Samad Al Iraqi Review - Kensington - London - The Infatuation

"Kensington High Street is one of our favourite places for people-watching. The dogs get their hair cut more often than us, everyone strolls like they’ve got nowhere to be in particular, and a window seat at Iraqi spot Samad Al Iraqi is the perfect place to take it all in. Complimentary lentil soup is set in front of you as soon as you sit down, setting the tone that this is a place for warm hospitality and great Iraqi food. It’s a popular spot for those reasons—on any given weekday you’ll find families having a masgouf lunch (traditional Iraqi grilled fish) in the dark, wood-filled dining room. The curtains are heavy, the chairs are heavy, and so will your stomach once you leave. Lamb-topped hummus and the six different types of minced meat-stuffed kubbah are highlights of the menu. But if you’re looking for something that’ll have you too full for dessert, the quzi al sham, a pastry bowl with rice and tender lamb, is a great option." - Rianne Shlebak

Salad Al Iraqi in Jumeirah is a true gem for anyone who appreciates authentic, flavorful food served with generosity. From the moment the dishes arrive, you can see the care and abundance put into every plate. The portions are exceptionally large and generous, perfect for sharing or for those who love a satisfying, wholesome meal. Each salad is vibrant, fresh, and full of bold Iraqi flavors, made with quality ingredients and balanced seasoning. Nothing feels rushed or commercial — it has that comforting, homemade touch that makes you want to come back again. The value for money is excellent, especially considering how filling the dishes are. Whether you’re dining in or ordering takeaway, Salad Al Iraqi consistently delivers hearty portions, rich flavors, and a warm, honest food experience. A must-visit in Jumeirah for anyone craving generous servings and truly authentic taste.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. If you're eager to try authentic Iraqi cuisine, this is the place to visit. Upon seating, you're immediately served a bowl of soup, fresh bread, and torshi. We ordered a lamb platter meant for four, and the portions were so generous that we couldn't finish it. The dish comes with an array of sides, enhancing the meal even further. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Samad Al is an authentic Iraqi restaurant showcasing Maskouf. Maskouf is the name for both the national Iraqi dish of seasoned fish and also the cooking method over an open wood flame (not the name of the fish). To start we were served a complimentary soup with a squeeze of lemon and traditional bread. For our mains we ordered a mixed grill which had meat that was incredibly tender and a shrimp dish in a beautiful rich sauce.

Delicious food. Indoor and outdoor sitting - we preferred outdoor as we were there late October. Outdoor you can see fountain and light show. Indoor was pretty cold - make sure to have extra layer. Very nice service, clean bathrooms. Tea all night long!

Unbeatable Fish, Unforgettable Ambiance. Best river fish in the city, period. The Masgouf is a masterpiece. Add to that a truly beautiful and authentic atmosphere, and you have a 5-star winner. Service was top-notch. Will be back again and again!

I am Iraqi, and I have tried already few other Iraqi restaurants in Dubai, until now this is the best one I have tried. Dolma has the Oraqi special taste. And Halawat taheen was made perfectly. Service was above and beyond, Mr. Mohammad Fawzi made sure my order is made as I wish and gave me accurate recommendations. I love also the old tradfitional Iraqi songs in the background. Parking is free for 2 hours here. I surely will come again to try other courses.

This is one of the best Iraqi restaurants we've eaten at in Dubai! We ate here twice during our stay in Dubai. We almost ordered every dish on the menu! Everything was delicious and mouth-watering 😋 Big thank you to Ashtaf and staff for their amazing service! We hope to see you again next year 🍽 Highly recommend 👌

Great overall. A little dent for dry sunny side up eggs despite warning. Iraqi shawarma was not ready at 12:30 pm and told won't be until 1:30 pm. Prices are cheapthan the Dubai mall branch. Parking is good. Iraqi Ghaimar is nothing like real authentic one from back home but the Kahi is good and crunchy. No rashi and dates syrup was served with the Iraqi breakfast although it was there on the dish pictures and it is an authentic component of the Iraqi breakfast.
