Good Service, But Food Falls Short of Expectations** As newcomers to the area, we've now tried three different Salvatore's locations. While we appreciate the consistently great service and broad selection of dishes, the food itself didn't quite meet expectations as traveling foodies. Unfortunately, many of the dishes we ordered--from entrees to salads--tended to be overly greasy and salty. Even the tiramisu was underwhelming, lacking the quality we've found in local bakeries like Kroger. That said, Salvatore's has a lot of potential. If the flavors and preparation were refined, we'd happily return. For now, it's a decent option, but not yet the standout Italian dining experience we were hoping for.

The value for the money is the name of the game here. I mean, the “small” portion sizes are massive. Insane massive. I can’t imagine what the large size is. Super solid experience. Service was top notch and came complete with to go cups without asking. I would come again for sure. Pictures included are half of the original small portions. Seriously.

The food was better then some of the pricier Italian restaurants we've been to. The server Sadie was very welcoming and one of the friendliest servers. I watched and noticed that all the servers I seen were very good. The manager or owner even walked by and checked in on us. It was very convenient to many hotels in area to. House Sangria is Amazing as well.

While in Fort Wayne I had to try another Pizza place. I called in an order for a pepperoni pizza. I was told 20 minutes and it would be ready for pick up. I went in at the 20 minute mark and it was ready and in the warmer up front. Well done! Waitstaff at front was friendly,  and polite. I noticed Salvatori's copper lager beer in the cooler. I had to add one to my pizza order. Paid and headed back to where we stayed which was a 7 minute drive. Pizza was still warm when I arrived. Pizza review: Pizza dough has flavor, it's the flavor that you notice. The crust and dough has no snap whatsoever. It's soft and more bread like. There is almost no red sauce under the cheese. The cheese wasn't greasy at all. Had a very mild flavor. The pepperoni were somewhat bland. Reminded me of pepperoni from a gas station Pizza to be honest. As some who has had quite a few pizzas in my life, this one stood out. Not something I liked much. A flavor in the dough, and the lackluster cheese and pepperoni did it for me. The Salvatori's Copper Red Lager: this beer was brewery by Hop River Brewing in Fort Wayne. This beer was good. Good enough to make me want to go to the Brewery for a flight.

We were in town for a basketball tournament and needed to squeeze in a good lunch between games with about 20 people. We made arrangements ahead of time & they took great care of us. The portions were enormous - especially the sandwiches and reg pasta dishes - even for 16/17 year old boys. I ordered the lunch spaghetti and it was a great size and came with a good sized salad. The value for the price is phenomenal. We would absolutely go back.

Salvatori’s was the perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying brunch. Exactly the kind of place where you can sit back, savor every bite, and let the flavors transport you. I stopped in for brunch, and from the first bite to the last spoonful, it was an experience worth raving about. I started with the Meatball Appetizer, these weren’t just any meatballs. They were tender, hand-rolled perfection, juicy, rich, and infused with just the right blend of seasoning. As I cut into them, they practically melted into the deep, velvety meat sauce that was bursting with slow-cooked, savory goodness. The Mancini peppers and onions added a hint of sweetness and a touch of heat, creating a perfect contrast to the bold, meaty flavors. And then came the crowning glory, a blanket of gooey, golden mozzarella, baked to perfection, stretching with every bite. The toasted garlic bread on the side? Buttery, crisp, and the perfect tool for soaking up every last drop of that incredible sauce. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I took my first sip of the Italian Wedding Soup and it felt like a warm embrace in a bowl. The broth was light yet layered with depth, delicately seasoned to enhance every ingredient without overpowering them. Floating in this rich, golden broth were bite-sized meatballs so tender they practically dissolved on my tongue. The tiny pasta added a satisfying chew, while the onions, carrots, and tomatoes infused a subtle sweetness that balanced out the savory elements. The fresh spinach swirled through each spoonful, bringing brightness and freshness to an already perfect dish. What truly made this meal unforgettable was how beautifully everything worked together—the bold, cheesy indulgence of the meatballs meeting the delicate warmth of the soup. Every bite, every sip, every flavor felt intentional, like a symphony of textures and tastes playing in perfect harmony. I’ll definitely be back for more!

My husband and I decided to try this place instead of Olive Garden and we are so glad we did. The service is absolutely amazing. There was at least 1 person up at the host stand at all times. Everyone we personally came across were all so friendly and ready to help or answer questions. When I went to find the bathroom, I didn’t even have to say words lol. I think it was a manager speaking with 2 or 3 other employees up by the host stand and they noticed me right away. The manager instantly greets me with a smile and asks if I need help with anything or if I was looking for the bathroom, like she could read my mind lol. All I had to say was yes and thank you lol. The only downfall I found from this place was that there aren’t any trash cans inside the stalls for feminine hygiene products. The bathroom was very clean though and the stall door locked, which is always a bonus lol. The bartender was so on point with everything and really knew his stuff. I don’t know if he ever responded to my questions with any answer close to “I don’t know” or “I’m not sure”. The fact that he boxed our leftovers up for us was mind blowing. I haven’t been to a restaurant with that level of service in YEARS! We honestly didn’t feel like we even had to wait long for our food. We ordered an appetizer when we ordered our drinks. He brought our drinks to us and we talked a little bit about the menu and ordered our meals. I went to the bathroom and came back to our appetizer and my husband already digging into his salad. We finished our appetizer and maybe waited 4 minutes until our entrees came out. It was the fastest service we have had in awhile. As far as the food goes, it was good and worth the money. You get what you pay for. We had the bruschetta for our appetizer and it was perfect. The Caesar salad was fresh. My husband ordered one of the specials. I think it was a Cajun sausage pasta? I can’t remember now. He loved it though. I had the Chicken Parmigiana and there was enough pasta on my plate to feed 3 people lol. The sauce was good and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the chicken was the worst I’ve ever had at a restaurant lol. It was so dry and chewy. I LOVE chicken parm and I think Olive Garden beat them by a long shot in the flavor department and the fact they give you breadsticks and salad. However, Salvatori’s charged $1-$2 less than OG does and they fill their massive plates. My husband NEVER has leftovers to take home, (even after eating the endless breadsticks and salad at OG), and he didn’t get through half of this dish if that tells you anything about portion size. If you are looking for great service and Italian food, I definitely recommend coming here. I will return in the future for sure.

Google
AMAZING! Come hungry…the portions are huge!! A half order of any of the pasta is plenty, but get the full and take some home for a couple bucks extra! Service was amazing. We had our food within 5-10 min of ordering. Food was some of the best Italian I’ve ever had. Can not say enough good things about this place!!

Yelp
When looking for great Italian food, we turn to Salvatori's. Service is friendly and quick. This location is usually quiet and sets the mood for a nice lunch date. We split the Mama Daphne, had Bosco Sticks, Caesar Salads and a side of fettuccini Alfredo. Excellent!! Not over filling but incredibly satisfying. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
My group got an order for pickup - one of the meals got left out of the bag. Check your orders before you leave! There was supposed to be melted cheese over the baked ravioli, and no melty cheese was there. Otherwise the rest of the group enjoyed our food (and shared with the person with no meal). I had a salad with salmon on top and it was good but not anything special or exciting, like I'd eat it again but I'm not going to crave it. Overall solid three stars.

Yelp
This review is for the Mana Daphane sandwich. This sandwich is loaded with meats. The bread is soft but nicely grilled. This kinda tastes like a Italian Stromboli on bread - absolutely delicious!!

Robert W.

Yelp
Everything was great! I had spaghetti and 1 meatball. I couldn't eat it all. My wife got manicotti. That she ate all of!
google avatar

Jen D.

Yelp
Despite having a large group the restaurant easily accommodated us. The food was served in huge portions and tasted great. Despite a couple of hiccups with the checks our server did a good job sorting out our complex orders.

Yelp
This is a great local place that also does an amazing amount of takeout. I sat in the bar area it was nice and quiet with TVs to watch. My salad and dinner were both outstanding and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommended Italian

Yelp
The food is delicious. If you get carry out make sure you get your whole order or you will be driving back to get the rest with a lame apology.

Yelp
Wow! The hotel manager recommended this place. It was amazing I ordered the Basilicata it was amazing! I sat in the bar area and the bartender was very friendly and offered great recommendations. The best recommendation was to order the small...OMG... 2 people could split the small. I sat in the bar area it was nice. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What is not to LOVE ... at SALVATORI'S! Like for real ...from the minute we walked in ... to the minute we walked out complete PERFECTION! The place knows how to welcome their guests! We were treated like family. Who better to prepare your meal ... but Family! The drinks are top notch! Our group are HUGE fans of the blackberry old fashions. The salads are fresh & busting with Italian flavors! The main course ... well I haven't had anything that wasn't a 10 out of a 10 ... but tonight... the monthly special... Petros' Pasta ... folks RUN do not walk ... this masterpiece is a 12 out of 10! We all know the portions are huge here but wowza our to go container weighed 3lbs lol. Seriously what's not to love ... breaded chicken parm ... (delicately I might add) &"with a creamy Fettuccine Alfredo. Chefs kiss! Finally... our server Skyler .. this young man was the real deal! Customer service & hospitality... 12 out of 10! He's now our family too! This soon to be a dad was perfection!!! Treat this guy well ... he's a GEM! Salvatori I think you just keep getting better with age. You truly have an amazing team ... kudos to that well oiled machine - perfection!

Yelp
Used to have great sausage rolls but it seems they have switched to leftover sausage for the pizzas to make them.

Yelp
Honestly, I think the food is Bland. I love the huge portions, but not really good flavors in the pastas. The 4 times I went and ordered salad with no onions, it always came with onions, unfortunately. Drinks are expensive, and the sauces are bland and runny.
google avatar

Yelp
Italian is one of the toughest cuisines to make food the right way, but Salvatori's did authentic food perfectly! We sat down by the bar area and our server was such a sweetheart! She was very knowledgeable and friendly, and took excellent care of our visit all while keeping herself busy around the clock. I ordered the pasta apulia with Italian beef. Their pasta was cooked just right with plenty of sauce, and the beef was juicy with some moderate amount of spice. After a deep dive into finishing the pasta, the dinner was well worth the price! The ambiance was very one of a kind, where the bar side was very well lit with ample lighting. I absolutely recommend trying this restaurant instead of settling for boring chain food. I can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
I had spaghetti with giant meatballs, cucumber tomato salad, and of course breadsticks and it was all delicious! Service is always given with a smile.

Yelp
What a wonderful treat in Ft Wayne! In town for a basketball tournament and the service was among the best I've had in any restaurant in years. From the little touches in the waiting room to the attentive service it was a pleasure dining here. Portion size was so much we had lunch for the next day. I will be back and bring a group next time I'm in Ft Wayne.

Yelp
I ordered an Italian beef flatbread. I was concerned but interested. It ended up being very tasty and even dipping it in the au jus was good. The ambiance reminds me of a Pizza Hut but nicer right down to the red tumbler glasses. The best part of the meal was the service! The whole staff was super friendly and nice. It was the end of the night and we felt like everyone just started their shift. Full of oomph!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm really surprised by all the great reviews. The service is top notch. But the food...It was soooooo under seasoned and just kind of boring. I do want us to try it again and get something else. Pros: The waiter was on top of it! He was great! Probably the best Moscato I've ever had in my life!! Large portions. Cons: Most of the food was very bland. I had to add a ridiculous amount of salt to my spinach ravioli. The breadsticks could not have been more mediocre. I just expected so much since the reviews were so good!

Yelp
a large group of us stopped in after wedding without reservations. staff did an amazing job of accommodating us. Service was outstanding and food exceptional (as always). Thank you for making the occasion even more memorable.

Yelp
Always so good! We had Bosco sticks for the first time. Sooo good! We got the cheese dip and the marinara. I actually favored the marinara dip, but this was excellent! Try the Mamma Daphne sandwich! Dip that meaty sandwich in the house Italian dressing. OMG!!! Or try the Chicken Parmesan! There's so much food! It's so good!!!
google avatar

Jalyce M.

Yelp
So the food was delicious but let's talk about the portion size. The plate of baked spaghetti was sooooo large that i shared it with 3 other people when I got home. The breadsticks were so delicious and came with 2 different dipping sauces. The white sauce was ammmmmmaaaazzzzing. So delicious the next visit I will get the spinach ravioli that comes with the sauce. I was so hesitant to get the sauce because I didn't know what it would be like but regretted not getting it immediately after. It was every flavor I never need I needed.

Yelp
Prior to visiting this location I had been a loyal patron to the New Haven location. That location is in a gas station and small as heck. But this location is a real restaurant! It's huge and very nicely designed. It looks like a nice Italian restaurant indeed. Salvatori's is amazing!!! One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in my life, including in Rome. Chicken parmesan is my fave. It's so filling! But the spinach cheese ravioli is incredible as well. I also like the olive oil and pepper dish too. Service is prompt and the food comes out quickly. I love this placen

Yelp
Mama mia, terrific spagetti and meatballs!! Wonderful service and welcoming staff. We were passing thru travelling home to Fort Payne Alabama and stopped nearby for the night. What a great treat!

Yelp
This is my new favorite restaurant. The food is delicious..no matter what you order. Fernando was our waiter and he was fabulous... Attentive..got the order right, and greeted us with the nicest smile. He's the best and I told him he'll be the next manager soon. The manager was great too. Can't remember her name. But checked in with us a few times. Wonderful experience and will let everyone know about Salvatories. Jillian Short.

Yelp
Everything, you cannot miss at this restaurant. The bar is friendly the drinks are flavorful. The food is delicious whether you want pizza or something else off the menu. My personal preference is their lasagna, hot from the oven dripping with cheese add a little red pepper flakes and wow. But if I want something for two meals I order the baked pasta. That's it I take it any longer I am off maybe I'll see you there?

Leanne T.

Yelp
I was extremely impressed with the service. Our server was great, plus the owner or manager stopped by several times to make sure we were having a good experience. When I mentioned that I didn't expect so many veggies in the linguine with clam sauce, they brought me a different dish at no charge! The Vusili Scampi was delicious! Bread and marinara sauce were great too.
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
The service was great! My server was very friendly and attentive and the manager also was very friendly as well. I can tell they strive to be the best in service. I personally am not into Pepsi products, so no soda for me today, but their water was good. I got the Italian Beef Sandwich and a side cucumber tomato salad. The salad was good and reminded me of how my mom used to make it when I was a kid - I do wish it had a little more salt, but there is a shaker to add as you please at the table. The sandwich was good, but IMO not an Italian Beef sandwich. The flatbread that they used tasted very good and fresh, but it was not what I expected for this type of sandwich. Also they put cheese on their version which I did not realize until after I got it - that's on me though it was listed on the menu and I overlooked it. I feel it was more a Philly Cheesesteak quesadilla than an Italian Beef Sandwich. The beef and broth they had were very tasty though! Not bad - just not what I was looking for. I'd like to try maybe some of their pasta dishes and breadsticks next time I go to give them another shot.

Amanda E.

Yelp
My family and I went there for lunch and it was delightful. The wait staff, very polite and knowledgeable about the menu items, and the restaurant is very clean. Food was good but, the berry tiramisu is on point.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to Salvatori's on Washington Center for the first time last night. Now, I've been to the one on Dupont and loved the food, great service, and casual atmosphere, but it was a completely different atmosphere at this location. Washington Center feels a bit more polished for a date night, while maintaining the inviting vibe of the other. It was great service from being greeted by the hosts and managers at the entry to our knowledgeable and accommodating server. That's before mentioning the huge portions of delicious food at a very reasonable price! The Chianti was perfect with the hand-rolled manicotti and meat sauce. The mussels appetizer was perfectly prepared in the most amazing tomato based sauce/broth. We have so many leftovers that we're excited to eat today! Shout out to our server (Johnny, I believe?) who was one of the best servers I've seen. Ever. His section was completely full, and somehow he has a presence that put us at ease and never made us feel rushed. Thanks for a great evening! I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Good Italian food. Ambiance is ok. Service is friendly and quick. Price isn't too bad. Nice place for a quick and easy authentic italian
google avatar

Nanci L.

Yelp
Both our meals were very good. Portions were ample. Service was good. Cheese bread appetizer was good. However, the only water available, tap water, is the WORST water I have ever tasted. It's not the restaurant's fault- it's the city water. But it made the ice tea taste weird, too. I'm just not into drinking chemicals. I really wish they had bottled water available. Normally I'd have ordered wine, but we'd already visited a meadery and I didn't want to drink more alcohol. It was not optimal to go through the whole dinner without a drink. And it makes me wonder- the pasta cooks in that water, too. Again, at our hotel- the water was also awful tasting. If the wait staff already acknowledges that it's bad- why not just have bottled options.

Yelp
Linguine with Chopped Clams Linguine tossed with sweet chopped clams, mushrooms, peas, carrots, fresh spinach, and your choice of a garlic butter sauce or light red sauce. 15.99 So this is what I ordered. What I got was some canned baby clams, a tiny piece of spinach, a few noodles and a TON of frozen peas and carrots. I was hungry and excited about a new Italian place! This was by far the worst Italian meal I've ever had. And close to the worst restaurant meal. The little Caesar salad was almost as bad as the entree. The tiny piece of bread on top of each was pretty good! I won't be going back.
google avatar

Cassandra S.

Yelp
The food is amazing and the service was great even tho there was a lot of customers eating at the time. The location is well maintained nice clean environment.

Yelp
Overrated IMOO. I rate The Italian Connection as better Italian restaurants better than Salvatore's.
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
The service and the food are fantastic! I highly recommend going to Salvatori's you will not be disappointed.

Susyn G.

Yelp
Food and service was good. Had an early dinner with friends and we hadn't seen each other for a year, on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was less than half full, but after we paid, our waiter told us they would need our table. We felt our business was not welcomed. We probably stood another 20 minutes outside to finish our conversation. We won't be back. I alone spent $50. If I were management I would've offered another table so we could finish our visit. Management was not cordial, which added to our dissatisfaction of Salvatori's!
google avatar

Yelp
My team and I travel to Ft Wayne every other year for our alpaca national show! This is the best restaurant I eaten at so far. Everyone at the table- there were 10 of us- were swooning. I had the Cavatelli Pesto. Wow! I ordered the small and took half home. The periods were large and oh-so-good! Next to me, someone had the Fettuccini Alfredo. Excellent! The drinks were good and the Cannolis were good. Casual and easy with a true Italian flair.

Yelp
We had dinner on New Years Eve 2022 around 6:30/7:00 pm it wasn't crowded at all. I have never been here before, as we are from Michigan. (We decided on a whim to try it out). To our surprise it was incredibly good. I had no idea this restaurant was rated so highly within the local community! I was glad we picked something local and not a chain restaurant. For appetizer - we had the meatballs. The meatballs came with a homemade sauce with green peppers topped with cheese. My husband had the calzone and I had the spinach ravioli. The entrees were large as the ravioli comes in orders of 2 or 4. Get the 4 so you can leftovers for lunch or dinner tomorrow. You won't regret it. The ravioli comes with a white alfredo sauce with mushrooms and a skinny toasted slice of bread. The calzone was baked with hearty ingredients. Husband ate half as it was quite large, but glad he had leftovers for tomorrow! Husband ordered a beer and I had the house sangria. Everything was delicious! Once we finished we headed up to the bar and finished our drinks and watched the Michigan game with the bar staff and folks in the bar. Everyone was super friendly and everyone chimed in on the game. We had a great New Year's- I couldn't ask for a more authentic Italian restaurant. Definitely a return visit-a must for anyone in the area!

Yelp
The service isn't bad;however I personally have a preference for Casa Italian food -vs- Salvatori's. Otherwise the service is pleasant.

Yelp
I had my first visit to Salvatori's ! What an excellent dining experience. I was quite pleasantly surprised. The food, vibe, ambiance were all very nice. I went to their newest location, on Washington Center Rd. They've got a nice space with a quiet warm decor. There is plenty of parking, albeit, the front spaces are somewhat cramped, to my view. The entrance and exit are easy to access from Washington Center. The staff appeared efficient and cordial. The wait was minimal and the price was comparable to other dining experiences in the area. I had the sausage and peppers and my companion had the fettuccine Alfredo. They were each flavored well with ample portions. The sausage and peppers a nice thick rigatoni pasta with thick slices of onion and bell pepper. The sausage had a nice mild flavor. The fettuccine had a nice thick cream sauce and was flavored well. Each dinner dish was so large, they cooks have easily been shared 3 ways. We had so much food leftover. The clear winner of this visit was the breadsticks. They are amazing. They were so flavorful. Each bit better than the rest. If there was a favorite the food and breadsticks each share the position.

Dee W.

Yelp
We went here today and the staff and the food were both very great! We tried the pizza, baked spaghetti supreme, baked ziti, and an order of garlic cheese bread. The baked spaghetti was the star out of all our choices! Their meat sauce is so flavorful! The portion sizes were incredible too! Unfortunately we were too full for dessert but they sounded wonderful too. If you love Italian food you will love this place!!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Fort Wayne so far! Excellent service - everyone was super friendly and greeted us upon arrival and frequently checked in to make sure our dining experience met our expectations. The Italian margarita was a whole pint of margarita! The lasagna and chicken parmesan were delicious!! The chicken parmesan was about 3 servings and tasted just as great as leftovers. Will definitely return!
google avatar

Aaron C.

Yelp
It was Cind de Mayo, so we headed out for Italian in order to miss all the crowds at The Fort's fine Mexican establishments. We were seated right away and ordered an appetizer of breadsticks and drinks. My wife had an Italian margarita which was quite tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. They re-did the interior from when it was a Richard's restaurant and it looks great. Everything we ordered was tasty, hot and fresh. It's nice to have another local Italian option in the city. My only "knock" was that the drinks were a tad pricey, but we'll be back.
google avatar

Linda W.

Yelp
We were too tired to go out and eat but too tired to cook. That is the reason I called Salvatori's for take out. Since I am way too cheap to pay for delivery my son was kind enough to pick up dinner for us. So glad we ordered our food from Salvatore's as it was absolutely delicious. Everything was pipping hot when it arrived and cooked perfectly. I know how hard it is to keep food this consistently good. But Salvatore's nailed it. Burp.
google avatar

Tyler K.

Yelp
They've done a fantastic job remodeling this place into Salvatori's. The bar is a great place for lunch, cocktail, or a dinner. The food is the same as you're used to getting at the other locations, which means it's great. You won't be disappointed by your meal or portion size here.
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
I was craving my favorite dish from Salvatori's so my hubby took me out to dinner. I was so sad to see the menu has changed and they no longer had my favorite dish. And the food didn't taste home made it was like it was premade and microwaved. I think we are done with eating at Salvatori's now.
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
Food tasty with way too much food for one to eat. Make sure you get a doggy bag. Service was quick and friendly. Everybody made me feel at home.

Jess L.

Yelp
Great experience! Food was so great and fresh. The service was spectacular. We will definitely be back and tell everyone we know.

Yelp
Our food was excellent and the portion size was huge and made the cost negligible. Our server was a Mexican male and he was very professional and polite. This restaurant is very clean and decorative. I highly recommend this eating establishment.
