Everyone was very friendly and I would high recommend coming here as a first timer.

Gary N.

Yelp
Great experience. Only thing that can be compared to is Kura revolving sushi nearby. Fish is actually fresh and has a great taste, no odor which is rare for a non omakase place. Staff is very fast, wait is not long - seems to be getting busy since this place is getting popular.

Kimberly W.

Yelp
My friend and I have visited Salute before, and the food was good on both occasions. However, during our most recent visit, they were very busy and understaffed, resulting in nothing being available on the bottom conveyer belt. Nevertheless, we were able to order food from the tablet. The owner and waiters were incredibly attentive and friendly! Especially the waitress named Jade!

Dayanna M.

Yelp
The food and ambience was amazing. Service was up to par with the restaurants AYCE ideal. Fresh sushi for not even 35 per person!! And the iPad to order what you want so you don't waste your time siting for the belt to bring about two pieces at time, best that I've seen.Definitely recommend this place :) sashimi 10/10 rolls 10/10 hot food 10/10

Yelp
Grand opening today, very unique way to eat sushi, differ from the traditional setting which make the experience more enjoyable. Environment: Maybe just me but the orange tone increase my appetites, and store is clean, some places i went for sushi the floor is always sticky for some reason. Food: To me there's quite a selections from appetizers/sushi/sashimi/ramen, few to highlight - fatty tuna/ankimo/lean tuna/ramen/miso soup, yes miso soup, it taste like miso soup not miso flavored H2O. Staff‍: Very attentive, show us everything we need to know before we start, and check in with us make sure we got what we order. Overall: It's very differ from the sushi place around the neighborhood, cleaner environment, better quality, more welcoming and friendly staff, i mean why not?

Janice S.

Yelp
I didn't get a chance to eat AYCE but all the conveyor belt sushi I tried was decent. My favorite was the shrimp, it was a good price and very fresh. I ordered extra pieces and it came to me on a train, I wish it was covered though but still good. This place is new and clean. The quality isn't amazing but it's not horrible but if you want to try conveyor belt sushi, come here instead of Kura, it's way less crowded.
