"In the Spinelli family since 1982, San Daniele enjoys a stellar reputation. Their unassuming restaurant in the shade of Koekelberg Basilica is the quintessence of Italian charm. Heart-warming dishes such as tagliolini with mushrooms, lamb and Taggiascha olives with a foie gras and lamb jus take pride of place. Chef Franco exalts traditional recipes by his skill and delicacy. The seabass in a salt crust filleted in front of you is guaranteed to lift your spirits. Stefano is near at hand with a wealth of insightful wine pairings." - Michelin Inspector

Absolutely marvellous food. Dessert was the best I have ever tried (caramelised ananas), and I had 1 and 2 stars Michelin experience. Didn’t expect to find out such a high level service behind rather simple facade.

This was good but could be better .. the service is good. The food is really good. But there is some waiting time between the plates if one chooses the menu de degustacion. Especially towards the end. The wine pairing ends with the main course- no thoughts of adding a dessert wine to the last two desserts . No coffee /avec menu presented at the end of the dinner. But I will be back - the food is marvellous

San Daniele is much more than a restaurant. It is a place that makes you want to take a 2 hour train and then 2 metros just to enjoy an impeccable 6 course meal with graceful wine pairings. The 6 course degustation is a very well themed trip along Tuscany, with a lot of truffle and goose liver if you are lucky. The menu changes frequently, so just book a table, let them know your restrictions and have a pleasant meal you won’t forget. The service is top notch, the food keeps impressing you at the point you feel dumb saying “this was the best I ever tasted” after every course. What else do you need at this level?

Second time in this establishment. Cosy, private interior. The lunch formula (menu du marché) is amazing! 4 courses for only 50 EUR, with accompanying wines for only 15 EUR. Everything we ate was delicious. The service is impeccable. The waiters have everything under control and the team work is impressive. 16 EUR for a glass of prosecco is exaggerated for me though. That would be my only remark. Recommended!

Its name of Belgium’s best Italian restaurant is deserved. Very special place. Star restaurant. Good food. Equally good service. Very lively. Small tip for the restaurant itself to make it perfect. Your staff could be nicer amongst each other. We overhead one senior waiter cursing quite rudely against an other more junior. Your guests sense that. Understandably it’s stressful to deliver this level of quality night after night. But the vibe amongst the team resonates and should be warm.

Excellent lunch - speechless, cannot find fault. A special address for a special occasion.

I was there on my birthday early this month. Before that I had visited this restaurant on business trip in 2019. Absolutely high quality food and amazing staffs. Will definitely return again!

Yelp
2022 09 20. M1.

Yelp
Fantastic. Simply fantastic. Despite its somewhat obscure location, once you step inside this restaurant you are given a wonderful welcome by the staff. Its the perfect combination of fine-dining but with a family-run feeling that means you feel genuinely very welcome and catered for, rather than pretend poshness. San Daniele currently enjoys a Michelin Star, and for good reason. Quite a large menu for such a high quality restaurant, with a great mix of surprise combinations and old favourites with a twist. We tasted fish, pasta and meat and all three were simply delicious. I wish I could have licked my plate each time :) Fantastic (can I use that word again?) wine menu also. Desserts were of a similar quality, with probably the best moelleux chocolat I have ever tasted in Belgium. Which I think is quite a statement. The staff were discreet but went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, including explanations of choices and even some extra helpings of the sweets we particularly liked with the coffees at the end. Highly recommended. Price seems very fair considering the quality and the level some Michelin starred places think they can charge for a set menu. Also with a taxi and the tunnels if you don't live nearby it's surprisingly quick to get there.

Yelp
You would never expect to find a Michelin star restaurant behind the facade of this house. The curtains are closed and it looks like a normal house. Once inside it is a beautiful calm place. Very nice waiters and the food is excellent! The vitello tonato is the best I ever had.
