Whenever my workout crew takes over the booths at Sampa’s Pizza, I’m reminded: this isn’t just pizza, it’s an experience woven from family, flavor and fierce love. At 820 Wilshire Blvd, right in Santa Monica, Sampa’s stands out – not just as another pizzeria, but as a true neighborhood treasure.
Santa Monica Daily Press has a review on em too
From the moment you step in you sense it — the warmth of a family-owned place, staff with Brazilian-inflected smiles, and a menu that balances comfort and flair. (Their “Meat Lovers” is my go-to: sausage, bacon, pepperoni, caramelized onions and mozzarella — chef’s kiss.)
And when I want something built for taste-adventure, I order the “Chiapas” and another salad to-go. It’s authentic Brazilian style meeting American love for pizza, and they nail it.
What makes Sampa’s even more special with my crew:
We walk out of our workout, gather our tribe, and immediately feel “our table” is waiting.
The booths fill up and we laugh, we linger, we share slices and stories.
The flavors: bold, fresh, generous. You taste the fresh toppings, the quality dough, the heart behind it.
The Brazilian style: You’ll find chicken with corn + catupiry, calabresa sausage + olives, heart of palm pizzas — this isn’t your average pepperoni.
The setting: warm lighting, friendly vibe, good for crew gatherings and casual hang-outs alike.
One special note: When you arrive, glance at the register — you’ll find a little origami I left there. If you ask, the staff might even share a few extras. Think of it as a tiny treasure hunt and a personal “Congratulations” for finding this gem with us.
If you’re in Santa Monica and haven’t yet treated yourself to Sampa’s — do it. Grab that Meat Lovers, dive into the Brazilian-specialty section, snag a salad for the next day, and join us in the booth takeover. It’s one of my happiest “go-to” places. 🥂🍕
