The San Luis is one of those rare places that stays with you long after you leave. From the moment we arrived, I felt myself slow down in a way I didn’t even realize I needed. The entire retreat, built from beautifully crafted moonwood, has a warmth and calm that you can feel in your bones. It’s peaceful, grounding, and instantly soothing.
Relaxation and privacy are two of my top priorities when I travel, and the San Luis honors both with such intention. Our treehouse felt like our own private sanctuary. It was quiet, tucked into nature, and designed so thoughtfully that we could truly disconnect. Even when the resort was full, it felt like the world had gone quiet just for us.
The staff is extraordinary. They’re professional, intuitive, and genuinely caring in a way that never felt forced. Whatever we needed was handled with such ease and sincerity. It’s rare to feel so well looked after while also feeling completely free to just be.
And the food! Oh my! It was truly gourmet. Every meal felt crafted, not produced, with fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and flavors that made each course something to look forward to. From breakfast delivered to our treehouse, to the elegant dinners, everything was exceptional.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve here, and it was unforgettable. The live music, the atmosphere, the food and wine were all top-notch. It all came together in a way that felt intimate, joyful, and incredibly special to us.
The indoor–outdoor pool deserves its own mention. Floating from the warm interior waters into the crisp mountain air, we were surrounded by silence and scenery. It was one of the most peaceful moments I’ve had in years.
The San Luis isn’t just a luxury retreat. It’s a sanctuary, a place that restores you, holds you, and reminds you what true serenity feels like. I left feeling lighter, calmer, and already dreaming of when I can return.
