"Looking to keep it affordable? That’s what this spot is all about. Order up plates of pasta, which is customizable to your taste, for around $15, apps and salads at $9, and panini for around $12. Wine and sangria are about $6 to $8 per glass. It also serves a weekend brunch menu. The dining room is no frills but classy and the staff are keen to have diners stay for dessert and a coffee." - Courtney E. Smith

"One doesn’t have to get a salad to go with the bowls of pasta here, but if you want some greens to offset the meal the move is the roasted pear salad. Made with arugula, walnuts, honey goat cheese crema, roasted pears, and balsamic vinaigrette, it’s a harmonious and heavenly winter salad." - Courtney E. Smith

We had a great time at San Marzano! The vibe in there is elevated casual which we enjoyed. The menu is small but I felt like there were still enough items for me to choose from. We started off with the arancini and Caesar salad which were fantastic. The two pastas we got were a short rib rigatoni and a vodka sauce rigatoni with spicy sausage. Some reviewers have commented on the portions not being enough but I felt they were enough. Service was friendly and did a good job as they continue to work through new opening logistical issues. We would certainly come back here!

San Marzano is really good, but doesn’t hit great status. Let me explain. Each dish was prepared well and delivered varying degrees of flavor impact. The roasted pear salad was delicious, but the rice balls felt heavier than being flavorful. The short rib ragu delivered a flavor bomb with each bite and I can’t even remember the other sauce. It needed a touch of salt to give it some sort of life. The garlic bread tasted good, but was borderline soggy in the middle. But the crust had a nice crunch to it. Jose, our waiter, was prompt and attentive. The space is large so it felt a bit stark inside despite the design. The restaurant is relatively new so I’m confident they’ll get the kinks worked out!

Great new little restaurant spot in the West Village area. (They opened where the Public School restaurant used to be). The inside is a little cold feeling, very airy and open feeling, not very romantic but also not very divey either. They do have outside seating as well. The staff were all nice and the service was quick. I ordered the Caesar salad ($9) and the Eggplant Parmesan ($9) and they were both very tasty and affordable ! My friend ordered the Shrimp Scampi pasta ($14) and the Wedge Salad ($9). She really enjoyed both. The sauce and the flavor was good. Overall it’s a very affordable, new little Italian spot.

I was skeptical because there weren’t alot of reviews for this restaurant, but the food was amazing! Authentic, handmade fresh pasta and sauces. Highly recommend!!! We ordered the aranchini and garlic bread for appetizers. To drink, I had a cucumber gimlet which was very refreshing and light. For entrees we ordered the campanelle with maialino and the parpadelle with short rib ragù. They also have a happy hour on weekdays til 6. So happy we stopped in and we will be back!

Great Italian spot. Fresh tastes in the pasta and sauces. Value priced wine options that are great. Highly recommend the whole wheat ziti with Alla Norma sauce. Very nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Top notch and will definitely be back.

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. Service was fantastic, our server was very attentive and brought us clean plates and silverware for every course we ordered. As a 4 top we split the happy hour meat balls and arancini which were delicious and flavorful. The meatballs had a lot of herb and garlic flavor and the arancini had nice flavor and crunch. We also split a Caesar salad for the table. Their croutons are delicious! For entrees our table ordered shrimp scampi with spaghetti, short rib ragu with spaghetti, short rib ragu with campanelle, and vecchia bettola with rigatoni. Everyone loved their entrees but the short rib ragu is definitely the favorite among the group! Our table also tried the frozen limoncello and espresso martinis which were delicious. And we shared a tiramasu for dessert. Everything was delicious and service was excellent. I can't wait to come back

I never leave reviews. Making an exception for this place. Not a ton of places doing handmade pasta which already makes this place a gem. Im a sucker for Italian and if I had only one cuisine I could eat the rest of my life it would be Italian, so trust me when I tell you the food here is delicious. Service is attentive and quick (shoutout to bartender Joe). Only complaint is that the portions are so small you’ll forget that everything is bigger in Texas. But that’s forgivable given how affordable the menu choices are (handmade pasta is lots of work, and these days I spend $15 just going to chick-fil-a). And the portions might be smaller but they are still very filling and reasonable for a lunch portion. 10/10 will be coming again throughout the week for lunch. This restaurant is an absolute gem! Every bite is a testament to their dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Their house-made pasta is incredible—perfectly textured and full of flavor, and the fact that they also make their own bread just takes things to another level. The croutons, made from that same amazing bread, add the perfect crunch to their fresh salads. Even the gluten-free pasta is outstanding, which is a rare find! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is just as impressive as the food. If you’re a pasta lover (gluten-free or not), this place is a must-visit!
