The 19 Best Restaurants In Calistoga

"Part of the Indian Springs Resort, Sam’s has one of the best outdoor dining scenes in Calistoga, and is located on a beautiful property with palm trees, hammocks, and lawn games everywhere. Prepare to sink in around the bonfire or take a seat under the massive clear tent that keeps the outdoor space open (and heated) year-round. The brunch and dinner here are excellent, with options like the better-than-it-should-be breakfast pizza, and grilled avocado toast on seeded bread. At dinner, get the grilled pork chop with polenta, and the hearty roasted cauliflower steak in a spicy tomato ragu. Regardless of when you eat here, all meals should end with the candy cap churros served with a dulce de leche dip we dream about." - christina julian

Where to Drink Cocktails in Napa Valley - AFAR

"A circa-2015 Calistoga bar with a colorful mural by Lauren McIntosh and a playful cocktail program: a chilled Pimm’s Cup served in a goblet with ample cucumber, a house grape‑infused vodka used with local wine for a summer sangria, and the notable Agua Caliente made with passionfruit purée, house‑infused habanero vodka, and sugar." - Matt Villano

Came for brunch before wine tasting. Warm banana bread was a great started. Of the entrees, I liked the egg in a hole best. Parmesan crust and truffle sauce were delicious. Benedict was standard.

We had a phenomenal time here, and we’ll definitely be paying them another visit on our next trip to Napa! We split the Sam’s Cheeseburger and can safely say this was the best burger we’ve ever had!! This burger had fantastic flavor, was cooked to perfection and it melted with each bite! The Philly Cheesesteak Hash was delicious and we believe this was a special during our visit. In addition, we order the Candy Cap Churros for dessert, which was also a standout here! On top of all that is their amazing staff, we were very impressed with the overall service! We highly recommend coming up to Calistoga and trying Sam’s Social Club, you won’t be disappointed! Visited Sam’s Social Club at the end of 2024.

This is a relaxed wine country restaurant on the property of Indian Springs resort. They have an interesting and diverse menu that has something for most diets and palates. We enjoyed a late lunch and birthday cocktails. The cobb salad and drinks were amazing. The outdoor patio is beautiful but it was a bit warm when we arrived so we opted for inside seating.

Google
Excellent food and friendly staff. Tammy was very helpful to set up table for us in the patio with the heat lamp in the evening. Alex the server made great food recommendations and explanations for their homemade pasta. He noticed they might have the last order of pasta for the day remaining so he quickly reserved that order with the kitchen and they came back to take the rest of our order. The pasta was delicious and glad we had a chance to try it. The grilled octopus was crunch outside and tender inside. Steak frite was also tasty. Apple crumble with vanilla gelato ice cream hit the pot after a very enjoyable dinner. We would definitely come back to more.

Google
Best American restaurant I’ve been to yet! The candy cap churros were amazing, I couldn’t believe churros could ever be so light and airy. The octopus and piri piri chicken were cooked to perfection.

The hotel we stayed overnight after our Napa wine tastings doesn’t have restaurants on site. We went to Sam’s Social Club which was 10 -15 minutes walk from our hotel , based on our hotel concierge’s recommendation. 5 stars is a combination of food quality and customer service. We were a party of four adults and we enjoyed our dishes for their portions and tastes.

Google
We fell in dang love with this spot. The drinks were a m a z i n g (pisco sour and guy's getaway in particular), and the dishes we had were above and beyond. ABOVE and beyond. They killed the cheese board—absolutely flawless—and the octopus and the panzanella with burrata were noteworthy as heck. My husband is still talking about the octopus, and I don't think he's gonna stop anytime soon. Freaking bravo, man. We were so satisfied eating here.

Google
So glad we finally came here! Vegetarian stuffed poblano amazing. Dinner guest said his salmon was the best he’d ever had. So delicious! Every bite!

Yelp
This is the first Yelp food review I've ever written. And I'm older and eat out a lot. So it was the cheeseburger at Sam's Social Club that I must rave about. First, we didn't have reservations and sat in the bar area. Our server was excellent. What a wonderful restaurant. But to the cheeseburger. This was the best cheeseburger I have ever eaten. Perfectly grilled to medium rare. Brioche bun and fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. All perfectly cut to the size of the bun. Aioli matched perfectly with the cheddar cheese. This was so good I told my wife that I was going to order it for dessert too.

Yelp
5 STARS! This place is a hidden gem! I am already plotting on coming back. The food was amazing, everything taste super fresh and clean and like love was put into it. The staff was super super friendly and helpful! The ambience is nice and serine. It's attached to a resort but it's open to the public. This is a good day for a Mother's Day brunch or to celebrate. The drinks were ON POINT and the bread and butter they serve is perfection. You can tell the butter is freshly churned and well as the bread is baked with love! I will be back soon! What we ordered: Chicken sandwich 9/10 Burger (added fried egg) 8.5/10 Marg. Pizza 6.5/10 Lavender 75 (made alcoholic) 10/10 Espresso martini 10/10 the cream top makes the whole drink! Mimosas 9/10 - the cava they use is amazing :)

Yelp
Food is excellent, but the rest is soooo pretentious!! Made reservations for lunch over the phone which felt like a big deal to get a table during the week for lunch. 1st offer was 4 minutes after current time which seemed a bit of a joke. Especially as I had ask for 1 hour later. The second choice was 1.15 as 1pm seemed fully booked. When we arrived the table wasn't set and we were asked to sit and wait. Mind you there were less than a total of 12 guests in the entire restaurant. Again food was and usually is excellent but the rest is a joke.

Yelp
Went in to Sam's Social Club after a long day at the pool. We were famished and excited for dinner! We called from our room and asked for a 6pm reservation but they would not accommodate our party of 6 until 6:45. We showed up promptly at 6:45 and the restaurant had 3 other tables seated inside, why could we not have been accommodated at 6pm I'm unsure. Apps: Ceviche- Tarro chips were so good, perfectly salted! The ceviche itself was a miss, cantalope with shrimp, it was just off. Pork Belly- Delicious, very flavorful. Ceasar salad- Really nice simple salad, great classic starter. Entrees: Chicken- Simple, cooked nicely and not dry but the dish was very boring, it was just chicken, sauce and heir coverts (green beans) Pasta- Tagliatelle with a lobster sauce and shrimp. This dish was extremely disappointing, there was no sauce on the pasta, it was in the bottom of the bowl and when I mixed my pasta into it there was not enough for the entire dish to be covered so I was eating dry pasta noodles. The sauce itself had no lobster flavor whatsoever. The shrimps were cooked nicely, but sugar snap peas were not, they were tough. This dish had so much potential but it was a huge miss. Ribeye Steak x3- There were mixed opinions of the steak at dinner, they were cooked Rare, Medium, and Medium Well. The ribeyes were very fatty and lacked salt, the herb sauce lacked flavor and salt, large potato wedges is a side I would not have chosen for this dish. Dessert: Candy cap churros- DEVINE. Overall for a party of 6 we paid over $1,000 for dinner (including wine of course) and the food really let us down. For this price point in this valley, the food has got to get better. I do want to point out the 5 stars I would give The Chaise Lounge if they had their own yelp page The chicken quesadilla was delicious, the chips and guacamole were refreshing and the pizza was a hit with the kids! Perfect and simple pool side food!

Yelp
Me and a group of friends came here for a dinner reservation after a long day of wine tasting on a Saturday. The restaurant was nice enough to seat us early to enjoy appetizers and cocktails until dinner service started. We got the Cheese Board, Ricotta Crostini, and Baba Ghanoush. I did like that there was a variety of entrees with a wide range of prices. Everyone in our party found something they could enjoy. The special for the day was a Squid Ink Pasta (~$40) and Prime Rib Dinner ($65). The Prime Rib came with Potato Croquettes and 1/2 Steamed Artichoke. Worth the price! The one downside is that the restaurant is attached to the Indian Spring Resort, so there were a lot of families with children coming for dinner. Not the vibe I was looking for.

Yelp
Yummm this was so good. We got everything. I loved the churros and the banana bread, but especially the churros. Some of the best I've ever had. The menu is sprawling and they really do have so many things that are unique. I got the breakfast pizza because I'd never had something like it before. It was so good, and also weirdly light given its cheese, egg and bacon. I ate pretty much all of it. I also got a latte, very good. The server also brought out their house made hot sauce and ketchup. Watch out - that sauce is HOT, but really flavorful! I put a little on my pizza and egg and my mouth was on fire. We sat outside with some heat lamps, but the inside is lovely too!

Yelp
One of our long time favorite spot in Calistoga, we of course had to stop by for dinner during our weekend visit. It has been a couple years since our last visit but the place was just as how we remembered - friendly servers, excellent drinks, wonderful food, and a beautiful outdoor dining area. For appetizer we had grilled octopus, and for entree we had the pasta of the day, homemade pasta with lamb ragu, and the prime rib. Both were very yummy! For dessert we could not pass up the churro! It was among the best we ever had! If you visit Calistoga, be sure to stop by here, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I love this spot, great place for a relaxing dinner after a day at the spa or in wine country. The food and service are always delicious. Like they never miss on any dish.

Yelp
We visited this place while staying at the Indian Springs resort, and it was 10/10. The food is delicious, service is great, and the ambiance is very clean and modern. It's a great place to relax, enjoy great food, and relax. The burrata salad is not too heavy, and the olives and bread are amazing. Everything tastes sos fresh. The agua caliente cocktail tastes so good, going to have to try replicating it at home. We ended up returning to try the breakfast menu, which was just as great!

Yelp
I had an excellent meal here. We have eaten here about 3 times before and the meal this time was my favorite. I got the set menu for restaurant week. The salad was fresh and the flavors completed each other (bitter purple lettuce contrasted with the slightly sweet beets, creamy goat cheese, sweet orange and salty walnuts). My favorite was the agnolotti. The sauce was a little sweet (creamy tomato) and a little savory. The fresh made ricotta inside was delicate and paired wonderfully with the delicate fresh made pasta (which was nicely Al dente). The chocolate creme brûlée was rich but not too sweet and contrasted well with the raspberries. My partner got the fried Brussel sprouts for appetizer and they came out very hot and delicious. The bread was also fresh and hot. Our server Emma was friendly and hardworking and kept us up to date because our meals got caught behind a large tables order. She was great.

Yelp
I think there is something really special about the Chefs in Calistoga. The food in this town just didn't disappoint! Sam's was another hit during our holiday stay. We came for breakfast and enjoyed so many different items. We wanted to try it all! We had an omelette, egg in the hole, banana bread, and the pork belly. I highly suggest the egg in the hole! The bread is soft and flavorful. The potatoes were super yummy too! The service can be a little slow but we weren't in a hurry, so no complaints.

Yelp
Met up for brunch out here. Unfortunately our timing was a little off and we missed brunch and it was just lunch. Our server did us a solid and got us the banana bread it was a little scorched on the top but still delicious. One of a kind. I started with the pork belly. I don't know what I expected but it was kind of like burnt ends. Yummy glaze. Very tasty but small portion and some inconsistent texture. I got the burger with the bacon and egg. Very expensive combo but I don't have regrets. Here's the problem. Maybe I don't know how to eat a burger but I'm a cut in half or even quarters kind of guy. So I waited for a knife and waited... and waited. Then my knife came. Unfortunately by the time it arrived my bottom bun was inedibly soggy. Good news it's a magnificent burger. You can tell the meat was ground fresh from good cuts. Very tender, good flavor. Possibly one of the best I've had. So I was a little annoyed about the knife thing. Coulda been. Coulda coulda.

Yelp
Egg In The Hole -- truffle deliciousness! The cheese on the bread complements the flavors of the truffle, potatoes and yolk. The bread was fluffy, the potatoes were salted nicely. Butterscotch Pot De Creme -- tasted like cheesecake / creme fraiche. It was delicious and smooth. Delicious food! Very cozy atmosphere, was seated outside and they turned on the heaters for us.

Yelp
My wife and I dined at Sam's on our Anniversary trip to Calistoga. It's located at Indian Springs Resort which we had stayed at before, but weren't staying there on this trip. We come to Calistoga a few times a year, and we hadn't tried this place. I had been wanting to try it out primarily to try their Prime Rib. We had good service which is always a huge plus. I'm not an overly difficult critic, but the food just fell flat for me here especially The Prime Rib. Appetizers we ordered were decent. We had the Prawn Cocktail and Artichoke. My wife enjoyed her Salmon. The Prime Rib just wasn't very good, and it was priced at around $60. On the menu online it says Market Price. It lacked flavor and I wasn't impressed by the sides. If I had gotten that Prime Rib at a chain Steakhouse, I might have a slightly different take. But for a higher end restaurant in Calistoga it just didn't get the job done. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat indoors, but the outdoor set-up looked really nice. We enjoyed our drinks. Decent beer selection. My wife like her Espresso Martini. My wife has Celiac Disease and our waiter was very knowledgeable about what was safe for her to eat, so props for that. I'd probably give this place another shot, but I'd order something different.

Yelp
Surprisingly really enjoyed the food here! The staff were friendly and welcoming, we were celebrating our anniversary and they offered us free champagne. The food came pretty fast and was surprisingly really delicious- I really enjoyed the octopus and the fries. My only complaint is that the steak portion was very very small- it was also a little burnt. The environment itself is very cute- love the lights and the outdoor seating ideas!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for Mother's Day brunch and the food was friggin phenomenal! The service and the restaurant itself were also spectacular. If I was in the area again I would definitely stop by. It's definitely pricey but I feel like for the location as well as the type of restaurant it is makes sense. I would recommend coming here though overall!

Yelp
Spent a weekend in Calistoga. Did an open door booking for Sam's social and when I checked in my hotel down the street they also recommend eating here. I ended up having a delicious Caesar salad which my kids really enjoyed. I also ordered the appetizer bread which the kids also enjoyed. I didn't realize my dish already had side but ended up ordering mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. I was lucky to get the prime rib for the weekend. I really enjoyed it. My waiter was very friendly and attentive. It did pick up and a lot of families and families with kids also ate here. We had a wonderful time and also enjoyed the selection of desserts that they had provided.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for dinner with a group of friends. We sat outside in their patio which was nice and relaxing. The food and service were excellent along with their prices. This place is very popular and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
This place was delicious! Super cute inside and even more adorable outside. Our server Dylan was awesome! The banana bread was so delicious! The sugar crust and vanilla bean mascarpone, over the top!! The egg in a hole was great! Parmesan crusted brioche with the mushroom truffle base paired with the lemon arugla salad, genius!!! Best two things I ate while in Calistoga. The sourdough waffle was okay
google avatar

Haiyang H.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on. Saturday night. Beautiful setting. I had an outdoor reservation but it was boiling outside. They were able to find me a table inside sparing my life. I ordered their special crab cake, their weekend secret prime rib and finished with a chocolate cake. Crab cake was beautiful. Filled with crabs and crispy on the outside. Flavor was on point. The arugula salad compliments the crab cake and cut the grease. The Pinot was great and I got a bottle right after. The prime rib was sooo good. Totally worth the wait and the $$$$. Asparagus was nicely grilled and the side potatoes are buttery and delicious. The chocolate cake was okay. But the coffee gelato was so nice!! The service was solid throughout. I could barely breathe after the meal but was happy. Would come back for

Yelp
Brunch reservation on a Sunday. It was great weather on the patio with a heat lamp. Ordered the 2 egg breakfast plate and offers alottt of egg. My bf got egg in the hole and it is rich in cheese and buttery bread. It was very delicious and i enjoyed the sauces. Service was great too! Would recommend.
google avatar

Marthe R.

Yelp
Everything was great! Unique and comforting with good service. The ambiance of the bar had a better vibe than the dining room but I did go there for lunch so it could be different in the pm.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
The best eggs Benedict I have ever had in my life! We sat outside and enjoyed the weather! Service was top notch! I highly recommend, we will be back!!!
google avatar

Charity T.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stuffed poblano pepper dish (vegan) well enough. The friends I was with only thought their meals were just okay though. The service was a bit slow. We were there closer to closing. When we first arrived, they were pretty busy. We sat out in the patio area with the heaters on and I found it comfortable. All in all, I would go back if I was tagging along with others, otherwise I would try a new place.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
Super cool ambiance in the charming City of Calistoga. Located in the grounds of Indian Springs-pure delight all around. Bar and bar mixology masters are spot on with their skills and drinks. Dining room is light filled and offers a variety of seating arrangements. We enjoyed the pear salad-light layered flavors and abundant to share. I had the chicken which was juicy and flavorful with each delectable bite. The prime rib special was huge and my husband was thrilled with each fork full. The service was fantastic and we will come again very soon!!!

Robert K.

Yelp
We were on the hunt for an amazing cheese plate, internet reviews had us checking out the depot. When we got there they were not serving their cheese plate that day and it took over 15 minutes for the bartender to make our cocktails, even though we were basically the only people there. We decided to come to Sam's Social Club and the cocktails, service, and cheese plate were exceptional and we Will for sure be back! Brie was amazing!
google avatar

Bree G.

Yelp
The day after Thanksgiving, we found this gem on our road trip back home. It is nestled on a retreat-like property that was very full of families. We were seated right away in the bar area and it was cozy and comfortable (loved the high back chairs). While they had a full restaurant, service was attentive and kind. I was super satisfied with my meal and could not finish all of it - the portions were very generous! They do offer gluten-free toast for those who care and there butter was, dun dun dun.. COLD! But butter is butter and I made it work. Definitely would recommend if you are visiting the area and wanting a filling and tasty breakfast.
google avatar

Jackie K.

Yelp
We had a good, solid lunch at Sam's Social Club. I saw raving Yelp reviews for this place, but I though it was very good but not crazy amazing like the reviews said--perhaps I set my expectations too high. But please don't get me wrong, as our lunch was perfectly great. My chicken Caesar salad was very good--wedges of lettuce covered in dressing, with grilled chicken on the side. My friend said the burger was good, and I nabbed one of another friend's tater tots, which was great. Overall, the food was good, American bistro fare.
google avatar

Jillian P.

Yelp
Amazing food, fun ambiance. We had about 30 minutes to squeeze in breakfast before heading to our first wine tasting appointment of the day, and the staff were able to accommodate our tight time frame! We ordered a mini-feast for two and proceeded to inhale all the wonderful flavors and textures! We ordered everything to share- candy cap breakfast churros, the Scramble with breakfast potatoes and an English muffin, plus a side of bacon and chicken apple sausage. The candy cap churros were the surprise standout! They were light and crisp and melted into sweet, cinnamon bliss after the initial crunch of biting into them. Definitely worth a try! Overall, we had a great experience. Would return to enjoy a more leisurely brunch.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Sam's Social Club was a great spot for brunch! We went on a Saturday and enjoyed a group gathering. The restaurant initially gave us a difficult time and told us they were not able to accommodate a larger group, but our server ended up getting the opportunity to combine some tables to make it work. We started our meal with roasted eggplant and pepper dip, which was quite enjoyable. It was served with some flatbread that was nice and fluffy. I ordered the schnitzel, which was done quite well, but slightly underseasoned. It was served with a salad which was refreshing. Their kids meal was a solid combination as well. The chicken tenders themselves were mediocre. However, it came with tater tots, a few carrots, and fruit (grapes). Some of my friends got the mortadella sandwich, which looked really solid. The portion size was huge too! I might have to try that at my next visit. Overall, I would come back to try some of the other food options here. There's ample parking outside, and some areas to walk around to explore the space.

Bear M.

Yelp
My junior high classmate and her family visited my home town SF during the second week of June. After our wine tastings Napa, we headed to our hotel. Our hotel doesn't have food service, so concierge lady recommended Sam's Social Club for dinner. It's 10 minutes walk to the restaurant. We ordered Caesar salad, American burger with fries as side, grilled calamari with potatoes and pasta ( rigatoni) with prawns in pesto sauce + Parmesan cheese. We loved the portions and tastes of all foods presented. We also loved sitting outside surrounded by heater and a nearby campfire. Five stars is a combination of food quality for its price point and warm, genuine service/ hospitality.

Yelp
Such a great place. Love the music and all the choices. Patio is amazing and the place overall is just spectacular.

Yelp
Stopped by for Sunday brunch. They had a great selection of some unique items. I had Egg in a Hole. We have done this at home before, but you rarely ever find it on a menu. They had their own unique twist to it, with thick egg bread. Great. Service was spot on. Very attentive and professional. It is getting hard to find these days, but we were able to get in and out on time as we had a place to be after. We sat outside and they have a nice outdoor area, that can be shaded when needed. It sits up against a hillside that has been nicely landscaped. It must be amazing in the evening. I will say, the place was hard to find. Google maps failed me, and the signage was minimal. But it is on the Indian Springs resort property, inside the entrance, to the left.

Ian N.

Yelp
If you have any allergies, dont go here. My fiance has a tree nut allergy and we made sure to check before ordering, and after getting her food that it didnt have tree nuts in it. Turns out the sauce in her food had cashews, which caused her to have an allergic reaction. This mean multiple people along the way failed to do their job. We had to leave our family event early and rush home where we administered an epipen. Luckily she is fine, but its a disgrace that something like that could happen at a place like this. Words dont describe how upset this whole thing made us. Do not recommend.
google avatar

Vanessa D.

Yelp
Had such a fun dinner at Sam's - definitely generous portions, split everything and left feeling happily full! Lovely wait staff, beautiful surroundings & great people watching! The churros are to die for!!
google avatar

Scott R.

Yelp
I went into this place with 0 expectations. The name threw me off. Didn't know what to expect. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The outdoor seating was awesome with great energy. Our waiter, good not great, but did the job. The food is the real star of the show. I had the Piri Piri chicken and it was out of this world. One of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. And the portion was off the hook food. An incredible value!

Ashley H.

Yelp
I hope they never change their Churro recipe. These churros are incredible. They're big, thick and perfectly fried. The whip cream and candy cap caramel is on the side so the churros stay crispy. They even packaged to go in an open container. Had the PIRI PIRI CHICKEN. Excellent Haricot Vert Almondine. I was expecting a more creamy thick almondine this was a nice light sauté with a nice salty almond flavor.

Chuck F.

Yelp
Absolutely overrated trash. Got sick after eating here after both visits. I will never go back here again. Also, heard the staff talking about the owner, saying she was a Trumper, no thanks I'll spend my money elsewhere. There's sooo many better places to eat in Calistoga than this. This place has a high end price tag with the specialty of a tourist dump chain restaurant. I would not recommend.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Friends and I dined here for lunch before our spa sessions and overall had a great time. They were renovating the outdoor patio but the inside was spacious and clean. Our server was attentive and was able to accommodate my friend's request for a caprese salad that wasn't on the menu. -Cheeseburger and fries with avocado -Cheeseburger and sub fries with Caesar salad -Custom made caprese salad -Fish tacos Prices were a bit steep but expected in Calistoga and justified because the food was delicious- my cheeseburger burger was to die for, even when it was done medium well: buttery bun, juicy, flavorful beef patty, and fresh veggies and salad! Only dock was for the strand of hair that my friend initially found in her caprese salad, but our server dealt with it swiftly and brought a fresh new plate back.
google avatar

Corinne H.

Yelp
Great food and fast service. The ambiance was really nice too. We got the egg hole. Fruit was great too.
google avatar

Yelp
We spent a couple of days in Calistoga to celebrate our anniversary and chose Sam's for our special celebratory dinner. We were not disappointed! The service was amazing and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Complementary glasses of champagne were a nice touch, seldom seen nowadays, and very much appreciated. We enjoyed the evening special, a beef ragu pasta, as well as the panzanella salad. Both were delicious, but the star of the night were the candy cap churros! Recommended by the manager, who was kind enough to come check in with us, the churros were clearly freshly made. Crispy on the outside and light on the inside, they were delicious by themselves, but when dipped in the dulce de leche drizzled whipped cream.... Wow! Thank you, Sam's, for the wonderful anniversary dinner!

Yelp
Recently stopped in for a lovely brunch on a recent trip to Napa Valley. Not only was the service superb but the best cappuccino I've ever had! Cant wait to cone back to this historic gem.

Yelp
Just a quick update to say this is still hands down the best espresso martini I've had anywhere and we love stopping in just to sit at the bar and enjoy. They also have some of the best French fries in the Napa Valley. Stop in, order and espresso martini and a side of French fries - you won't regret it.

Yelp
09212023 = Brunch I wanted to check out a new restaurant for our annual wine brunch date with my girls. This spot checked that list off due to their decent reviews on here as well as from OpenTable. Also, since it was the weekend, reservations are mandatory, especially in Napa/Sonoma area. Coming from the East Bay and SF - the drive was a bit farther than our normal brunch spot in Yountville. It was so far that all the girls wondered why we were going there! Trust me, I got so much crap for it but THANKFULLY, the food, service, and quality were well worth it. We opted to sit inside since of course, it happened to be a cold cloudy morning. We got seated by the fireplace which was quite nice. The girls and I started off with cocktails which I forgot what we got but they were delicious and strong. Definitely a good start for our outing. I opted to get their eggs benedict - it was okay, it wasn't the best eggs benedict I've had thus I think the reason why I only finished one of it. I also shared the candy cap churros - which was delicious to share. Overall, it was good to check out but a bit of a further drive than Farmstead or Bouchon. The staff were super friendly. The quality of food and pricing was decent for "Napa". I highly recommend making a reservation, just in case.

Yelp
Sam's is a pretty cool place! We decided to come here last minute for a nice dinner in Calistoga and overall enjoyed our experience. Staff were very friendly, outdoor seating was comfortable, and food was delicious. We opted for two prime rib dinners (massive portions fyi) and were pretty satisfied. My only complaint would be that they were running slow when we stopped by one Saturday evening. I'd still come back though because the dinner was delicious!

Yelp
TLDR; Not great quality for insane prices. The server Alex was wonderful 5-stars for him only. Although we walked in fairly close to closing time, we were still able to be seated. However, it did take a while just to put in an order. After 15-20 minutes and prolonged eye contact, Alex took our order. Honestly, if it weren't for his wonderful service, it would be a 1-star review. We ordered 2 sides, 2 cocktails, one soup, and one entree (and 2 cocktails to go offered by Alex, which was very kind). The only redeeming items were the cocktails and fries from the entree. The mac and cheese had soggy noodles and a watery cheese "sauce". The cauliflower soup of the day (acknowledging that we came late) was understandably almost coagulated and oily. The burger was unseasoned and quickly fell apart, with the bun quickly becoming soggy. Overall, Alex was amazing, the food was subpar, and I would not come again.

Yelp
I really love this place. The salad is amazing, specifically the green goddess salad. And more specifically the dressing. The venue is swanky but informal. Perfect date place or just great friends' place. Priced understandably, great parking, awesome staff and venue!

Yelp
Dear Jess my server/bartender The morning of May 3rd was one of those quiet, golden hours when kindness feels like sunlight--warm, unexpected, and lingering long after the moment has passed. And you, with your effortless grace and genuine warmth, turned a simple morning into something truly special. Thank you for the laughter, the perfect drink (made with care, as though it were a small gift), and the hospitality that felt like a gentle embrace. There's an art to making people feel seen and welcome, and you've mastered it beautifully. The world is brighter because of people like you--those who pour kindness as generously as they pour a drink, leaving hearts a little fuller than they were before. I'm so grateful to have started my day in your corner of the world. Wishing you endless good vibes, stellar tips, and mornings just as lovely as the one you gave me. With sincere appreciation, Howard Calistoga California P.S. If gratitude were a cocktail, you'd have made it perfect. Cheers to you!
