I love San Fransisco Brewcraft! A great selection of local (Admiral Malting) to Imported malts from Crisp, BSG, Weyerman and more. Dried and fresh Brewers yeast, hops from all over the global, equipment and other ingredients are available to home brew beer, wine, cider or make your own homemade sodas or cordials. Helpful and knowledgeable staff can help you design a recipe, offer tips, suggestions on beers you’ve brewed and how to fix them. This shop has charm, books to expand your knowledge, and ingredients to make almost any beer style.

The staff has a great knowledge base for brewing. They have a wide selection of popular grains and specialty grains are also available. It is a small store but they are able to provide a great selection of brewing supplies and equipment. Super friendly and a fun trip when the brewing bug bites.

I after using homebrew stores in Boston and NC, this store is very lackluster. Sure, the prices are higher, but that was to be expected. The hops selection was abysmal unless you are looking to make a German/British style beer. There was no Citra or Mosaic and only about 12 varietals total. The grain selection is fine and the guy is friendly. May return, but only to get grain without having to order in bulk.

If you live nearby, I can understand the benefits of popping over to grab something. But every time I head to Brewcraft to stock up for a weekend brew (make sure to not go at opening since they're sometimes late to open), an ingredient that I'm looking for is out of stock. The staff has been helpful suggesting alternatives but they often involve changing my recipe. I've also had difficulty getting equipment there due to their very limited selection and stock. I asked if they could order something in for me, even if I was willing to pay for shipping and they refused! I'm all for supporting local and independent businesses but it's been hard to be satisfied with what Brewcraft is offering.

Truly a living gem in the City. If you want to learn to make beer, this place is your first stop. Been coming here for close to five years at this point and they are yet to let me down when looking for a recipe suggestion for my random brew ideas. Not to mention, their always stocked on any ingredients or odd-end pieces of equipment you need for your next under taking. If you have the time, get to know the staff. They're an incredible wealth of knowledge and a lot more educational than a random internet forum.

This place is nothing short of fantastic. It's been around for a long time and has that local/neighborhood feel about it. The inventory is probably the best in and near San Francisco. The staff are nothing short of spectacular. Always friendly and helpful. If you're looking for brewing supplies or are looking to get into homebrewing, THIS is the place to go!

I came in looking to fulfill a very standard recipe and had to make substitution after substitution because EVERY crystal malt from 20L to 80L was out of stock, the hop collection was measly, and the yeast stock was no better. I even had to get a different DME because the most standard variety was...unsurprisingly...also out of stock. The clerk was terse, rude, and utterly indifferent to my presence. He was great at finding substitutions for my recipe, and has probably had plenty of practise at doing so, judging by his shop. Convenience is the only plus here, seeing as there doesn't seem to be any other comparably useful brew shop in the City proper.

I could chat these guys ears off all day. The entire staff knows their beer! They are all friendly. This store has everything you need from beginners to experts in home-brewing supplies! They mix recipes for you on site, and have a great supply of hardware. Check out San Francisco Brewcraft! Jonnie
