"The ever-growing Sam Adams opened a multi-level taproom a couple of years back — complete with an expansive roof deck — steps from Faneuil Hall. The bustling downtown spot is the perfect place to take your visiting family after a day of hiking the Freedom Trail for a beer from the rotating taps and a bite from the menu of chicken tenders and loaded tots." - Tanya Edwards, Eater Staff

Absolutely love this establishment. Pure Boston from beginning to end. A great experience seeing the process and tasting the final product. Too many beers to taste in one day. Food and service was spectacular. 5 stars for everything.

Saturday it was busy and hard to get a spot. Only bar service. Weather was great to take a break from 5 mile walk in the city. Had flights, shorts and some warm pretzels with mustard and cheese sauce. Over all a great break and enjoyable time. If visiting the Quincy Market stop at the taproom.

This is more like a tourist trap, one-time experience that kinda place. Beer: not impressed by the beer on tap. We skipped a few that we tried them on cans ( which consider the better ones) and go for something more exclusive. Just not impressed at all, super basic, not as described. All we’ve done were just a beer flight, which is extremely rare for our brewery visit. Food: Waay overpriced for the quality and taste. The lobster roll was nothing special (other than the price), omg the cheese flatbread was terrible! Seems something you can make at home and taste better. Ambience: it is definitely a nice spot to enjoy the view of the city. Finding a seat can be challenging so spare sometimes if you plan to visit.

Google
Love this place. Spacious place, nice vibes, variety of menu including food options, and of course, beers. We tried flight and each was very good. Souvenir shop is next to the tap house, you can get original Sam Adam’s products there.

Google
Very spacious, with plenty of seating and a wide variety of seating options: stools, benches, bleachers, arm chairs, etc. We didn't spend too long here, but I bought my wife a beer and she enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly, and it's beautiful inside. They also have a couple of free arcade games!

No ciders and just two sours... limited fruity, sweet options unfortunately. Good vibes and live music on the weekends. Big space two levels. Great city view on the rooftop. Bar food available.

Google
Nice taproom down near Quincy Market. A little corporate in its feel with corresponding prices. Does flights with exclusive brews which are some of Adam’s best. Has food and live music at times.

Emily did a fabulous job! She allowed us to sample different beers before we made our decision. Emily was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The beers were delicious. I adored the Leap Beer. This milk stout had a perfect touch of cinnamon and cayenne.

Yelp
Samuel Adams Boston Brewery is a craft brewery that opened in Boston, Massachusetts in 1989. It was founded by business partners Jim Koch and Rhonda Kallman. Koch descends from five generations of brewmasters and Kallman was originally his secretary. The company was officially launched as 'Boston Beer Company' in 1984. The beer was initially contract brewed by Pittsburgh Brewing Company. Koch began marketing his new product door-to-door. The first beer he made was the Samuel Adams Boston Lager, and the first keg was tapped at Doyle's Cafe. In 1989, Koch was able to acquire enough money to lease the old Haffenreffer Brewery in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Although the company is still officially called the Boston Beer Company, the beer has been branded under the name "Samuel Adams" in reference to the first beer they brewed. The Boston Brewery is where all Samuel Adams beers are created; it is thought of as their test kitchen. All Samuel Adams beers purchased in stores and bars are brewed at two larger production breweries in Cincinnati, Ohio and Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Today, the Boston Beer Company is the 4th largest brewery in the United States. They also own Angry Orchard Hard Cider and they merged with the popular Delaware-based Dogfish Head Brewery in 2019. I recently visited Samuel Adams' Downtown Boston Taproom while I was cycling around Boston. I visited the brewery back in 2018, but this was my first trip to the Downtown Taproom (which opened next to Faneuil Hall in January 2020). The gorgeous taproom has three levels and is just steps away from the famous statue of the real Samuel Adams. After exploring the interior, I settled at the bar in the basement level. The Downtown Taproom features several experimental beers that are exclusive to this location. I decided to order a sampler flight of only these brews. It featured "Weize Guys" (Hefeweizen), "House Hazy" (Pale Ale), "Leap Beer" (Milk Stout), and "Auto-Graf" (Apple Brandy Barrel-Aged Wild Golden Ale with Apple Juice; a collaboration with Angry Orchard Hard Cider). The latter was my favorite! I paired the beers with some delicious "Pretzels" (served with mustard and beer cheese). I had a really nice experience at the Samuel Adams Downtown Boston Taproom and I look forward to returning!

Yelp
Went to this place for lunch and got the flight and steak and cheese egg rolls. You order at a counter and then they give you a thing that will buzz when your food is ready. I enjoyed all 4 drinks with my flight. The steak and cheese egg rolls were kind of overpriced and were ok. They came out very hot and the sauce was good

Yelp
Samuel Adams is a popular beer company founded locally in Massachusetts. The Tap Room downtown is a great place to take your family or a group of friends for a light drink and good food near North End. There's plenty of indoor seating and rooftop seating at this Brewery - it's great for big groups. My friend and I signed up for a Twilight tasting class to learn about the beer making process and to do a sampling of 8 of Sam Adams' popular beers. We stayed after in the brewery to finish our flight, shopped at the gift shop, and ate good food during our visit too. During the twilight tasting, our guide did a great job explaining the beer making process and showing us important machinery to accomplish crafting beers. He also did a great job keeping the crowd engaged, was very knowledgable about Sam Adams' history, and described the flavor profiles of the beers very eloquently. The twilight tasting was also a reasonable price and great experience that I'd recommend to any beer aficionado. The food after was really good as well for the price. We ordered pretzels and a bee sting pepperoni pizza at the bar and picked it up at the station downstairs. The Sam Adams sauce was a great flavor addition to both the pizza and pretzels and the pizza paired well with the beers. I'd definitely recommend going back!

Yelp
This place has incredible brews. They had a matcha one that was super unique but the cherry beer was absolutely delicious, it had a strong hint of cherry and was so sweet and refreshing. I'm not a huge beer person but it was delicious. The vibes were really good as well given that Samuel Adams is a large chain. The prices were super reasonable as well, overall all things considered I'd recommend.

Yelp
Great tots and great seating overlooking the plaza! Make this a quick pitstop as you're doing the freedom trail exploring Boston. It's a great place to come for a quick apps and drinks!

Michael L.

Yelp
We didn't have a lot of time to spend here but wanted to stop in and have a look-see. They had 20 beers on tap so we had a small sampling. We had the Fenway IPA, the Summer Ale, and the Pilsner. They were all crisp and delicious. Also ordered a pretzel with the cheese sauce and mustard. The pretzel had the right amount of salt and it was warm and soft on the inside. It was very filling and definitely want to come back when the weather is warmer and not pressed for time.

Rowan W.

Yelp
I knew I had to visit the Sam Adams tap room while I was in Boston, and I'm glad I did! I really dug the outdoor patio upstairs that overlooks some of the nearby streets... Bostonians, you know much better than I do what the name of the place is... The food is standard snack-type stuff, but the pretzel was a-okay in my book and the chicken tenders were fine, too. It was novel getting a chance to order their Oktoberfest on tap, so that was a plus. Generally good all around. I like the setup - place your food order at the bar, then go pick it up once it's ready. Everything there is set up to accommodate, mustard and ketchup packets included. It's definitely a nice little spot to check out.

Yelp
For what COULD have been a very obvious tourist trap, the Sam Adams Tap Room right next to Faneuil Hall was far better than you might think! I'm a sucker for a fresh brew from at or near the source (I'm sorry, beer just tastes better when it's not shipped a hundred miles or more away). This was no exception. There were four of us, and it was early afternoon on a Friday. The place was busy, but there were still plenty of open seats, so there was no wait for a table. We scanned the menu, ordered a different brew each, and one order of pretzels to share at the table. (This was our only mistake... should have ordered two). The pretzels were good, as was the beer cheese with it. The mustard was a nice surprise, being more sweet than spicy. One order has what amounts to one whole soft pretzel (it was, in reality, two individual loops of a pretzel). This is why I think we should have bought two for the four of us, so each person had their own loop. But, still, it was enough for a light snack. And very tasty to boot. The beers, though, were well worth the visit. Not overly expensive, especially for the location, the brews were varied, fresh, and oh-so-delicious! We sampled the Winter Lager, Cherry Wheat, Weiss Weiss Baby, and The Rickey. Each one was unique in its own way, but no one single beer was head and shoulders above the rest. But, that's in a good way, as we each found them all so very good! Seriously, it was a nice stop for a refreshing cold one (despite the late Fall temps outside). I would definitely recommend this place for any passing visitor. The ambiance was modern and chic, the staff were very helpful, and the vibes were so relaxing and chill. One last note: if you spend an extra buck, you can get a ticket for a free pint glass at the gift shop as well. They are pre-wrapped and ready to go, so you don't need to rinse your current glass or anything like that. Well worth the cost!

Brandon K.

Yelp
Personally am not a fan of Samuel Adams beer, but this is a great spot to visit whether you're a tourist or a local. The ambiance is nice: you get the privacy you need despite it being so busy, and you have access to great views of nearby landmarks... The beer choices range from not very good to okay, but I also may have just ordered the worst of the lot...I ordered the brick red, and it indeed tasted like a brick... I would definitely recommend coming here if you are an enthusiast of ales and beers

Kyley S.

Yelp
This is a great place for the beer lover! We had appetizers and a few beers before heading off to dinner. Although the dinner was fantastic I could have eaten more appetizers and a few more beers to call it a meal. The atmosphere is awesome. Lots of open tables but they are first come first serve. The beer selection is awesome. I had to go with the Brick Red to start. And then did a sampler to try a few more out. Yes I know I did it backwards, but the Brick Red is a fantastic beer and i wanted to start with the full glass. Overall would recommend this place,, but beware they only serve beer as there are no other cocktails for order.

Yelp
The easiest five stars I've given yet. The service was insane. Everyone was so nice and before I even got the chance to ask for the bartenders attention they were asking if I was needing anything. The beer was phenomenal. I got a flight (see picture to see which beers I picked) and the sour was what I ended up with. Got two more before I left. My friend ordered the seltzer after the flight and I took a few sips- was delicious and pretty (pink) :). We also got the pretzel which was really yummy. Beer cheese was soooo good. Not to mention they had outlets and we were able to charge our phones at the bar :D Upstairs was so bright and had such a pretty view. If I came back to Boston- it's a must. Yes yes 100x yes.

Doris D.

Yelp
Great place to stop and have a drink while on the Freedom Trail. Friendly staff and have some local brews that's made locally. A must stop for sure.

Garrett B.

Yelp
Came during Pride month and it was all decked out with awesome pride stuff. The Love Conquers Ale beer they made for Pride is actually really good. Well balanced and tasty. The other great beer they have is Beer of Plenty Kiwi series. Bartenders are really nice and took my order fast. Inside has a bunch of seating over 3 stories worth. They just need to add board games or something to play while you're there, maybe connect four or simple card games for patrons.

Kevin B.

Yelp
We've been to the Sam Adams brewery several times and love touring it, so we were excited that they opened up a tap room in the center of Boston near Faneuil Hall. The taproom is very spacious and is a great place for a large group, but it does also have seating for smaller groups or couples, so it can definitely accommodate lots of different people. We only got drinks, so I can't comment on the food, but the beer was good and they had quite a few different beers on tap, so there's definitely something for everyone. This was a great spot for us and we loved being able to relax and enjoy some good beer in a great setting.

John S.

Yelp
Good beer, friendly staff and A great view. I would definitely go there again. It's where I consider downtown Boston close to everything within walking distance.

Shari D.

Yelp
Greeted at the door by a friendly man who happily answered a couple of my questions. 2 bars, lots of space and a huge screen with Sunday football on. A variety of exclusive beers here hard to choose but my favorite was the Sour Hour. Had 2 flights ($18 each) of 4 different beers.

Lisa T.

Yelp
I've never been a huge Sam Adams fan, but since we were in Boston we decided to give it a try. It's located right across from Faneuil Hall in the center of Boston. It's a pretty big place and they have a "bouncer" outside that cards absolutely everybody. They have several bars, (we went to the one in the back by the large brewing tanks.). They also have many long beer hall style tables downstairs and additional seating upstairs. It looks like they host a lot of events there from trivia to dj parties on the evenings and weekends. They had about 20 beers on tap, so I decided to try a flight. The bartender was really helpful in making our selections; and she actually let us sample the beers first. I went with the traditional seasonal beer (Summer Ale,,) and 3 other wheat beers. I loved them all! One was a cherry wheat flavor, and one was brewed with lychee flavoring. I actually liked all 4 samples and the samples were pretty big as far as flights go. My husband tried a sparkling lager called Land of the Goths and a beer that I think was called Mid-Summer Lovin'. He liked them both too. SA Taproom also serves some food. We ordered a ham and cheese panini to share. They give you a restaurant beeper that lights up when food is ready. The sandwich was ready quickly and tasted really yummy. It also came with a bag of Ruffles chips. Overall I was impressed with the Sam Adams Taproom! It had a great location, lots of beers on tap, good food, fair prices, and a friendly, helpful staff., and so What's not to love?.......even the water is served from a tap!

Yelp
This was one of my favorite stops in downtown Boston. LOCATION The location is phenomenal. They are located right in the middle of downtown Boston, with easy access from all sides of downtown. AMBIANCE The aesthetics of this place is great. As you walk up, you'll notice the second floor open patio. As you walk in you'll see a bar to your right, with plenty of seating facing outdoors, a gift shop to your left and then, as you proceed further strait in, you'll see a large lower level seating area that includes visuals of the brewery, a bar and a food bar to your left. Very cool layout and vibe. SERVICE As I walked up to the lower level bar, I was greeted with a big smile and super friendly service. Once she knew my tastes, she recommeded several beers that I may like. I went with a few of her suggestions and they were great. I enjoyed the two IPA's the most, Wicked Easy & Wicked Hazey. Yum. I honestly love this spot and look forward to visiting again sometime soon.

Yelp
A huge, multi-story tap room in the middle of Boston, highlighting the microbrewery that was at the very front of the craft beer movement. On a summer Saturday afternoon, we stopped in on a whim while we had an hour to kill between tours in downtown Boston. They check for IDs while entering, and you have your choice of sitting inside on the lower level or going upstairs and sit outside, enjoying the summer day. Both floors have large bars with the same selection of beer, and neither was particularly busy. We wanted to try some types of beer that we hadn't before, and there is a large selection to choose from. A flight is $17, and includes 5oz samples of four. We tried the following: - Wicked Easy - Wheat session beer. Very smooth, would use this first as thirst quencher - Passion Fruit Gose - heavier beer with a bit of sweetness balanced with sourness. - Love Conquers All - another wheat beer, promoting LGBTQ acceptance. Not available in the West Coast. - The Real Dill - pickle flavored. Slight taste of pickle brine, very different. Would work well to cut very fatty, greasy foods. Service was pleasant throughout, not intrusive. This would be a great place to have larger gatherings or simple meet-ups, centered around a great choice of different Sam Adams beer. Also learned that the picture on each bottle is that of Paul Revere, NOT Sam Adams. I can't help but feel I should have already known that... (or I did learn about it a long time ago but it never stuck in my memory)

Yelp
What an amazing space for a catered event! This space in the financial district Faneuil Hall. Paperless Parts rented out the top floor for our Happy Hour after day 1 of the Power 23 conference. Second floor of the restaurant has a great space with huge patio for mingling. It was too cold to be outside much. The spread of tacos was exceptional! Most every flavor from tuna to carnitas. Warm chips, and four different kinds of salsas and cremas. Poblano, pineapple, pico, and something else. Kind of messy to eat these tacos but worth the humiliation in front of business partners. They were really good. The beer was even better. Sour Hour and Pink Ink were the sours and fairly light in flavor but not potency. I settled in with a Porch Rocker Belgium Radler that paired well as a refreshing beverage with the heat of the food. Good wasn't spicy but flavorful and didn't clash. The bartenders were hustling. Someone was always cleaning and it wasn't difficult to get a beer at the counter.

Brandi K.

Yelp
I love a good taproom and Samuel Adams does not disappoint! It's quite a large space and thus fits many people. We stopped by on a Saturday October 28th so Halloween weekend. It was packed, but not uncomfortably. The weather was unseasonably warm so the outside spaces were full. We sat inside down where there are the super long picnic tables. You sit with friends and strangers alike. Drinks and food are ordered at the bar. They will keep a tab or close it for you right away. The drinks are instant but the food takes a bit and is placed on a table on one end of the bar. You bring your little vibrating blinky thing to the table and grab your food. We had the cookie flight and the pretzels with a delightful beer cheese and mustard. Every beer we tried was amazing and I'm still dreaming about the cookies.

Minelie A.

Yelp
5/5...It's Samuel Adam and I cant add more or less...It's worth it...Stop by if you are passing by...The cold beer doesnt hurt anybody specially that you have the full list of different tastes in front of you...Kudos to all workers here.

Crystal B.

Yelp
Beers were tasty, but service was meh. From the moment we stepped up to the bar to order, we felt rushed. Yes, we arrived 35 minutes prior to closing and yes we knew that. My husband and I each got a flight and left within 1/2 hour...5 minutes to spare until closing! Such a bummer to feel so rushed with what otherwise could have a been a fun experience!

Florence K.

Yelp
A lot of stuff is happening in this area given that it is one of the main tourist areas. However, the brewery is great. There's an outside patio for a nice day when the sun is out and the weather is nice. It's a typical brewery with some food offered.

Josephine D.

Yelp
I don't love Samuel Adams beer, but I seriously love this spot! We were visiting and walking around in the surrounding areas and decided to stop by here for breakfast. No, they don't serve breakfast, but we still had 2 flights for breakfast. Love their selection and layout of the taproom. Plenty of cool Samuel Adams Merch. Free arcade games. Service was great. Definitely coming back.

Savannah H.

Yelp
I enjoy that they have exclusive beers that you can only get here (and honestly they're probably the only Sam beers I'd drink-they're much better usually and maybe because they're limited and small batch so they try harder? But they are good). Despite being from around here I don't really go for Sam Adams but it is a pleasant surprise to visit the tap room. The exclusive beers are always interesting and delicious and if they actually bottled those I'd become a Sam fan instantly. There is a lot of seating both inside and outside. The food is honestly shockingly good too. Highly recommend the pizza that has pepperoni and hot honey. It's enough for one or to share that and something else with two people. The trivia is fun on Tuesdays but it's completely on your phone and maybe I'm just showing my age (I AM young I swear) but I prefer different trivia groups who have paper slips. There's something fun about rushing to bring them to the dj and scribbling things out! But also it makes it easy for ppl to cheat and you not know bc they're already on their phone as they discuss. But other than that and that's such a me thing and minor, I would actually recommend it even to locals to visit!! They do card EVERYONE at the door and stamp your hand even if it's noon so be ready for that! Might be nice to surprise your mom who likes to be carded to feel young haha!

Julia M.

Yelp
We made multiple trips to the Tap Room during our visit to Boston! We loved trying the exclusive beers and those that aren't available back home... though I left wishing a few were! Service was quick and super friendly, and helped me decide what to order as I'm not a fan of heavy beers. I loved the recommendation! Our appetizer also came out quickly and was delicious. Sauces for the tater tots were 10/10. Probably the best part of the Tap Room is the vibe in general. It's super casual, relaxed, and there's tons of cool seating and places to visit around the space. Definitely a must visit when you're in the area!

Kenneth K.

Yelp
This is a great and very convenient spot to try much of the many Sam Adams beers available, most that you cannot find outside of the Boston area. The bartenders are very friendly and there is plenty of seating, so we had no trouble finding a place to sit on July 3rd in the late afternoon/early evening and met a couple from New Jersey. Believe it or not, after coming here and trying exclusives elsewhere my wife and I become Sam Adams snobs like our best fiend from Boston we visited with.

Rachael R.

Yelp
A fun spot to stop if checking out the area. We sat upstairs which was great because we could look out at all the crowds and people. There were street performers drawing a large crowd which was fun to watch as well. The security guard checking IDs was a total jerk. Didn't say anything just waited for you to hand your ID (I don't get carded often if at all anymore so I genuinely wasn't sure what he wanted and he was not at all nice about it). So that kind of set a bad tone from the start. The servers upstairs were very nice though and they have lots of draft options to chose from. We did not order any food so I can't comment on that.

Jess B.

Yelp
We visited the Sam Adams Tap Room, conveniently located right in front of Quincy Market. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the selection of 19 beers was impressive. My husband and I decided to try a flight to sample a variety of their brews. However, we found that the service was not as friendly as we had hoped for. Despite that, the diverse beer options and the overall ambiance made it a good stop for beer enthusiasts.

Jane M.

Yelp
What an amazing Taproom in downtown Boston. We have been here at least a couple of time during our trip to Boston and loved the casual vibe of this taproom. They have plenty of Sam Adams options and we tried the below ones: 1. Boston Brick Red: an Irish red ale really good and one of our favs 2. Cherry Wheat: This was also delicious 3. The House Blend: an American porter. Taste like coffee and I enjoyed this one too. I would highly recommend getting a flight unless you know what you want to order. But overall amazing place, quick service loved the vibe and they do play live sports on their huge projector screens as well. Highly recommend this taproom.

Juan D.

Yelp
Great place to take a break. If you're walking, feeling tired a want some beers, this is the place. Casual ambiance, seat where you can, chat with friends, watch sports. Have never ate food here. You can as for beer recommendations and staff is knowledgeable.

Nola F.

Yelp
They ID every person who comes in here, including me. After waiting in the line, we got seats at the bar. We chatted with several very nice people who live close by. Our beers were good. My daughter got the Wicked Fenway and enjoyed it. I ordered some sour beer and I forget the name at this point. They serve food in another area downstairs. The place is very clean. We should have gone to the rooftop bar. It seemed like it would have a nice view of the city. Service was not the best. They had a lot of customers and just never came around to us after the first beer. We probably would have ordered another round. This is a very fun place to drink some quality Sam Adam's beer.

Alexandra P.

Yelp
DONT forget your ID. They do check everyone as soon as you walk in! Monday at 1pm was pretty empty. When walking in we got our IDs checked and sat at a table near the bar. They have a QR code on the table to see their menu with choices and beers and small bites Side note- this is not a restaurant with a full food menu it's more like small bites not much to choose from maybe 10ish if that. We ordered a flight of beers- you choose by number and pretty cool the bar has the beers on tap by number. Our choices were the following: 4- Wicked Easy: it's a citrus IPA. To me it resembled passion fruit with the bitterness at the end but still refreshing 5- Boston Brick Red: an Irish red ale really good and not that bitter 6- Cherry Wheat: my favorite! The cherry is really there as you drink it. It reminded me of a cherry slushy super refreshing. 7- Truly Wild Berry: it's a hard seltzer pretty standard nothing exciting 9- The House Blend (yes that's what it's called): an American porter. Taste like coffee - kind of like Guinness had a cousin. 15- Scotch Ale: A house exclusive not too bitter but also refreshing. 18- Milder Thang: love the name. Thang is a mild ale I didn't drink it so that's pretty much it. Sorry y'all. Overall it is a beautiful space and has many options to drink from. I do wish they had a little more on the menu to eat since the place is primarily for drinking. Would visit again

Yelp
Got to visit the Sam Adams taproom on a gorgeous sunny day! 15 beers on tap and I enjoyed GDR and Wicked Easy. We took advantage of the sunny weather and sat out on the patio. With the amount of people there, the two bartenders did a great job filing beer glasses. There was one staff member walking around picking up any empty glasses and another working the entrance and checking ID's. We did walk around for a few minutes trying to find seating. They do have indoor seating, but we wanted to be outside and just our luck we managed to grab a table after a couple left. The vibe was super chill and being outside with the sunny weather made it even better. This taproom is also next to the Quincy Market, so after we had a few beers we walked and explored that area. Sam Adams was the first beer that opened me to craft beer and I'm Glad I got to visit the taproom! Another Boston staple when visiting!

Janelle L.

Yelp
LOVED THIS! The pretzel was so soft and the chicken fingers were PERFECTLY fried. We got the Oktoberfest beer and it tastes so amazing fresh brewed vs what is Floridians are used to bottled. The service was friendly and the feeling of actually being in the brew house is my favorite part. Second story has a great view.

Danielle M.

Yelp
Sam Adams Tap Room was a fun spot to pop into while exploring Boston! It is located right by Faneuil Hall (which I will review in another post!) The Tap Room has 2 floors including a small gift shop area for your memorabilia. I'm not a huge craft beer drinker, so something on the lighter side, a Lager, Wheat, Pilsner, etc are usually what I ask for! I tried the HAPPY LOGGER which is a northern brewer, Curt's and Mosaic hops and it was very good! Alex had the Sweet Temptations which was out of his element but he really enjoyed it! It was a Blonde Chocolate Raspberry Stout, this was an exclusive VDAY option. We didn't order any food as we had just eaten a large breakfast! But the service was great for the bar, so I can only imagine the overall service would exceed your expectations!

Yelp
This spacious, energetic taproom in the heart of downtown Boston is the perfect place to take a break during a busy day of seeing Freedom Trail sights, or just about any other time, for that matter. With 3 levels of indoor seating as well as an fabulous outdoor deck, it's a great place to connect with old friends -- or make new ones. The taps are stocked with Sam's most popular beers, as well as a number of brews you'll only find here and at the main Brewery. I started with a Summer Ale, then moved on to a crisp Pony Up Lager and a delicious Wicked Fenway IPA. There are also a couple of Truly Hard Seltzers on tap, along with soft drinks. The food at the Tap Room is also pretty solid. Our family shared an order of Eastern Standard Pretzels and a plate of Nachos, both of which hit the spot as we waited out a rainy summer afternoon with a few cold beers. And despite the packed house on the afternoon we visited, the bartenders were patient and friendly, taking time to answer questions and dish out recommendations. Admittedly, Sam Adams is far from my favorite craft beer, but their downtown Boston taproom produced one of the best afternoons of our vacation. A MUST for hopheads visiting Beantown.

Yelp
Didn't get food but beers were solid, the vibe was fun and chill but I also sat there doing work for a few hours with the free wifi and outlets by the long tables.

Yelp
Great place to hang after a long day walking through Boston. We stopped here to have a couple beers and a few apps after a walking tour that conveniently finished in the area. The Sam Adams brews were great, with a great selection. We had pretzels and nachos for appetizers, which went perfectly with our beer. The service was great, the bartenders were very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. We sat out on the deck overlooking Faneuil Hall, very enjoyable

Yelp
We got nachos and 2 mini beers when we went. The roof is 1 story up and overlooks Faneuil hall which is nice. It's all walk-ins and you get IDed at the door. When we got upstairs there were no tables available so we were able to stand around until one opened up. I was bummed that they don't have craft cocktails at all but the beers were fine and the nachos were yummy.

Yelp
Very conveniently located downtown by Faneuil Hall! The winter lager is a DREAM! Side note: scan the barcode at tables to order. Or order and pickup at the bar. No standard waitstaff.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the bar and the beer. My wife and I did not order any food. What's more 'Boston' than having a Sam Adams at the Sam Adams Taproom? It's a cool place. The street side opens up to Fanuiel Square, then there's a half-underground section in back, and a rooftop. The rooftop was closed so we sat on the corner of their very long bar and perused their draft beer menu. I specifically had one of their exclusive beers that are only produced at that taproom. The taproom is a microbrewery as well. I had the Honey Blossom, in 12 oz (because of the high ABV). I really enjoyed the beer. It did not have any bitterness, and just a touch of honey flavor. The bartender provided outstanding service as well as directions and recommendations for these tourists. A great, and relaxing experience.

Yelp
While this is in the center of the most touristy area of the city I would definitely say its a do not miss if you don't have time to get out to the brewery. I was in town for just a few days and wanted to pack in as much as possible. After finishing up a walking tour in the area I doubled back to grab a few beers. The space is BEAUTIFUL but I didn't get a chance to peruse the gift shop area. I did walk around the exposed brewing area a bit and read the little bit of information they had posted. I love that they have a lot of things on tap and I got to try a few of the experimental brews. The bartenders were great, friendly and were so helpful explaining things to me. I will absolutely stop by next time i'm in town and have seriously told people to not skip it!

Yelp
Stopped here after a day of walking the city. Atmosphere was great and the staff was great to talk with. Drinks were nice and there's plenty of seating. Highly recommend stopping if you're in the city.

Yelp
Beer was good. Good location. Service is lacking and not very attentive. We ordered the turkey club panini. The bacon was not cooked. When I asked to the young girl attending the food counter to please help me by having the bacon cooked she was utterly confused by my request. Another employee happened by and was confused as well on how to cook bacon. Finally he said he would make another sandwich for us. The condiments are all in packages. No mayo here. Come here for the beer not the food or service.

Yelp
Samuel Adams Downtown Tap Room is right outside of Faneuil Hall. I was showing a friend around the downtown area and noticed this place for the first time. Both the exterior and the interior are modern, so to me it doesn't have the feel of one of the historic breweries in the US. The beers were good and the food was decent too. The service was excellent.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to coming to the new Sam Adam's Brewery in the city. The last time I visited a Sam Adam's Brewery, I had a great time with their tour. Unfortunately, my experience was a little ruined at the end when I was buying a souvenir to take home. This place is a total tourist trap, and their prices at the gift store are deceiving. Apparently, the price tags are not marked correctly, and they just change the price without clearly telling you before your purchase. I wanted to buy an ornament that was marked $6. When I got to the register, the employee at the cash register said my total was $8.50. I paid, but I thought it was odd that tax was extremely high. When I looked at my receipt, it said $8 was charged to my card with $0.50 tax. When I went back to question the price thinking she just charged me incorrectly, she was so into the book she was reading at the register, she simply just said in a sassy voice that she "told me the total was $8.50." I explained she only said the total price without mentioning the price had increased. She responded with, "but I told you the price was $8.50. I can refund it if you like, but that's the price we have." She continued on with her sassy voice that, "Our (ie Sam Adam's) prices are old." Well, if the prices are "old" and had "increased in price," why not put a simple sign or re-label the prices. Especially since they're located in a touristy area, they're literally upcharging people without clearly marking their items. Out of principle, that's a total disappointment. Even if the item was marked $8, I would have probably purchased it. But to be lazy enough to not re-label it, then just charge whatever price they wanted, is definitely not right. My final recommendation is to either go to the original Sam Adam's Brewery or just expect to be charged whatever their going price is and not what their labels say.

Yelp
This place lost 4 stars because of one BAD loud and "I'm here" bartender. Looks like she started her shift, a little girl was getting some water cautiously as she did want to spill, and here she comes tell the little girl "honey, do you kind in I fill up my cup" Seriously? Just brushed was a little girl ??? Why can't she wait? At the place I was sitting the fan was off and I asked her if she could turn it on. She reply "I will try" All I saw her doing was chugging down some beer and talking. She never turn in the fan or came to update. Later I found out from another bartender that the fan is broken and she may not even know it's broken. It's OK if she doesn't know all she have to do is update it with Customer. It only take one bad apple to rotten up the whole basket. Oh I do see her super friendly with the men maybe because I'm a female ‍

Yelp
What a cool place! I loved how this was right smack dab in the center of the city. We sat up in the second level area and loved seeing the hustle bustle of the city and listening to the live music next door and the street performers. The staff is SUPER friendly and we got our drink orders extremely quickly. I ordered a flight and though the beer I chose was not my favorite it was still fun to be able to sample the local Sam Adams beers. The flights were only $16 so I would highly recommend getting a flight. The two servers who checked on us made sure that we were taken care of at all times which is so nice these days to not feel like you're an inconvenience to the staff
