Lots of beer selections! The service and food were pretty good, the patty melt was tasty and the meat was cooked well-juicy! Fries and onion rings were a bit on the salty side.

Stumbled on this place on google and we decided to give it a try. It took a while to get our order and food but it was over all a good experience. The food good was great!! We ordered the Hickory Burger and the Ortega Burger. They were really good! I recommend this place

Came here with my family while on vacation. 330 on a Friday, still on our local time, so an early dinner. We were sat immediately but our waitress offered to move us to a cooler spot in the dining room when she came to take our drink order. It was unseasonably warm and our first seat was near the patio door, so we appreciated then cooler option and took her up on it. The restaurant has an old pub feel, with a prominent bar and brewing equipment visible in the back. Definitely a nice vibe. Our waitress was really nice. I actually got the wrong beer at first and didn't notice till I ordered another ... The waitress realized she'd gotten me the wrong one and comped it, which was really nice since I actually enjoyed it and finished it. We ordered some loaded fries for the table and they were great. Cheese, bacon, green onions ... Pretty standard but well executed. we finished the whole thing. I got the Cajun meatloaf and it was a massive plate. 3 big slabs, I couldn't come closer to finishing it. The table also had the tuna melt, BBQ burger, and rib tip salad. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The meatloaf had an interesting flavor, mostly standard but with a cumin-y kick. The gravy came separate in a little bowl and I should have asked for more because it was a tad dry. But definitely tasty. The veggies were solid too. I had the hefeweizen and blood orange beers, and enjoyed both. Overall it was a nice experience, I'd definitely visit again.

Google
We stopped in for lunch to try out their beers. There are 20 on tap and dozens more in cans and bottles. We decided to eat while we were there and glad we did. I had the oriental chicken salad but substituted fresh tuna. I loved it, and the tuna was fresh with absolutely no odor. My had sliders and liked them. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is sports bar with lots of TV's.

Google
Food was good. We went late so we had to make sure our order was put in before 9pm. Outdoor dining at that time was pleasant and not crowded. The service was excellent and very accommodating. I’d return.

Google
Easy to find as a tourist. Got in and we were seated immediately. Our server was very welcoming but very rushed. There were 2 hazy beers. I think it’s good to let people know so as to make a choice. The food was great. It’s a recommendable brewery.

Google
First time visit for the lunch yesterday (Sunday). We had the swordfish sandwich (split into two) that was recommended by many reviewers, and chicken tortilla soup in a cup, and of course their brewed beer, Oktoberfest. The sandwich and soup were tasty and I loved the beer. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very cozy. The free Sunday street parking was nice too.

Google
The good was good, the service was GREAT and the place did have a weird (unidentifiable), but off putting smell. The soft drinks were big. The food was typical brewery/bar and grill food.

Yelp
Relatively good food! The pulled pork was really flavorful and moist, the slaw was good. I found the mac and cheese to be a little under-seasoned. The spiked lemonade (specific drink name is escaping me) was pretty good, mostly just tasted of lemonade. It was loud in the restaurant when we were there at about 6 pm on a Saturday. The TVs were playing sports loudly which was quite distracting, but a perk if that's why you're eating there! Service was good, the staff were all very friendly.

Yelp
Not really a brewery. Not brewery in sight, but a few taps. California prices. Friendly employees We did not eat there

Yelp
I walked in, and the hostess was friendly, seating me at the bar. It was Whiskey Wednesday, and I ordered chicken fried steak, which came with creamed corn, garlic bread, and mashed potatoes, along with clam chowder soup or a salad. I opted for the clam chowder, and for my drink, I had a California slammer. The California slammer was enjoyable and paired well with the meal--not overly sweet and just the right amount of alcohol. The clam chowder was rich and creamy, bursting with flavor. Typically, I'm not a fan of creamed corn, but I decided to give it a shot, and it turned out to be quite tasty. I'm not sure I'd order it intentionally again, but if you enjoy creamed corn, it's definitely worth a try. The garlic bread and mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious. Both were wonderfully garlicky and buttery; I would wholeheartedly recommend them. And then there was the chicken fried steak with gravy... Oh my goodness, it was fantastic. Perfectly seasoned, packed with flavor, and just incredibly tasty. I can hardly find the words to express how good it was. They had music playing and sports games on several TVs at the bar, creating a really enjoyable atmosphere. The music was at a nice volume--not too loud, but just enough to appreciate. The people around me were very friendly, and the staff was accommodating, always checking in to make sure I was okay, even though I'm not particularly social or chatty. I'm only in town for a few days for work, but I will definitely try to return and sample more items if I can. I would absolutely recommend this place. I'm not sure about parking since my hotel was just a short walk away. I wanted to try the bread pudding but unfortunately forgot... though I'm not sure I could have eaten it anyway, as I was quite full. Two pretty good/strong drinks and the chicken fried steak came to about $37. That's really not bad considering how delicious everything was.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere, food is really good nothing like bar food . It taste like they have a good chef in the back & they have amazing Mac n cheese , ahí tuna as an appetizer & pasta that taste so fresh you'd think you were in Italian restaurant. they have really good beer as well , I'm not a beer drinker but they have a full service bar also

Yelp
After disembarking from our Process Cruise, we headed to this spot to kill some time before leaving for the airport. It is about a 13-15 minute walk from Birth 92. It also was open at 11:30 which made it convenient. Nice outdoor eating area. Good size menu of food to choose from. Prices for food typically in the $18-$20 range. We had the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and the tri-tip sandwich. Both sandwiches were tasty and good portioned. I am 6'1 and 200 and the pulled pork filled me up nicely. The beer was okay and runs $8 a glass. Decent beer selection to choose from and the wait staff was extremely friendly. Be sure to keep your receipt and head around the corner to the affiliated Port Brewing company which is about 5 minutes away and gives you a 10% discount with receipt. No food there however but beer is good.

Yelp
Cute little place with great history and awesome local brews! Shanghai red is a must try, one of my favorites.

Christian L.

Yelp
Check this place out! Sadly lost one of our favorite breweries but quickly found a new favorite spot. Awesome environment to have a casual hangout with friends or family, hostess was friendly and welcoming, and our server nick, awesome dude, he was busy, stayed polite and on point with taking care of his tables. Keep it up SPBC peeps
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
Started with the Buffalo Wings which fell short if expectations. Thought they were deep fried crispy but got what I got. Perhaps baked and soggy was more accurate. Fish and Chips were a different story! Beer Battered Cod (perfect) was fresh and hot. Fries lightly seasoned and fresh from the fryer. Add on some Malt Vinegar and you've got a meal for two! Was four filets, heap of fries, small slaw and done dipping sauces! Do it for the SPBC glory!

Yelp
I've never been here, so I stopped in with a friend one evening. It was early maybe 5:15, and there was only a small crowd, but the waiter (Robert?) was super-efficient and friendly. It's a beer joint, so there is no wine list as such, and I wasn't familiar with their house wines, so I ordered a whiskey based "California Slammer", which was fruity but not too sweet and good fun. We tried the chicken gnocchi soup, which was really hearty and had the Chinese chicken salad and a patty melt which were both generous and really good! They serve the patty melt on sourdough, but they have rye bread if you would prefer. Also, they set raw onions on the side, but I imagine you could request grilled. Our waiter was super attentive through the evening, and so pleasant and easy-going. Our only complaint was the music. When we arrived, they were playing sort of hard rock music (not my taste) but it was just background music, and we were able to make conversation. About halfway through our meal when more diners arrived, they pumped up the music, and it was impossible to continue polite conversation.

Yelp
Great food, loved my Shanghai Red and coming back to try the other house drafts too. Service is exceptional and the atmosphere is very loud. Which isn't a bad thing! Means it's popular

Yelp
$20 burgers that taste worse than most fast food chains. Dry tri tip as well for $35. Save your money

Yelp
I've been on a mission to drink beer at every brewery in LA county. However, this brewery has been able to not be on any lists of breweries. I only knew it was there because I've seen it in passing but I had my doubts whether they were a real brewery or not. So I was pleased to see that they brew their own stuff. So I finally got a chance to visit this place and it was full on a Saturday afternoon. This place is restaurant first, brewery second. And they have way too many guest beers and a small list of house brews. The food here smells good but I didn't order any as I was just here for the beer. We got a table and waited, and waited, and waited. They were severely understaffed. I ordered my beer and proceeded to wait some more. It was about 25 minutes from the time I was seated til the time I got my beer. Completely unacceptable. I don't know what the staffing situation is but it appeared to be just one waitress for the entire establishment and the hostess was even helping out. I couldn't believe it. The bartender was very busy with orders, I could hear and see him making cocktails. I ordered the Harbor Hefeweizen and it was good. No complaints on the beer. The waitress did fantastic work in trying to do all the work herself but this establishment should be ashamed for being short on staff. What a monumental waste of my time. I will never come back here again.
google avatar

Angelina H.

Yelp
I've only been in here a handful of times in the past but I have to say I'm fairly surprised in my recent visit! I came in for some celebratory cocktails & we only got an appetizer to share. We went during lunch hour it's not too busy or chaotic, the food is good, & I loved the service! I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a lowkey spot to enjoy yourself! & I definitely see myself coming back for another chill lunch! -- my only complaint would be the odd smell when you first walk in, almost like a bathroom smell, but it's not noticeable when you sit down & eat!
google avatar

Yelp
Came in and sat on a barstool for 15 minutes. Was never once greeted, was never once offered a menu. Made eye contact with the hostess three times. Absolute worst service I have ever dealt with. I won't be back.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here after our PV hike. Casually atmosphere with good food! I had the chicken tortilla soup and try tip sandwich. My husband has the burger and onion rings. It was not greasy and so good. We enjoyed a beer and margarita as well! They even put tajin on my margarita. Yum! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Food and service was mediocre at best. This place was great but has gone down hill over the years.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place! Nice location and all around really enjoyable stay. Great food and drinks with a nice paced service too.
google avatar

Yelp
Good spot for some drinks in the area. Food is decent bar food but not the best quality if you're super hungry. Service can be slow at times but its location is great for after fishing.
google avatar

Kristyn W.

Yelp
After contemplating leaving an extensive play-by-play of our experience here this evening I've decided not to. Too many areas that needed improving and this was solely in the service department. Our server Isabel needs to be retrained or fired. Pick one. We had more help from her co-workers which STILL lacked in the service area but not nearly as bad as her. If you want to have five different people wait on you because your server is completely and utterly incapable of handling a party of two then this is your go-to place. What sucked even more was the fact it wasn't busy, had to walk to the bar for another round, she was socializing like it was her primary reason for showing up today... list goes on. I hope the owner sees this and addresses the issue(s) accordingly. On the other hand food was great as usual and I will be back but sit at the bar for more attentive service as that's where we normally sit and have never had a problem. Cheers and GOOD LUCK w Isabel.

Yelp
Let me start by saying Bartender Victoria . Introduced me to different beers. The staff the food was on point. Manager George and his crew know everything about Hospitality. Loved ever about having a good experience. I am coming back again

Yelp
Good food, great selection of beers and good service. Plenty of screens if you like sports as well

Yelp
Awesome place, awesome staff 10 outta 10 recommend! The drinks are fairly priced and super good.

Yelp
We arrived shortly after opening. There was only one person at the bar and two couples out at the curbside tables. We had intended to have multiple beers and order lunch. That quickly changed upon entering, not a friendly environment. We would have sat at the bar, but we quickly bought two beers and walked outside to sit at a table away from the staff. The location is good, the decor was great, the tap choices were great, and the beer was super cold. But ughhh on service. The best thing was we quickly searched breweries and found Burning Daylight just a short distance away in Lomita as we were heading north towards our hotel. I am assuming locals enjoy this place. I hope we just walked in on people who were having a bad day.

Yelp
I was visiting the San Pedro area and needed a quick bite for lunch. After checking local eating places, the Brewery seemed to fit the bill. I went on a Friday afternoon and parking was limited. I ended up parking a few blocks away, but it was a easy walk to the restaurant. The brewery has a cool old school bar vibe and was packed. Many folks seemed to know each other so I assume it's a locals favorite. We were sat very quickly and our drink order was taken promptly. They have a large selection of beers and I chose a red. Which was fantastic. I ordered the Southwest Chicken sandwich and the Gaffey fries. The chicken breast in the sandwich was each and cooked perfectly. The Gaffey fries are covered with two kinds of cheese, bacon, and green onions. They were well worth the extra money. My friend had the Soup, salad & sandwich combo. Which he really enjoyed. The portions were large and very filling. The service was friendly and professional. The server checked on us often without being burdensome. Overall, it was a great meal.

Yelp
I saw this guy I follow on Instagram eating here and so I bookmarked it and decided I'd come in here when I'm San Pedro . We finally came down to old San Pedro and as soon as I walked in I knew this was my kind of place , old with a great atmosphere, great ambience, felt right at home before I even tried the food. Our server Nick was excellent, super friendly and helped us with the menu, food came out super fast, we had the wings , bruschetta, and mozzarella sticks which were all good, the mozzarella sticks were super good and we all love bruschetta. I had the salmon which was perfect, the potatoes with it were perfectly seasoned . I washed this down with a blonde draft which was nice and cold . I will definitely come back in here, I'm glad I found a place like this, I love you San Pedro brewing co

Yelp
For what it's worth the food is good. I came here once a long time ago and never came back because everything my boyfriends and I ordered came out missing ingredients or completely wrong. They were apologetic and comped are food for us but we were definitely annoyed by the whole experience and never came back. We eat out a lot and have gotten tired of eating at the same restaurants over and over again so I decided to order DoorDash and give this place a second chance. And low and behold they gave the wrong thing again! I'm wondering if this a common problem or I'm just unlucky. I ordered the ahi tuna sandwhich with a side of fruit and I got tuna with noodles and coleslaw. DoorDash gave me my money back and the food is tasty but not what I wanted.
google avatar

Yelp
Burgers here at pretty enjoyable as well as many of their items. I have enjoyed their quesadillas plate, the large pretzel appetizer, and drinks nice place to ride a bike to, park, have a relaxing casual dinner date with/the hubby, then ride a few miles home. Staff is very pleasant and always keeps your tea, water, soda glass filled.

Yelp
I'm surprised to hear this place got such low stars. I only stopped here because my husband is a beer guy, so I wasn't really expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised with the service and food. We picked this spot because it was walking distance to our hotel and we had an evening to kill before our cruise the next morning. When we got in there was some sort of game on TV with a small crowd watching who were pretty loud. Luckily there was outside seating. It was a little bit cold out but with the heaters on it was quite pleasant, and I couldn't hear the rowdy people inside either - WIN! When it came time to order our food, I wasn't too hungry so I just had a Chicken Noodle soup. I asked if they could do lots of chicken and little noodles, with the understanding that it might not be possible. The waiter said he would see what he could do. I also got a salad. I was expecting something generic with my food but I was really impressed. The soup was almost entirely chicken, it was homemade, and very tasty. The salad was also very good too. And as far as the beer, my husband was satisfied on that front. I'd highly recommend this place even if you weren't a beer drinker. Service was great, food was better than I expected, and there is even outside seating if inside is too noisy.

Yelp
Mom and I went here because of their varied menu and reasonable prices. We were not disappointed. We were waited on in a timely manner and the wait staff was very nice. I had their house Hefeweizen beer which came served with an orange wedge, as it should. It was tasty and hit the spot. Mom had the ahi steak for dinner and I had the flat iron steak. Both were perfectly cooked and piping hot. I would come back, I want to try the swordfish or ribs next.

Yelp
I'm sitting here in the patio as I'm writing this review. Sat 11/9/24. Older lady not sure if she is the owner came out and took my order. Wings and a sprite. That was at 4:45pm. It is now 5:30pm. And yet to receive my order. Waitress came out to patio and saw me. Did not acknowledge me at all. Hate to say but this is sad being in my home town. And the place is not crowded. Staff is no good.

Yelp
WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Walked in & sat at the bar. Waited for someone to help us. NOT 1 person greeted us nor even acknowledged us. The bartender Amanda walked straight up to the gentleman that was standing near us & asked him if she could help him. He looked at her & asked her if we had already been taken care of & she said "oh yeah" without even looking at us. So I said "we haven't been helped at all. I jist sat here 2 mins ago". The gentleman apologized to me & I told him it wasn't his fault, apparently she didn't want to serve us. When the gentleman saw us get up to walk out, he asked me again if she even bothered to help us. I said no she didn't but that's ok. George, PLEASE have her go to God Mother's & Brouwerijwest where the service is ALWAYS on point so she can learn how to treat customers the Right Way!! I'll NEVER return to this place! And ro think we were looking at having our party of 30 go here. SO glad I didn't embarrass myself with thus crappy service!!

Yelp
Really surprised this place doesn't have more stars. My wife and I stopped here the night before a cruise and I'm really glad we did. It was an easy walk from the Crowne Plaza hotel. We opted for outdoor seating since it was a little loud inside (bar crowd watching the game). It was a little cold outside but the heaters helped. The food was tasty and flavorful, but the most impressive part was the service. We made a lot of special requests (especially for a weeknight an hour before close). The server was super patient and accommodating. For instance, my wife wanted the chicken noodle soup but with not a lot of noodles and they 100% delivered. We wanted the short rib fries with the parmesan on the side - no problem. Add that to a lot of questions (in fairness to us, it is a pretty expansive menu). But yeah, that makes a huge difference every time. As to the food, the soup was really good - tasted homemade. The fries were delicious with the truffle oil and the arugula on top. Lastly, the Greek salad was pretty solid. I liked the calamari, but really glad we added on the ahi tuna - was really fresh and flavorful. Of course, I also tried a flight of beers. some were better than others, but none were bad. My palate was pretty blown with all the other foods, so I was starting to confuse them after a while, to be fair. Still, props to the server (again) for letting me do a taste of one of the beers that wasn't in the flight. If you're cruising out of here, do yourself a favor and head in the night before, so you can give this place a try like I did. I don't think you'll regret it.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner on a busy Sunday evening. The place was packed due to a Halloween event. We were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and got us drinks right away. Ordered a cold beer with a pretzel to start. Both were a hit. Especially the pretzel.Unfortunately the food took forever. We tried to cancel our order but she convinced us it was almost out. Sure enough the food arrived a few minutes after. My daughter got a side of Mac n cheese which she enjoyed. I tried their cod fish n chips. Well cooked and seasoned. Also ordered a patty melt. I requested it well done but unfortunately it was still pink. Either way I still ate it. I would like to come back and try other items.

Yelp
We went here last night during happy hour/dinner. Wanted to watch Thursday night football which was shown on many TVs! Beer and food were good. We had salads and sandwiches - all tasty! Waitress was awesome and staff attentive. Great night! Thank you!

Yelp
This has been a long time local hangout for us after work. It's one of the local gems in town, great customer service, wonderful food and drinks. We absolutely adore the staff, they are very friendly and fun to be around. You can't go wrong with the Brew Co! Try the nachos, the Gaffey fries or anything else, you can't go wrong.
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Came with my coworkers after a tour of the Port of LA. I ordered the Calamari Salad with a side of Ahi Tuna. The tuna was great, the calamari was also delicious.
google avatar

Scott K.

Yelp
Go here if you like terrible service, and a rude staff that will ignore you while they socialize amongst themselves. The Ambiance is screaming people, pretty much. The food is average.
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
Best calamari we have ever had!! Better than San Francisco, the service was incredible our waitress was awesome. It was Memorial Day weekend so we were lucky enough to get some 6 dollar margs! Amazing deal and soooo fast. We got our drinks in a blink and the app before we even took a sip haha. Love the place and the old signs and vibe are super cool we will definitely be back.
google avatar

Kenny M.

Yelp
Long time customer for sure but if i'm being totally honest, the food quality is going downhill. I want so much to support this business as i've been coming here since the early 90's under a different name (even have my name up on the "Hall of Foam"). Quality is not where it needs to be. The menu needs some investment and it needs to be mixed up in an effort to draw more attention. Drinks are good, beer is good but it's time for the food to be kicked up a few notches.

Marlene D.

Yelp
Service walking in with my daughter I felt like no one acknowledged us and assumed we knew where to sit and it was our first time here. Outdoor eating area smelled like pee I felt the server could've told us about the happy hour menu or offered it since we were new here and I told her and would've been nice if she would've showed me the happy hour menu as a courtesy I would've appreciated. But I know that not everyone has the great customer service energy. Food was good I had a chicken pineapple burger with teriyaki and my daughter had the hickory burger
google avatar

Yelp
We came for lunch. I ordered the combo. I got a delicious cup of chili. It was served piping hot with a serving of shredded cheese, and I mixed it together. I also got a nice green salad with Italian dressing. It came with a tri tip sandwich. Waitress Kelsey was very attentive and brought us drinks and refills. We sat outside in the shade.

Yelp
Well, after 5 years took another cruise out of L.A. Went back to S. P. Brewing Co to hopefully have another great meal and service. Met Tyler who was our waitress. She was a very pleasant woman who we told we were here 5 yrs. ago and "George" waited on us. Asked if he still was employed there and she laughed and said George was now the manager and was there that night! Not a surprise that George worked his way up. Good work sometimes pays off!! George came to our table like we were long lost relatives. Said he remembered the great review and bought us a beer :) Our meal was again wonderful, the brewery was nice and service from Tyler was outstanding. Another plus is it is 3 blocks away from Crowne Plaza Hotel. A shout out to Tyler and especially George for making us feel so welcome again. Your friends in Chicago can't say enough about the whole experience! If you get a chance to go there. You won't be disappointed. Hope to be back.

Yelp
Good food and drinks! Beers on tap! Check the list! Indoor and outdoor seating! Very nice staff

Katherine B.

Yelp
Came in for a couple beers and was quite disappointed. The staff were awesome and polite....But they had 4 out of the 15 beers on tap unavailable due to a tapped keg. The restroom was out of toilet paper and paper towels. Smells kind of like they don't mop with a clean mop. Idk. Just expected more out of a place calling themselves a brewery.

Yelp
Best place for food and a good time in San Pedro especially on 6th street, try the gaffey fries or garlic parm wings
google avatar

Brennon I.

Yelp
Great bar & grill! Friendly service, warm relaxed atmosphere. The chicken wings were on point and the beer was ice cold. What more could you ask for?
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Only came for drinks so cannot rate the food. It is more of a bar than a brewery vibe, bonus is they are one of the only places open a little later in the area. Ambiance is ok, a little divey. Service is good. Location is perfect!
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
I liked it. Loved it - hmm maybe not yet but love the local feel, nice staff and decent brew with a little food along the way. You want to wear shorts or jeans, grab a solid beer and chit chat over a great happy hour that starts at 2pm, then come here. You want to tour the shiny distillery and debate beer like it's wine --- then this isn't for you.

Yelp
Great service for our large party. Food was as expected. Generous portions of traditional pub fare.
