Sam's Crispy Chicken - West Loop

I'm a little surprised by the poor reviews and almost did order from here because of it - but very glad I did end up ordering. I got the spicy chicken sandwich and fries which were very good, but the packaging was one of my favorite parts. The boxes have little air holes that keep the sandwich and fries from getting soggy. It was some of the better delivery I've had because of it. The spicy sandwich was juicy and a decent size and the waffle fries were cripsy and delicious. I would recommend ordering from here.

Chicken was mushy, the batter tasted like old oil. The sauces weren’t well balanced in flavor, and the diablo sauce was just straight fire in the mouth without any complexity or taste. The Belgian waffle was okay, and ultimately the only thing that was truly edible. Even then it was far from great. Really bummed about this especially given the price and how nice the packaging is. Have never been to the associated Umami Burger, but the experience here was so bad I’m hesitant to even try it.

Ordered the 3/4 pound chicken bites. They were hard as a rock and had the acrid, sooty flavor of week old fryer oil. Possibly the worst chicken I’ve ever had, including my own heinous attempts at cooking. $14 essentially dumped directly into the trash. One extra star because the sauces and fries were on point.

Totally Disappointed! We ordered from here to support them during the lockdown, but instead of delivering us the large Chicken order that we ordered, they sent us boxes of waffle fries with NO CHICKEN!? ZERO CHICKEN! Really!? What a joke! How insulting! sending boxes of soggy French fries!! If That is how you treat people who attempt to help you stay open, You steal from them and send them soggy French fries!?!? THEN NO THANK YOU! WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH YOU EVER AGAIN

Ordered the chicken tenders from this place with loaded fries and was HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTED. The tenders were fried so hard that they were dry and completely inedible — not to mention it lacked taste. What a waste of money.

Ordered from doordash and received a pretty good chicken sandwich and waffle fries. About 2/3rds the portion of chick-fil-a and double the price. I wouldn't recommend you order from here since you'll need to order two $10 sandwiches to get a decent meal

Disappointed the chicken did not seem fresh and was lacking in taste. But Belgian waffle was good and dense. Sauce and waffle fries was also good but I wouldn't come back for the chicken :(

Tasty food and easy pick up experience! I was confused because I couldn’t see any Sam’s signage, but it’s inside umami burger. The fried pickles were incredible!

Great spot for chicken sandwiches. Ordered a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and waffle fries. Enjoyed them both. The fries were crispy and came with jalapeño ranch which paired great. The Nashville hot chicken had a nice kick to it. I am fan of spice so I would say it could always use more heat ;) Overall, pretty great! Will definitely order again!

This place is a very average fried chicken place with a few comfort food offerings. My girlfriend and I ordered from here through Postmates, and the food came on-time, still warm, and the order was correct. It came in a nondescript brown bag (no logo, just our receipt staples to it) so keep that in mind. We can't complain too much, but we also can't rave about this place either. We ordered: -The Classic Chicken Sandwich w/ BBQ Sauce -Mac & Cheese -Fried Pickles w/ Classic Sauce -Waffle Fries w/ Classic Sauce The best item was probably the waffle fries which were well seasoned and still crispy when we got them. The chicken sandwich was filling but honestly just meh, and the batter on the chicken was crispy on the outside, but mushy and soggy closer to the chicken itself. I also found the sandwich to be a bit bland, but I didn't like the BBQ sauce very much so I opted not to put it on the sandwich. The Classic sauce was awesome (a lot like the McDonald's Big Mac sauce) and I thought it went well with everything. The fried pickles were a great price ($3.50) and you got quite a lot of them too! Some were crispy, but most were pretty soggy when we got them, but that's not really Sam's fault. The big issue we had was the Mac & Cheese. My girlfriend really doesn't like spicy food, and when we read the description of the mac & cheese, we had no reason to think it was spicy, but damn! It was so spicy! At first I thought she must be exaggerating, but after I tasted it, I had to agree with her. We ended up just throwing it out because neither of us liked it. The cayenne pepper was just way too much. All in all, this place is okay. Nothing awful, but nothing noteworthy either. I probably wouldn't order from here again, but I think it's worth trying if you're interested.

Spicy chicken sandwich was ok. Bread was a bit dry and a little large for the sandwich throwing off proportion. Chicken was thin and decently cooked. Chicken lacked heat, tenderness, and flavor that some of the best sandwiches have. Condiments paired nicely with the sandwich. Overall an ok sandwich, but I wouldn't go out of my way to reorder. Truffle ketchup and umami-mustard sauces were awesome. Pickup from Umami Burger...possibly a cloud kitchen situation?

Worst place ever to order food from. Plus management is super rude. Would literally have you 45 min waiting for your order. But whole time it's in the table And than says go ahead and cancel Your order I don't care. As if the customer hasn't been waiting LONG enough plus get our food cold. I would reconsider the team I have. The short African guy who also took names and walked away while while time food is behind him getting cold. It's 8:30 so check your front end team. I recommend no one to order from this place as they don't care about their customers.

Great experience through Postmates. Ordered the Original Sam's Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the Loaded Waffle Fries and they were both quite good. Great flavors and sauces. Really enjoyed the fries with the truffle ketchup. Would recommend for a tasty good priced meal.

Garbage garbage garbage. Completely screwed up our order and left my wife's entire meal off. Please close this place, you can't even take care of a simple order!! And my food was cold and had mold all over the chicken...disgusting. Should be closed by the health inspector! OMG, throwing up right now, chicken not cooked, food poisoning, so terrible. Please don't make the mistake of ordering from here. McDonald's would be better!

The Miso Mustard is just mustard. The chicken bites were dark and tasted like they were coated with mustard or soaked in vinegar before being fried. They were really tangy. The waffle fries were subpar as well. The best part was the truffle ketchup. I didn't finish my food.

Order was wrong and the food we did get was lukewarm and meh.... When your entire platform is delivery, you'd better place more emphasis on ensuring people get what they ordered.

I decided to order this on DoorDash because of there cheap prices and never looked at any reviews. After my order of getting a chicken sandwich, chicken bites, fried pickles, and mac n cheese I looked at the reviews and got nervous. I knew that there was no turning back so I got the order and had low expectations. Me and my girlfriend ended up really liking the food when we started to pick at it. The chicken sandwich was pretty hot and the chicken was a little dry but honestly not bad. The fried pickles were some of my favorite ones ever. They were super crispy and the quantity was huge for only 3.50$! Mac n cheese was kind of whatever. But the chicken bites were great! Perfectly cooked and those can be hard to get right. Overall, not a bad meal. Enjoyed most of the meal and nothing was necessarily "bad" like the reviews were saying. Not too shabby Sams crispy chicken.... not too shabby.

The Diablo Chicken Sandwich was absolutely disgusting. I ordered through Caviar and for some reason I didn't think to look at any of the reviews first. I guess I just assumed that you can't go wrong with a chicken sandwich. I looked at the reviews after I completed my order, only because my coworker wanted to know what I ordered for lunch. I was so shocked to see that they only had 1 star. I was started to get scared that my food wouldn't be great but at this point it was too late, I had already placed the order. When my food got to my job my coworkers kept reassuring me that they were sure the food would be good. Well they were wrong, the sandwich was absolutely disgusting, the chicken was dryer than a reheated Popeyes biscuit with no honey (you know you can only eat them fresh). They put a lot of toppings on the sandwich and I believe it is to cover up how nasty the sandwich actually is. The only thing that was good was the the waffle fries, at least they didn't mess that up. I will NEVER be ordering food from here again.

Spent too much money for below average food. I could name maybe a dozen chicken places I would go to in the area before I go to sams. Ordered delivery and they forgot fries. The Mac n cheese was somehow worse than Kraft. The chicken sandwiches were decent at best.
