The Best Restaurants in Medford | Eater Boston

"Salvatore’s Medford used to be part of a local restaurant chain of the same name, but original owner Sal Lupoli sold the restaurants to several different managers in 2015. This Medford Square eatery isn’t reinventing the wheel, but it doesn’t have to — chicken parmesan is good, and Salvatore’s version is worth your time." - Terrence Doyle

From start to finish, I would recommend Salvatore’s to any engaged couple as a top tier wedding venue in the area. Marci was our coordinator and I cannot give her enough positive praise for her expertise and genuine care for us as the bride and groom throughout the entire process. The food is unbelievable, with more than just Italian options. We chose a carving station, chicken marsala, pasta, salad, veggie medley, and whipped potatoes for our buffet. Plated meals are available as well. The Coliseum room is the larger of the two function rooms, and the dance floor is centrally located with tables around it. Also included in the room is a full bar and a beautiful private bridal suite included with a bathroom and sitting area. We had plenty of room for a photo booth for guests. The wait staff and bartender were exceptional and took great care of our guests. The tasting was included in the price and was an amazing way to make sure our menu was perfect for our special day. Prices are reasonable, and you truly feel like you are being taken care of as family here. I did not get to meet Michael, the owner, but I heard fabulous feedback about him as well. I truly cannot thank Marci enough for making my experience as a bride planning a wedding so seamless and stress free. It was the most magical day ever!

As a first time customer here, I must admit the Meat Lovers pizza was absolutely delicious! The kids enjoyed their Chicken strips and fries and our server (my apologies I did not get his name) was great! He even took a picture us ❤️!

Never disappoints (except Michael hasn’t said hello yet 🤣🤣) - consistently great food, drinks, prices, atmosphere, service and kindness! You will NOT be disappointed. Gorgeous patio! Even after a rain storm, we saw a rainbow! 🌈

Our Mother's Day celebration at Salvatore's Italian restaurant exceeded our expectations. The menu offered a variety of mouth-watering dishes, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. We were delighted to meet Michael, the owner, who proved to be a charming and hospitable host. The recommendations we received from Facebook were spot on, and we left with happy bellies and smiles on our faces. We started off with a wine for me and an old fashioned for the hubby. They came out and brought us bread and butter right away. Our server was very nice. Didn’t rush us and very attentive. Appetizers were the special -fig, prosciutto, roasted red peppers on ciabatta bread that was grilled to perfection & Fried calamari Entrees- 2 kids meals of pasta and meatball which were more like regular portions. Sauce was so good. I taste tested it to make sure 🤌🏻. I got the steak Frits with truffle fries. There were a ton of fries. Steak came out medium which was perfect. Very tasty. Hubby got the special which was a pan seared salmon salad with berries, goat cheese and a Chianti vinaigrette. He loved it. My sister in law got the eggplant parm and loved it. Also got an aperol spritz and that was very good. No dessert since we were stuffed. — at Salvatore's Riverwalk in Lawrence.

We went on a Monday, around noon, and felt bad we didn’t realize the no cook Monday offer wasn’t until 2:30. It was fine - we wanted to try some food and have some lunch anyway! Our drinks were outstanding, we had pomegranate martinis and customized them to just have plain kettle one vs. citrus vodka. Yum. Then one of us had a burger and one had a caesar wrap. Both items were delcious. We enjoyed our experience and will be back.

I went here with a friend and I got their “risotto with butternut squash, cranberry, chicken and figs “, which was a special mind you, it came with no figs and was the most bland dish I have ever had. Mushy rice, and absolutely NO flavor! That's not risotto. My friend had a burger that was definitely previously frozen. I told the waitress, she went to get the manager, and 20 minutes later (no joke) manager showed up and yes, took it off the bill. Not sure what all the hype about this place is. The owner seems really nice, he just needs a better chef. Not impressed. Response to the owner! I'm not part of your cult following! Your food is awful and I'm sorry you have to convince people otherwise. You get everyone to take down their bad reviews on fb. This was MY REVIEW ON FB. I posted it there and here!!!! Cant take the heat get out of the kitchen! It isnt hate! It is the truth! DEAL WITH IT! HERE IS ANOTHER ONE in my pics! You're welcome!

We held our Martial Arts black belts recognition at Salvatore’s and it was a great experience for everyone.

Google
The food was absolutely delicious. The staff was so friendly. The service was top notch. Thank you Michele. We started with the bruschetta flatbread as an appetizer and our tastebuds were awakened. Wow just wow!!! The Chicken Broccoli Alfredo was perfection. We did not have room for dessert but with a little twisting of the arm we finished with Chocolate Lava Cake and was NOT disappointed. Yummy not a crumb was left on the plate. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Yelp
In all the years that Salvatores has been there, we had never been. I know I am not a fan of Sal's pizza, but thought we would try the restaurant at the Lawrence location. A very nice gentleman (who I believe was the owner) brought us to a booth and said thank you so much for coming to the restaurant. I thought that was a very nice touch. Not many people say that when seating you. We were looking at the menu but had a hard time as the words were small and the lighting not too good. I decided on Chicken Piccata and my husband Chicken Parmesan. We also ordered Arancini. The bread came and it was almost like a sourdough stick that was sliced. I thought it was pretty interesting. The arancini came and was three small balls in a soup bowl with sauce. I took one and it tasted. It was fried in DIRTY grease no doubt and tasted horrible. After a LONG while our dinners came. Mine was 2 chicken cutlets with a lot of Piccata sauce that appeared to be jarred and a LOT of capers. Most importantly, the Rigatoni was literally raw. I did not eat it , nor did my husband and the waitress never asked why she was taking full portions back to the kitchen at the end of the meal. My husband did like the chicken in his Chicken Parm and the sauce. The atmosphere was less than desirable, no candles on the table and pretty quiet in there. When you wait an excessive amount of time for your food, you notice this. Pretty bad the highlight of my meal was the bread. When we got the bill, we noticed the prices for cash were different than the prices for credit card. We asked the waitress why the prices on their online website were different than the prices in the restaurant. She said she did not know why???..Another turn off. FYI, a good way to turn off people from returning to your establishment is to nickel and dime them for credit card fees.....This is so SMALL when a business does this. Without credit cards restaurants are out of business. They advertise prices online that are much LOWER than the prices you will be charged at the restaurant. They should be rolling the credit card fees into the prices of the food. The next thing they should do is make food people can actually eat.....Raw pasta isn't one of them.

Yelp
What an amazing venue! Loved the pizza package every thing was so flavorful. Bartender was very attentive. Great linen setup.

Yelp
Salvatore's has really taken a nose dive. It started with the bread that our waitress said they put in the oven but never came. Our water and my ice tea were served in plastic because they had no clean glasses. My wife's wine was an extra long wait because they had no clean wine glasses. two of our party got the meatballs which looked like they had day old cheese on them and were described as so-so. I had the burger with no cheese, and I asked for the sriacha mayo in lieu of the BBQ sauce. I received 1/2 a tomato, the sriacha mayo on the side had started to separate, and my fries were from the bottom of the bag. Service was average. We are scratching this restaurant off of our dining out rotation.

Yelp
After seeing so many positive reviews on North Shore Eats' Facebook page, we finally gave Salvatore's a try for lunch on Saturday. First we started off with some bread, which was absolutely delicious. I got a Blue Moon to drink and my husband got a sangria. The oranges on the rims were discolored from age and devoid of any juice whatsoever and should not have been served. The server definitely noticed me grabbing it off the glass and immediately dropping it onto a plate, and still said nothing. Then we went into appetizers - the garlic bread was OK but the meatballs were fantastic. Their sauce is perfect! I opted for their Italian trio special, which was linguine with alfredo sauce (yum!), lasagna (not a fan; all I tasted was cheese and it was nearly impossible to find the noodles); and chicken parm (meh - the chicken didn't taste fresh). My kids had the chicken tenders and pizza -- one fella bit into a serious piece of gristle on his chicken tenders and the other said the cheese pizza was fine. My husband had the spare rib pasta special and the meat was super fatty and didn't taste quite right to me. The owners were lovely and kept coming by to check on all the tables, which was nice. We told them the food was fine when they inquired as it's incredibly rare for us to ever send food back. We all agreed the shining star was the TIRAMISU. Absolute silky delicious perfection. That alone will keep us coming back. The pasta and sauces are great -- we probably will just order them without meat next time. The location is handy as there is plenty of parking as well and the location inside of an historic mill building is fantastic -- my 9 year olds love learning about all the history in our neck of the woods so the photos throughout the building were a lot of fun for them (me as well)!

Yelp
Another delicious dinner at Salvatore's. Not only great food, but a staff who cares about your experience. Highly recommend. If the parking lot is full, check to be sure that there are dining room options. There is are function rooms and could be dining tables available.

Yelp
Awesome! Food is great Entertainment is the best! Atmosphere- 4 stars! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Food is disgusting. The owner talks his way out of EVERY bad review that is posted online. The night I went the owner wasnt even there and he responded to my negative review blaming me and said my post was old and I was hateful. Not true. My food was awful and the service was awful. It is what it is. That's my experience! #bekind #takecriticism

Yelp
I had the best Bolognese today here the real deal and as good as it gets ! Fresh homemade food , excellent service, wonderful ambience, crisp salad excellent drinks , food temperatures were perfect thank you for a great experience!

Yelp
Food and service was good but we sat out on the deck and it was absolutely grotesquely filthy. The chairs, deck floor, railings, beneath the tables and chairs were covered with spider webs, dirt, bird feathers and bird poop. Looks like they've never cleaned out there. And don't look up! The lights and awning were just as, if not more, dirty. Too bad. This used to be a very nice place to eat in the nice weather.

Lori V.

Yelp
I went with a group and we were was able to sit outside on a nice Wednesday evening. I don't eat meat or dairy, so, as expected at an Italian Restaurant, the selection was somewhat limited. I ordered a small pizza (no cheese) with sliced tomatoes and mushrooms and it was perfect - I would definitely return again. As a suggestion, it would be nice to add a vegan pasta and vegetable dish to the menu. Perhaps the chef would have been willing to make something for me. However, the menu said "no substitutions" and I didn't want to ask since I was part of a large group. The waitress mentioned that separate checks might be an issue if she got busy, but she was able to accomodate us. The dishes that my fellow diners got were all nicely presented and generous portions. Everyone left satisfied and several took leftovers home.

Yelp
Prices are excellent. Quality is high and reliable. Try their "quick mart" too, across the street next to the gas station, if you would like many fewer choices.

Yelp
Set in a converted old factory along the Merrimack River, Salvatore's had friendly service and tasty food. We sat inside and the large windows offer plenty of natural light but the outdoor patio seating along the water looked to be a good place to sit too. The chicken fingers were tender and flavorful. The white sangria was light and refreshing as a summer beverage. We got 4 pizzas and they were good sized with plenty of toppings and flavor. The Chicken Pesto had great flavor with a fresh pesto puree drizzled over it. The Spinach, Feta, and Tomato has nice pieces of fresh juicy tomatoes and lots of fresh leafy spinach with a generous amount of feta spread around. The BBQ chicken looked tasty and got good feedback from even the kids while the Cheese had a great flavor and texture to it and the homemade chips had a nice portion and crunch as well

Irish G.

Yelp
Pasta was barely cooked. Split garden salad as an appetizer - lightly dressed and very flavorful. The bread was delicious. I ordered the chicken piccata. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very flavorful. However, the pasta was barely cooked - way harder than el dente should be. Was not happy to see a cash vs non-cash amount on the check. I hate that restaurants are doing this. No one carries cash so they know you have to pay the extra. I was tempted to ask for separate checks (there were 4 of us at dinner) so that those who chose could pay cash. Was just too tired and wanted to get home. I'm not sure I will be going back anytime soon.

Yelp
Food is always on point amazing and delicious. The owners show their love for the place and the atmosphere is open and even when crowded it's enjoyable. Small events take out or bigger celebrations this should be considered.

Kathleen S.

Yelp
I ordered the short rib dinner with mashed potatoes and had it delivered. The dinner was $29.50 plus of course tip and whatever else the delivery charge. The meat was delicious, but the potatoes were bad. They had a sour taste and smell to them. I called the restaurant and spoke with someone who then went and said she tried them herself as did the chef and they thought they tasted fine. There is an absolute bad smell, and taste to these potatoes! She said they are going to send me a gift card, so I will certainly update to see if it in any way the cost of this meal!

Yelp
Haven't been here for 10+ years and heard good things and decided to try again. Went on a Friday night and wasn't very busy. We were seated promptly but never saw a waiter come to our table. They saw us and kept walking by. After 10 minutes I asked the hostess to have the waiter come over. We just never felt welcomed and waitstaff weren't friendly or happy. Ordered our food and it took quite a while before the flatbread appetizer arrived. We remember it was good the last time and ordered again. Flatbread was barely warm and bruschetta made the flatbread soggy. Not at all like it used to be. Entrees took a bit but both the sirloin tips and shrimp and scallop fra diavlo were good. Fries that came with the steak tips were lukewarm. Place has so much potential and wish the service level was better. There seems to be a lot of servers but felt ignored except when they finally took our order and gave us food and the check.

Yelp
Excellent food and service overlooking the Merrimack River!!! The staff was helpful in selecting the perfect small plate (scallops limoncello). The Bread is absolutely incredible!!

Yelp
My team and I went here for lunch after a tour at one of our laboratories nearby, and had a really good meal together. Everyone was able to get something they liked. The service was exceptional and the prices were what they should be. We went here on the recommendation of our coworkers, and they were absolutely right. Place is really nice and calming after an overstimulating work day. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Lunch menu and dinner menu is the same. Way too expensive for lunch. Had the braised short ribs for $28. It was good. But too expensive, especially for lunch! Service was below average. Nice location. Especially if you sit outside. Hot hostess too. ;)
google avatar

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Excellent service! Regina was a fantastic server. We sat outside and started with 2 aperol spritz, they were perfectly prepared. For dinner we had the meat lovers pizza, linguini and meatballs, roasted beet salad and caprsese salad. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend.

Elaine F.

Yelp
My husband passed away recently and after the funeral we had the Mercy Meal at Salvatore's Restaurant in Lawrence. It is located overlooking the Merrimack River. There is a beautiful deck with outdoor seating. The meal was just perfect. I selected a buffet that included salad, bread, pasta, meatballs, Chicken Marsalla, and Eggplant Parmesan. Dessert and coffee were included. The food was delicious. There were so many favorable comments from the guests. I would highly recommend this restaurant for dining and events. They do a great job! Yelp
Excellent experience. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, reasonable cost and consistent offerings.

Peggy F.

Yelp
Went to Salvatore's in Lawrence on a week day late afternoon before dinner time. No other patrons were inside which should have been an indication. We ordered fish and chips which were served barely warm! French fries were reheated, clumpy and dead looking yet plentiful and not stingy. Haddock was not a super great portion but okay. The tea was cold and waitress said there was nothing she could do about it since they use a machine for their hot water. We were charged an extra amount of money on the bill because we did not pay with cash. That meal was not worth $20.00 + dollars each. Don't waste your time, money and effort!

Daniel H.

Yelp
Great place to go grab a quick lunch to go or to sit in. Prices are very reasonable, with just enough food to carry you through the day. Service is always to notch, and if you do stay to eat, the river view is very nice.
google avatar

DEBRA B.

Yelp
Food was good and portions were plentiful. A little disappointing in the taste of the Garlic bread and the beef stroganoff.

Mary M.

Yelp
Great place for a function, dinner or a snack. Had a wonderful event for 35 people. Food was delicious! Service was attentive and helpful. Would highly recommend this location.
google avatar

Erika C.

Yelp
HIDDEN GEM and still amazing after all these years. My family and I dined in yesterday for lunch and were able to snag a seat on the patio. First time back here in YEARS. Amazing service and food! My parents split a large pizza and I got the chicken caeser wrap with fries. DELISH. Hostess was friendly and welcoming. Overall what's not to love? Support local! Bravo!
google avatar

Daniel H.

Yelp
Wow, reluctant to give the place a 2nd chance but the new owners and great reviews got me back to the restaurant. It was well worth it. Food much improved, service was great, price was what I expected. Will definitely return.

Lo A.

Yelp
Maybe the restaurant is better than the function room. From reviews that I have seen, I can only assume that. I went to a function there the other night. It was the worst food I have ever seen or tried to eat. At the buffet, the macaroni and meatballs looked so bad, I passed on that. I opted for some caesar salad and a piece of cheese pizza. After eating the salad that was like salad soup because of so much dressing, then a few bites of the pizza, I had to run to the bathroom to throw up. Seriously. I was then sick all night and missed the rest of the party. I will never eat there again. If there is a function that I am compelled to go to, I will eat before I go. Never again. I would give it zero stars if I could, except the people that work there are very nice.
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
Everything about this dinner was perfect. Even though the food took some time to come out (it was busy on Mother's Day) the manager checked on us twice. We were so good and we're taken such good care of. Sincerely just a fantastic way to end our Mothers Day. Our server was amazing and the food was delicious. We had scallops with a limoncello sauce & mozzarella sticks to start. Chicken Parm, sausage with gnocchi & shrimp scampi for dinner. There was so much food and it was incredibly fresh. The drinks were also great. I did not take pics due to yelling at my family to put their phones away. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
We went in lots of space. Old Mill. Nice restaurant. Menu is typical Italian food. Good Mid priced food. Waiter was helpful in getting our choices. Lasagna has no meat. Linguine and meatballs is what I chose. Very salty. Linguine was over cooked. Decor is nice. Came with 3 Meatballs and they were very large. I could only finish 1 took the other 2 home. My friend had the lasagna and she stated it was very salty and a lot of cheese. She could not finish it. It was a little over $40.

Steve B.

Yelp
New Year Party was a total disappointment. Bad food, bad music, huge lines to the bathrooms... Not worth the money.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
The ambiance was not there. It was brightly lit and the music was so loud for just the few tables that were filled. We were disappointed in the food - it was mediocre at best. The service was lovely but not a place I'll be back to.

Colleen W.

Yelp
Denise the bartender is the most AMAZING bartender you'll ever meet. Makes great drinks, makes you feel welcome, runs the place!!! Awesome food and great ambiance.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
Currently here for the New Year's party. Was expecting the food to be made fresh from the kitchen, but it was catered and disgusting. The waiters could literally be seen scooping off so much waste of food. Not just that, but they charge for drinks (even a soda). I would never come back here!!!

Yelp
Dined with a Groupon on a Saturday evening around 5:30 pm. The restaurant was about 20% filled when we arrived. We were greeted and seated immediately and our server came over fairly quickly to offer water and drink order to which we stuck with the tap water. We ordered the Signature Salad to start/share and two entrees: eggplant parm with gluten free pasta and the shrimp and scallops fra diavolo over gluten free pasta. Neither of us have a gluten allergy but try to eat GF options when available. Complimentary sliced italian bread was served with a balsamic/oil dip and of course, we couldn't say "no" to bread. It would have been excellent had the bread been warmed though. I never understand why all italian restaurants don't warm their bread? It's so much better warm with dipping oil Our Signature Salad arrived with the Gorgonzola and dressing on the side as requested. The salad was excellent and my only critique is the red leaf lettuce was whole and would have been easier to eat if it were cut in bite size pieces. It made for a nice presentation whole tho. It wasn't long after we finished our salads, our entrees arrived. Both piping hot! The hubby enjoyed his eggplant. I had a bite and have had more tender eggplant at other local restaurants. My fra diavolo sauce was perfectly spiced with 3 large, fresh scallops and shrimp. My only critique ... a little too much sauce and I would have preferred a little sweeter (vs tangy) sauce. Our server was very friendly, attentive (our water glasses were never empty) and efficient. Liked that there wasn't an up-charge for the GF pasta. By the time we were leaving, the restaurant was about 60% full. Good value with a Groupon, a little pricey on the eggplant ($20) but fair price on the fra diavolo given the quality of the seafood.

Yelp
Excellent lunch option. They get you through the line quickly. Friendly staff. Option to order to eat in, and grab-and-sit is convenient. I always go with a wrap and homemade chips. All food is made right there in front of you and the wraps are exceptional. Homemade chips are awesome. Very reasonably priced and always very good.

Yelp
So we stopped to get a take out pizza this weekend and decided to eat out on the patio rather than take it home. Pizza (the best) was great as usual and service was very good. Now usually we are there in the evening but this time it was broad daylight and we got a really good look at the patio. It was almost disgusting how dirty it was. All I can say is don't look up or too closely at the floor. Now I realize some bird and insect debris is expected outdoor dining but this was awful. The whole area from top to bottom needs a power wash.

Amy G.

Yelp
We had a 70th birthday party for my mother December 3, 2022 at Salvatore's. Everything was beyond our expectations! The staff was so friendly and accomodating. The food (especially the steak tips) was not only delicious but plentiful. The venue itself was beautiful! Usually, when hosting a party, the host is running around and not enjoying him or herself. This was not the case at Salvatore's. I was able to celebrate my mother and not worry about a thing! My mother is still swooning about her lovely party even today! Absolutely perfect!

jessica s.

Yelp
Had our rehearsal dinner last night at Salvatore's. the waitress AMAZING. I noticed she made sure to have me and fiancé food and drinks out first. The decor was simple but great. And the Food was DELISH. Everything was great and the guests all enjoyed. Ty again

Yelp
Can't get an order straight. Ordered 2 small Pizzas for takeout and they got it wrong. When I called for a refund of the toppings they forgot I was told I had to call "Slice", which is the intermediary they force you to order through online. I can't be bothered to make another calls. So Salvatore's just made some extra money off me because they charged me for things I didn't get. Granted it wasn't a lot but Sal Lupoli probably needs it more than I do. The thing is, it was not the least bit busy in there, no customers, no people waiting, yet they screwed up my order. Keeping up with today's mindset: if you show up for work that's enough, you're automatically a hero -you don't need to do it well or right! Service like that and they will be out of business very soon.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
I really like the food, good service, a little pricey but they give you large portions.....then I saw the bill and their sneaky 3.75% upcharge for cards. I've seen this at a few gas stations and small contractors like my landscaper who say "add 3% if paying with CREDIT card", never DEBIT. This mind you, was not circled until AFTER I paid with my card. My bad for not reading, but who carries cash anymore? Would have been more stars other than the negatives of being in Lawrence and the sneaky bill upcharge.
google avatar

Rachael W.

Yelp
Beyond the view, the service was subpar and food was pretty gross to be honest. Calamari was 95% fried banana peppers with a few tentacles. The salad was so heavily soaked in dressing it was inedible. The waitress while friendly, didn't spend more than two seconds at our table making for what appears to be a relatively calm night seem incredibly rushed because she was just scrambling. This was supposed to be a special date night for my husband and I and while my company was good and the view, we won't return.
google avatar

Jermaine J.

Yelp
To be completely candid, this is some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and spend money on a frozen Digiorno before you buy anything here. Take my word for it, you will be disappointed. Crust is thick to the point where it feels like your eating a load of bread, dough is also severely under cooked. Cheese? Hope you like being constipated bc they add enough of it to guarantee that.

Margarita R.

Yelp
Great service, delicious drinks, and good food. Came here with a party of 14. We were seated immediately. Our appetizers and drinks came out quickly and were tasty. I had the chicken parm with spaghetti instead of the rigatoni and the portion was huge! It was pretty good, not the best but definitely worth it if you're in the area.

Yelp
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Went with a group of gal pals for V-Day dinner with a reservation for 13. The restaurant was not busy -- that should have been an indicator right then and there. I did not choose the restaurant and will never return. From the minute I entered, there were problems galore: I was directed to a table that I couldn't access from where the Manager Phil so it turns out showed me to and had to reverse course. Yet despite giving him the reservation name, he wasn't sure if it was the right table and asked me if I recognized anyone! My salad arrived dry after being told it was already dressed. I was never asked what kind of dressing I wanted. I ordered chicken/eggplant parm. Server told me the plate he place in front of me was chicken/eggplant parm. Turned out it was only eggplant parmigiana. They took it back and gave me the correct dinner. The Rigatoni was sorely lacking and luke warm but the eggplant/chicken portion was perfect. Servers gave others the wrong entrees too and had to take it all back and correct it. One attendee with dietary restrictions was given the wrong entree with everything she asked not be on her plate. They couldn't get it right the second time either. The waitress tried to make it right by giving us separate checks instead of one for the table. Well, the checks were not only all wrong but some had a 20% gratuity automatically added in while others did not! The waitress asked the Manager to come over to speak to us 3 times and he didn't until I made the request. When Manager Phil finally came over, he asked what he could do. I told him that we shouldn't have to tell him how to do his job, and he should know how to make it right. He just stood there and merely gave us his name should we return. Huh? Oh, he gave the attendee with dietary restrictions free dessert to take home. She didn't end up eating anything as she sent everything back. What saved the evening was going with the flow, good conversation, and some good laughs amongst ourselves. Sal's is an unprofessional disaster all around.

Yelp
Went to a comedy show and figured we will eat right there. The drinks and salads were great, the entree's absolutely horrible. The pasta tasted like it was left over from the night before, the veal parmigiana had zero flavor. Would only go back to watch the comedy show and definitely eat someplace else.

Yelp
Brought my mother, father and sister here for a belated family Mother's Day dinner. I knew going into it there isn't much for vegans to eat, especially ones with a gluten intolerance but this is where my mom wanted to go. They have gluten free pasta and also red sauce- Vegan option. But, they charge the same price as the pasta with fish or meat in it so I ordered a gluten free pizza crust, sauce, mushrooms, garlic and olives. What I got, photo I posted, was a crust, with little to no sauce, no garlic but it had the mushrooms and olives... Not sure why saying no cheese translates into no sauce or hardly any but that is what I got. My mom didn't like her dish either, there was no garlic, the item said it had garlic- Pehaps, we visited on a day of a garlic shortage. Anyway bill was 127 all together, wasn't great. My suggestions are to add some gluten free bread for dipping or even a gluten free bread stick, have an actual appetizer that is vegan (even a cheap vegetable/ hummus dip would be good) add a price for pasta/ marinara that is comparable to what you're getting and don't charge it as the same as a meat dish and remember to put sauce on your pizzas even if there's no cheese.

Yelp
Had a function there tonight. Food was great.. amazing. Mostly, though the service was amazing. These days when service is subpar, we were all so happy with the service we received. Bar tender was amazing. So good to us, as if he belonged to our party. Above and beyond. I wish I remembered his name. Eggplant, chicken.. all so good. Thank you for a memorable night. All the staff was amazing. Highly recommend.
