Where to Drink Wine in San Diego Right Now

"With tasting rooms in Seaport Village and La Mesa Village, the family-owned San Pasqual Winery may be considered to be San Diego’s first urban winery established in the San Pasqual Valley back in the 1970s. Making nearly 3,500 cases of wine in La Mesa yearly, the winery pours a selection of whites, rosés, reds, sparkling and passionfruit wines as well as dessert-style wines." - Roxana Becerril

Fruit wine party good. A Costco salmon snack pack to nibble on while having the glass of wine..priced at twice what they paid. But it's was gluten free. Nice environment.

San Pasqual Winery was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. Their selection of wines was impressive, but I especially loved their spicy wines, which had a unique kick and rich flavor. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and insights about the wines. It’s a great place to unwind, whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a drink. I’d definitely visit again for the amazing ambiance and delicious, bold flavors!

What a delightful surprise! I decided to indulge in the white wine flight, and let me tell you, each sip was a revelation. The Albariño absolutely stole the show with its vibrant flavors, while the Chardonnay was nothing short of exquisite. Both were a true treat for the palate!

🌴 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🍷 🌴 Winery in Seaport Village- Dog friendly outdoor terrace, seats approximately 20+ people. 64 degrees in early December & ☀️ sunny! Bluman and I went for a walk; ran into a winery! FAB local winery w/ view of yacht club, SD bay & Seaport Village walkway. People watch while the sun passes by w/ yummy wines, cheese, crackers, water etc to purchase or u could bring your own snack & drink their wine. 🍷

We tried the Reds from the Med and they were good. Preferred the tempranillo of the trio. Nice place to have a drink with a view and people watch.

Google
I never expected a place like this to be here right next to the ocean, and I think it’s a brilliant idea. One would usually expect the usual ice cream shop, dessert place, souvenir shop, etc, so this completely opens up a whole new audience to Seaport Village. The tasting room itself is pretty small and cozy, but the service was wonderful. I enjoyed hanging out here. The wines I tried were not bad, but they were nothing too special about them either. The priority here (at Seaport Village) is the ambiance and scenery anyway, right? I can see this as the perfect first stop to a lovely date at Seaport Village.

Beautiful atmosphere with wonderful wines. Very reasonably priced flights to try. Friendly knowledgable staff.

Google
I am visiting from Georgia and wanted San Pasqual Winery to be my first stop. Needless to say, they did not disappoint! Roland was so amazing! Very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I would come back just to visit Roland. The wine was also amazing with great views and atmosphere! First time in San Diego and couldn’t be happier! 🍷

Yelp
Walked by and had to try a wine slushie. Got the sangria slush with a bubbly top. It was very good! Sweet and refreshing. The two people working at the counter were friendly. They have a outdoor seating area to relax and enjoy your wine at.

Yelp
We had very pleasant break from our walk around Seaport Village, sitting outside on the patio. Counter staff was friendly and helpful but not that knowledgeable about the wine they were serving. We had the red tasting and pours were very generous. Malbec - surprising, pleasing finish. Merlot - fine but not our favorite grape in general. Cabernet Sav - we've spent too much time in Napa to enjoy this and did not finish it. We would certainly return but we'd get glasses instead of a tasting. We are also considering a visit to La Mesa, the primary winery.

Yelp
I was killing time in Seaport Village while my wife was attending a conference at the nearby Hyatt. What better way to relax and enjoy the day for an hour or two than sitting on a deck overlooking a marina along the embarcadero on a sunny day while sipping wine?! I walked in and was warmly greeted. I looked over a card that offered various tasting flight options. You could either enjoy one of these three glass flights or just have a single glass of your choice. I chose a flight featuring three reds: a 2017 Barbera, 2016 Teroldego, and a 2017 Petit Verdot. I mainly chose this grouping as I'd never had a Teroldego. There are a couple tables indoors but the place to be is outside either on the deck or on the patio area in front of the deck. Umbrellas provided some shade from the midday sun. There were a few other folks outside, all quietly enjoying the day except for a couple of giggly gal pals. I liked all the wines I tried from this winery. If I was the teacher of a wine class I would have given them all a solid B. Prices were very reasonable and by having a flight you can apply a certain amount toward buying a bottle. I would highly recommend a stop here to put a smile on your face for the rest of the day.

Yelp
This place is a cute little hole in the wall! You get a nice view of the ocean while drinking delicious wine! The person taking our order was very nice and took the time and went over the menu with us. I ordered the wine slushy and it was so delicious! It had the perfect amount of sweetness in it. It was perfect for the nice sunny day we experienced. I can't wait to go back again!

Yelp
A great spot with beautiful views in Seaport Village! Super easy to go inside and order a glass, bottle, or tasting. Some seating indoors, but mainly outside. Staff was friendly and poured the tasting for us. My friend and I enjoyed our views and sipped on some wines! I stuck with white as she did a white and some reds. Usually I am a red, but when it's hot I prefer white. I started out with the 2022 Albariño, and was not in love with it. Good to sip on but not something I would usually choose. A little to dry and a bitter crisp for me. The 2022 Riesling was nice and refreshing, not really sweet at all. It was pretty good! Lastly I ended with the 2022 Chardonnay. I don't like buttery or oaky Chardonnay and they offered to let me taste it before choosing it in my flight. Good thing they told me it isn't buttery or oaky or I would have never tried it. Very refreshing and crisp as well. A much lighter Chardonnay than usual.

Yelp
This is a cute little tasting room that's right on the harbor. We had a nice table outside and enjoyed people...Oh and dog watching. My husband ordered the mango margarita which came frozen. It was a delicious blend of their wines and mango purée. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Delta flight, which was perfect for any red wine fan. The service was fantastic. They had a small variety of cheese/snacks but also allowed us to grab tacos from a nearby restaurant to company our wine.

Chuck J.

Yelp
The wine is great! And it's such a nice spot to sit and relax and watch the harbor and the people go by.
google avatar

Quan D.

Yelp
It's a nice location overlooking the Marina with a view of The Shell, with a decent variety of wine to choose from. A nice spot to sit back and relax and take in the sites for a moment. The wines were ok, not particularly memorable, and decently priced considering the high tourist traffic location. Seating is small, but not particularly limited. Great for a smaller group, wouldn't recommend more than 4. Service was ok, they'll pour you the wines but not much else. Overall, nice place to just kick back and people watch for a moment.
google avatar

Yelp
Not the most aesthetic spot but it is conveniently in Seaport. The wine flights were a nice way to sample various wines and I enjoyed that there was a wide variety.

Yelp
Nice spot on the waterfront, ordered 2 flights and a dessert wine. Inexpensive, friendly staff, great location from our hotel Hyatt Manchester. Side benefit if you stay at the Hyatt you get a discount on your flight. Will return just because anything related to wine for us is good.
google avatar

Yelp
A quaint little locally owned tasting room in Seaport Village. Get a bottle to share or a flight of 3. They allow you to bring your own food to accompany their wine. Plenty of seating outside with a beautiful view of the bay. The staff is professional and knowledgeable. Worth stopping.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a quaint, unassuming tasting room in Seaport Village, directly behind the Grand Hyatt Manchester. They have a variety of flight options, which include 3x 2-ish oz pours for around $18 per flight, up to $10 of which can be applied to any bottle purchase. Being from Northern California, I am less familiar with the wine-growing regions south of Santa Barbara and its name, I assumed the wines would be made at least within the South Coast region, if not the San Pasqual Valley region for which I assume the winery was named. Unfortunately, while some of the grapes are sourced from the South Coast region, they're also sourcing grapes as far north as Clarksburg, located about 15 miles south of Sacramento. I was really surprised to see Teroldego, which is a red varietal from the north of Italy (Trentino-Alto Adige region), where it's quite cool in comparison to many of the wine-growing regions in most of California. The flight I had included Tempranillo, Teroldego, and Cabernet, all sourced from Clarksburg. What I appreciated about all 3 wines was the restraint - it's very easy to get into 15-16% ABV range from warmer climates in California, of which I'd somewhat associate Clarksburg, but all of the ABVs were in the 13-13.5% range. The wines were not over-extracted and still had excellent acidity and freshness. The oak, while definitely present in the wine, was reasonably well-integrated. All 3 wines were good, easy-drinking wines. This review isn't based on the wine, though -- everyone has a different palate and some may love the wines more, while others a bit less. It's a fun, unpretentious tasting room and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. If you're walking around Seaport Village and need a place to duck out of the sun for a bit to enjoy some wine, stop by San Pasqual Winery and try some Teroldego!

Yelp
San Pasqual Winery is the perfect little spot in the waterfront to people watch and sip some delicious wine! During my week in San Diego I probably visited this little spot 3-4 times. I loved how this place felt more cozy and it was tucked away from all the main shops at Seaport Village. Each time I visited I had someone new helping me, but each one of them was just super nice and helpful. You can do a tasting flight or a bottle. I highly recommend their flight of award winning wines. All their wines are made in San Diego and source their ingredients from farmers in the area. They also have other locations around the city in case you want to explore a different place. I am most definitely going to be coming back during my next trip to San Diego!

Yelp
Nice place to enjoy some wine, I actually preferred their frozen mango concoction. Good for people watching and the view.

Yelp
I've walked by this place the last few weekends I've been at Seaport Village. It's always looked so crowded in the past so I've never went in. Today I went to Seaport Village around 4pm on a Friday and there was only 1-2 full tables so I was happy to go in and try out the winery! I've been eyeing the sign out front mentioning their froses so of course that's what I had to order. I didn't love the frose since it was a little too tart for me. I didn't like it enough to finish my glass, but I can imagine it's a very nice drink to have on a warm day! My boyfriend asked what was the most popular wine they sell. The answer was passion fruit habanero so that's what he ordered! It definitely had a habanero taste! He liked his glass since it was unique and refreshing. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the winery. And especially enjoyed the cute outdoor seating area with views of the water and people watching.

Yelp
I really wanted to like it here, and maybe I'm just picky but I left here pretty disappointed. I'm usually not to picky about the wine I drink but of the two tastings I only found two wines I enjoyed. The atmosphere was cute but not incredible as it's tucked back from the water a bit. The customer service was great, very friendly and helpful, but I'm unlikely to return.

Yelp
Accidentally walked up on this place while walking around the harbor. So glad I ran into it. Affordable wine tasting with an amazing view. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The wine was so good. My friend and I decided to go with the sweet float. I wish I would have purchased a few bottles but I had no room in my checked bag. Definitely a great place to visit for a cute date night with a great view by the harbor.

Yelp
i'm on the email list and have heard of these guys for years...so when we walked past it i had to stop in for a glass. i ordered a glass of sparkling (and asked for it in a wine glass so i wouldn't spill)...i guess that's not a usual request b/c she looked confused but was more than happy to accomodate my request. the sparkling wine was nice and we enjoyed it on the patio with a great view. i wish there were heat lamps because it was starting to get chilly outside. maybe i'll do a tasting here next time to try more of their wines.

Yelp
First time here and it's such a find on our walk along marina..never had a sangria but tried fiances and had to get my own..yes I am using the straw..lol..but great little spot for wine and people watching. And shout out to Mara who helped us.

Yelp
Very nice place. Has a few places to sit outside as well as inside has a nice view. Wines were enjoyable. The price is reasonable. We were helped right away and we enjoyed our stay

Yelp
Super cute spot in seaport village! I recommend doing one of their $18 wine tastings, you get three different tastings. I was recommended by a local to try the summer vine tasting and it did not disappoint. They have tables outside and a view of the water which was nice! All the staff was super helpful and friendly, highly recommend if you find yourself in seaport.

Yelp
Amazing spot very much appreciated sampling the Habanero Wine the ladies at the counter were super friendly and knowledgeable on the menu
google avatar

Yelp
Be careful folks, they don't offer table service Yikes! Their pleasant staff can direct you to better places.

Yelp
Good wine, no snacks or food to pair. Limited seating the place was very small, but we enjoyed the $18 flights.

Yelp
I'm not much of a wine drinker but a Yelp event brought me into San Pasqual Winery for a free tasting which made me realize this was a gem located inside Seaport Village. Brian was an awesome host which showed in his enthusiam and love of wine when explaining the wine he was pouring for us to taste! Some of my favorites from the tasting were the 2017 Pinot Gris and 2016 Tempranillo. Ultimately, my favorite was the Summer Vine "Habanero" Passionfruit wine which was sweet and refreshing with a nice kick at the end! It was good enough for me to buy a bottle for myself and give as a gift to my coworker.

Yelp
I love this small and cute wine tasting room in beautiful seaport village. It never goes wrong to end your seaport Village visit with a lovely wine tasting. I love they curate the wines from unique and delicious local wineries. The wine flight I chose is called All Star San Diego, it includes one while one rose and one red. White is Chardonnay which is very light and fresh. The rose is very special, I will say it's more like a fruity & floral type to me, kind of medium body. And my favorite is the 2015 Cab, it is bold, dry and long lasting. Cute spot and I'll go back for sure and hopefully with my friends together.

Yelp
Stopped by here since it was raining and was wondering what else there was to do in SD. Midway plans was ruined from the rain but that's okay! Found a little spot to enjoy some wine. I had no idea SD had vineyards! There are no grapes at seaport, just a little hut that sells wine...made from grapes that are locally grown in SD. Anyways, the wines here are on the fruitier side since they "blend them". You know blend diff types of fruits like raspberries and passion fruit. Not a wine connoisseur so read at your own risk hehe. I did the standard 1oz flight which is basically pick 5 types of wine for $12 bucks. Not bad but I'd recommend the 2oz pours (the more the merrier). Of the wines I tasted, the "summer vine habanero passionfruit" was the winner. It was fruity and had a spicy finish. I could taste the habanero! It felt like eating a taco with some spicy salsa and then gulping down some refreshing juice. I know it sounds weird but it was unique. This is a cute place to stop by when around the seaport area. Also, a great pit stop before heading back upward towards Gaslamp.

Yelp
Cute little winery right in seaport village! I stopped here for an OYE on 12/20/19. I ended up getting three tastings of wine. Each was absolutely amazing! First I ordered the 2016 Tempranillo taster. It was smooth and delicious! Second taster was the 2016 Cabernet. It was equally smooth and wonderful. The third taster I enjoyed, was the ever popular Habanero. I was not sure what I would think of this one, but wow, I'm certainly glad I tried it! It wasn't overwhelming spicy, it had the perfect amount of kick but still a sweet finish. I would totally recommend this cute little winery. They have a beautiful view of the bay, and a couple of outdoor tables to enjoy the view. They also have a small bar area to order your wine. I'll be back here...and if not at this location, I'll go to their main location which is located in La Mesa.

Yelp
Was so excited when we stumbled upon this wine tasting spot while wandering through Seaport Village, but had a pretty unimpressive experience. My husband I shared the deluxe flight - so you get five wines of your choice at 2 oz pours each. With it, you get to take a glass home and you get a $5 off discount off one of their wine bottles. We tried one white, three reds, and one passionfruit wine. Four of the wines were recommended by them. Our favorite was the white viognier wine, and we actually bought a bottle to take home... but we didn't love any of the reds. The passionfruit wines were good too. Our server wasn't the friendliest, and didn't really go into detail about any of our wines beyond what was already stated on the menu.
google avatar

Misty M.

Yelp
Such a cute lil spot, omg the champagne flight do it! Right outside is where they had a live band playing. The Citron is amazing had to take a bottle home the peach is soo good (especially if you don't like the alcohol taste this is the one to go for you) The Summer vine Blanc passion fruit wine omg must try! And price is great, you also get a discount on a bottle if you order the flight!
google avatar

Aarti B.

Yelp
So glad I stopped by and tried the passion fruit wine. The menu is extensive and a bit overwhelming, so I got the standard tasting of 5 and customized flight of passion fruit wines and dessert wines (sherry and slushies). The staff is really friendly and chill with customizing flights not featured on the menu. The Rosselle was my favorite passionfruit wine. The Grenache Sherry wine was so delicious that I bought a bottle! I really enjoyed the "Pretty in Pink Passion Fruit Mimosa". The Brut champagne cut through some of the sweetness of the Rosselle passion fruit wine. I prefer the bubbly passion flutes and mimosas over the sickly sweet slushies. If you don't like fruity wine, don't worry - there's a large selection of red and white wine too! Great stop to sample some unique wine with nice outdoor seating to soak up the spectacular views of the water.
google avatar

Linda D.

Yelp
I really like their La Mesa location. My first time at this location at Seaport Village. I love the Passionfruit Habanero wine from here! (Yoi cam buy it at both locations) I had top notch customer service from Kristin. She was knowledgeable and making good recommendations. I had two different wines one was the passionfruit habanero the.other was a blanc. Each was tasty. I want to come back and try their frozen sangria. Sounds yummy to me. This locations has some indoor and outdoor seating available. I was excited to hear that they might expand the.size.of the Seaport Village location. Pricing was fair. I left with a bottle of wine tonl take home and it was less than $20.
google avatar

Yelp
We were walking around Seaport Village and stumbled upon this place. My GF was REALLY excited because they have passion fruit wine. Yes, that's a thing and from what they said they are only the second place to produce passion fruit wine (the other one is in Maui). We got their $10 tasting which was 5 1oz pours. The worker was super friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were to my GF liking and we ended up buying two bottles.
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
I was roaming around in the Seaport Village area and started to get a little thirsty and stumbled across this winery. I seem to never be able to pass up one, so I stopped in for a drink! Seemed like a better deal ticket a glass rather than one or two ounce flights. The lady working was really nice and helped me with selecting the perfect wine to drink, as I as very happy with my selection! They get their grapes from all over California, not just in this region, so a nice variety to make an array of wines. There Chardonnay was to die for... I'm not into the Oaky and buttery taste, which is the main reason I stay away from Chardonnay. However they use stainless steel barrels and the taste is crisp and refreshing with slight hints of fruit! They have a little storefront where you can purchase their wine and a little wine gadgets! Very refreshing and a nice pitstop along the harbor/marina!
google avatar

Pamela M.

Yelp
Really cute little work winery behind the Hyatt and Marriott hotels. It's a small place, the wines were varied and there are a few sweet options for those who aren't serious wine drinkers. I tried a five tasting sampler for $10 & I liked the Sauvignon Blanc best. My second favorite was the Viognier. I was in the mood for white so only tasted one red that was extremely dry (but I tend to go for the drier wines). Definitely recommend checking it out! The little store also sells a few wine accessory items. I purchased a pack of markers that can be used to mark your glass at a party but are supposed to easily come off when washed.
google avatar

Yvi C.

Yelp
This beautiful little winery is tucked away along the marina. They have wonderful slushees and a bountiful wine selection. I accidentally left my card here. They were so sweet and kept it safe until I could return.
google avatar

Yelp
I came into this joint during an OYE event. I was so excited to see a wine spot so close to me! I had the Tempranillo & finished with a yummy passionfruit taster! The best part with Kristen. She was personable and easy-going on a cold Friday evening. I would suggest stopping in if you're in the area. The wine is made locally and tastes fantastic.

Yelp
Great spot when you need to have wine tasting on the Bayfront. The wine was good and the scenery is relaxing and chill with breezes

Yelp
Oh wow, just when ya thought things wouldn't work Crush a chocolate chip cookie for a martini rim, then half habanero passion fruit wine and half vodka You're welcome!!!

Yelp
First time here with my fiancee' and her sorority sister. The girls wanted to check out a wine spot and this was the closest one that they had from Eddie V's. A small little quaint tasting room but with a nice patio view of the harbor. Very friendly and knowledgeable service For $20 you get 5 tastings and you get to keep the nice wine glass. my pallet is more on the tart side. Their whites are okay but the fruit wines are a must try; especially their habanero fruit infused wine double award winner. When in the area i would definitely remember to come back and buy a bottle.

Yelp
My husband and I met up with my daughter and son in law at Seaport Village and while wondering through the village I saw this establishment. We decided (my daughter and me) to do a tasting. The men folk came along for the ride. The shop was clean and welcoming so we stepped right in and up to the counter to begin our tasting. The clerk greeted us with a smile and gave the needed information for the tasting. For $10.00 you get 5 tastes from a wine list selection she provided us. Or a deluxe tasting for $20.00 5 double tastes and an 18 1/2 oz souvenir glass. With each tasting they offer $5.00 off a bottle purchase. It was suggested to start with the white wines, reds, passion fruit, and then dessert wines if you were going to taste from each category. The clerk gave us brief information about each wine and answered any questions that we had. The outside seating was comfortable, beautiful view overall a fun relaxing experience. My favorite wine from this tasting was the Tawny Port a dessert wine. It was smooth, with robust flavors which included hazelnut, chocolate and raisins (according to the wine list "think raisinets but with a kick") $20.00 a bottle.

Malia P.

Yelp
Perfect for a fun date night experience. Come and grab some tasters. I liked their spicy passionfruit wine. It was tropical with a tiny kick. It's a tiny shop with a cozy vibe. I will come back for sure. Service was warm and welcoming.

Yelp
Cute little wine tasting room with a fabulous view and great for people watching. Easy to walk to downtown and plenty of dining options around it. The owners are very nice and knowledgeable about their wines. They have lots of great options between reds, whites, and sparkling, and fair price points for tasting. They also have frosé which seems to sell out! It gets busy so they could use some more seating in peak hours since it gets packed and seating is hard to come by. Had a very good experience and would definitely come back and sample more wines and support this local wine tasting room.
google avatar

Yelp
Location! Location! Location! Wow, what a nice place to sit and have wine. It is a fabulous place to people watch and the service was exceptional! Plus, you get to keep the glasses when you pay for a tasting. Great place and is dog friendly! They even were happy to give my puppy some water.

Yelp
Great wine, friendly staff, and beautiful patio! We came here on 4th of July weekend and it was very relaxing.

Yelp
This is by all means a wonderful little spot that's worth your time to visit if you make it to Seaport Village. My recommendation is to ask for their recommendation. Sounds rhetorical but the employees are passionate about their wine and can give you a great idea of what to try. The sampler is a great move because you can narrow your own taste from a fairly broad range of selections. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. How can you ever go wrong when wine is involved? I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Dana U.

Yelp
Is it possible to give 0 stars? Went in today for 2 glasses of wine and there were at least 5-6 white unknown floating particles in each glass. When I asked for a re-pour the man working today at unprofessionally told me he could not re-pour the drinks. Instead he poured two glasses of the wine for himself to drink to prove to me that the wine all taste the same. After drinking each of the glasses of wine he said it "tasted fine". Highly unprofessional and absolutely ghetto.
