"A bakery owned by Adam Shapiro that is noted for once supplying Philly-style soft pretzels to the Oscars; its owner’s real-world business is referenced alongside his on-screen presence, linking familiar snack-production to the show’s bakery-related subplot." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Soft pretzels are, strangely, my favorite food. (No joke) I have even baked them at home. But, baking them at home isn't necessary anymore. SDPC makes all varieties of great pretzels. I highly recommend the Philly style pretzel with the soft and delicious center. These are my absolute favorite. FYI, if you frequent any restaurants or pubs in San Diego and have ordered a soft pretzel, you likely have eaten a delicious San Diego Pretzel Company pretzel. Order online or even visit them in person and order extra, because I guarantee you will need them. Now I want one. They are extra especially good when it is cooler here in San Diego. Heat them up in the oven and then take them out warm. Open up some mustard or cheese for dipping. That is pretzel party heaven friends!

Google
Stopped by to pick up pretzels to share with friends at a local brewery. Didn’t realize it was a wholesale outfit. Owner was super nice and sold me a giant pretzel that had just come out of the oven. Freaking amazing! Best pretzel I’ve ever had, which is saying something after 20 years of Oktoberfest. If you’re hosting a party, buy your pretzels here.👍🏻

Yelp
Awesome Customer Service. Immediately called back when I left them a message, provided plenty of useful information and even offered me a tour of their location. I was totally impressed by their craftsmanship and exceptional customer service experience!! 5 Stars

Yelp
Just walk into the factory and you'll be in an office where you can buy the best pretzels I've ever had at a really good price.

Yelp
This is the second time we have ordered from San Diego Pretzel Company, both times for parties. Not only are we completely satisfied with the taste of the pretzels (large and bites) the amazing customer service is something out of the good ol' days!!! (Sometimes I feel like there is no customer service out there these days.) We had a bit of a problem with the delivery (had them shipped) and Gerardo was fantastic not only with communication but also resolving the problem. We'll definitely continue to order! Thank you!!!!

Yelp
My family was on vacation in San Diego mid-July. We stayed in National City, and I had googled things to do in the area. This place came up, so I took my family here for some pretzels! When we got there we were confused because it's quite literally a warehouse with a front office. We expected a bakery or something, but the two gentlemen who were working there told us to come in and they helped us. They were very kind! We ended up taking a bag of pretzels home (you cook them at home) and they were the best pretzels!! Definitely will be coming back here for an order when we are in the area. PS - the main guy in the office (didn't catch his name) gave my daughter the cutest little teddy bear, which made her whole day. She named it "pretzel" and she keeps it in her room. As a mom, I especially appreciate the above & beyond customer service. Thank you!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try these Bavarian pretzels for quite some time now. I think they have a pretzel making class/tour that I wanted to check out as well. I finally got to eat one of these giant pretzels a couple nights ago when my friend bought it at Coin Haus. It came with a couple of dipping sauces- honey mustard and Dijon. The pretzel had a nice soft interior that wasn't too doughy. I wouldn't mind checking out their storefront to see what else they have to offer! You can even buy the pretzels online and frozen, so that you can just heat them up when you're in the mood for carbs lol. I couldn't find any information on the classes or tour, so maybe they aren't offering it anymore. :(

Yelp
I haven't visited the factory, but found this BIG pretzel at my local Smart & Final in the fresh bread aisle. It was GOOD! One of the best soft pretzels I have eaten anywhere. Soft and tasty. I almost had to go back to the store immediately after I finished it to get another one. I definitely plan on going to the factory the next time I am in San Diego, because I want to try the different types of pretzels they make. One downfall is that their website doesn't have a list of retail locations I can find these yummy pretzels, so for now I have to rely on my Smart & Final.

Yelp
Best pretzels in town. Great price too. Easy parking. I definitely recommend. Several pretzels to choose from.

Yelp
This place is located in a residential area among other houses and is a wholesale factory. Luck for San Diego you can walk in and buy them wholesale but they are frozen. I wish that they would sell them fresh and hot. Being from the East Coast I know what a good pretzel is suppose to taste like. I tried cooking them in my little toaster oven and the first few times were not good at all. I followed the directions and cooked them at 400 degrees but I think that my oven got too hot and the crust was way too hard and the pretzel itself did not taste like a pretzel more like a bun. So I tried a few variations and finally had to cook them frozen at 350 degrees for 6 minutes on one side and then 4 minutes on the other side after flipping them. This worked great and brought me back to what an East Coast Pretzel was supposed to taste like. I liked the Philly pretzel way better than the NY style in that since it was thicker after cooking it produced a better and chewier texture for me. I was very disappointed in my first few attempts at reheating the pretzels but glad that I didn't give up on them.

Yelp
Really outstanding pretzels and the first red ale mustard to completely floor me. They do sell to the public but it's a confusing affair the first time.

Yelp
I'm from NY, which has got to be one of the pretzel capitals of the world, but I still like San Diego PRETZEL Company the most. It is DEFINITELY the best drunk food ever! Your pretzels have prevented many a hangover. Thanks and keep the delicious coming.

Yelp
Being originally from Philly, I know a thing or two about soft pretzels. And the fact they need to be like a rounded rectangle shape with a big doughy center in the middle. Now that I'm in LA, I can find places for Cheesesteaks, Tastykakes and Hank's (aka Frank's) Soda while I'm watching the Flyers and Eagles but haven't really found a great authentic Philly soft pretzel. Sorry Wetzel's. You're good but you're closer to those crappy J&J Superpretzels in the Target than the real Philly stuff. So who knew you could find real Philly pretzels.....in San Diego?! Yep, the GM in Philly through and through and while SD Pretzel has the more standard pretzel design, they do now have a Philly style and both are great. As good as they are, they also do an amazingly good chocolate chip cookie that is larger in diameter than a hockey puck. Seems they have a cookie venture on the side. You can mail order them but I'm hoping they'll hit up some events in the LA area or get into some place like Philly's Best, South Street or the Shack and offer them there! Then I don't have to bug people to buy a bag of four near Philly Int'l Airport.

Yelp
I will never forget my first SDPO twisted treat. I was in SD visiting my bro and he suggested we go, said they were the best pretzels he'd ever had. I looked at him, rolled my eyes, and made some off color comment about the fact that he'd gone soft out west as we're from Philly and that's pretty much the penultimate for pretzels. Well, we picked up some twists and hit the beach. Sitting there, watching the ocean, feet in the sand, hangin with my bro, I took my first bit of the twist. Well was I ever shocked! It was like a piece of home had exploded in my mouth. Now not only was I in the awesomest environment ever, I now had a little piece of home with me. It was just the best feeling. While I've never apologized to my brother for being so skeptical, I have to tell you SDPC is second only to those found deep in the secret spots of the heart of South Philly, and I pretty much have to say that out of loyalty. Philly blood runs deep, but if I've gotta pick a runner up it will be SDPC every time!!!

Yelp
The San Diego Pretzel Company has the best pretzels in the world! Yes, in the world! I had my first Sugary Cinnamon Pretzel at the Del Mar Race Track during 4 O'Clock Fridays then my second at Comic Con in 2009 where my Mom and I got hooked on their jumbo Hebrew National Pretzel Dogs. MMM! Whenever I spot a San Diego Pretzel stand I get my grub on...which never disappoints. It's amazing because now I can get my fix by ordering them online! The dough is unlike anything I've ever eaten and they taste great reheated! After receiving the bag of SD pretzels in the mail, I'll throw them in the oven, and they are soft and doughy like they were just made! Enjoy and fall in love again...with PRETZELS!!! Love.

Yelp
Great stuff! Love this family business. Had a pretzel bar for my daughter's baby shower and they flew off the rack!

Yelp
I'm chewing my last bite of an SDPC pretzel right now, hold on a second. Wow, that was easily the best pretzel I've had since I moved out of Philly, the pretzel capital of the world. I actually registered this account just so I could endorse these pretzels. I've searched for delicious pretzels high and lo, and SDPC is the real deal. If you spot an SDPC pretzel location, you owe it to yourself to stop in for a bite.

Yelp
For me as a German here in San Diego, it is a pleasure to write this review. I ordered for a Christmas event some authentic Munich style pretzels from this company. The whole process from order to payment was easy and very comfortable. When I picked up my order it was just in time, fresh baked and well wrapped. Everybody liked these pretzels in the office. The pretzels look and taste like the German pretzels and I'm absolutely happy to give you my compliments. Very good job and not the last time i have ordered there. Thank you.

Jon N.

Yelp
I have been trying to visit this location the last couple of times I've been in San Diego. Finally! Had time to visit today with my two young girls(4 and 6). We were warmly greeted by the manager, and she couldn't have been more nicer to my girls. She even gave a tour of how they make the pretzels, and then gave my girls some dough to help show them how to twist a pretzel. The pretzels come frozen, and are very very good. We will definitely be back again!

Steve Y.

Yelp
Awesome pretzels! They come frozen and are sold out of their warehouse/bakery office.

Yelp
The munich prezels taste just like real German prezels. They come frozen and are reasonalby priced. If you buy bulk is even cheaper. Definitely coming back here

Yelp
because we're in America, i have to give them 5 stars... it's not their fault they can't get secret German ingredients that make those pretzels from southern Germany so damn tasty. yes, it's true, i do love me a pretzel (blame it on my German husband) and since i can't fly back to Speyer (his hometown) every time i want one, i make do with these fabulous doughy knots of joy. sadly, they are not sold fresh up in L.A. yet -- you can only get 'em in S.D. -- but they do sell them online and you can pick them up in stores around S.D. do not be frightened by their frozen-ness -- when properly heated, they taste fresh and delicious -- not like those nasty heat-lampy kind you get at movie theatres.

Yelp
These are the best PRETZELS I have ever had. I live in Santa Monica, CA, and I would drive to San Diego to get the multi-grain pretzel. You can tell the care that they take with their company. It is art and food. You can feel the love, and you can definitely taste the difference. Give them a try for sure! Two thumbs up!
google avatar

Yelp
Best soft pretzels I've ever enjoyed! They are delicately crisp on the outside and plumply soft and chewy on the inside! Flavorful pretzely taste unlike any pretzel I've ever tried! Not too salty, but perfect! The ideal salty treatsnack! Made me feel like I was an old-fashioned NYC youth!
google avatar

Yelp
Now I've tried many pretzels in my life and I would have to say these pretzels rank among the top! If you are lucky enough to come across these, def try them out - you won't be disappointed. YUM YUM!

Yelp
We took a tour of this small but might pretzel factory today..wow..it was fascinating..learned so much about commercial bakeries..business..creating yummy food...and had lots of fun doing so...the kids loved it...the adults loved it..and all ages loved the exceptionally great pretzels.. Just like we used to get in NYC... right here in SD

Yelp
By far the BEST pretzels I have ever eaten! And I was only born in the early '90s! I grew up eating pretzels at all the amusement parks, but none of them compared to San Diego Pretzel Company! I have two equal favorites: NY style & Philly style pretzels! I've never been to Philly, but these are so fluffy and light, perfect with mustard or cheese! NY style is delicious with any dip, cheese, mustard, or even sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar with vanilla cream-cheese frosting! I'll never look at any other pretzel the same after I tried their pretzels! (:

Yelp
When you think of pretzels, do you think about the hard snacks at the grocery store? You know, the ones in the chips aisle with various forms coming in sticks, twisted, small, medium? Well, San Diego Pretzel Company is going to change your mind about everything you thought was a pretzel. I LOVE SD Pretzel Company. Their pretzels are soft, warm and large; it's making me feel all warm and cozy just writing about them. Harris and Bill offer great prices for bulk pretzels. They supply most of the pretzels for local Oktoberfests and offer other products such as the pretzel wrapped hot dog. Not only that, they have a whole wheat pretzel and flavored pretzels. Harris has been in the business for over 16 years starting out as a small kiosk at local malls and now has become the only pretzel company in San Diego. Bill even arranges free tours for kids where they can learn to roll their own pretzels. The kids are so excited, it feels like they are in Disneyland. What a fun thing to do for a kid's party. SD Pretzel Co. is AWESOME!

Yelp
Whoever coined the phrase "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" obviously never got their hands on a PRETZEL from SDPC. Because if they had they would have changed it to "A pretzel a day keeps the doctor at bay!" Scrumptious doesn't begin to describe these pretzels. You have to try one for yourself. Go. I'll wait. Don't come back until you've tried one. And get me one while you're at it.

Yelp
Best in the West. Out here, the only folks that know what a great pretzel is, are those that moved here from the NorthEast. There is no comparing a fresh pretzel from a vendor in Manhattan, or the sweeter softer version from Philly. Picture a thin fresh bagel, and you are at least on the right track. I was very prejudice about pretzel's and felt either it was East Coast or nothing. Then, a friend recommended I try this. I ordered a bag of small, large and a few Phillys'. I have to admit, I am very impressed. First is ingredients. Less than 2% of food producers that ship, use all fresh ingredients. This is one! Flour, filtered water, brown sugar, butter, yeast, sea salt. Look! No additives or preservatives. Sure, they are only good for a week, but much better for your body. every year I order special foods from all over the country, and this is now officially on my list. Try them, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
As the daughter of a baker, when you find a quality bavarian pretzel its truly a gift. Its all about family and quality ingredients. Cheers to SDPC!!! YUM!

Yelp
being a native of the land of cheesesteaks, throwing snowballs at santa, AND soft pretzels, i take my twisted treats quite seriously. as a young rug rat, or child, i remember going to philadelphia ball games and my father ALWAYS used to buy soft pretzels from a older man, who stood under a bridge with a shopping cart piled high with pretzels! he used to scream, "sooOOOOOft pretzels heeEEEErre! only 3 for a buck!!!!" my brother and i were always excited to reach our little hands in that brown paper bag and indulge in the doughy goodness. (with a little spice brown mustard added on top. mmm) over the years, i've tried many brands and flavors, but only one brand takes me back to the summer years of a young philadelphian. that brand is san diego pretzel company! the combination of ingredients and the way they bake their pretzels are nothing but a pretzel loving ones dream! thanks for allowing me to remember some precious moments in my past san diego pretzel company. well done! my mouth is watering now....where is my soft pretzel?!?!?
google avatar

Casey B.

Yelp
I've had these pretzels before and they are very tasty, maybe even the best soft pretzel I have ever had. And I love pretzels! My only beef is that they are hard to find in the stores. I wish they were more readily available.
google avatar

Darren G.

Yelp
the san diego pretzel company classic bavarian pretzel is the best pretzel in the world! hands down!

Yelp
omg, i had one of these pretzels yesterday for first time and they were the BEST! yummmm! wow, just like from NYC, where I grew up and have fond memories of the NY pretzels there. these are the real deal, topped with the perfect amount of coarse sea salt. delicious! you must give these a try.

G D.

Yelp
Delicious pretzels made with the finest ingredients! For someone accustomed to soft pretzels from Philadelphia I'm not very easily impressed... but San Diego Pretzel Company is world class and makes the best I've had!
google avatar

Yelp

Yelp
BEST PRETZEL IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love, love, love, love, love it! I live in NYC and there isn't a pretzel like SDPC's. So amazingly good!

M V.

Yelp
Love them! They remind me of the toasty ones you get on the streets of NYC. So happy to find this company.
