I had the absolute pleasure of staying at San Luis Retreat in the Dolomites, and I can honestly say it was far better than anything I could have imagined. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The cabins are nothing short of magical—perfectly designed, cozy yet luxurious, and surrounded by breathtaking alpine beauty. Waking up each morning to the stillness of the lake and the towering peaks in the distance felt like a dream. Every detail inside the cabins is thoughtfully curated, striking a flawless balance between comfort and elegance. What truly made the stay unforgettable, though, was the incredible staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to making our experience special. Their attention to detail and effortless kindness made us feel not just like guests, but truly cared for. The entire property radiates peace and enchantment—from the stunning spa and wellness areas to the enchanting dining experiences. Whether it was relaxing by the lake, exploring the surroundings, or simply taking in the serene atmosphere, every moment felt restorative and magical. San Luis Retreat isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience that touches your soul. If you’re looking for a place where time slows down, where luxury meets nature, and where hospitality shines brighter than the Dolomite sun, this is it. I cannot recommend it enough.

It's long been clear to us that all generations of the Meister family have an exceptional sense of genuine hospitality. We had long since taken this traditional hotel in the heart of Merano to our hearts, and every major occasion brought us to Meister's Irma in celebration.||Until August 2025, we couldn't imagine that this oasis of well-being could be improved upon. Yes, there is: the Meister family's newest addition, the "San Luis" in Avelengo.|An oasis of tranquility, surrounded by nature, with every comfort you could wish for.||With an intuitive feel for the perfect combination of shapes, colors, and materials, the Meister family has created a unique interior design.|Cozy chalets are clustered around a stunningly beautiful (swimming) lake. The cozy cottages are just far enough apart for maximum privacy,|yet not too far from the main building, so that dinner can be easily reached even in high heels.||My husband and I had so many things planned for this week in San Luis!|We barely managed to do any of them; we couldn't tear ourselves away from "our" little house, the exceptional breakfast, dinner and the wonderful view from the terrace.|We're already looking forward to next year; San Luis will be a fixed date in our calendars.

Dear Team San Luis, Thank you so very much for the most magical stay in your beautiful chalet as I celebrated my 50th birthday with my husband and four friends from Napa, CA and Bologna, Italy for four restorative and peaceful nights. Everything from beginning to end was a 5 star experience and we sincerely want to thank you and your entire team for making this one of our best hotel experiences ever. Upon arrival, we were greeted in the garage by one of your team members who quickly helped us unload all of our baggage and delivered it directly to our chalet while we checked in on your beautiful terrace overlooking the lake. It was such a nice treat after the long drive from Längenfeld to receive your lovely charcuterie board along with a glass of prosecco as we received details about the property and our spa confirmations. Enjoying our private breakfast in the sanctuary of our chalet was a decadent treat and it was the best way to start the day. We loved all of the many rooms around the property to relax and unwind with the crackle of the fire that was always plentiful. The indoor/outdoor pool, steam and sauna rooms were also enjoyed by all 6 members of our party. The common areas were so tranquil and peaceful that all 3 couples enjoyed the privacy of our own space yet the camaraderie of your well appointed lodge space. Lunch and dinner were always superb and one could certainly never go hungry there with the abundance of food at your disposal. Your curated list of hikes was super helpful in helping us choose a great way to spend two hours right off of the property and it was beyond kind of you to supply a backpack for us to carry our waters and lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed my massage treatment with Andreas, a true healer. We will be thinking of your fabulous down duvet black chaise loungers and all of the small details filled with love until our next visit. Wishing you all of the best and much continued success. From the moment we arrived at the San Luis Retreat Hotel we knew we had made the right choice. Warm greetings after a long day of travel, accompanied by snacks and drinks was only the beginning of a magnificent stay. We enjoyed every minute in our chalet; the beds were extremely comfortable, our private sauna was my husband's favorite and of course the in room breakfast option made it feel like home. The meals and service were outstanding! Every attention to detail taken care of. We opted to hike and e-bike during our stay so we never had to leave the property by car. I can't say enough about this place! We would love to come back in the Winter.

I spotted San Luis Lodges hotel years ago, dreaming about staying there and it exceeded our expectations ! We were warmly welcomed by Claudia and offered drinks and snacks at the main house. We stayed on a chalet by the lake with plenty of space, a private sauna, a large tub and a fireplace. Every morning a beautiful breakfast was quietly delivered to our chalet so we could stay cosy to start the day. The hotel is very well maintained and the atmosphere is really peaceful with fireplaces and candles almost everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised that all meals were complementary. There were many choices and every dish was very qualitative and delicious (we ate too much 😊). The swimming pools are outstanding and very warm so you can enjoy them even if it’s cold outside. The location offers amazing views on the mountains and is close to hike trails and Merano city. We stayed at many nice hotels but it is definitively one of our favorites now. We are already planning on coming back during winter.

San Luis lodges is hands down the best relaxing retreat vacation of my life. The location is tucked in a perfect nook in the mountains outside of Moreno. Most beautiful view and landscaping, the spa amenities are top notch from my own private sauna and tub in my chalet to the shared amenities from the lake, pool, saunas, gym and more. The chalets smell of cedar wood, are immaculately clean, with all the amenities, and the silence of the area just encourages relaxation. Not to mention the daily gourmet cake buffet. I had Apple strudel every day. ||Not to worry because there are numerous easily accessible hiking trails all over. ||The family and their team are a delight and so kind and helpful. The best part are the furry family members from their dog Luis to their three friendly and snuggly cats. I’m coming back and next time with my partner and friends!

This is the most amazing place on earth!! The location was perfect. Beautiful mountains , indoor and outdoor pools, decks with gorgeous views and the rooms are lovely. Each room has everything you could possible need or want. The bed was so comfortable with high end bedding. We loved the fireplace and sauna and room service breakfast was next level. We highly recommend the San Luis resort to anyone who is looking for a relaxing retreat with first class service in a beautiful mountain location.
