"Saman's history traces back to 1977 Venezuela, but despite its antiquity, it continues to be frequented by local arepa lovers. Its Orlando outpost made its way to Doral, with options like the Shrimp Special made with shrimp, chicken salad and white cheese or the Churrasco made with grilled churrasco, guac salad, and white cheese. (Locations also in Dadeland Mall and International Mall.)" - Eater Staff

Google
Super great food! My grandpa and I had cachapas, his with shredded chicken and mine with chicharrón. Really high quality service and the food was amazing. Place is kept clean and tidy. I also had the Soursop drink with milk, super creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness! Would come back again if we’re back in town, we come all the way from Tampa! ✌️

Google
ordered the Dark Roast Beef, which clearly comes vacuum-sealed as shown in the official product presentation. However, the restaurant sent it to me hot, in a regular plastic container and spilled all over the bag. Not only did this ruin the product, but it also shows poor food handling practices. When I called the store, the person who answered didn’t offer an apology or a solution. Instead, he justified it by saying they don’t have a vacuum machine, so they send it like that. That is not an acceptable response. If you don’t have the proper conditions to offer the product as it should be, then you simply shouldn’t sell it. It’s very disrespectful to make decisions like that without consulting the customer. I doubt the restaurant owner is even aware this is happening. What truly sets a restaurant apart—beyond the product—is customer service, and in this case, it was seriously lacking. There needs to be more attention and professionalism in that regard.

Google
The arepa was absolutely delicious and generously sized! The passion fruit juice was refreshing and flavorful, and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The service was amazing, friendly and attentive, and the venue was spotless. Great value for an incredible experience. Highly recommend!

Google
Fantastic food! Don't let the sleepy strip mall fool you, there's a flavor monster at Saman! The classic arepa with butter and white cheese was perfect, best I've had since living in Caracas. The Empanadas were sweet and the fillings savory. Paired it with a pair of Mansana (Apple) sodas. Wonderful meal that made this a spot on my list every time I am in Miami!

Google
I was highly pleased with everything we ordered, very flavorful and well thought out. I’m always excited to see graphic menus with full pictures of every dish because I know they made effort to practice and standardize recipes. We had one of the sample platters with mostly fried items, which all hit the spot, crispy/salt and flavorful. The sauces were also well made, and the various arapas were really good, there was a sweet one with cheese that was really good. My main dish was the beef soup which reminded me of a Haitian bouillon, really well seasoned meat down to the bone. The broth was very flavorful, not too salty but simple and rich. The prices were very reasonable for everything, felt like we ate 4-5 dishes with two beverages for maybe $50, way more than enough food. The entire menu looked good, I can’t wait to try other items on the menu next time.

Google
Ordered a picanha cachapa and it had a lot of hair inside of it, absolutely disgusting.

Google
had a delightful experience at this Venezuelan restaurant. The arepa with Shredded Beef and Guayanes cheese was a flavorful combination, and the Churrasco Lover was a delicious treat. The traditional Venezuelan dishes truly captured the authentic taste, making it a must-try for anyone craving genuine Venezuelan cuisine

Google
I came with my first time tonight with my boyfriend who happens to be Venezuelan. We had a great time. First of all cute place. Unfortunately not their fault the parking lot was flooded and difficult to find a dry space. (Nor their fault). Place super cute. Super clean. We decided to seat and order and spend some thing there. Not really busy (maybe cause of the rain). I have one of their new menu items pork chunks with arepas. It was fresh and super delicious. I also had sourpuss drink (Cuban call it guanamana). It was on point. Atmosphere is young and hip. I really like the place. I will be back to enjoy more of their menu items.

Yelp
The place is very modern and good for sit down though i've only gotten food to go. I've had the cachapa and the sample platter-- the cachapa is well made and delicious but my favorite has to be the sampler platter -- you get fried arepitas, mini cachapas, tequeños, and plátano (fried plantain) all with cheese -- this is like the perfect Venezuelan tapas ...

Yelp
Been here 4 times. In a strip mall with a busy parking lot. Authentic Venezuelan experience at a price. The food is decent and they have a broad menu but a little pricey. This menu has to have been created by a graphic artist. It is pretty. The empanadas are really good especially if you get them operadas. The soups are good too. Very authentic. I liked the cachapa too. Service is awkward. The register is all the way on the back. The servers make average efforts of attending to clients and almost make you feel like they are doing you a favor. They don't come around except to deliver. Very little checking in on customers.

Amarilys T.

Yelp

Yelp
The food was very Mid to say the least. I had the arepas sample, every single one was DISGUSTING. The only good one was the one with guac and chicken and even that wasn't anything special. I would not come back here the food was just atrocious. To top it off the service was not good at all, the servers/cashiers were rude and dismissive. For this to be a Venezuelan restaurant in DORAL and the food to be this horrible they must be doing everything wrong. I don't know what cheese they're using on those arepas but it was disgusting, I left with a stomach ache. Overall not a pleasant dinning experience.

Lisa C.

Yelp
The mini arepa sliders were delicious. Great vegetarian options. Service was lacking.

Azalea E.

Yelp

Pirooz P.

Yelp
Good Venezuelan cuisine. Specially breakfast selections of arepas and empanadas. Near the year end you can find some of the best Panes de Jamon there. Nicely packaged if you need to gift them.

Hails T.

Yelp
Ordered on doordash. Place is AMAZING! Plantains are so good for the lasagna and traditional plate. Smacks!!!

Realfood F.

Yelp
Excellent place to eat traditional yet refined Venezuelan food in Doral, they make everything right which is the most important part of service. The place is very nice aesthetically and the staff are generally super friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend the arepa sliders and the tequeños.

Teletec C.

Yelp
Excelente servicio mejor imposible Alex el manager nos trató A++++ gracias por todo. Nos vemos en la próxima oportunidad.

William R.

Yelp
We ordered cachapas like everytime we go there, it's been in while since we haven't gone there, this time they tasted very mid, the shredded meat was also mid, not even close as they used to be. They used to be the best cachapas in the area. Very disappointing! Also they didn't have all the options for drinks they had on the menu, just four options of juices. The service was also mid, the server was not very friendly and when we asked for things on the menu she did not know the answers (question about the food like what kind of fish was the one on the dish).

Tatiana C.

Yelp
Amazing!! It reminded me of my homewtown, arepas cachapas, my favorite beer The service was as expected. Fyi the empanadas have a sweet flavor on the dough which is good for me. Pabellon empanada I'll try more plates but i will be back when i come To Doral

Alex G.

Yelp
Great place for a quick stop for breakfast or lunch. The place is clean and well maintained. You can order at the counter, but they also have table service. Much of the food is pre-prepared daily, but it's fresh and flavorful. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you live or work in the area, this is a nice neighborhood place, but I wouldn't make a special trip to be here.

Karen S.

Yelp
Muy buenas las cachapas acá, lugar limpio, agradable y buenas opciones el menu aun si estas a dieta.

Gerald P.

Yelp
Need major improvement with food and service , the attendant was lack of empathy and delivering the food to me in a bad manner. This has happened before and I'm not considered to go anymore . The arepas were hard and the meat was not fresh . Did not enjoyed at all the food .

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
We loved Saman arepas ! Our waitress Isabella was friendly and great explaining the dishes and helping make a vegetarian arepa for my daughter that was delicious ! We shared an excellent salad, tasty truffle fries , several types of arepas and tres leches. We can't wait to go back

Ivanna R.

Yelp
I really enjoyed visiting Saman! Good flavor, great customer service and many options to choose from! The only thing I didn't love so much is that the arepas are usually a bit burnt. Some people like it like that, but I'm not one of those. Other than that, I liked this place! :)

Maria I.

Yelp
Food is excellent but sadly whenever i order something online there is always mistakes, as today that I ordered a salad with churrasco and they bring me the salad with shrimp and it always happen, also the girls are almost all the time in bad humor and that's very sad because food is delicious!

Wilmer A.

Yelp

Nancy A.

Yelp
How disappointing. Second time here and they lost 2 stars pretty quickly! 1st Im still waiting for my glass of water I ordered as soon as I waked in. They brought my lunch out before bringing the appetizers. The table said sanitized and I could see sauce slashes from a previous customer. And the final straw- I had to stand up and go to the to go window to pay my bill cause nobody deemed it necessary to bring it over. I asked to see the bill and they asked me to put my card first and printed a receipt that did not show what I had been billed. When I asked for the breakdown, he printed it and surprise surprise, they put in an automatic 18% when they barely deserved a 10%. I was not given the option to change it nor reduce it as my card had been billed for the total.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Not a fan! The menu looks super delicious! However when the food gets to you it's underwhelming. I ordered the sampler appetizer, the patacones, and the passion fruit juice. The sampler was yummy and brought tequeños, cachapas, and patacones. The patacones were yummy but what was terrible was the protein. The shrimp is so bland and has no flavor. The shredded chicken was not appetizing. The only protein I liked was the churrasco. Overall I was not a fan of this place.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
Amazing Soup the food is so good. The girls are super nice and the manager is really attentive too. The ambience is super quite place . Prices maybe a little high for not being a fine dinning ;However, the food it's worth every penny.

Minerva M.

Yelp
exellent venezuelan brekfast !! Gourmet cappuccino and a big menu to choose from for lunch. Will come back for lunch

Tiauna T.

Yelp
I had a little bit of everything because I never had Venezuelan food before lol. My FAVE AREPA was the one I saw in the menu. It had the chicken salad, shrimp and chicken all in one. That chicken salad was amazing!!! I'll never forget it. I liked all of them because the arepa had a sweet flavor to it and the portion size was phenomenal. I'll be back for sure!!

Gianna C.

Yelp
Un lugar súper venezolano, la atención es un poco lenta pero la comida vale totalmente la pena, fuimos un domingo y no había mucha gente, súper recomiendo esta comida el precio es razonable y puedes compartir los platos.

Branden L.

Yelp
Awful customer service. I ordered through door dash and only received one item out of the 4 I ordered. I was able to get a partial refund through door dash was told on the phone from Saman that they will deliver the rest of my order. I waited 50 minutes because the restaurant is a little bit further from me and called to ask where my order was and they told me the manager doesn't have a vehicle right now to deliver it. So I just wasted two hours of my time and received an appetizer. Ridiculous do not recommend

Violeta G.

Yelp
Pricy but well sized, proportioned and delicious. Good for very occasional visits. Area not the best but ok.

Pixie S.

Yelp
Love Saman Arepas! Great food and the price is right. Everything is fresh and delicious. One of the best lunch spots in Doral. If you're in the area you gotta check them out!

Lilly G.

Yelp
The only reason they get 3 stars is because overall the food was good. I hadn't noticed how dirty the floor was until we had already ordered. Otherwise, I might have not have stayed. As I was waiting for my food, I realized that there was only one waitress. The restaurant was pretty full. There was one runner and they both took turns cleaning the tables. By cleaning I mean (half ass) passing a towel over the table and allowing all the food to fall on the chairs and floor. Gross. The women's restroom had no soap so I went to the mens to wash my hands. There was a cup filled with pink soap that smelled and felt like dish soap. Overall, their employees need to be better trained in the workings of a restaurant. Maybe hire a busser and a food prep worker instead of the waitress semi cleaning and the manager prepping orders. I wish I could say that I'd be back for the food but honestly, if their front of house is so nasty, I can't even imagine what the back looks like. So no, I won't be back.

Dietwin S.

Yelp
Best empanadas in doral! Definitely worth it to stop by and trying the food, especially empanadas

Usu I.

Yelp
I've had their arepas and always good. Tonight tried their sancocho and it was excellent. Plenty of beef , and veggies. Delicious!

Reynaldo D.

Yelp
I'm sad to say that this was one of my favorites Venezuelan food places for delicious arepas, Cachapas and empanadas. But now, the pabellón empanadas were simply terrible. I'm not putting 1 star because we had a Cachapa with chicken too and it was really good. But the empanadas filling felt like it was made with a can American chili for the beans and that's it. Didn't feel the shredded beef, cheese or plantain. It was like a burrito at Taco Bell, that you only feel like a bean cream inside. Really sad to see them going for such low standards. Hope they reas this and fix this issue. This was a great place on every item before.

Rothschild D.

Yelp
I purchased their breakfast platter: arepa, perico, white cheese and beans along with beef soup and white rice. The cheese felt like plastic. The arepa was a pretty good quality. The perico was flavorless and the beans were okay. I really did enjoy the soup and rice. The flavor was impeccable but quantity was lacking.

Nicolas D.

Yelp
Fire arepas. My friend hooked me up. And me encanto. Cachapas son divina. Lo recomendó.

Amanda N.

Yelp
The food was okay, it was warm not hot. Everything didn't taste as favorable as I thought. The waitress was a bit rude in thr sense that she that the meal we got was not good to eat...

Laura P.

Yelp
I loved this place and my husband and I ordered every Friday night, we called it saman night but recently they changed their quality of white shredded cheese and the Arepas are no longer the best in town. The cheese taste awful.

Pedro L.

Yelp
Terrible service!! Not going back!! Waiting time was terrible, we waited for 40 mins and the order was totally wrong for 2 out 3 people. Not Worth it!!

Samar R.

Yelp
It was late night and I was hungry..... like a wolf. Lol I didn't eat the entire day so a little snack at the house was not gong to do it. This is where Yelp confess in to play. Thankfully Saman was own til 5AM! The cheese Cachapa (sp?) Was reallyyyyyy good with that sour cream dip it comes with. I ordered Venezulas popular dish which had shredded beef with a side of white rice and beans and fried plantains. The shredded beef was too salty and I am not sure about the beans... can't vtell if they were starting to spoil or if they just taste like that but I didn't like them much. Although my meal was not the best... that cachapa was. The natural juices were bomb diggity too. I had a mighty tart tamarind fresh juice. Restroom smelled funky though. I had to hold my breath. Kept gagging while there. The establishment is exceptionally clean though so I was surprised that the restroom was off putting. I will be back for Cachapa and other juices!

Hilda G.

Yelp
After waiting for 30 minutes just for 3 simple arepas, I needed to tell the waitress to give me my arepas, my two water and my coffee for delivery. One of the worst American coffees in my entire life (Splenda and almond milk is not a thing in this restaurant), and what do I get for waiting and simple food, a check of 40 dollars. Overall crazy high prices for the quality of the food and the amount of waiting. If you want to waist your money Don't go there

Helen R.

Yelp
Good arepas and soups but slowwww slow services , longggg waiting time if you want to try, call first and order before you arrive

Elisha P.

Yelp
Best arepa I've ever had in my life!!! I am obsessed with this place! The service is so amazing too they treat you like family!! 10/10!!!

Adalwaysthere ..

Yelp
Best sancocho in the area, their main dishes are really really good. Service is okay.

Edouard A.

Yelp
The food was okay. I ordered a Pabellon online and it was supposed to be done at 8:45 but instead I had to wait for them to prepare it when I got there. plantain was very dry and hard. Not worth the price of $18.

Lynette B.

Yelp
I must have the worst luck with this place. Ordered from Saman AGAIN, because I can't deny the food is good. And AGAIN, they forget an important ingredient. I really don't think the third time will be the charm. Sad, because the food is good.

Ana G.

Yelp
There are quite some pros and annoying cons to this place. Pros: -Staff is attentive, friendly and quick. The females and one gentleman who served us the three times I've visited were courteous. -The arepas are phenomenal. Coming from a Venezuelan mixed household, the arepas here are quite on-point to tradition and also have some new mixes to shake it up -Turn around time is quick. Have not had to wait long for my food in any instance I've come. Cons: -Not "dietary restrictions" friendly. I am allergic to food coloring found in some yellow American cheeses. For this reason I avoid it everywhere. I also don't have a big appetite so I usually order the arepa sliders set (it's a set of four that you can mix and match the slider choice) so I like to order three for me and give the extra one to my husband. They are not willing to change the yellow cheese for white cheese and can't give me a reason other than "that's the menu". I get that the menu is set but surely a cheese swap is easy enough to do. If the excuse is price/profit, that is easily solved with an extra $1 added to the order for ingredient swap. -Standard 18% tips forces customers who always tip above 25% and don't carry cash (like myself) to be forced to tip below my personal desire. I'm sure it also forces customer to always tip well even if the service is poor. A tip is an extra bonus given to the waiter/waitress depending on the service provided and the customer's desire/capability to tip. Forcing a gratuity is wrong (maybe even unlawful) particularly if the party is small (4 or less people). There is also no vocalization ahead of time from the cashier about the 18% gratuity already being included. Someone not paying attention would potentially end up tipping twice. Go here if you're okay with the menu as it is and don't mind being auto-charged a 18% tip. The food is actually delicious and servers are kind, thank God, or this review would end up on the scathing end.

Yelp
Abril 01 1:00 pm la comida es buena pero el servicio es extremadamente malo, no lo recomiendo. la señora de la caja registradora, es un desastre.

Rafael A.

Yelp
We are Venezuelans from North Carolina, this place was the highlight of our trip to Miami (Doral). The environment, music, service and food were spectacular!!!

Oswaldo H.

Yelp
Quiet a bit disappointed, came highly recommended by a friend who told me their arepas were great. They're okay (takes a long time from the moment you order to the moment you receive them) mine was a little on the burnt side and you could taste it. In addition I had ordered two empanadas to go, I confirmed it was ground beef and when I received the bag it said shredded... I approached a server and asked about it, she took it to the kitchen and they told her it was ground beef... as I sit on my car I checked the order and the empanada was opened on a side and you could clearly tell it was shredded (after asking about it 3 times) unbelievable.

Alejandro H.

Yelp
It had been a while since I last came to this place and let me tell you, it has definitely changed a lot....but for the better! They upgraded the entire place, more roomie, better tables and lighting, ambiance and the food is a lot better too! Typical yet delicious Venezuelan cuisine. This time all we had was 2 arepas and tequeños. First a Reina Pepiada. Ingredients are shredded white meat chicken tossed with avocado, mayonnaise, garlic, onion plus other ingredients. The other was custom made, yes you can have the arepa any way you want it! Shredded meat, queso de mano (white cheese), avocado slices and maduros (fried plantains). Absolutely delicious! Granted, there are many Venezuelans restaurants you can choose from and you should try them all and decide for yourself. Saman is definitely one of my tops in Miami for arepas. Gonna have to go back and try other dishes.

Lorelen N.

Yelp
Delicious food and friendly service. Andrea was exceptional! A must go when in Miami.
