"This East Village mainstay started out on Second Avenue in 1986, then meandered all over the Lower East Side, the East Village, and Williamsburg, and this branch is one of two that remain. The restaurant is self-described as street tacos, but with plenty of Tex Mex influence and just plain creativity, like the taco loco: A flour tortilla adhered around a hardshell corn tortilla with refried beans, and filled with seasoned ground beef. A very nice casual atmosphere. Dory, our bartender was very friendly and professional. She had knowledge of the public’s preferred menu items and was very welcoming. The food was delicious, and you cannot beat that price. We live in the neighborhood and had never tried it. I had the carnitas nachos and my wife had a taco platter. Both were delicious. Cocktails were much needed after a long day. Will 100% go again. Thanks Dory!

My teenage son took me here and I was pleasantly surprised food is 10/10 I came back with my friends and service was amazing wanna thank waiter especially for saving our stroller without brakes going into street! He ran into action thought there was baby inside! This place deserves ALL the flowers

If you like basic seasonings like salt and pepper do not come to this restaurant. Worst tacos in all of New York. The rice had absolutely no taste, the beans just tasted like lime. Would not recommend please do not come. Came with four other ppl and they completely agreed.

order through delivery. The food was very bland. Since when is Mexican food bland no seasoning. Then nothing had the hot sauce I asked for on certain items. My guests and family were not impressed. It made our taco Tuesday dinner depressing. Never again. I rather order taco bell than from here.

I have been coming to San Loco for more than a decade. While the locations change the food is consistently great. This is not fancy food! This is legit “gringo mex”. There are hard shell tacos, soft shell tacos guacamole, margaritas and more. Everything tastes better when you are buzzed and snacking but that might just be me. This location is super clean and nice with outdoor seating and a plenty of seating.

The food was pretty bland. I ordered the chicken burrito and was pretty much rice, bite after bite. The nachos were incredibly disappointing they just threw “carne asada” on top. No kind of flavor of anything. Lower east side needs better Mexican food or Tex/Mex.

The food was good, enjoyed it. The sersive was mid, and there was a lady with 2 dogs who was sitting next to where you order and close to the kitchen. My girlfriend is highly allergic to dogs and having them in such a small space is not healthy. You also have to order at the counter first before sitting, even tho you have the illusion of a small restaurant with a bar.

It was a nice place and the decor is so classic showing the peaceful ambiance. The service was nice the food was fresh and filling so glad it's in my area I can order from. I feel like that big step in and out is like getting off the mta bus especially when you have a baby carriage. So watch your step if you have a few drinks it is a very cozy place and doesn't break your wallet

This place is located at LES. It is small Mexican spot. It has a cute atmosphere with outdoor seating, The food was good. I ordered the taco salad with beef. The taco bowl wasn't salty nor oily. I like it that it was crispy. The portion is good. The service was good as well. The gentleman at the cashier was kind enough to suggested the type of beef he recommends. Was in the neighborhood, hungry trying to find a place that accepts credit card. Found it. The place was not busy for a Saturday afternoon. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The menu options seem very similar to a Chipotle or a Qdoba. So the menu seemed very boring. No real authentic Mexican food like Chilaquiles, Tacos de Lengua, ect. The Tacos I ordered had sad veggies, it was edible, the food was very bland..no sazon My friend ordered a burrito. I had a bite and that was Delicious, if I come back I would order the burrito

Exceptional service. Jon promptly tended to all our needs. He was the consummate professional. Very reasonably priced !!! 8 wings for $12. What ? Ball park nachos were tasty ! $15 for patron margaritas -- which my spouse said was top notch. We shall be back !!!

Coming from California: - the street tacos are pretty standard tacos - the "Mission style" burrito is a little smaller than I expected, but still filling and good - the "macho nachos" (what kind of name is that?!) are pretty good and have alllll the toppings

Get the flan!!! A friend recommended the flan and we happened to be in the area so we picked up their last 3 flans on our way home. Holy cow!

Don't sleep on the flan! the tacos are good and place was chill but omg that flan. The bartender said it was the owner's wife who makes it i think and it was next level. I live in upper manhattan and have contemplated trekking all the way down here just for the flan.

Cute little spot. We had dinner reservations around the corner and arrived early so we decided to grab a few drinks here. The drinks were good. We did have chips and guacamole which were really good. All of the other food coming out looked and smelled delicious. Would definitely go back to eat here if we are over there next time.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Everything was so, so, so, so, so bland. Crumbled tofu was just weird and gross. Filled with undercooked onions (they should call it onion filling - not tofu!) Guac was bland. Beans and rice were bland. The verde enchiladas are just legitimately disgusting. I've never had verde sauce like that - and I never want to again!

I usually have a decent experience but not today. Ordered a chicken quesadilla and snack size pico de gallo w/ chips, to go. Midway while waiting I decided to order a large mango margarita, which is when I noticed the terrible attitude of the server. She attempted to upcharge me for the margarita and claim my first payment never went through. Came home and my chicken quesadilla has no chicken. It wasn't even busy, don't come here.

Meh. Use to come here all the time and it use to be amazing. But ever since this area became even more gentrified it's like they stopped seasoning their food Just straight up flavorless. The drinks are still a hit though. Prickly pear is my go too. On the rocks and frozen are both delicious.

This restaurant is really super cute and 100 worth the stop. I ordered a spicy tofu burrito and a limeade. The burrito had really well balanced flavors. Tofu can be a bit repulsive but the burrito was so good that I didn't even remember that it was in there! The limeade was a smash hit too. It had this bitterness that i loved and was very refreshing. If i could have I would have ordered a few more. The ladies in my party ordered margaritas and from what I could tell they loved them! 10/10 would recommend this spot to anyone!

New taco joint on avenue C between 7th and 8th. Well lit (a little too bright), a medium size bar, plenty of tables-and not many people in it. None in fact the 2 times I've came. Food was made with decent quality ingredients but was noticeably cold, on both occasions. My food was prepared very quickly, but makes me think the ingredients have been sitting there a while. Price was around $5 per taco, for the cheapest one. They're open until 4am most nights

Their hot sauce, especially Serious sauce, is very flavorful and goes perfectly well with their foods. I've tried their tacos, quesadillas and nachos, and all of them are very tasty. I love this place very much.

It's 10:48 pm and I just got home from a long shift in the emergency room. every restaurant I called said sorry were closing in 10 minutes. The guys at San Loco said "sure, come on over! We have another ten minutes!" Everyone at the restaurant was kind and friendly, didn't gripe about the time and even let me eat outside as they closed up. oh and the food was good too

It was one of the few places we could find that was still serving food at 11PM on a Saturday night so we gave it a try. The food was nothing special, but the margarita was excellent and the service was exceptional. Overall, a positive experience and I would definitely come back.

The place is rather cold (not talking about the temperature). At least they stuck to the vibe I was getting, as the food was rather cold as well. Is this a joint with southern inspiration or an ice cream truck - not sure. Not that I really cared for the food, since I originally came for the happy hour. Which was a bust and didn't happen. So I went for the next best - the food. Turned out I set myself up for another disappointment.

This place finally opened. Decided to pop in and give it a try. That was my first mistake. Smelled like a high school cafeteria on taco day. Only one other person in an otherwise completely empty restaurant. Sat at the bar. Was never greeted. Waited. Kitchen staff behind the bar playing on their phones. Guy taking orders on phone not 3 feet away from me pretending I wasn't there. Went so far as to put his hand up as a blinder while he was on the phone. Still never got acknowledged. Waited. Left. Sucks, because I literally live on the block, and was kind of excited and nostalgic about having this place so close as a late night option. Good luck San Loco but my guess is your days on Ave. C will be short lived.

San Loco on 111 ave c is always our first option and it never disappoints. Local good food is hard to find especially during this time good Mexican food and drinks. Frozen margaritas are amazing I recommend the Mango. Our server Dietrich was very welcoming he checked our temperature and took down our information. It made me feel safe because there taking extra precaution for safety. (P.s THE LUNCH SPECIALS ARE AWESOME AND AFFORDABLE 12-6)

I live in the neighborhood and was excited a more casual lunch/dinner place to open, especially since I'm a working/busy student. Most spots like Zum, The Wayland, and Loverboy are pretty expensive for drinks and a meal out. San Loco's service is really fast, friendly, and well priced! They also have an extensive menu with basically everything to satisfy a Mexican food craving. They don't have their liquor license yet but I think they are getting it soon-- I know there was some controversy because people didn't want another bar on the block. Definitely great for take-out, would recommend.
