San Luis retreat hotel & lodges

This is such a special place and far exceeded our expectations. We were looking for a place to rest and recharge after a very active week a couple of hours away, and this did the trick and then some. I know there are many stunning hikes nearby, but we opted instead to enjoy the views from our deck and for a few leisurely walks around the property with lots of downtime in the pools, lake and sauna. (Pro tip: sauna + lake = amazing) The staff is attentive and helpful without being obtrusive. The food was plentiful and delicious. I loved waking to breakfast laid out in our private seating area to enjoy at our leisure. The adults only property is quiet and peaceful. This is far from a cookie cutter chain hotel or a conveyor belt mega resort and has all the feels of a thoughtfully curated private compound. Although the restaurant appeared to be quite full on our first couple nights, the property never felt crowded, just calm. If you’re looking for nightlife or a bustling shopping district nearby, this is not your place. This is also not the budget option. And I’m already plotting my next excuse to be in the region and visit again.

I am almost at a loss for words to describe how wonderful this hotel / retreat was. The scenery is extraordinary, the staff is was immensely helpful and astute. I've stayed at Ritz Carltons & other high end stays, they don't even compare to the experience we had at San Luis. The food was some of the best we had in Italy, and this is trip number 8 to Italy for us. The ambience and feel of the mountains combined with the architecture, warmed us to our soul. This place was simply, one of the best experiences and stays I've had the pleasure of enjoying.

I stayed at San Luis Lodges in the Dolomites late last year, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. The property is breathtaking—tucked away in the mountains, designed with incredible care, and built around a sense of calm and privacy. It feels less like a hotel and more like a retreat where time slows down. The food was exceptional, far exceeding my expectations. Every meal felt thoughtful, seasonal, and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find a place where the dining experience consistently surprises you in the best way possible, but San Luis managed to do that throughout my stay. The only aspect that didn’t quite match the rest of the experience was the spa. For a property so secluded and centered around relaxation, I expected something a bit more expansive and built out. What they do have is lovely, but it felt somewhat limited given the overall concept of the hotel. That said, San Luis Lodges is a truly remarkable destination. It’s rare to find a place that feels so intimate yet so elevated, and I left feeling both refreshed and already wanting to return.

For the second year in a row, we’ve stayed at San Luis Retreat Hotel & Lodges and every time the experience is flawless. The rooms offer top comfort, perfect cleanliness, and a warm atmosphere. The service is outstanding – every member of the staff is friendly, professional, and always ready to help. The location is magical, surrounded by nature that brings peace and relaxation. The food is excellent, with carefully selected local and seasonal ingredients. This is a place where you truly feel special, and we look forward to every return.

San Luis is simply magical! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the scenery is breathtaking, and the community has such a vibrant, friendly spirit. Whether you’re here to explore, relax, or enjoy local food and culture, San Luis offers something special for everyone. We came back for the second time already and definitely going to come back soon! I can only recommend this calming and magical place to everyone who wants to escape from the daily routine !

San Luis is a special experience, the grounds of the Resort are beautiful, our Treehouse accommodations were a treat. We had a beautiful large porch with comfy lounge chair and a private sauna which we enjoyed daily. Every morning we enjoyed our breakfast delivered to us on our gorgeous porch. The staff was so helpful, the food delicious and the lake, pool and Spa were wonderful. Lots of great hikes right from the hotel, no car necessary. San Luis was a delightful escape.

We stayed here for a week this summer, and it truly felt like paradise on earth. The location is absolutely stunning, — waking up to the lake view was magical. We loved the cosy décor and the thoughtful layout of the room, which made it feel both welcoming and luxurious. The overall atmosphere of the resort feels wonderfully private, giving us the sense of having our own hidden retreat. The food was exceptional at every single meal, and we have to give a special mention to Maria at the restaurant, whose warmth and attentiveness made each dining experience feel so personal and memorable. We would definitely love to come back here again!

San Luis is not just a luxury retreat —it’s an experience, one that lingers with you long after you leave. I cried tears of joy when I arrived and left, it really was a visceral experience. The chalet-style retreat blends the exclusivity of a five-star resort with the warmth and soul of a boutique stay. All of my friends immediately gasped and reached out to find out where I was when they saw my photos/videos/social - no doubt there will be a tidal wave of New Yorkers after my stay! The attention to detail of the staff and facilities is impeccable: they strike the perfect balance of presence and discretion. However, what truly sets San Luis apart is its atmosphere—a harmonious blend of intimacy, design, and heartfelt hospitality. It's the captures where luxury lies not in excess, but in the subtle perfection of every detail. There are NO photos or videos that can truly do this place justice, despite looking forward to this for over a year I still was taken aback. The chalets is like your own sanctuary, with wood-burning fireplaces, natural materials, and wide glass windows that blur the lines between indoors and the forested world outside. If you’re looking for a refined yet grounded escape, where the luxury is quiet and the experience is personal, San Luis has to be at the top of your list.
