Can you tell the difference? Yeah me either, I paid for extra meat ($4) on two sandwiches and one regular and literally the same thing. Btw the use the wrong type of meat for this “ banh mi”. Honey glazed pork from Safeway is disrespectful 🤧

My friends wanted dessert and coffee after lunch so they suggested this place. Donuts are best when fresh made. We were here at 2 pm. It must have been fine earlier. We were able to hang out. Service is nice.

They have croissant donuts!!! They were very delicious! The service was excellent. They have a couple of seats inside and out. They also have lottery tickets and beverages.

The traditional bánh mì is surprisingly good. Very happy with it. I wouldn't expect it to be so delicious and authentic from what I thought is a donut store. The brown sugar milk tea should have more brown sugar syrup but overall, I'll order from this place again.

Stopped by for coffee, donuts, breakfast bagel, and burritos. All were delicious. This friendly neighborhood shop had a steady string of patrons.

The owners are very sweet, and their new donuts are going to be a guilty pleasure. Boba teas are great too! Doesn't taste like just sugar water and actually tastes like tea.

I went there on Saturday morning. Not crowded. There is a huge parking lot in front of Chucks donut shop. Great customer service. They do have tables and chairs outside. Definitely it's a good place for a quick sugary breakfast after a tough workout .

This is the best traditional Vietnamese sandwich and donut shop that I love in San Carlos ! Most time I just DoorDash and it never let me down ! It just makes my life happier when I eat the food there. Eat and enjoy !

Donut place is the same as every other place. Pricing is the same based on my comparison of similar places nearby. Best donut was the mochi as the sweetness was "not too sweet," by Asian standards and nice chew. Didn't see the mochi available when I stopped by and got a random assortment. Service was prompt and polite. Location is super convenient.

Good local donut and bfast sandwiches shops. They had decent coffee selection. Great that its near sutter healthcare as well. Service was nice and Quick, food was good. And had 3 tables to sit and eat. Also no card charge under $10. Got the veggie delight croissNf bfast sandwich and glazed donut

This is a cool local donut and sandwich shop with quick and friendly service. I got an apple fritter, which was good but a little too soaked in oil....I also got the traditional banh mi which for some reason had regular American ham sandwich meat which was so disappointing....maybe I came on a bad day. But I wish my visit was consistent with all the great reviews of this place! Not sure if I'll be back....

Open Early, great Donuts and breakfast and lunch options an great service. I've ordered from here many times but took my first trip to come an enjoy a nice cup of coffee on an early morning. So peaceful and great customer service. Cute shop that has such a comfortable atmosphere and cute decor.

These folks are too sweet! Literally! They have such an extensive menu. The Banh Mi sammies are so good! I love the Mushroom Lovers Banh Mi. Their breakfast sammies are really good, my fav is the Belmont on a croissant. The doughnuts are really good, as well. Fluffy, chewy, light, fried, fruity, glazed, caked, cream filled...you name it, they've got it! Stop by if you're in the neighborhood. They have treats for everyone!

Hands down the best apple (or occasionally blueberry) fritter ever. Nowhere else comes close. I wish it wasn't on the way to my kid's gym bc it's too easy to dive in and grab one. They are generously sized and perfectly swirled with apple filling , not just apple "flavored " like some places. Simple storefront, easy parking in the lot and (perhaps too) convenient location on old county. Love it (but hate that I love it?)!

This place has been here forever and I can see why. The service is friendly and prompt and the donuts are solid! I can see that they get a lot of regular customers. Lots of different varieties and flavors to choose from especially in the mornings. The prices are also decent. I can see why this place is popular and has been a mainstay in San Carlos!

Nothing but great things!! Parking always available it's best in my opinion to come early in the morning for obvious reasons. Chucks has a variety of doughnuts including breakfast sandwiches, croissant, and burritos. Staff aren't morning people then again who really is. Nevertheless I don't come here for the staff it's the doughnuts that keep me hooked!

Yum! I've been hunting for blueberry old fashioned and any version of cronuts I could find. Surprisingly, blueberry old fashioned is far harder to find and I've finally found it here! Everything is made fresh in house daily and there are a ton of flavors to choose from. Nice, fluffy plain glazed, to Psycho Donuts type flavors with cereal on top. Their cronut far exceeded my expectations. I haven't had anything close to the original in New York and that's ok. I just want it to be good damn it! And most Cronuts are not. Theirs is perfectly flaky on the outside like the original! The staff is super nice here too. It's a small family owned shop which I love to support.

Everything was Great! the jelly donuts are my favorite and the coffee. The help is also good always very easy to talk to. The location is right off holly easy stop off freeway

Such a cute little old town vibe in here. I kinda like it! Whoops I meant to check in this location but I yelpled and checked into the Redwood City one. Either way , the donuts wassss mmmmhhhhhmmmmm yummyy! To me it was so good I had like 4. The display is picture perfect. Very friendly staff and fast pick up. First time here to pick up a surprise bag and oh yeahh I will definitely be back. By the time I looked all around, my order was done. I was in for less than 5 minutes and out before I know it

fairly rude. The man in the back leaves your food to get cold and would never advises the Lady that the food is done. The bagels made so unprofessionally like how hard is that. I would never come back here, especially for the stale donuts. They are re-cooked from yesterday.

Quality was there and I like that they have a private lot in front. Inside was pretty clean and organized.Donut case was filled with all different kinds. You can sit indoors if you want to. The donuts were fairly fresh and fluffy. We got variety including chocolate glazed and maple bar. Most of them were good The place is in a small strip mall. Also service was very friendly and nice!

Super good donuts! The food there is really yummy. The fruity pebbles with strawberry frostings is also really good. I usually order to go, and the servers there are really nice. When you doordash it also comes in good condition. The interior is pretty clean though. Would recommend.

Around noon time I dropped by here to get Bahn Mhi sandwiches. One Tofu and Two BBQ Pork plus one Vietnamese Ice coffee. Today the sandwiches did not have flavor. It is as if nothing was seasoned. Get a french roll, put mayo on it, add slices of shredded carrots and daikon strips. Slice some cooked pork and put it in. A slice of cucumber. Perhaps a wee bit of jalapeno and there you have it. The pork had no taste, it was cold and dry like refrigerated pork. The carrots and daikon were not pickled in sweet/tart vinegar at all. In no way is there a $12.00 value in this item. And I bought two of them. The tofu sandwich had the same result. Not a $9.00 value at all. Cannot just put slices of meat with unseasoned carrots,Daikon and expect satisfied customer base. They will not return for that.

Came here for some quick food and place to sit. The taste of Homestyle Tofu Bahn Mi was a very pleasant surprise.

I've had both the donuts and banh mis here and this is my go to place when I want something decent and close to my house. They have a much broader array of donuts here than the Chuck's in Belmont with offerings like cronuts, mochi donuts, and ube and matcha flavored donuts. I'm not going to say these are the best donuts I've ever had but I will say they make a solid donut that I would definitely buy again. What really brings me here on a regular basis is their banh mis. They make a decent enough banh mi to where I don't feel the need to drive into San Mateo or San Jose to get my banh mi fix. On top of that you can pair it with a boba tea drink. They also have a variety of sandwiches besides banh mis and offer coffee and smoothie drinks as well. I can't recommend this place enough.

stopping by for some donuts late in the afternoon...finding most people ordering milk tea drinks, smoothies and banh mi sandwiches of all things...with one single employee, the wait can be long...finally getting to the counter and seeing that dozen regular donuts $22...1/2 dozen $11.50...donut holes $4 dozen...for the children and taking 2 dozen donut holes for $8...powder and cinnamon/sugar were the two options and taking all...placed in an unlined standard paper brown bag....not great since the grease soaks right through a paper bag...but, the donut holes were super soft and good...kids and adults enjoyed...

Out here visiting the San Fran Bay area from PA. Looked around on google maps to try and find a GOOD donut shop. I'm glad we tried this place out! Great selection of donuts and cronuts and mochi rings! Service was friendly and donuts were DELICIOUS!

Who would have thought that this random donut shop in a strip mall in San Carlos would have such delicious Bahn Mi's?! The people who work there are also soooo nice! The traditional Bahn mi has everything you'd want...pate, pork, jalapeños, cucumber, carrot, and cilantro. Fresh and savory and the toasted bread is perfectly crunchy! The spicy pork is also really delicious. The sauce is amazing and it's got a nice kick. Will definitely be back for more!

Had the bbq pork banh mi. Pretty tasty wished it had more cucumbers and meat.. Of course I had to get some donuts holes while I was there too. I think the sandwich was about 10 inches long. They have a deal to pay $4 more to add a boba drink but I rather have some donuts as my extra calories.

This is a solid donut shop. First of all, it is Chuck's so the quality of donuts is good. Second, there is decent off street parking since it is part of a small strip mall. Finally, the interior is clean with a fair amount of space. There is also seating outdoors. We ordered a "Too Good To Go" bag and received a rather large portion of donuts (basically almost two square boxes worth) including an apple fritter (my personal favorite).

Great place , I never thought of this place having food . I actually had breakfast here and it was really good. They have great donuts and even better food. The prices are really reasonable too. I mean eh you're getting the famous chucks donuts here cmon

Small parking area in a small shopping area and on the way to/from 101 Frwy off Holly street. Very clean and variety donuts to choose from in their pastry case. Friendly service. We got a half dozen chocolate glaze, blueberry, crumb, and also cruller. We thought the crueler was actually dry in the batch we picked from but otherwise all donuts were delicious.

Decided to try this donut shop because of the reviews but the lady with the EarPod was so rude I wouldn't come back.

Randomly found out that this place has banh mi? Yes please! We love Banh Mi but our spot is in SF and it's impossible to park so it take two people to want to go from San Mateo and honestly it can be a hassle - so I saw this place within a few miles from home and decided immediately that I needed to try it. Today. Ordered the fancy pork (bbq pork egg pate) and the combo (ham pork pate) we were so pleasantly surprised with the flavor and the quality of the bread crunchy flavorful a good amount of all item n the sandwich - it was only lacking in jalapeños - fortunately I always have them at home so we sliced some up and added them to the sandwich - the bbq pork and which was room temp by the time I got it home (I think they made the eggs fresh) and the combo was cold becasue the ingredients are cold - no problem - wait a little to eat (no!) or pop it in the microwave for like 6 seconds so bread is still crunchy yum yum yum will come here again - more convenient than sf for us in San Mateo! And honestly, the quality of meat at this location is better than our usual spot! Oh! And grabbed a couple donuts too - not bad - especially the maple bar yum yum but Banh Mi preferred any day!

Had the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi. It was good, but maybe it would have been better if i eat it fresh. (I walked about 1.25 miles before eating it.). Overall, the taste was very good, but a tad on the salty side. Bread was soggy by the time I got around to eat it. But considering how much food you get for the price, I'd definitely try it again. While i was in the store, the pastries looked good; will definitely try it out next time.

Came here super early. Plenty of parking. Was worried they wouldn't have banh mi so early but they did. Got donuts, too. Donuts were fresh and soft. I actually didn't think I would be able to rate a donut. All donuts are good, right? No. Theirs were actually really good. No oily after taste. The banh mi was ok for this area. Not as authentic as the ones in San Jose. A bit on the high side (I think $12). I'd still come here though. Super close, opens early, food tastes good and lots of parking. Awesome!

Their donuts will always brighten my day. The service and ambiance of their location is great, I'm coming back for more.

Excellent breakfast sandwiches, donuts, and Vietnamese iced coffee! I also once had my coffee stolen by a DoorDasher and one of the VERY sweet employees (Laura) gave me free donuts with my replacement order! This place is lovely.

No pretention basic donut and more shop, with light, fluffy donuts that for some reason I can't get except on the West Coast. I had a Halloween special and a jelly, and they more than matched my expectations. They didn't skimp on the icing either. Pricing was a little high but I think comparable for the area. I'd definitely return.

Donuts were as expected for a donut place. Solid cheeseburger with fries. Portions seem worth the price, which was $13.16 for the burger and fries (no drink), about average. Never really too busy.

I am a strong supporter of mom and pop shops so I will always want to see a place like this win. I love love love that they sell boba drinks and banh mi sandwiches. In the Belmont area there aren't many little shops like this. Customer service was good, the main worker was attentive and friendly, just the 2nd lady at the cash register I think doesn't speak English well or doesn't really feel comfortable being in a service position - so that was a bit awkward because she lacked the communication skills. Please be patient with her. The place is clean and cute and everything looked fresh. They also make the sandwiches and burgers fresh to order. I ordered the big boy burger for my bf and it was pretty big. For $10 it met the expectations. He said he would get it again. I Also ordered the "San Carlos club" which they forgot to add the cheese (and I should have gotten white bread instead of sourdough) but overall it was fresh and a good size for the price. I would get it again.

I don't get why this donut shop is so low rated? My guess would be people are expecting some fancy donut shop but obviously this is a small/ family owned shop that has been around for quite some time! The cool part about Chuck's is that it is pretty much 24/7 except for the weekend. This place definitely hits the spot for your donut cravings! My bf and I loved all the donuts we ordered - glazed old fashion, chocolate old fashion, red velvet, blueberry glazed, blueberry, and chocolate covered with sprinkles! Such amazing texture in their donuts and they stay fresh even the day after your purchase. The prices for the donuts are reasonable and the gentleman that helped serve us was very sweet. I would definitely come back here! Parking is limited (only 6 or so spots). So if you're planning to come in the mornings, it may be packed with people getting their morning breakfast.

I stopped here to grab a dozen donuts for the office, which is in nearby Redwood shores. Helpful service, quick and delicious. I mean they aren't reinventing the wheel but totally solid Fritters, Kruellers, Bear Claws, Old Fashioned, Buttermilk, and glazed in all the ways. Solid, inexpensive and ready to go. Just like donuts outta be.

Not bad donuts, came here on our recent visit to San Carlos as the other Chucks Donuts in Belmont was hard to access due to construction on Ralston. Seemed like the donut selection wasn't as much like the one in Belmont when I visited on a Monday late morning. They also have other food items like drinks and sandwiches which we did not try. Not sure if this location and the one in Belmont are related; the one in Belmont is my top choice in the area when the donut mood strikes.

So heartbroken Chuck's is closing down! I'm so grateful I got the chance of grabbing myself a few donuts before they permanently shut down. I was able to chat with the owner on their last day. It's just so unfortunate that the high cost of rent keeps increasing. I got half a dozen of their donut holes and they were absolutely amazing! It was lightly coated with sugar, but the donut holes were still very warm and soft. The family here are so hardworking, friendly, and just have the biggest hearts. It's ironic that they own a donut shop, but they truly do care about their customers' well-being and health. Thank you for bringing great service to the city of San Carlos for the past decades and being a huge part of my childhood growing up here! You guys will truly be missed dearly.

Donuts are mediocre, can't complain about the quality. What I am upset about is the pricing. The donuts say one price, but you'll be charged another. Got a half dozen of glazed donuts should be $9.50, was charged $11.50, not sure what for but it's false advertisement on their behalf.

Great donuts for to go. Prices are reasonable and even at the end of the day, the donuts were still fresh. The place is nice and bright with some outside sitting which is nice and the lady at the counter was pretty friendly and efficient. Would recommend place for the occasional donut cravings you have.
