A local go-to for hearty American fare, seafood, and Sunday brunch, with a polished tavern vibe. Triad City Beat spotlighted its generous, well-executed plates.

Google
We were in High Point looking for an interesting place to have an early dinner or late lunch. We did a google search of casual dining in the area and came up with Sammy G's. The menu has great offerings. I decided on the seafood pasta. It came with a delicious crab cake on top and a decent amount of shrimp under a generous serving of pasta. I have a pretty healthy appetite, and I could only finish half. It was great value for the money. My wife got the stuffed flounder, once again a very good portion size, and very flavorful. The fish tasted fresh and was well seasoned. They also have a few signature cocktails that were as visually appealing as they taste. This place is a must try if you are in the area.

Clean and pleasant atmosphere. Staff and waitress were great. Portions could be a bit larger for price. Quality of food was good. We had reservations but it seems they can seat you fairly fast without. Overall, great! I would recommend giving them a try. Recommended!

Sammy G’s in High Point is an absolute delight! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and our server Aniah provided truly excellent service—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. The Blackened Mahi Mahi with broccoli was delicious—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Service was prompt and professional, making for an all-around great dining experience. If you’re looking for a wonderful restaurant in High Point, Sammy G’s is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Google
First time dining here and I’ve gotta admit, the food is pretty delicious. The salmon was sooo tender.. and the sauce? Amazing! Good prices on drinks, plus the cocktails are strong. Their dinner rolls? Definitely a must! Soft, warm and buttery - one basket will leave you craving more. The fries were beyond unimpressive. Dry, under salted, and some were kind of hard. Decent service, definitely a bit of a wait, nothing special. All in all, it’s a good spot for a nice meal.

Google
Food was great. Server was very good as well but busy which lead him to be away for long periods. This is not a stand alone restaurant so that takes a little away from the atmosphere. Overall- still one of my favorite places in High Point to eat.

Google
Nice little atmosphere but the service was terrible and the food tasted like iHop. Therefore, this is basically a fancy IHOP. Our waitress was extremely flustered. In addition, they kept coming out with fries no one ordered. The chicken and waffles were nasty as well as the breakfast tacos. My Son ate his chicken tenders but my other son refused to eat the kids Alfredo. I tried a taste of it and I could understand why my 2 year old didn't want it. Extremely bland, even the shrimp I added to it was nasty. Maybe we came on a bad day but my cousins also complained about how the food tasted and how our service was today. Yesterday was stressful with a huge wedding so today was supposed to be smooth sailing but it definitely wasn't. Won't be coming again and I can't honestly say if recommend this Place. Only positives I have is one of my cousins enjoyed the wings (I think she had hot honey wings) and my other cousin enjoyed his eggs (I think he got them with extra cheese). Cute place, just not for me

I selected this restaurant as part of an entrepreneurs fellowship for women. I’m sad to say that this restaurant let us down. The service was not great. The manager on duty was not pleasant. We felt rushed to exit the restaurant and we made reservations. People of diversity should not have to deal with such treatment and by diversity I mean women. Years ago this restaurant used to be filled with customers but now it’s empty and I understand why. I would never recommend this place and I’m not going back. Our waitress Charlotte was not attentive at all!!!!!!

Yelp
Out of four visits, we thoroughly enjoyed three of them, and those are the only visits you need to hear about! Our first visit was an impromptu date night. We were sat in the back room and each ordered a chicken dish with the bacon appetizer. Everything from the beverages to the bread to the app to the entrees to the service was fantastic! Everything was delicious and our server was warm and friendly. My next visit was with three of my girlfriends. Jeff was our server and he is my favorite server at Sammy G's! We got drinks, apps, and entrees. Jeff ensure the timing on each was perfect, made suggestions when asked, and made us feel very welcome! He was also very funny and kept us smiling and entertained the entire visit! The last visit was with two of my girlfriends. The service was on point, the food was absolutely fantastic, and we left feeling full and very content. Despite the one sour visit, Sammy G's deserves all the stars I can give them! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The food is amazing, well seasoned and well portioned. When you ask for how to have your steak done, they cook it just right, at least for us when we went. We sat outside so not sure how it is indoor, but at least for us sitting outside, it is well secluded since the seating outside is where you see other people but is where it is spaced out so you have some privacy. Our server is great he makes sure to check in on you and our water is always filled. He is well versed in the menu in terms of food, mixed drinks, and the special of the day (can give you a description of what all is used in the food to entice you).

Yelp
Great service and good food both times we have eaten here in the last 2 months. The portions are sizable and the entrees come with a large salad. You can also opt for a cup of soup for an upcharge. My daughter really enjoyed the lobster bisque. We stated with the crispy calamari that was served with a tangy lemon aioli. The stuffed flounder, lemon chicken, and the sirloin were all great choices. The back of the restaurant was well lit and wasn't too terribly loud even though there were several large parties around us. We were happy that we were able to hold conversations without having to yell at each other across the table. We will definitely keep Sammy G's in mind for future celebrations.

Yelp
Came here for a quick dinner. Was in the mood for some healthy so I chose one of their salads and added blackened shrimp. It was tasty! The salad came out fresh and had a good portion leaving me with leftovers for later! Our server was friendly and made sure we did not run dry on drinks the entire evening. Inside the light were dimmed for dinner time and the restaurant was clean! Although we didn't get any alcoholic drinks, there is a large bar with several drink selections and a large wine menu Definitely somewhere I would come back to for a quick lunch or a dinner with friends

Yelp
We were a pretty big group who went for brunch on a Sunday and our server was pretty impressive. She remembered our orders when food was being served and didn't make any mistake when she returned each of our credit cards. I love their bread, sweet and bite size. The Crab Cake Benedict didn't disappoint, quite tasty and fresh. Seafood cravings satisfied. Be careful when driving into the parking lot from the left side facing the restaurant. No one was harmed haha, but a few of us hit the curb since it's hard to see. Not the restaurant's fault!

Yelp
We've been pulled into High Point the past week for various reasons. I Yelped for lunch today, but a lot of places are closed Monday or open later. Sammy G's has good reviews so off we went. We got there right after they opened for lunch; friendly greeting and attentive wait. She quickly fixed a hiccup from the kitchen. The lunch crowd patrons started to flow in. The food was good. They obviously have a strong following. And, we hit the curb too! My only issue was the condition of the men's bathroom for a nice place like this, needs some attention!

Yelp
Great waiter, laid back tavern vibe and good food. This is the sister restaurant to Fratellis in Winston Salem. The only negative is the famous Fratellis dressing here isn't as sweet. It's a minor thing, but I didn't think I'll order it there again. All of our meals tasted good, I recommend the Tavern Chicken or the Panther Chicken both are tasty!

Yelp
Attended my husband's work company holiday dinner and our meals were delicious , as always. Sammy G's in one of my favorite High Point restaurants. The staff and service is top notch and they take great care of you. We always leave satisfied and full. Our tables were filled with a few round of appetizers . One of the appetizers that stood out was the Thai shrimp .It's one of my go to apps. It's covered in this creamy Thai sauce & has so much flavor. Some places call it bang bang shrimp. As our main course , I had the crab stuffed flounder. I recommend this dish to anyone who loves seafood and fish in general. This came with sautéed shrimp ,spinach , and asparagus on top, mixed in this creamy sauce . The flounder was very good and the crab really paired well with all of the different flavors and textures in this dish. My husband got the steak and shrimp as dinner .The steak was flavorful and not tough . It paired well with the 2 sides that it came with . We finished off with the tuxedo cake. The marbled cake was very moist & had chocolate ganache with tiny crunched pretzels around it .

Yelp
I had a big party of people so I really got a good feel for how the meals looked and how the waitress responded to our requests; AMAZING! I had brunch in mind but others wanted the main menu. The brunch menu was very limited but I was feeling more like brunchy eggy stuff. Almost everyone else went w the main menu. I was a little disappointed in the limited brunch menu as I had specifically come in at brunch hour which goes on till 2:00pm. I ordered crab Benedict and fruit. When it came it looked lonely sitting on the plate w no garnishes and fruit was meh. That cost $18.99. The Benedict was good though. Most folks meals started w a salad and various main meals came out next. Made me wish I had ordered from the main menu. The waitress was very good with getting all the meals and drinks out in a timely fashion, no complaints from anyone. Just 1 server was able to handle our table of 14 people! Kudos to her! Sammy Gs is a great lunch or dinner restaurant with a full bar. I recommend checking it out! They have lotsa good food and friendly staff.

Yelp
3 /12 stars Came here to celebrate a birthday with a group of 7. They immediately seated us upon arrival per our reservation time. The food and drink service was pretty fast once it got going. The room we were seated in didn't have as much ambiance as the rest of the restaurant. It was a back room with about 4 long tables for larger parties. The only problem was that the lighting in this room is very bright compared to the rest of the restaurant. If it could just be dimmed it would make it feel like you weren't in a dining hall. That's basically the only thing I don't like about the venue. Everyone seemed generally happy with their dinners. Nothing amazing but good all around. We had meals ranging from the salmon, chicken teriyaki, pasta, and rib eye. One member of our party commented that the pasta sauce tasted "milky" versus flavorful. They bring little bread rolls with butter to the table to accompany the meal. Some meals came with salad. I asked for no onions; there were onions. I mentioned to the server it was birthday dinner for someone in our party. They brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday guest which was very nice.

Yelp
Service was great restaurant was clean i ordered a salad with crab cake. The salad was alright but the crab cake was not. I could not eat it. My daughter had the fish sandwich and she loved it.

Yelp
Food is always solid, service can be hit or miss depends on where you get seated. Love going on Thursdays because of the $5 martinis (blood orange cosmo is so good). We love the patio there but not always open due to staffing problems. We get their tuna appetizer & entree.

Yelp
Sammy G's is a well-loved local establishment in the north High Point area, and the namesake is that of Sammy Giannopolous, a well-loved restaurateur in the Triad. You can find his fingerprints all over this tavern with several dishes clearly inspired by his original Italian restaurant up the road Gianno's (though that has since changed hands). There is a bit of an Italian flair to this tavern, though you can certainly find American favorites like burgers, fish and chips, etc. as well. We visited a few days before Christmas last year, and the joint was decorated for the season and hoppin! Our server was attentive without being overly so, and all the dishes came out in a timely fashion. We had an order of the house chips as an appetizer, and they definitely don't short you on the portion here for these. The chips were crispier, which I like, I am not one for floppy chips. Dinner came with a house salad, greens were fresh, and I was happy to see that the creamy italian dressing that I grew to love at Gianno's was here for the taking. For dinner I had the stuffed flounder, and while it wasn't disappointing, I was hoping for a bit more flavor from the sauce. Flounder and shrimp are of course kind of bland on their own, could have benefitted from more zing. Overall, I was pleased though. Sammy G's is a great place to take a group or a date anytime of year, and the menu has enough variety to please any palette. We'll come again sometime!

Yelp
Food is always on point here, once again portions size is not in your favor if you eat a lot like me. I order my go-to, which is the stuff flounder it's always on point. You get fresh bread which melts in your mouth, the salad is always on point I eat that with thousands island, didn't order an appetizer this time, order a dessert which was the foster, moist pound cake with bananas Carmel and topped with icecream. 5 star environment, bigger portion for entrée and this would be a 5 star review, for 25 dollars for the stuffed flounder i remeber it being more. Service is always great here

Yelp
We came here after hearing that they have gluten free crabcakes and were pleasantly surprised to find that not only do they have GF crabcakes, they are able to do many gluten free menu items. We did get the crabcakes which is an item that is very hard to find GF, and they were terrific. We also got the shrimp (not GF) which were just as tasty. We had wonderful service at the bar and our food was fast and delicious as well. We will certainly be coming back, although maybe not every week as the price was on the higher side. For that price they certainly don't skimp on portion size and quality though, so we didn't feel that Sammy G's was overpriced in anyway. The space is large and looks like a good place to bring friends or a group as well.

Yelp
First time there on a Saturday evening. Party of 11, and we didn't expect to be seated together. Offered to have them split us into two groups (5/6). Before the hostess can answer, the manager says there is "No Way" we can be seated in less than hour. My wife asked to our name in and we would ask the rest of the party when they arrived if they wanted to stay or go. Magically- they found seating for for us in 5 minutes... Service was painfully slow for a Saturday evening- not sure if there was enough staff on or what. Waitress was very nice though. Food was really good. My wife had the Fratelli salad, my adolescent children had the Texas chicken club, Sammy G burger, and Caesar Salad with Chicken. Of those three, only the Caesar salad ( dressing) was off. I had the wings - advertised as a Texas Pete brown sugar sauce. The flavor was fine ( Hot flavor) but the brown sugar component was non existent. Overall nice visit. Manager maybe needs to be more thoughtful in his initial greeting and analyze their staffing needs during high traffic times.

Yelp
Had a really good dinner here. Service was friendly and our server was lovely, quiet ambiance on Sunday and not busy. BF enjoyed his shrimp tacos, cousin his tuna dish and I loved my stuffed flounder. Portions were perfect for us. I'll be back to try more!

Yelp
5 Star salad!! I stopped into Sammy G's for lunch to get the legendary Fratelli's salad. It has Granny Smith apples, dried cranberries, candied pecans, mozzarella and feta along with the house dressing. I added grilled chicken as well. I had very delicious food with generous portions and excellent customer service. I will be back to visit with friends and family!
google avatar

Yelp
I had the blackened salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was good and so were the fries. The food was ready and served a lot quicker than I expected although it as crowded for Father's Day. My niece had the blackened shrimp tacos and regular fries. She also stated her food was good. She said the aoli sauce was lemon flavored, which was different, but she still liked it. The restaurant is nice with an almost western look but with a bit of elegance.
google avatar

Noelle M.

Yelp
The food is decent, but nothing mind blowing. It's an affordable, casual iItalian/american pub food sort of place. The mixed drinks are very sweet, and the service is a bit slow in my experience. Best items in the menu are the spicy shrimp appetizer (very similar to bang bang shrimp), and the Fratellis salad with their house Italian dressing which is the same as Fratellis in Winston (same owner, I believe). Pasta, steaks, sandwiches, and even tacos (doing a little too much to do it well, maybe?). Picture is of the Mediterranean Pasta which was ok. It's not bad or excellent, it just is middle of the road.

Yelp
First visit but not our last ! Enjoyed a tasty and satisfying meal of Blackened mahi, with Parmesan creamed corn, and a house salad with their own Creamy Italian dressing. The wife's dish differed only with Salmon. All very delicious and served quickly. Finishing with a sinful Bananas Foster (Nana's Foster) for dessert. Kudos to our waitress, Charlotte, who was very pleasant and accommodating. Looking forward to our next visit and exploring the menu further.

Yelp
Excellent Atmosphere, Drinks,Food & Service. The Thai Shrimp appetizer was plentiful & tasty. Loved the house salad, especially with the homemade Creamy Italian dressing. I had the Bourbon Pork Chop & my wife had the Crab Cakes. We had the parmesan cream corn & brussel sprouts sides. Everything was delicious & delightful. Great assortment of craft beers & wines. Dena, our waitress was attentive, friendly & all smiles. Large bar & dining area to accommodate everyone. Lots to appreciate here. Looking forward to more visits. Best Regards Mustang USMC Retired

Yelp
Went to Sammy G's for the first time after living in high point for 5years! Our waitress Ashley was really nice! The bread they give you before your food is amazing!! We definitely asked for more! The salmon was really good & seasoned! The lighting was dim perfect for a date! The place was clean. We will definitely be going back!

Yelp
We ended up at Sammy G's for the first time in a very long time this past weekend. It was a Saturday evening so I was expecting a wait but luckily we were able to grab a table quickly. Our server was very good and attentive. The restaurant was busy but the wait staff stayed polite, attentive, and kind. The meal starts with these little rolls that hit the spot if you come in hungry. My husband picked the Blackened Salmon Sandwich with the chips. He said it had such a great taste and the blackening was the perfect level. I tasted one of his chips and they were perfectly crisp. I ordered the Tavern Chicken which comes with mashed potatoes and corn, as well as a side salad. My Caesar side salad was very good--the salad was well dressed and the dressing wasn't too "goopy" or heavy. My only super minor complaint was the salad took a bit to come out, and our server brought us more bread in the interim. The chicken was sheer perfection! I was hesitant about the tomato (they aren't my favorite) but the tomato added the perfect amount of acid which added to the flavor. The corn might be my favorite! If they gave out the recipe, I'd take it! Looking back, I'd ask for corn instead of the potatoes, they were just that good!

Yelp
First time here on a Friday evening. We got there early so we were seated right away. The atmosphere, food & service all very good. Started out with a really good pineapple cider. For entrees I had the stuffed flounder. My husband had a steak & cheese sandwich. We both had dessert. I had the crème brûlée. My husband a brownie sundae. We will definitely return to this great restaurant!

Yelp
Well, the food is cooked by a real chef and it shows in the flavor and quality. The service is always good and it has a great bar area and a relaxed but upscale vibe. Note: it can get loud in the front - quieter in the back room

Yelp
This one has been on the list for a long time now, so when we had to decide where to go for dinner with a work friend this was the gonto place. We went on Saturday for dinner and the place was really busy. We had to wait 5-10 mins to be decided and saw every table was packed. Once seated the server came out quickly and took our drink orders. The place like the name suggests is a tavern sobyou can sut at the bar kr a table or booths. I ordered the blackened salmonbwith a side of mashed potatoes. Before anything else they brought out the bread which was absolutely DELICIOUS! The food in itself was really good, although i wished it were a little spicier. But for the steep dinner price of $22, I wished the portion size was bigger. Nonetheless it was definitely a great visit and I would love to visit again but for lunch this time when their menu items are a bit cheaper.

Yelp
We don't get to High Point very often and from the reviews decided to try Sammy G's. Didn't realize it is part of the same restaurant group that owns Fertellis and Three Bulls. I would say this sits in between these two. More of a nice neighborhood bar with pretty much an American menu. I tried the soup which was great and then had the wings, which were okay. Eating at the bar, the bartender was very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
We decided to finally check out Sammy G's for my birthday. We were wanting something close by since it was during the week after work and rainy outside. Since this place always looks busy, I figured it had to be good. And it was. Honestly, I feel like the service alone would keep me coming back. Our waitress was wonderful. The menu offers a good variety of selections and the restaurant itself is nice inside. Unfortunately my birthday seems to coincide with many office get togethers for the holidays so the noise level was a little louder than expected, but I feel like it was mostly isolated to a particular party, so I won't fault the restaurant for that. The rainy weather had the chili looking really appealing so I decided to swap my salad in favor of a bowl of it. It was delicious! Great for a cold rainy evening and very flavorful. Dare I say my favorite part of my whole meal, even. My husband had the Caesar salad which was very well dressed and tasty as well. You also receive a basket of bread complimentary with the meal. We decided to try the pretzel on a hook as an appetizer. It came out of the kitchen quickly and was very soft and seasoned nicely with coarse salt. Unfortunately, no hook so it didn't photograph as well but that didn't affect the taste one bit. The cheese sauce was similar to a pepperjack queso rather than the typical nacho cheese. Our waitress was a huge help in finally nailing down our entrees. I have the worst trouble with making decisions when the entire menu sounds so good! She recommended going with the fresh catch of the day over a steak and honestly, it's not hard to sell me once you mention it can be served blackened. So mahi mahi it was for me with a side of steamed broccoli. The seasoning was perfect on the fish but I feel it was cooked a little too long. The broccoli was broccoli, no real particular seasoning or anything special about it. There were a few pieces of red bell pepper to offer some flavor but I think I may have had two total so it didn't offer a lot. My husband opted for the bone in pork chop special which was topped with cooked apples and served with mashed potatoes and his choice of Greek green beans. The pork chop was tasty, although maybe a touch over cooked and the mashed potatoes were extra thin. The green beans were very good though we weren't sure what exactly to expect. They had almost a stewed tomato base that reminded me of tomatoes and okra. Overall, everything was tasty and it was a good meal. I had to knock one start for the slight overcooking of the proteins but would be willing to give them another shot based on everything else mentioned.

Yelp
When we first entered, the place was crowded, and we soon learnt just why. Even though we went there on a weekend without any reservation, we didn't have to wait very long to be seated and then waited on. First we were brought some bread rolls with butter. The bread was very soft and tasty. A nice way to start the meal. I had ordered a chicken gyro with sweet potato fries, which was as yummy as it was filling. My husband had ordered blackened salmon, which was tasty but pretty small for the price. Other than that, we had a good time at the tavern and the food tastes yum, answering why the place keeps busy.

Yelp
We had our son's rehearsal dinner here, no regrets, just time management challenges. The delicious food was delayed coming from the kitchen since we were a group of 20 and they also needed to work in an already busy restaurant on a Thursday night. The person in charge of managing our room left early that day, with permission. So I guided the staff when asked what they could do to help, they brought more servings of bread and refilled drinks. Had I known, I would have filled the time with more entertaining and wedding activities. They were great about guiding us through the reservation and selecting the menu options. Their newly updated banquet room gave us privacy and a dedicated staff to attend to our needs. They offer the ability to bring your own wine paying a corking fee, which saves a lot of money and let you choose. I called several times to talk to the owner, never once received a call back. I'm leaving this post with a hope that it'll help someone else. Again- great food and the staff was amazing, beautiful venue, private space, just make plans to fill in the gaps and you will have a great time.

Yelp

Plus every meal that I have ever eaten has been a wonderful experience !!! From the chicken and waffles to a delicious filet mignon !!! If you're looking for great food and service you should try Sammy G's .

Yelp
We just had our second visit to Sammy G's Tavern. I'm definitely adding this to our list of Triad favorites. Food: Absolutely yes! During our first visit, I had the Sammie G's Burger and my husband had the blackened salmon. Both were really good. I also tried their sweet potato fries and highly recommend those. This visit I had the grilled salmon and sautéed vegetables. This will be my new go-to meal. Be ware of the complimentary bread. It's so delicious! Atmosphere/Location: while it is off Eastchester, you have to go back into the shopping center. There is plenty of parking available. The inside dining room is pretty large. They've easily accommodated our large group (10+) during both visits without using their event space. Speaking of, they offer a nice private dining area that looks like it could comfortably hold a group of 25-30 people. They also have done outdoor seating on their patio. Service: the hostess are friendly and the wait staff has been great during both visits. During the recent visit, our waitress anticipated all of our needs and we wanted for nothing. Our food came out hot and fresh in a more than reasonable time. Dessert: The restaurant partners with Cheesecakes by Alex, which are amazing. However, I highly recommend walking next door to Uncle Cheesecake. Those are some of the best desserts ever. You may recognize the owner from the show Chopped.

Yelp
Dined here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Upon entry, we didn't wait long to be seated in a booth. There were only two other groups dining in at the time and only one person serving the area. While waiting, I did notice that they offer outdoor seating as well. Our server, Dema was such a delight! We even shared a moment about our names & plenty of laughs during our time here. I know what you're here for, so let's get into it. I usually eat light and this was no different. After reviewing the menus, I decided on the Tavern salad with the creamy Italian dressing. The salad was pretty simple but filling! The bite size bread that they bring to the table is yummy! Don't eat too much before your meal. I also ordered the hibiscus mule, which was sweet and refreshing. To whomever suggested the soup, THANK YOU! My wife ordered the lobster bisque soup & it truly made her day! She initially ordered the cup versus bowl portion and regretted it with the first spoonful. Needless to say, she had another cup before leaving. Dema was even nice enough to draft up a pomegranate tea for the wife upon request. We would return again based on the reasonably priced menu, awesome service, and overall feel of the place!

Yelp
the service is always amazing and i've never ordered something i didn't like! The salmon is their specialty but i recommend the ahi tuna!!

Yelp
My friends and I stopped here for a lovely lunch and cocktails! We were all very pleased! To start with, the drinks were delicious. I ordered the Leid Out Martini which was very sweet and delicious. My friend ordered the 1800 hibiscus margarita which was different than the typical lime margarita and VERY tasty! We all got salads. Very fresh and dressed well. Croutons were crispy little bites of heaven! The bread brought to the table was also the best bread roll I've had in a while. Dipped in the Caesar from the salad As for entrees, I ordered the Greek pasta with shrimp no olives. It was AMAZING. The lemony zesty sauce marched perfectly with the feta and the shrimp. The shrimps were tailless and perfect size. One friend ordered the blackened salmon well done with their creamed corn (sweet and yummy!) with a side of mashed potatoes. She was overwhelmingly happy with her meal and wanted to return the next day lol. Second friend ordered the baked pasta with chicken. It was a very heart size and was deliciously covered in sauce and cheese. My friend only ate half of it and unfortunately her leftovers were thrown away however, they politely and quickly remade more for her to take home! Excellent service! The chocolate molten lava cake was the perfect way to ens the meal. I look forward to more lunches here!

Yelp
Obviously, they were busy. It's Saturday night before St. Patrick's Day. We chose to sit outside, believe that may have been our first mistake. The chairs had not been wiped down at all. Had to ask twice for them to wipe them down before I could sit. I get it it's outside, but if you're seating outside, make sure everything is wiped down. Thought I'd bring my son here. He had never been to Sammy G's, as he's from Michigan. We both ordered beers and water. Ordered fried onion ribbons for our appetizer. It came out quickly. So quickly it beat our beers and water . Speaking of water, we were on our second beers when the waitress graced us with our water. 40 minutes after asking. It took over an hour for the rest of our food, 2 sandwiches. We should have gone to Subway. Anyway, my fish sandwich was decent, and you can't really mess up cut-up fruit. My son's steak and cheese had basically no cheese, cold in the center, no flavor. His sautéed spinach which there is an up charge for wasn't even sautéed, more like barely steamed, and no garlic or seasoning.( no salt or pepper on the table either) you shouldn't have to ask, but figured It'd be an hour for that. He did say his pickle was hot. It's probably from our food sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The waitress came to our table after we were about done and asked how everything was. Told her the truth. My son was starving and could barely eat their food. The manager was kind enough to take my son's meal off the ticket.

Yelp
Chicken gyro was good but sweet fries had too much cinnamon flavor. I recommend this place

Yelp
Fav lunch spot in high point! Salad is a little expensive ($20 in April'23) but it gets me a meal and a half. Service is typically pretty quick. Atmosphere could be considered outdated, it's not an "instagrammable" place per say, but fortunately it's a lunch spot with great food and service.

Yelp
The food was really good pre-pandemic. Same for the staff. Unfortunately, I do not believe they recovered. The decor has been the same for 15 yrs. The bathrooms are atrocious. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. The food is okay for the price that you pay. It's been there so long that people ignore the little things that should not be ignored. The ingredients used have definitely taken a step backwards. They need a refresh of the physical restaurant and quality of the food needs to go back to what it once was about 3 years ago. Hire more staff

Yelp
Girls night out with a friend who lives in the area suggested Sammy G's. It was a Friday night and pretty busy but we scored a table. We ordered two glasses of wine and ordered our food. Both we served by a waitress that was professional and well trained. Always worries us when wait staff don't write things down but our orders came out perfect. Food was hot and delicious!! Atmosphere is suitable for a Girls Night Out or Date Night. You could bring your family but I would suggest older kids not ones that would be loud and antsy.

Yelp
Service is always the best. Very friendly environment with exquisite food and wine. Try the Sesame Tuna (my favorite) I promise it will not disappoint.

Yelp
Traveling for work and finding a spot that serves food that stands out is always a delight. After my first meal here months ago I thought how good it was, was a stroke of luck. Came back to the area and gave Sammy G's a second shot, it did not disappoint. This spot will certainly be at the top of my list each time I come back in the area.

Yelp
There are better restaurants in the area for the price. The mixed drinks and appetizer were not great. The margarita and ahi tuna were disappointing. I expected much better quality.

Yelp
Found another gem today. We were out shopping and just looking for a quick snack and cocktail. We arrived after lunch and before dinner so it was not busy. We were seated right away and our server was super friendly. He has worked there for 13 years which is always a good sign. He was super helpful and gave some great recommendations. We settled on the calamari and shrimp. I think the shrimp could have been a little more spicy since it mentions spicy in the description. Next time I will go on Thursday when the martinis are 5.00. Also recommended by our server!

Yelp
My family loves to gather for anything and we typically do it around food. This has become our favorite place for our gatherings. The food is great and the location is perfect for large groups.

Yelp
I truly did not expect this place to be as great as it was! It's kinda of hidden if you're not from the area, but worth the visit! Because it was storming we ordered appetizers and a flight of beers while there and took the entrees home. The appetizers were royal Thai shrimp and their wings. I dont eat wings but my girlfriend said they were great. They looked and smelled really good to me. The shrimp was fried, lightly and delicious. The app portion were enough to share and just enough for a snacker until we got home. You should really try the Thai shrimp if you like a bit of spice. The beer flight was incredible and before we order there was even a small sample provided. Our flight was (2) Strawberry Lemonade Sour, Mimosa sour, and a Watermelon beer. We really enjoy sour beer and THIS flight satisfied the palate! The entrees were Stuffed Flounder and Lemon Chicken. The sauce on the lemon chicken is very creamy, and the lemon twang compliments the grilled chicken well. Get the creamed corn as a side, it's delicious! Kinda sweet, and buttery! It's delicious! Both entrees reheat well and the chicken dinner was enough for two people, the flounder dish is a bit smaller but very filling! A hidden little gem, with fantastic food, and service. The bar guest were very friendly as well. We had conversations sparked up with us on both sides.

Yelp
Eliminate the practice of asking your patrons to leave after they finished dinner because you reserved tables for others. I have never been so offended by any restaurant manager in my life as I was when we were basically asked to leave to make room for more patrons Do not make your problem become our problem. And by the way, your fish sandwich, hardened with crust and a taste worse than a day-old McDonald's Fish Filet sandwich, sucks ass.
