The Best Places to Dine in Fredericksburg, Virginia | Eater DC

"Around since 1981, Sammy T’s is a longstanding destination for vegetarians around town. Fried tofu and broccoli, abundant salads, and falafel or black bean pitas are all popular here, and the menu also carves out room for carnivores in the mood for flat-iron steak and juicy burgers. Rotating deals include half-priced bottles of wine on Wednesdays." - Robey Martin

We stopped at Sammy T's on our way back to Arlington. We ended up having lunch there by chance. The place is one or two blocks from the waterfront park; very convenient. It is a top family-friendly restaurant. The staff was nice and flexible; the food tasty and prices were reasonable. The blue cheese cream was amazing! Definitely going again next time we are at Fredericksburg. My kiddos insisted in giving them five stars :).

I was working downtown and finally stopped by — sure didn’t regret it! YMMAS Pizza (hidden in the back of Sammy T’s) is a legit Chicago-style deep-dish spot. Buttery crust, tons of cheese, and loaded toppings. The sauce is the best I've had in years. I will be back with the family to share. If you haven't been, you should stop by! Keep in mind, it takes about 30 minutes for the magic to happen, so pop in, order, have a walk or play down at the River Front park about a block away. 12/10 - would eat again!

Great food, great restaurant embedded in the lovely old town of Fredericksburg, VA. For us it was a coincidence to find this hidden gem as it was part of our road trip, where we want to discover new places. Steven made our stay very pleasant and did a great job! Dessert was delicious too.

Holy Pizza. I was down in Fredericksburg for the day, from Herndon, and stumbled upon Sammy Ts. I saw deep dish pizza on the menu. I love it in Chicago so thought I’d try it. It may be good. Well, was I surprised. It was Better than any deep dish pizza I’ve ever had in Chicago. The crust was crispy, soooo much cheese, and the sauce perfect. I'm looking for an excuse to get back.

Even though my daughter and I live in Fredericksburg I had never been to Sammy t's until tonight! My father and mother were in town and I decided to try it out! Absolutely fabulous on all accounts! My daughter and I had burgers made with local beef (Virginia). My parents absolutely loved their meal as well. Well the food was delicious the service was even better. Thank you Ethan for being so attentive. You are one of the highlights of the evening! We will definitely be coming back in to say hello!

Visited this place several times in the past few months and never left disappointed. The menu is vegetarian friendly with numerous positions for non meat eaters. Food was always amazing. A lentil something soup was so delicious, I wish it was back in the menu. Vegetarian chili and tomato cream soups also very tasty. Vegetarian burger patty and falafel also very good. The staff was always friendly, and service was good. Overall, visiting this place has always been a pleasure so far. Will for sure come back many more times. The only thing I could complain a little about, are the spider webs outside on the walls by the tables. Not a big deal since I’ll always have my husband sit closer to them, but I just think that would be a nice detail to take care of!
