It’s been a minute since I got my bike repaired here with Jason the owner but I’m heading there again to get some new things done and wanted to add a glowing review. My bike was pretty thrashed and after two visits to the box stores for repair neither could get it done. Jason took it in and in two days it was literally better than new! The cranks was so tight, brakes and gears worked perfectly. I originally had sticker shock when he gave me the estimate but after getting it back I would have paid double to have my beloved bike back in this mint condition.

I've purchased a few items from this place in the past without much interaction with the staff. Came in recently to ask a few questions I had about a new bike purchase and the tone and attitude of the guy working here was so rude it was almost comical - he was incredibly dismissive and was zero help. I needed to pick up a new bike lock, too, but ended up walking out because of his attitude. It's too bad this is our neighborhood bike shop. Why be in business if you're going to treat customers so poorly? Shop elsewhere. Not surprised by other bad reviews (and the shop owner's defensive tone).

I have a Bosch middrive ebike. Drivetrain was making a weird noise and I needed a general tune-up. First time using this shop, I brought it in early Nov. 2022. Service took two weeks and $235 and the drivetrain issue had not been fixed. I was told at one point that I would need to wait 4 days for the owner to come in and look at my bike, and when I called on the 4th day I was told he had left early that day and not gotten to it yet. Two days later I talked to the owner, he told me he had tried to contact Bosch to warranty my motor and that it was very difficult and he was going to have to charge me by the hour to carry out the warranty process. He told me he couldn't give me an estimate of how many hours it may take to warranty my bike and that it might be very expensive; he also told me that he hadn't looked at it yet. This was the 14th day I had been without my bike and by this point, I was coming to pick it up regardless of what state it was in. When I showed up to the shop, I was told that there was an issue with the freehub body and my only recourse was to replace the Entire Wheel, which would of course be very expensive. Silliness.

Tl;dr untrustworthy service. I had a bike repaired by the staff here and the issue still wasn’t fixed, so I had to bring it back shortly after and was charged again to have it fixed since they seemed to have no recollection of the first repair. I figured it was just a one off, but I bought a measured part from them and was later told that the part was too short (that the same staff member measured!). I like to support local businesses, but I don’t trust their work and don’t appreciate the standoffish attitude from the owner - case in point: the highly defensive responses to the other reviews. I would suggest going to any of the other local bike shops in town.

Been coming here for years for all my bike needs. Always have a great time talking to the staff — Jason is the man and Mojo is just the coolest little pup. Awesome local bike shop!

Very negative and dismissive attitude - I’ve actually never encountered such poor service at a bike shop. I just went there today along a bike ride as I was having a problem with my derailer and asked to use a plier and Allen key myself - usually bike shops have a pump and tools outside! - and was given the wrong size... Jason brushed me off with “I just love loaning people my tools who don’t buy anything, but just keep doing it.” What?? I was actually also there to buy a tube but I just dropped this and went to another bike shop. I suggest you do the same!

After spending the summer at home with family in NY, I was headed back to CA for PhD study, and I wanted a good bike to be there for me when I arrived. Of course, COVID-19 meant that bikes were in short supply. And me being 4'10", long legs and medium-short arms, I don't mesh with quite a few models, even in the smallest size. Somehow, Jason from San Francyclo made magic happen. And was warm + personable throughout. He did a great job with getting a Marin Presidio 2 set up for me, from purchase to assembly to final touches + fitting. Experience was incredibly positive in every aspect. I trust Jason highly, and reccommend San Francyclo to anybody who asks :)

I stoped in last second to have a bicycle put together. The guy there went above and beyond with the service provided and stayed past closing 30 minutes to get everything right. I then bought some accessories like a phone holder and he came over and installed them for me while also giving me tips for riding in SF and applications to use. 6/5 stars if it were an option. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Awesome bike shop near Golden Gate Park! I want to echo what other reviews have said: Andrew is the best! He has helped me and my bike on numerous occasions for a variety of reasons. He has taught me different fixes and how to properly maintain my bike, which I'm very thankful for. I also bought a heavy duty bike lock on Andrew's recommendation and it's worked out marvelously. The store has a great selection of bike equipment so if you're in need of something - check it out!

Andrew is the best. He's helped me switch out my petals, install clip-in shoes, fill up my tires, etc. I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to my gravel bike and he is very patient and very fair pricing. I'll keep coming back here.

This has been my go to shop for any and all bike needs. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with solid turn around times. I got my tires replaced here and pricing seemed reasonable. I would just call ahead of time and check the hours they're open.

Rode away only to have my gears slipping. Went back to ask about the issue, and the mechanic test rode the bike and confirmed it needed more work. He then informed me that he would have to charge me more, and asked if I could come back since he didn't have time to work on it then. Why should I have to pay more for something else they missed during the service I payed for? I decided that after the initial interaction I had with the owner, I would never give San francyclo my business ever again. I will be going to another bike shop to have them fix all the things San francyclo missed and couldn't do...

I've purchased two electric bikes from this shop and every time I've been really pleased with my purchase and the customer service. Jason has always been super helpful. The prices there are competitive and he knows his stuff. I've also had nothing but positive experiences with the other staff and bike service as well. If you need a bike in the city, this is the place to go!

I try to use local independent shops to support local business. I had a VERY simple chain replacement. The owner said he had the right chain but when I came back he said he had to jury rig a chain and charged me extra. I can live with that. But, about 400 miles later the chain fell off while I was riding down Van Ness. This caused me to crash. Fortunately there was no incoming traffic and I did not incur any injuries. I have been riding bikes for over 60 years and have had a chain come off the chain ring but NEVER separate and fall off.

This place does fine bicycle work, but the service and attitude is horrible. I have been there many times to service bikes and purchase items, but today was just too much. I can't reasonably recommend you go there because you will just feel done wrong by the time you're out :( In this specific instance (so the reader doesn't think I am generalizing in some superlatives): - I called ahead and asked first if I can drop off a bike for service (not even same day). - It's not reasonable to then greet your repeat customer with "you're too late" (it was 2pm, closing time is at 5pm), especially if the service was not even expected same day or week. - It's definitely not normal to then, in addition, suggest that your client wait 30min before you can take a name/address (takes 30sec). Oh well .. thankfully there's plenty of equally good service, but with a smile. Good luck ..

I was hesitant about this bike shop after seeing some bad reviews, but it's close by and I just needed new brake pads, so I took a chance. Unfortunately, the bad reviews were spot on. The owner, Jason, told me my bike would be ready the next day. When I called, he hadn't even started. No problem, but I needed the bike for the night so I could pick it up and drop it off another time. However, he apparently thought this was rushing him, so he called me back, cussing out both me and my bike (calling my bike a cheap Chinese POS. I'm Asian myself, so maybe some double entendre was meant?). He was in the process of removing parts that I hadn't asked to be removed and wanted to charge me extra for them. I have never dealt with someone who despises their own customers so much. I wanted to support a local bike shop in my neighborhood, but due to the owner's attitude, I will never return to this shop again.

I'm so happy to get my bike from Jason at San Francyclo. After years of riding a single speed, I decided to try a gravel bike, a Marin Nicasio Plus. They're currently hard to find. I stopped by and the Nicasio Plus was on the stand, in my size. It was already sorta kinda spoken for... but I still had hope. I called a few days later and learned it was still available and I now own it! It's a great shop with everything you could possibly want in the world of bikes. There's the shop dog Mojo! Super friendly loves to be pet, you will not be able to resist! San Francyclo will be my go to shop!

Thanks for repairing my garage sale find (Fujitsu 70's ten speed) with a deft and caring hand. I'm sure the former owner would be greatful his bike is so well cared for. My friends say I should hang it on the wall as a piece of sculpture it's so beautiful and I agree.

My new local bike repair shop - friendly staff, good prices, and service. When you go there, be sure and ask to see "Mojo".

I can't recommend these folks enough. I was shopping for electric bikes and went to multiple places around San Francisco. Jason was the only one who took the time with me, fielded all of my questions without judgement, and made me feel valued. It didn't have a used car lot feel like other places I went to. Since then, both Jason and Andrew have made me want to return here for any future bike needs. Plus the shop dog is so loveable.

This place is the best. I managed to mess up my tire while mounting my computrainer. They got it fixed in no time and taught he a thing or two so don't make the same mistake again. They are currently pretty busy with everyone WFH, but I def plan on a sing then more for gear, tuneups, and really repairs.

It's been brought to my attention by several independent sources (the REI bike guy, the bike-to-work service station, Google results...) that the reason Hamilton's gear shift has become so crunchy and wonky and hard to work is because he needs a new chain and probably rear cassette. Hamilton is my 4-year-old hybrid commuter bike and he helps me get around the city every day, so it's difficult for me to leave him at a shop for an extended period of time. But something needed to be done! Realizing how tricky it is to get walk-in service, I stopped by San Francyclo hoping to at least make an appointment for a later date. The folks there have always been good to me and my bikes, and even accepted my CommuterChecks back when I had that benefit. They also never once seemed condescending to me, unlike some other options in the Richmond. In any case, Matt not only took the time to look at Hamilton right away, he was able to fix the issue, too--first offering to only swap out the chain to see if that solved the problem, and then letting me choose whether to also get new gears. I decided we might as well, not believing my luck that we could address everything right there and then. Matt also helped with some adjustments and greased the cables for me... all for a very, very fair price. I left the shop with what felt like a new bike. Thanks, Matt! That was so helpful and awesome! -1 star for lack of doggie today. Just kidding!

This is a fantastic neighborhood bike shop. I provided 15 mins notice to inquire if they could fix a flat tire. I figured it wouldn't be possible since I know most bike shops are very busy these days (e.g. everyone in SF wants to be biking to escape their quarantine life). However, with little notice, Jason (the shop owner) was more than happy to fix my tire as well as a few other misc items that needed to be fine-tuned. Super nice guy and great vibes all around! Support these local spots! I will definitely be going back as my wife is in the market for a bike. Thanks again San Francyclo for your great service!

I recently wrote a review about the customer service bring great. I still think so, but I would highly recommend that you ask for prices for the parts and labor. I was actually hoping to only buy the tyre and change it myself but maybe because I was wearing a mask, the shop owner didn't hear me say that I only needed a tyre.

Stay Away The sole employee (and owner) attempted to up-charge both my roommate and I for services that we didn't ask for. When I challenged him for charging me more money for doing things to my bike that I didn't ask him to do, he started yelling at causing all other customers to leave in discomfort. He proceeded to ask me never to come back to his store He put a sign on the door the day it was done saying (not open today. Maybe tomorrow?) Unacceptable behavior

Had an appointment to drop off my bike for service at 11am today. Shop was closed with no sign. I've had this appointment for a few weeks now. If they're closed for Veterans Day, I get it but at least put up a sign and CALL your customers to let them know! I'm taking time from work to ride my bike over for a scheduled appointment, least they could do is communicate. Super disappointed as they get great reviews but unfortunately this isn't a review on their work since I couldn't even get in the door

My Trek mountain bike needed a tune up and I called in to inquire. Jason said bring it down but said he was a little backed up. No problem on my end as there was no hurry and I appreciated the honesty. I brought the bike down and he examined it and pointed out a few things that needed immediate attention and few things I should keep an eye on. I left and he said he'd call me when it was ready with an estimated time of completion. He called when my bike was ready and I chatted with Jason for a bit when I picked it up. Really nice guy, excellent service, and fair prices. I'll definitely be back to support this local business..With a tune up and a couple new brake pads my bike was running as good as new. He also had a lot of bikes for sale. I'd definitely check his shop out in the future if I was in the market for a bike.. thx Jason.

This bike shop is a "San Fransisco Gem" Mojo the dog will greet you when you enter the shop. Jason will assist with anything and get you back on the road in no time. The customer service is excellent every single time. From initial purchase to any needed repairs, San Francyclo is the shop for all you bicycles needs from traditional cycling , e-bike and accessory's!

Hi everyone In last 4 years we spend 1300$ in this shop for 2 bikes I stop by two days ago - and asked for chain lubrications/ owner was busy with some small emergency he had- he asked me if I can come back in 1 hour( no sense to me it takes 20 seconds to give this lubrications) I came back next day- he sad it's 9$ I didn't take money with me thinking he has huge packages of this lubrications ( everyone need) I sad I must come back tomorrow WITH MONEY He started Laughing on me... Why you Laughing on me ?- I sad Because you coming here second time and still didn't get lubrications- he sad.... I can't comment this.. You guys make you decisions before coming and spending you money here He is not deserving our money with such attitude he has to people He absolutely looking at you only like a wallet My advice: keep speeding when you go down hill from GG PARK STAY ATRONG AND HEALTHY

Friendly neighborhood bike shop with knowledgeable and helpful staff. I stopped by to get help on a new bike. Something didn't feel right size wise and I got some great advice by someone who seemed to know what he's talking about. I've heard some bike shops won't give you the time of day or other shops being rude to new cyclists. But not here. They're great to work with. And I want to support our local shop!

Check this place out if you want to rent bikes to ride in Golden Gate Park. The process was fairly easy. You'll need a credit card with $250 deposit for each bike. The rates are $10 / hr for the first 2 hrs, and $40 / day. I was a bit confused by this, as I thought I would be charged the hourly rate up to 4 hrs usage, which would then turn into the daily rate. We had our rental bikes checked out for 2 hrs and 11 minutes, but were charged the full daily rate. It's not a deal killer, but I wish I had known and I would have checked them out for longer. The bikes themselves were in great shape with multiple speeds for use on those hills in the park. The chain came off once, but it was an easy fix. Next time I'll keep napkins in my bag for the inevitable greasy hands that resulted from the chain issue. In 2 hours, we easily rode the entire loop of the park, stopping often to look at gardens, trees, the windmill and Ocean Beach.

Came in on a Wednesday around 11:15 looking for a tune up of my bike. I use my bike to commute daily to the east bay and needed a same day tune up. I spoke with the counter person and after all he said that he was backed up and it would take a week. That's fine I understood. I told him I couldn't afford a week with my bike as I was walking out he made very snide remarks to other customers about my desire for a same day tune up. It was really rude and unprofessional. This is my local shop and been coming for years. It was fine that you couldn't service my bike In the day I understand but I didn't need the attitude from the employee. Won't be coming back

Wonderful neighborhood shop with really great service. I have a late-'80s Specialized Rock Hopper that hasn't been ridden in years and decided to come here to get it fixed up. I'd originally read the more negative reviews while looking for bike shops, and am glad to report that I experienced none of that. Alex was super helpful, answered all of my questions, and never tried to push me to buy anything, even when I told him I was a total beginner and started mentioning other items I needed. He showed me options, gave me pros and cons, and let me decide -- the exact opposite of my experience only hours later, when I went to shop for a new mattress (within five minutes of talking to the salesperson, he tried to upsell me into buying a $3000 mattress in a material I'd already told him I didn't want.) I wasn't able to pick up my bike till a week later, and they were still genuinely nice each time they called to remind/update me, haha. When I finally walked in, Alex recognized me and greeted me by name, and I ended up having a nice chat with him and another customer who was already being helped, while the other staff member (sorry, didn't catch his name) helped me with some more gear. A really nice way to end the afternoon. I'm from this neighborhood, so remember this space back when and before it was a photo lab. I also remember being horrified when the photo lab was gone, and wondering if the neighborhood was going to "gentrify". Well, it is places like this that make SF so much better! 11/10 would come back again.

Snap! Off came my saddle when riding behind the Conservatory of Flowers. The bolt had snapped and luckily a kind passerby told me I was just blocks away from this bike shop. 5:45pm on a Monday--I hoped they were still open. I rolled in and was greeted warmly by Aaron who took care of me and got me literally back in the saddle so I could finish my much-needed ride. Thanks fellas and see you again!

Jason runs a fine shop here. Super knowledgeable resource, skilled mechanic, gets repairs complete on time. This is a real neighborhood small business that amazon and the condo developers have not yet overrun. And, he has a great dog named Mojo out front.

Best bike store in San Francisco. I bought a BMX bike for my twin boys. After getting home and letting them take it for a spin I quickly realized it was not exactly what I had in mind. I called Jason up and asked if I could return it and he said absolutely. Something that is typically not heard of from a small locally owned bike store. Since he was some accommodating I then asked if he could get the new BMX bike that I thought would be more appropriate for my boys. He also told me no problem at all although it may take some time to hunt down since bikes under $1000 are hard to come by. He got back to me quickly and told me it would be in his shop in a matter of days.

Very chill folks, enjoyable experience test driving their electric scooters on several occasions. Eventually, PeterD purchased an L5 EcoReco which subsequently had a minor issue with the drive hub. Jason was on it to facilitate a repair with Jay Sung the CEO of EcoReco. Only downside was I had to drive to Campbell, but, when I arrived at 4P, Jay and the EcoReco team replaced my drive hub in 1 hour (can't understand all the losers on FB trashing EcoReco - they always answer the phone, return emails and followed up with me 5 times). No problems with the L5 since, and PeterD finishes his last mile faster than Harvey Weinstein can attack a bucket of pasta.

March 26. I walk in unannounced demand assistance and I don't look like I'm a potential customer. These fucking rock stars drop everything, answer my question, let me use their tools, and make sure everything is working right before I'm on my way. And They let me use their businesses restroom for water. I'm a cheap fucking bastard and don't like to say thank you, but I had to leave a tip. I was really impressed and really grateful have to have those stranger essentially help me solve a problem without asking for anything.

Alex is an incredibly kind, dedicated, (and tall), bike mechanic that took the time needed to fix my touring bike. This little shop is filled with a wonderful assortment of bikes from ebikes, mountain bikes, and even Surlys for touring. If you are in the area, they also have two pumps outside so anyone can fill tires with air. Plus, they play good music. Stop by your local bike shop and get to know your community. Glad to have met everyone here.

I rode from the city to Golden Gate Park on Sept 6th. At GG Park I found I had a flat tire. I was grateful that San Francyclo was close and open. He was friendly, altho did not wear a mask, which was disconcerting. I rode home 4 miles and had another flat by the time I reached home after just paying $35 for a new tube and repair. I went to another shop on Monday and got a new tube to discover that the one put in the day before at San Francyclo was the wrong tube. It was too small and because of the wrong size, it went flat again. Because he put the wrong tube in, I did feel cheated and could only give a 1 star.

Awesome. Thought I needed some work done on my bike and the technician took a look, explained my issue, and told me everything was alright; no need for any repairs. They did all this for free right when I walked in. Great team. Definitely give them a try.

These guys were rad! Tried to go for a ride yesterday and much dismay the chain was off the wheel. Long story short, I remembered there was a bike shop down the block. Wheeled my bike in and Jason totally made the world a better place by fixing my bike. Love the puppy Mojo as he hopped up on my and 'forced' me to have a wee love affair with him, blush... What can I say, I'm a sucker for a cute dog! They hooked me up w/ this killer light for the bike and I got a sticker! Yup, new fave bike store! I'll be back for sure:)

OK so, enough time has passed since I've last been here where I can feel like I can write a semi-negative review without them remembering me.. in case I have to go back. It's the bike shop closest to me and i'm all about convenience This place is hit or miss and it depends largely on if that awesome dog is there, because when the dog is there, the owner is too. Sometimes I get top notch customer service and other times i'm treated like a piece of garbage by the hipster bike mechanic. Calm down man, did you forget to pack your granola?

This past Sunday I was in a rush to get a bike. We had a afternoon of biking planned and my bike was broken down. I went into San Francyclo because it's in my neighborhood to see if they could sell me something cheap that was used or just not fancy. We told the attendant that we were looking for a cheap bike to ride around town (eg, multiple gears). He told us their cheapest was in the $400 range. That was too expensive. Then he got an idea and led us to the back. Once there he showed us a used Mountain bike that looked pretty fancy. He quoted us $250 for the bike and a free tune-up. Now, here is where I should have stopped and looked up the model on the internet and tried to bargain. I didn't do that. I wish I would have. I took the bike for a little ride around. It seemed fine and worked for my purposes. Later on that evening after we returned home I looked up the pedigree of the bike I had purchased for $250. It was retailing NEW for $120 and going used for $80-100. Whoops. Guess I shouldn't have trusted them. Do your homework and know what things are worth before you go in. Don't be like me. Don't expect them to do you any favors. Was he trying to rip me off because I was in a hurry? Did he genuinely think the bike was worth more than double it's retail value? I don't know (EDIT: no, yes). I do know that they didn't do anything wrong, but the experience left a really bad taste in my mouth, and I won't buy a used bike there again. EDIT: After the shop contacted me to explain the reason for the price, I'm satisfied they were not trying to rip me off. Instead, it seems that one might be better off not purchasing used bikes here because they need to mark them up to make a profit (see the shop's response to my review below) and the price--for my bike anyway--is more than the retail cost of the bike itself.

A seriously great experience working with Jason to buy a Yuba bike. He let us test drive a couple of different bikes so we could figure out which ones work best for our needs and then followed up with information to help us make a decision. He then went out of his way to accommodate us, pick up our bike from the factory, put it together and get it to us in record time. This is exactly the kind of neighborhood bike shop you want with knowledgeable people who do everything they can to help you. Thanks Jason!

RENTAL: So I'm a tourist, and I wanted to ride in Golden Gate Park on car-free Sunday. This shop is very near the northeast corner of the park. It is small but well-staffed, and the service was excellent. The 21-speed hybrid bike was in perfect condition, and a lock and helmet were provided, free. You'll need a credit card for the $250 deposit. I didn't check anyone else's rates for rentals, but I thought $40 for the full day was very reasonable. (They have hourly rates too. But come on, it's a huge park!) The one drawback is they close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, and I had to get the bike back to them by then.

"Sunset " magazine had a small article about this place and the fact that it offers a "bike guided brew pub tour" of San Francisco. My husband and I are from Chicago and thought this would be a blast. Beer and Biking-Woohoo! We found out from our tour guide (Jason, the owner) that you can get a BUI (Biking Under the Influence), so we just had a few sips. ;) Jason was such a warm and knowledgable host. He took us off the beaten path to the places that only locals know about. We also visited Magnolia Brew Pub which is in the thick of things. We had an absolute blast. Side note: As we were waiting, I watched a family get fitted on a "triple bike" (Mom, Dad, daughter) with a basket for their little dog. The staff catered to everyone (lap dog included).

It's unfortunate that other reviewers don't have more patience for these small bike shop employees who are under huge stress staying open and putting themselves at a level of risk to keep all of our machines running. The shop is totally backed up because everyone in San Francisco is riding around during shelter in place, buying new bikes, repairing old ones and tuning. I just got a flat repaired and it came with extra supplies and a nice explanation of how to avoid problems with my tubeless tires in the future. Thank you Sanfrancyclo for keeping us rolling during COVID!! Let's all be appreciative of each other during these tough times.

It's a good thing riding a bike is one of those life skills you never lose, because I'm on one so infrequently I'd be relearning it every time I got back on one. Unlike a big city like, say, Manhattan, walking around San Francisco sucks. A lot. And driving around it is even worse. The answer is to bike, and there's no better place to flex those pedaling muscles than in Golden Gate Park. My gf and I needed a couple of cruisers to get us around the park (which I was surprised to learn is larger than Central Park) and this place had been recommended to us by one of her friends. It's located a couple of blocks outside the park, making it a breeze to leave the shop and get to cruising. Jason, the owner, sized both of us up and picked out a couple of new bikes for us to use. After a quick rundown on the basics of biking (I've never used easier gear changers in my life), he offered up a few suggestions on where to stop while we were in the park. Since we had nothing but time, it was recommended we start at one end, take JFK all the way down, and finish up with some drinks at the Park Chalet outdoor restaurant, which is located right off the beach. Off we went, and by the end of our day we'd biked around 8-9 miles through the entire park, starting off by the Haight entrance, biking up on Hippie Hill, past the Japanese Tea Garden, and then down JFK where we saw the bison paddock and some serene little lakes. Once we'd sucked down a burger and some libations, it was back on the road for another few miles before we got back to the shop. Our entire excursion lasted a good 3-4 hours, and despite being a little tired we could have easily done it all over again. If you want to see Golden Gate Park, do it the right way - by bike. And this is the place to rent it. Everything about our transaction was a breeze, with zero hassle. Can't ask for more than that.

** Review based on bike shop only; no tours or rentals ** I've ridden BMX/mountain bikes my whole life, and this past year I decided to put down my comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, slap on some spandex, and start road biking with the rest of Northern California. With the help of some roadie friends, I found a good used bike on Craigslist and immediately brought it into a local shop for a quick tune. Figured it would be a great way to start with a fresh tune and try out a new shop. I ended up choosing San Francyclo based on all the nice reviews I saw on Yelp, and its proximity to my place. After one visit for the tune and two more for parts, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Wasn't too impressed with the service I received, plus, because of the 7-day return policy, I'm now stuck with two brand new items that I don't want. Honestly, what's to tough about taking back brand new merchandise two weeks after it was purchased? With so many bike shops to choose from in such a small area, providing a sub-par customer experience just doesn't cut it. Since then, I've visited two similarly sized shops in the same area, both of which have done a significantly better job making me feel like they appreciate my business. As a result, I'm happy to say, I've found my shop!

Bought a used bike on Craigslist and brought it here immediately to get it tuned up before taking it on the road. Pretty quick turnaround, and I had an issue with my chain the following day after picking it up, but they graciously fixed it for me without any additional labor charges. I also had a pretty lengthy conversation about the best locks to buy, and I didn't once get the feeling that I was being taken advantage of. These guys definitely know their bikes and I plan on making this my go-to for all of my bike needs in the future.

I called Jason in panic because my tired popped mid-ride in the Sea Cliff area. I looked up bikes on yelp and his business was the 2nd closest to me with good ratings. He took me in immediately and patched up my bike in 10 minutes, mind you it was a Friday night. Luckily I had my wallet and phone with me or else I would have been screwed. I definitely reccommend him!!

I was very excited to find this new bike shop on Arguello. There aren't a ton of bike shops in the Inner Richmond Area, so Sanfrancyclo is definitely a great addition to the neighborhood. Jason, the owner, is incredibly welcoming, knowledgable, and down to earth. He gives honest advice and has reasonable prices for both work and merchandise. The location is convenient - right on the Arguello Bike Route a couple blocks from Golden Gate Park.

I regularly buy parts and all the goodies in my garage that always go missing from this shop. During (covid-19) I tried to find a local alternative to amazon for tires, tubes, etc. and the only place I could walk right into was this one. The owner was working overtime trying to keep the Inner-Richmond supplied with bike sales/fixes suddenly prioritized by home-bound locals. He won't steer you wrong and probably has what you need in his deceptively small space!
