I don’t normally write reviews but this was a really disappointing experience. Group of 4 and we all ordered from different places. 3 of 5 orders the food did not match the picture or description. We got a tikka masala pizza instead of the basic cheese we ordered through the Deccan’s. The most egregious was the supposed “Yakima burger” from Native American Fry Bread, which was in actuality a regular burger on untoasted wheat bread covered in five spoonfuls of mayo. The facilities are clean and well lit but there are no utensils or napkins, and only one order provided any with it. The text alerts say the food will be delivered to a locker which is around the corner, but in actuality you have to ask the attendant to get it. We asked about one order about twenty minutes after its estimated time and the attendant was able to find it. The text that it was ready came about ten minutes later. I would guess at some hours or storefronts you may more consistently get what you order, but we won’t be coming back to try.

We ate at Carnitas El Gordo, it was an interesting experience. You order through a Monitor. No cash accepted. The tacos were great and would eat there again.

Came for drinks at Teaologist, was hard to find at first, since it's tucked away in a small spot, but after finding it, was not disappointed! The drinks looked good. The wait was around 14 mins for two drinks.

I went sitting there soft opening so there were only three restaurants open but I’m giving the food hall itself 5 stars cuz I see its big potential. It’s a little further up Santa Clara Street than Walker so the main action of downtown is, maybe 15 minute walk from Cesar Chavez park. I like the way you order at kiosks and there’s at least some limited seating. It’ll be a super convenient place to get multiple cuisines in the same place. There was a lady running the place who is also business owner and she was truly awesome. Energetic and friendly. I’m looking forward to going back when all the restaurants are open. I’ll post info on the food I ate directly on those restaurants links.

More than 50% of eateries were closed on a Saturday and the eatery I did order from is taking over 30mins to send out my food. I’m still sitting here waiting for the food I already paid for and I have no idea when it’ll be out nor do I know which space/door it will come out from. This might be cool space for people start their restaurant dreams but it’s horrible for customers. Sofa market is a thousand times better. Update: finally got my food 45mins after I order. I ordered a thin crust pizza and it’s not what I received.

Came to this location after reading reddit suggestions for its vegetarian/vegan options. There are far better vegan and vegetarian restaurants in bay area, which are tasty, with good portion size and affordable. We will not be back. Cons: Overly expensive for the amount of food or its taste Foods you receive do not match photos Super confusing as where to receive your food since there were only two restaurants that had banner Zero food ingredients or info about sides are listed on the self service menu (good luck if you don’t have your phone with you to have proper research and have allergies), didn’t know where to ask questions Receiving Utensils and cup are up to discretion of the seller, you may not receive one Pros: Free 90 min parking nearby Nicely designed bathroom and food hall walls Water dispenser if you have your bottle and cup with you Raymond's Sourdough Bread by Foodieville Micro Baguettes $9.00 The photo of the item showed few small size sourdough baguettes (plain). The item we received was a larger baguette cut in half crispy on top with oily surface. It was delicious but what we expected was plain sourdough. Again not matching the photo and no item description in self Service machine merci Mediterranean Falafel Gyro $11.99 photo had frieds as side, no fries came with the food. Taste was ok, needed some salt pepper which we found in utensils pack. Tenvis kitchen Samosa $6.99 crispy and warm outside cold as ice inside. Clearly just someone half way microwaved it, couldn’t eat it TOFU TIKKA BIRYANI $18.99 Spicy rice with few silken tofu on top, no other veggie in the dish. Came with yogurt and tiny salad with a piece of lemon as dressing,

Nice place to grab a bite and go. Total duration from the time we placed our order to the time we finished our food was 35 minutes. 15 minutes for our Milk Tea 🧋 and 20 minutes for our Indian food. Highly recommend the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan 🫓, and Samosa 🥟 from Aroma Indian Cuisine. This combo was delicious!!! I totally forgot to order some rice to go with all of this, but that ended up being the right decision because my wife and I were stuffed after we finished everything! Matcha Oat Latte 🧋 from TeaZer was SOOOO GOOOOD!!! We added Crystal Pearls and that made it such a good compliment with the Indian food. Brown Sugar Milk Tea was good as well! We plan on coming back here to try the other kitchen items in the near future! 😋

We were there on a Sunday, which the area has little available. The food hall was a great option for our group to grab food of all kinds of options. The option to order on the kiosk was convenient. The food was good!

Yelp
We had dinner from the "Butter Chicken Hub" in this food hall. We ordered two curries that were very good. Shai Chicken ($18) and Dhaba Lamb ($19). We also had an order of Naan ($3). There is zero service. You order at one of a few screens on a counter. You select the vendor, then browse that menu that shows photos of each item. Add to the cart for the ones you want, then checkout, and pay with a credit card. A receipt is printed at the ordering station. There was no estimate given as to the preparation time; however, it didn't take long (this was at 5:40 pm on a Saturday night). Someone called out the name given when we ordered and handed us a take-out bag. Since we were seated at one of tables, he asked if we wanted plates. We answered "yes" and then he left and a few minutes later returned with some disposable plates and napkins. While the ambiance is basic Spartan food-hall, the food that we ordered was surprisingly tasty. The Shai Chicken had a delicious light-brown creamy sauce. The Dhaba Lamb had a rich sauce.

Yelp
I should have read the reviews before going. Ended up with the same experience as everyone else on the reviews - food took over 30 minutes for sub par over priced food. Such a shame this place had a lot of potential.

Yelp
Yoooo this pizza is delicious. It's $7.25 so pricey, but it's darn good. You can get a cheese or pep for I think $6. It's just solid detroit style pizza!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!

Yelp
Yet another ghost kitchen/food hall in SJ, and like the nearby SoFA Market and San Pedro Square Market, this one offers a bit of dine-in seating, in addition to take out and delivery. There's not a lot of interaction with staff necessary since you either order online, or through one of the many self-order kiosks on site. So service is minimal, but sufficient. The indoor seating area is clean and brand new, and there's a restroom inside the food hall as well. But the outside has boarded up windows and some graffiti on the pickup side (on 3rd street), as of mid-January. Parking will also likely become more challenging if this place becomes more popular. Got to try a breakfast burrito from Mercy Mediterranean recently, and it was tasty and unique. Not many other eateries are available as of mid-January, as the food hall is not yet fully opened. But I like what I see as the current options for upcoming restaurants, a diverse list of eateries consisting of various ethnic cuisines and some new establishments I'm not familiar with, so that's exciting. As each of the restaurants begin to open up for business, what I'm most looking forward to are Silk Road Kitchen and Slobster... will definitely return to try these. Love to have more food options (including many new ones) downtown, and in the city of SJ in general. However, just like many ghost kitchen facilities and food courts, individual businesses hold their own hours of operation, so don't expect every restaurant/shop to be open every day. They've also been changing and delaying the exact businesses and opening dates at this food hall, so don't be surprised if the options aren't reliable or consistent.

Yelp
Ok. My 4th time here. And i feel like an f'ing moron. 1st time, I ordered chicken teriyaki and was given a mess of fat and gristle. 2nd time, I waited 25 minutes for a simple order. 3rd time, o ordered and waited only to be told the vendor was closed. 4th time, I go to order, and they don't accept cash. At first, I was really hoping that would be successful. This location is a mess. Absolutely no organization or consistency. Please just close up shop and be done with this stupid venture. I just want y'all to fail finally so customers stop wasting their time hoping for more.

Yelp
-The food hall is a hole in the wall with lots of seating and kiosks. -Multiple businesses are in this small area and operate through the same kiosks. -There's lots of seating and seems like a good place so study. There's also a restroom so I can see people spending a lot of time there. The problem: -We were there around 11 and the kiosk showed that have of the businesses that operate there were open, but as we scrolled through some of the restaurants that were said to be open, we couldn't actually place the orders. The machine kept saying that the item we wanted wasn't in stock so we changed the other and it still said the same. -we finally ordered from one of the businesses and waited for our order for 30 mins until someone came out from the back rooms just to tell us that the restaurant we ordered from didn't open until 4pm! Couldn't have told us earlier? Couldn't have disabled that business's menu? Overall very frustrating experience. I'm sure the other places that didn't have our items available were also just closed as well.

Yelp
i made my order from masala pizza - i got the spicy butter chicken sandwich and the fries. my total was $18. i enjoyed my meal! the butter chicken tasted yummy and the bread was nicely toasted. my fries were well seasoned and crispy. it did take awhile for my food to come, about 20 mins and there weren't cups for water. it was nice that they brought my food right to my table, i had thought i would have to get up and grab my food when it was ready. overall, a good experience. my friend ordered dumplings from gurkha chicken, and she enjoyed the dumplings as well! would go again if i were in the area

Yelp
This is my second time trying the food hall. I'm not sure what my opinion is of it, but it hasn't impressed me, that is for sure. When I went to place the first order with Luna the system gave me an error and said try later. I did and ended up with two charges but only one burrito. We'll see if it's refunded through the 'need help' system. 1) Raymond's Sourdough - buyer beware. I was already hesitant to pay $9 for a large sourdough round, but I figured I would give it a chance. Mistake. The pictures are nothing like the product. Not only are the small and large round both $9, the large round is 5 1/2" AT BEST! You do not get the bread in a wrapper. It was in a takout bowl and was pre-sliced, and I suspect possibly buttered on the top. All of this would be fine if it was advertised that way on the site, but it's not. I have yet to understand why the small round and the large round are the same price. Had I selected the small round, what would it be? 3"?! The gentleman included a complimentary chicken soup with cilantro (I don't do that) and a cup of coffee with creamer in it (I don't do that either). :/ I appreciate the offerings, but I would have rathered gotten a large round that looked like the photo online and left dry. $10.84 after $1 tip. 2) Luna's Vegetarian Burrito - I've had this before and enjoyed it. Let's hope it is the same today. I would prefer a less expensive Super Taqueria burrito, but leaving City Hall to eat is not easy. I requested the jalapeno's-it doesn't come with them. I've eaten some since starting this and it's decent but nothing to write home about- lacking flavor. I recall the last time the veggies were roasted and tasty, not so much this time. I give them 3.5 stars. $16 after $1.79 tip. 3) Azuma Japanese Sushi - I did not order this so I can't review them. What you see was $25 after tip. I think I'm done with the food hall. BTW, if you order ahead, you now pick up from a side room with amazon type lockers and you must know your order info or have a way to scan it. Not sure it warrants tipping since you are doing the work to get your food. And be careful when going into the room. The door is elevated with no indication, so it's very easy to trip going in and to fall coming out due to the drop. Not sure how they are exempt from ADA requirements.

Yelp
I think there are multiple pages for this location on Yelp, so here's a review for the one that came up on my word search. No idea why would they open with only two options available. Not worth coming yet. The Mediterranean wrap I got was delicious though. I recommend.

Yelp
San Jose Food Hall is a food hall / ghost kitchen kind of spot. Parking is a bit hit or miss, as it is mostly street parking in the downtown San Jose area - I was able to get metered parking right in front, as I came a early in the day. The exterior looks pretty modern - it stood out and caught my attention a few times in the past, so I am glad to finally be able to check it out, while the interior was not that bright, but it is spacious and looks semi-modern. Ordering is through the kiosks inside, but you can only order from one restaurant at a time - I thought I could order everything together and I tried doing so, but the system did not let me. Service from the employee sitting by the front podium was good, she was friendly and welcoming - she was probably the only positive aspect of my whole experience here, as I did not enjoy any of the boba drinks I ordered from here. Plenty of seating, but not the cleanest - I had to pick the table that looked the cleanest / less sticky. Overall, I feel like the experience and drinks here was like 2 stars, but the service from the 1 employee at the front was good, hence the 3 stars instead.

Yelp
I acknowledge that I went here during their soft opening phase and some kinks are still getting worked out. Hopefully this review can give them some ideas to improve. I was excited to hear this secret project finally opened and wanted to try a new option to the rotation of San Pedro Square and SoFa market. The website lists ~20 different food options that will be available at this hall, but on 2024-02-02, only 3 were listed as open on the kiosk. But one of those 3 didn't have any options on the menu, so we only had options of sushi/udon and Mediterranean. You order at a kiosk which has options for all of the available restaurants. When the food was ready, it was inconsistent about whether you went to the counter and picked it up or whether a runner brought it to you. In their soft opening, the food was only available in takeout containers. My friend's udon came in the tall quart plastic deli containers, which is not ideal to eat udon in, but the place didn't have any bowls to pour the soup into. They didn't even have spoons! We had to take some from the Mediterranean place. The runner explained that the takeout containers made it easy to carry the food the (3 feet) from counter to customer. I ordered the falafel plate from the Mediterranean place. The falafel and humus were good but not amazing, and the salad was meh. The hall needs to work on its background playlist and volume. At times the music was too loud and reverberated off the hard tile surfaces everywhere, making it very hard to hear my friends. It also kept cycling quickly through weird genres of music. The staff were very kind and trying their best. Final logistical deets: no parking, either walk, transit, or park in paid public garages a few blocks away. No outside seating. Enough indoor seating to sit ~20-30 people, way less than San Pedro square and a bit less than SoFa market. Overall, the ghost kitchen vibes are coming through, less hangout vibes. I do hope to come back once more options open and some kinks are ironed out.

Yelp
More than half the eateries were closed on a Saturday, and the one I ordered from took over 30 minutes to prepare my food. I'm still waiting with no clear idea of when or where my order will arrive. While this place might be a great spot for aspiring restaurant owners, it's a frustrating experience for customers. Sofa Market is far superior.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy at all. I placed my order using the self order kiosk and got a confirmation text stating that my food is being prepared and will be done in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes passed, my order didn't come out so my friends asked one of the workers about the order. The worker went in the back & after a couple of minutes, they said that it would take another 30 minutes. Didn't even try the food but service was terrible. We left and got a refund. Definitely won't be returning.

Yelp
We went to have some late lunch and I got Daal with paratha from SpicePulao. Unfortunately I felt something weird in my mouth and it was a metal wire. I had to stop eating immediately and was worried that I ate some of it already. My friend brought it to the attention of the staff. One person came to apologise and they gave us a partial refund. I think it was from a metal scrubber used to scrub dirty dishes. Sounds like an honest mistake. Just be careful when you have babies trying out food.

Yelp
Went to the San Jose Downtown Food Hall around noon. There was quite a few people there but no lines. Used the QR code to go to https://sjdowntownfoodhall.com/ and ordered from the phone. I wished they had text notification to make the pick up smoother instead of people calling out names. Overall the food had good value and tasted great!

Sing M.

Yelp
The five stars is for the new bathrooms inside the food hall. See pictures. Also the teriyaki chicken is also a big improvement compared with the chicken teriyaki from the SJSU Student Union, because miso soup, California rolls, and a gyōza are included for under $15 - and this includes everything else. There might be a half-pound of dark meat chicken here, good for the young university students who need more food than middle-aged adults.

Yelp
Ordered two of the Indian dishes. Ten minutes later we're told that they would not be able to make them fast and it would take up to 30 minutes for the order. The chef apologized and said he'd help us out with freebies and assured us he could make the orders. We were later given sub-par fries Twenty-five minutes in, the chef comes back out saying he can't prepare my girflriend's order because of lack of ingredients and just says he can make her some other dish with cauliflower. Not what we ordered but we're trying to be nice and agreed despite being in a rush. When my dish came out, a quinoa buryani one it was the SPICIEST Indian dish I have ever had and was completely inedible and had me running around looking for some snacks I had just to try and get the taste out because my mouth was burning. It also contained tomatoes (I get heartburn) despite the order screen not making that apparent whatsoever. Food was inedible so we told the manager we wanted a full refund and left because we had somewhere else to be. An hour later, the manager called me and said he would offer a 50% refund despite us being completely unsatisfied with everything and essentially eating neither dish. I demand a full refund which is what normal restaurants do when food is sent back. He then tried to argue we were disrespectful for leaving (lol) and that he had to make up for the cost of doing business. When I reiterated that I wanted a full refund, he demanded I answer him questions related to food. It was the most immature and ridiculous thing I've encountered from a restaurant in my life, all because his greed wanted to net another $19 (some of which was a tip they clearly never deserved). Utterly insane!

Yelp
Terrible experience. My group and I ordered some banh mi and some drinks. 2 people in our group got their drinks in a reasonable amount of time however we had waited about 30 minutes without the banh mi's we ordered or our drinks ever coming out. I would understand if the place was busy but we were the only people in there. When we ordered it did say about 15 minutes but 30 minutes and we were the only people there. Like bruh cmon. Then after asking about our order to one employee he went and checked on it and then came back out and said it would take 30 more minutes to finish. So like a whole hour for banh mi? Hell nah. So we ended up just getting refunded and don't plan on coming back.

Cheng J.

Yelp
Ordered a burger from A&B Native American at 6:15PM, and the system estimated pick up time between 6:22 and 6:32. We waited until 6:50. The food came out like prepackaged frozen fare, and def not worth the money or the wait. Avoid this place like a plague if you can, the black plague.

Tanvi A.

Yelp
Great ambiance with tasty food and the staff members are very helpful. There are a vast variety of food from different cuisine

Yelp
ordered 2 chicken biryanis and a burger and ended up waiting over an hour for some doordash level food. go to SOFA market instead
