Samut

Samut was a highlight of our holiday in Thailand. It was difficult to pick a dish that stood out, they were all incredible. The balance in flavours and creative presentation were really impressive. You can really see the passion from Chef Bank and all the staff.

Just a little outside Phuket’s busier areas, dining here feels quietly connected to the sea. The restaurant centres its menu around seafood, celebrating the waters surrounding the island and the communities that depend on them. Each course reveals a different interpretation of the ocean’s bounty, prepared with thoughtful technique and a clear respect for the ingredients. The atmosphere is calm and intimate, allowing the experience to unfold slowly as each dish arrives. There is a sense of storytelling behind the meal, where flavours, textures and presentation reflect the culture and environment of coastal Thailand. It is less about extravagance and more about intention. A thoughtful, deeply personal approach to seafood that leaves a lasting impression.

I would rate this as one of my worst fine dining tasting menu Experience so far. When the food tastes horrible with zero harmony of flavors everything comes down. The service and plating was ok though.

This restaurant is an extraordinary culinary gem, offering an intimate dining experience with only a few seats. The setting is beautifully decorated, creating an atmosphere of elegance and warmth. Combined with impeccable service, this is the ultimate destination for discovering the finest local flavors.

Wonderful food with lots of seafood ingredients showcasing strong southern Thai and bold flavours (some food were quite spicy haha). Service was attentive and good, they cared to introduce the food design and engaged in further conversations. Spacious and relaxing atmosphere. We had the tasting menu with 16 dishes, we left with a full stomach. It was a good value for money experience.

Samut was probably the most incredible dining experience I’ve had. We were expecting regular fine dining, but this was above and beyond your usual fine dining dinner. This was an experience. We went for the samut experience and each dish arrived individually and had its own unique flavour. The staff were very attentive, and took their time to explain each dish and tell you how to eat them and advise on the best order to eat them for the perfect flavour combinations which was amazing! The combinations and flavours were some of the most fresh and most unique I’ve seen and truly, each dish was a small explosion of flavours. My partner and I especially enjoyed the fish ham and mango dish. The final dessert was absolutely beautiful. 4 small desserts on a plate ending with a white chocolate and shrimp dessert. Who would have thought? We loved the personal touch of the chef coming out at the end of the night and talking to us about the dishes! Absolutely worth the money in my opinion and if I could give them an 11/10 I would! Cannot wait to visit again!

Had a wonderful experience here. Really interesting use of Thai flavours incorporating it into fine dining. Had the 16 course experience. All ingredients locally sourced. Some dishes were a miss with me scratching my head wondering if the flavours matched. Service was impeccable by the 2 staff and sous chef who explained each dish.
