Time Out Market Miami Adds Top Chef Winner Jeremy Ford to Its Lineup | Eater Miami

"I'm glad to see a spin-off of Stephen’s Delicatessen—a Miami institution in operation since 1954 and described as the area's only New York–style deli—join the market; Matt Kuscher, who took it over last year, is opening his second outpost there." - Olee Fowler

I came here because I wanted a breakfast burrito and they serve breakfast all day. It's a "smothered" burrito which I didn't want, so I asked for the chili sauce on the side and I added it like salsa, which I'm glad I did because it was kind of sweet. The burrito was fine, they cooked the bacon extra long for me so it was crispy in the burrito which was nice. Overall it was fine. I should have known not to order a breakfast burrito at a deli, lol. Posting in case others might be interested in a burrito.

Google
I often forget this place has a really good Italian sandwich! They get quite busy during lunch, as they should, but they are very efficient with their process. Lots of really good lighting here too. Lots of really good options here, and they can easily accommodate almost anything!

Google
I have been a big fan of Salvaggio's Deli for years going back to my time living and working in Boulder. And when I found one in Denver years ago, well, I've been going to this one ever since. My go-to is the hot pastrami. Highly recommend! But their breakfast sandwiches aren't bad either. I only wish they had the slow roasted prime rib sandwiches at this location!

Ramsey R.

Google
Used to go to the boulder location, always need to stop for a sandwich when we’re in town!

My husband and I are visiting and luckily we found this place! We ate here every day for lunch! Amazing sandwiches and wonderful and friendly staff. We will definitely miss this place!

Google
Fresh & friendly Delicatessen in LoDo serving up the classics. Excellent service, when us diners need more like Sal's with friendly exchanges like I had today. Tyler cared about me as a customer when I didn't show up on time. My large order was absolutely perfectly prepped & packed to go, and the food was great. Who can ask for anything more? Found a new favorite! Thanks Tyler!!!!! ❤️💕☀️👋☺️

Literally walking out of this place right now, there's a whte girl who's around her mid-thirties, that has an old lady face, I come in there to pick my order up, and she doesn't even speak! I said hello told her why I was there, I even said Thank you when she handed me the food. It's always been a good place to eat, but that chick ruined it for me, terrible customer service!!!

Google
Update- Went back to the Denver store. I was there for an event and it was going horribly in my head at the time, I was so stressed out. Eating salvaggios literally saved me two days in a row. When I remembered they were closed on Saturday I was heavily disappointed. Sometimes all I want in life is more of these sandwiches. Years ago- I am absolutely heartbroken Salvaggio’s in Boulder closed. I am at such a loss it took me this long to write this review. Please bring it back. I will still go to Denver when I can just for these sandwiches. The rolls are great and I’m sure the breakfast sandies are too but I will always come back for big Italian subs. Great bread, great ingredients. I miss you Boulder store.

Yelp
I've enjoyed Salvaggios for years, I think it's a great spot when you're in the area. I like the breakfast, especially when they have Taylor ham. I wish it was all the time on the menu though! The rolls are delicious.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much, but you're gonna be pleasantly surprised! I came here around 1:30 pm for lunch. They have a special where you can get half off on cheese steaks from 2 pm until close. I tried to see if they would give the deal to me early, but the most they could do is 5 mins early. They did, however, allow me to place the order early. I just couldn't pay the half price until 5 minutes prior. I wasn't expecting much, but the cheese steak was actually very, very good. The best part about it was the BREAD! I've had plenty of cheese steaks from Philly and they slap, but not a single one had bread like this. The bread was just so soft and scrumptious. It truly elevated the cheese steak. My only criticism is the cheese wasn't oozing out of the sandwich like I would've preferred, but it was still good nonetheless. The vibe here is that of a typical deli. Come check this place out and get a cheese steak after 2!

Bryan B.

Yelp
I've been coming here since 2016 but now they have increased prices and skimp on the breakfast meat. 2 slices of prosciutto on an egg sandwich: $10. I'll never come bac 13 bucks for a turkey sandwich....nope!

Yelp
Salvaggio's is a great place for lunch if I'm downtown in the office and I need to make a point to drop by more often since it's always so good. The way they make a breakfast sandwich is just really unique and I'm a fan. They have a pretty big selection of food too so yeh, worth a visit in my opinion. Service is decent and quick. Friendly for the most part haha It's got a pretty big seating area and yeh it's nothing fancy but it's a good lunch spot. I could eat that sandwich every week to be honest!

Yelp
I only had time for a quick grab and go in downtown Denver around 17th St and Welton. I crossed the street, found myself in front of Savaggio's deli. It wasn't especially appealing from the outside, but the Philly focus of the menu, brought me in the door. II ordered a whole cheesesteak. Yes please to peppers and onions. Service was quick and I was watching fresh baked rolls coming out of the back. I also saw some construction workers ordering and receiving amazing looking breakfast sandwiches. Even at lunchtime. Looking around, the interior wasn't particularly noteworthy. Plenty of seating, but not much of a crowd. I walked back to continue on with what I was working on and dug into the cheesesteak. It was very, very good. The bread was great. Soft, very yeasty and solid holding up well to the hot steak, american cheese, onions, peppers and associated juices. It was just good. I'd planned to eat half and save the other for later. No such luck. The whole thing disappeared all too quickly.

Yelp
Have eaten a lot of different kinds of Ruebens and wow love how this place makes them, the bread is nice and tasty and they top it with a homemade coleslaw! The corned beef is just perfect and tender and the potato salad was awesome! Definitely worth stopping and grabbing a quick bite, super friendly service and smells amazing inside!
google avatar

Dj A.

Yelp
I thought they were closed, walked in, got a 1/2 off deal, and it was the absolute worst cheesesteak! 12 inches of grossness, to the point I had to throw it away. :( Even this places atmosphere is horrible...the lack of ambiance or working restrooms = PASS~BY~AND~KEEP~ON~WALKING~!
google avatar

Chuck M.

Yelp
I was just in this morning and the breakfast sandwich was awesome. The bread is so good. Fresh eggs. The service was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and we were served so quickly. Great spot.
google avatar

Hilary W.

Yelp
I'm going to start out with this because I think everyone needs to know to get the roll as your sandwich vessel because it is huuuge!!! Now I haven't tried the cheesesteak and it is supposedly amazing, so I won't talk to that but the deli meat sandwiches are perfffffect The cold cuts are boars head, which is the best sandwich meat brand. Your sandwich gets loaded up with meats, cheeses, and you choose your toppings. Always opt for the hot peppers, they add a fantastic flavor to the sandwich! The location downtown gets bussssy during lunch hours, so plan accordingly if you need to get something fast!
google avatar

Evan H.

Yelp
Plastic strips in my sandwich. I ordered an Italian, however when I took my first bite I found that the person who sliced the meats didn't bother to take the plastic packaging off before slicing. Additionally, overall the restaurant is poorly maintained with chairs and tables falling apart, and overall low levels of cleanliness. This was clearly a solid downtown sandwich shop that has fallen into disrepair. I hope management turns it around. For now, go across the street to Snarf's, they have their shit together, and their employees don't look like they hate working there.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
The hot pastrami was so yummy. I'm not a huge bread eater and rarely eat sandwiches but could t resist. Helpful staff and clean. Hot Pastrami!!!!
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Great variety of breakfast sandwiches, philly cheesesteak. The Italian is solid too. Better than anything on 16th street. Bread is made fresh, though I wish it was sesame rolls. Wish they had avocado, they don't. Prices are very reasonable. Service is pretty fast depending on business. You can order pickup on yelp. The seating is large and airy in case you don't want to go back to your desk. Try not to eat here more than 2x week :)

Yelp
I've been coming here since 2016 but now they have increased prices and skimp on the breakfast meat. 2 slices of prosciutto on an egg sandwich: $10. I'll never come back

Yelp
Came here to grad a quick to go sandwich based off of really great reviews from my coworkers. I ordered their cheese steak that had chorizo instead of the traditional sliced beef. Oh my gosh this was one of the best sandwiches I have had. The bead alone blew me away as it was fresh and held up great for the sandwich. The warm meat, cheese, peppers, and onions created perfect harmony in the sandwich and I finished it feeling super happy. The employees were very friendly which only made my sandwich taste even better. This is a great deli to grab a sandwich from, give it a try ASAP!

Yelp
We were visiting from CA and having a terrible time finding a place for breakfast. Ham egg and Swiss with hash browns and veggie grilled sandwich for the win! Get them on the roll and do provolone on the veggie sandwich. Great service too!
google avatar

Dana K.

Yelp
My boyfriend picked up sandwiches at around 2:30 today. He got a Rueben and got me a grilled veggie sandwich with all the other veggies on it. He picked me up at work in Westminster and we drove to run an errand. The sandwich was good until I found a hair in it. When I opened it up to inspect the sandwich, there was another hair. YUMMMM!!! I hadn't eaten at a Salvagio's since I lived in Boulder 15ish years ago, and now I probably won't be going back for a long while.
google avatar

Alanna R.

Yelp
I finally had my first visit here at the Denver location even though I've lived in Boulder forever! I'm sad I've been missing out on this deliciousness for so long! I ordered a round sandwich (not realizing it was HUGE!) with pepper turkey, provolone, mayo, dijon, lettuce, tomato, pickles and banana peppers. Love how they chop up the veggies! This sandwich was sooo good that I couldn't eat only half, and ate the whole thing! Now I'm addicted and am looking forward to my next one!

Lars L.

Yelp
Excellent friendly service. Ordered the Reuben and it was ready in two minutes. The homemade bread (roll) was excellent, fresh. The sandwich was rather skinny, by my midwest standards, not a lot of corned beef on the sandwich here. However it was very good flavor - they use their own cole slaw instead of sauerkraut, which is a nice, interesting twist.

Yelp
My 5 weeks at the Sheraton Denver are finally coming to an end. Yippee Today I felt like a sandwich. There are a few around here. Potbelly's and Subways (commercial), Really liked this place. The bread is huge and fresh and the meats are cut from the deli case. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. Unfortunately seating is limited. So join a single at a table and make a friend. Really enjoyed the sandwich. They give you a decent amount of produce and meat on it. See pics. Will probably come back if given the chance.

Yelp
We attempted to eat Cinnabon only to find their hours were wrong on Google, so we ended up at this deli. BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH I'VE EVER HAD. I got the egg and sausage sandwich with tomato, onion, mayo, and a hash brown. So good. Everything tasted so fresh and the staff was so nice and gave great recommendations. I'm definitely coming back because I'm gonna crave this sandwich and I neeeeed to try the rest of their menu. Can't say enough

Jonathon G.

Yelp
Fresh Italian roll and excellent Philly cheesesteak and a laid back atmosphere when lunch crowd isn't here.

Yelp
This is a place you can't be afraid to chow down! I used to come here quite frequently when I worked Downtown. It's a legit sandwich place when you just want a good sandwich. The sandwiches are huge ! This week,I happened to come back down to run errands and stopped by to pick up my boyfriend's favorite sandwich, the hot pastrami. The key, extra hots... aka giadinera. I tried some of my boyfriend's sandwich and we're both convinced that something changed. He thinks it's the bread, but I feel like the giadinera changed. I can't put my finger on it, but it just didn't taste like the greasy, salty, addicting sandwich it used to be. Don't get me wrong, it's still good, but just ... different? The sandwiches are pricey, but it's downtown and one large sub and easily feed two. It's worth a stop if you work downtown!

Yelp
Oh wow, that freshly baked bread is where it's at. I typically don't like too much bread on my sandwich, but oh wow (did I already say that?). I want to replace the pillows on my bed with these soft cushions of doughy wonders. You can't go wrong with the meats. They get their supply from Boar's Head, so just let that sink in for a moment. When a co-worker of mine came in with one of those big breakfast sandwiches, I was hooked (and I didn't even have a bite yet). Next time that co-worker went to Salvaggio's, I asked him to pick me up a sausage sandwich, and I was even more addicted. Thick cuts of sausage with eggs and cheese on that famous bread. Yes please. The sandwiches are big and plenty, and worth the bucks you'll spend. I like the lunch fare but I also LOVE the breakfast. Give me a sausage egg and cheese at any time of the day. Like right now. Go there. Do it. You'll thank me.

Danette L.

Yelp
If you think you're going to get the same sandwich you do in Boulder you're dead wrong. Stale, hard bread, asked for giardiniera and got relish (like hot dog relish)... also the staff was super rude and made me feel like I asked for a blood transfusion when I asked for oil and vinegar... NOPE.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
I can't believe I ate the whole thing, but I did! I'm talking about the Cold American Sub at Salvaggio's Deli in downtown Denver. The sub is very big and packed with Genoa salami, ham, beef bologna and American cheese but the freshly made bread really makes this sandwich special. It's light and fluffy but has a slightly crunchy top. The atmosphere is noisy but it works for a lunch break stop. You can eat at the window seating and watch the world walking by, if you have a propensity for people watching. You'll see some characters for sure, while having a satisfying lunch.

Yelp
I love this place I've been going since the late 90's when it was on the 28th St. frontage road in Boulder, by Highlander Inn Hotel. Then they moved to The Hill and luckily now I found them here in Denver. The bread here is amazing and their philly cheesesteak sandwich is my favorite although they have other amazing sandwiches that don't fall too far behind in my opinion. Anyways, Very very recommended!!

Edward Z.

Yelp
need to heat pastrami on the grill NOT just in hot water. dirtiest restaurant in denver.
google avatar

Sirius B.

Yelp
This place gets five stars because it is exactly what you'd expect, a good sandwich shop. The bread is insanely fresh and good!

Preston S.

Yelp
Hustle downtown to make it before closing at 4, actually get there at 3:10, and the door is locked and the guy inside just looks at me. Super frustrating.

Katherine G.

Yelp
Best sandwich in town. Consistently delicious since I started going there in Boulder in 2003. Love a classic Turkey on a roll and always get oil and vinegar.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
My most favorite sandwich since having my first bite in college up in Boulder! Will always look forward to ordering sandwiches from Salvaggios!
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
First thing I should say, is that the sandwich was delicious. But the service was as bad as I've seen anywhere. My father and I went there before a Monday night Broncos football game to order sandwiches to go. There were four guys behind the counter, and another in the back room. There was a sandwich being prepared for the one person ahead of us in line. It still took them almost two minutes to even acknowledge us. When they finally did, they were as rude and unfriendly as they could be. When they asked what kind of sauce my father wanted on his sandwich, he asked what his choices were. They pointed to the card taped to the deli case and told him to "just read the card that's right in front of you." I continued to wait to place my order for another two minutes while the guys meandered about, avoiding eye contact and doing essentially nothing. Finally, the guy in the back room emerged, frustrated that he was being distracted from whatever critical task he was doing. He washed his hands, barely, and clearly muttered, "Jesus Christ!". He was then rude and short with me. I never was asked what type of cheese I wanted, so I politely mentioned I wanted provalone, to which he gave me a terse and belittling reply that my sandwich already came with provalone. You know, I spend a lot of money at many establishments. I am not very demanding, and I don't offend easily. Ordering a dang sandwich isn't rocket science, and it's not my first rodeo. But the guys working that day (September 11th, 2017, at about 4:00pm) were among the worst I've ever dealt with. They had a genuine contempt for us, their customers, who did nothing more than order a couple sandwiches and expect a reasonable level of courtesy. That's your business, fellas. If it's too much trouble to do the thing you exist to do, then find other work. I would never go back, no matter how good the sandwich was.
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
The BEST breakfast sandwiches downtown! The bread is fresh is tastes like heaven.
google avatar

Shaheen G.

Yelp
For a place that's known for their amazing sandwiches this location is subpar. Totally skimp on the meat and veggies... seriously ONE onion and ONE green pepper does not make a cheese steak sandwich. When I called to let them know (it was delivered), I was told "I don't know what to tell ya" and had no desire to make it right. So, may want to think twice if you plan to order from this one... 600 17th St in Denver. I've attached a picture just to prove I'm not just a complainer, this was disappointing.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
Cheesesteak was relatively flavorless and underwhelming. For the price, I don't regret trying this place for the first time. However, I don't think I'll be back unless I'm really in a pinch. Maybe they do better with other menu items, but this sandwich was featured pretty prominently on the menu and probably wasn't worth the calories.
google avatar

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Honestly just not a fan... I found nothing to be wrong with the deli, somewhat fast service, very friendly, plenty of seating, great location and healthier meat option with the Boar Head brand. Just not a fan of the style I guess just very simple nothing special. Feels like it is lacking something that would make it a great sandwich. You choose your meat then either a roll or sub for bread and then cheese, condiments and then veggies. Simple as that! I would rather go to other deli's around.
google avatar

V J.

Yelp
Very good sandwiches. Cheesesteak is good, not exactly absolutely original (they use a roll that is good - but not an authentic cheesesteak roll), but still very good. Also recommend the pastrami.
google avatar

Stewart L.

Yelp
This place is really clean has great sandwiches I can't wait for the menu to expand more but overall it's not a place to grab a deli style sandwich I can't wait for them to add pastrami
google avatar

Harrison P.

Yelp
Got the breakfast burrito. Easily one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had in a world of endless burritos. Get the burrito you won't regret it, except I got the chili sauce on the side which I recommend if you don't want it soggy. Some kid made my burrito but this kid obviously knew what he was doing so hopefully all members know what's good
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
This is my new favorite deli. Amazing everything. Prices are high but they deserve it. Wish they were open on the weekends but it's not on 16th St so that's tough. I eat here about 5-7 times a week and work across the street. So awesome. The staff is always friendly and try hard to remember names. I use the Ritual app now to order so I don't have to stand in line for 10 minutes. I love the pepperoni with fresh motz and hot sauce and double sausage with hot sauce for breakfast.
google avatar

Bonnie C.

Yelp
Skip this one!! Guys are so rude rolled his eyes at us. Dry a$$ sandwich and whole place was dirty.
google avatar

Dave R.

Yelp
Great Italian....Good bread, good meat, fresh veggies. Could have had a little Soprasata, but it was a good one anyway I will be back!
google avatar

Alberto M.

Yelp
I ordered pork green Chile and it had zero pork. The manager claimed sometimes there's pork and sometimes not.
google avatar

G K.

Yelp
Spent one night in Denver. Hit up this place because of the Boars Head sign. I had the Italian (not bad) and my husband had the egg salad ( not that great). The woman making my sandwich looked like she wished she was dead rather than working here. Her and three others fought over the counter to make the sandwiches they needed to make. Another woman I noticed, wearing a tank top and shorts and flip flops, seemed to be the manager...maybe. I can't imagine this place being properly managed by anyone. We finished our food but not before someone started blaring music as if we were in a club. Whomever owns/manages this place needs to take a course in restaurant management.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Be careful what you order. Normally their philly cheese steak after 2pm is good for 1/2 price. But, I just bought their Chicken Salad sub. YUCK!!! It tastes spoiled. $15 for tainted chicken salad is NOT GOOD! I hope I don't get food poisoning!
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
Quick friendly service with a wide selection of deli treats. It is a good value. The rolls were fresh, a little underwhelming on taste, but they are a nice size. The seating is good even at lunchtime.
google avatar

Chereen P.

Yelp
Holy cow!! I love this place and the people working it. They will take care of you and man do they make a killer breakfast sandwhich. Did not want to settle for an airport sandwich so i bought a lunch sandwich for the road and it kept well. It was all very fresh and absolutely delicious!
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Guy took my whole order to go, then the manager starts screaming from the back to cancel my order because they are closed? Obviously on a rush to get out the door on a Friday and does not care about customers at all. This place is right next to my work - hope your Friday plans were worth with losing a regular customer for life.
google avatar

Blake W.

Yelp
A+ incredible all around. Food: we were going to red rocks later so we got a breakfast Sammie and a lunch one for later. Got the "heart attack" which isn't called that on the menu - egg cheese + bacon sausage ham on a fresh SO SOFT kaiser roll. Seriously amazing roll. We listened to the recommendations of the guy from Lowell, MA. That dude rocks - what a cool dude. Breakfast - perfect. Get hot sauce on the Sammie. Thick cut bacon was delicious and being cooked as we ordered. Breakfast sausage and ham were good. Lunch - turkey with veggies and banana peppers on same roll. The roll is amazing so soft (and I have veneers and can't bite into hard breads! Win!). Turkey is boars head and banana peppers were a spread (great idea). The guy who helped us pretty much made the whole meal and he made our mixed reviews of Denver get much better. When we sat down, my buddy said, "id hire that guy as manager. Doing whatever." Just a perfect attitude and fantastic food. made our day
