I wanted to explore someplace different with my dog. It's a lovely creek, but I don't recommend going by yourself. Unfortunately, there is a high homeless population in the area. I was surprised to not see many walkers along the creek, but I did see homeless people, and they probably have mental illness, God Bless them. I would have enjoyed it more if I had someone else with me. I had to be on high alert and not able to enjoy the creek as much as I would have liked to.

This is a complete Fav in our downtown area. The entire walk about is peaceful and meditative. The construction has nearly disappeared from the west end (Hwy 35) progressing easterly to downtown proper. Our City visionaries are doing wonders as are the contractors erecting those visions. This shows all over Our City & in Our Communities and what is more, we have opportunities to influence the visions and influence prioritization by participating in meetings of Our City Government. Photo postings at various times to follow. Enjoy them; they're Yours. Peace ✌️ Brian Bruce

This is one of San Antonio's newest public park and is by far one of the best! We walked to the beginning and to the end where the waterfall is at. They really did an excellent job with all the plants, trees, concrete work and the water areas. The whole family and your children will absolutely enjoy the views and the water splash area. If one is stressed out, I will tell you that just sitting or walking around will help. Life is definitely short, I recommend enjoying the free, natural and small things in life. Take my advice and go visit this park soon.

It was a nice little park. It's very relaxing and the history behind the site was interesting. There are stations you can stop at and read about how the site was/is significant to San Antonio. I'm not 100% sure if you are allowed to play in the water, but I did see people bathing in it.

Went for a morning jog while we were visiting San Antonio. The place was clean and cops/security were making sure the place’s safe for people.

This is a decent cultural park with art installations along the walk way and signage that talks about the history of San Antonio, and specifically, the neighborhoods around the San Pedro Creek. As of June 2018, only phase 1.1 has been completed (so it’s a pretty short walk right now), but it will extend further south in the coming years. Remember, this a CULTURAL park, so don’t drag the little ones out there expecting to find playgrounds, etc. It’s not in the usual touristy area, so it doesn’t get packed, and street parking isn’t terribly hard to find in this part of downtown. Make sure you stop by and check out the San Antonio Soap Works building on the banks of phase 1.1. It’s the oldest surviving industrial building in SA. It’s an apartment building office now, so you can’t go inside, but you can walk around the outside of it and check it out. There’s plenty of stuff to do nearby. Main Plaza, the Spanish Governor’s Palace, and the historic Bexar County court house are all within walking distance. Come on out and check out what the San Antonio River Authority and the City of San Antonio have put together for us! Oh, I almost forgot – you should check it out at night. I haven’t been there at night, but I have seen some awesome photos and I’m gonna have to check it out at night now. It looks really cool. #SA300 y’all!

This is a 4 phase project and already we are seeing wildlife return, native plants thriving, and it's being build with our San Antonio Heritage in mind. The San Antonio River Authority in partnership with others are designing to clean up (and keep it clean) our rivers while still keeping the mixture of our cultures, colors, and beauty in mind. There is no shade in this area at this time, so take a hat, umbrella, or both. There is so much to see and every year there will be new sights and wonders to visit. I am sharing just a glimpse.

Yelp
This review is based on Phase 1, the area from Quincy St. to Houston St., that opened on May 5, 2018. We visited San Pedro Creek Culture Park on a quiet spring morning. The park has walkways, water features, public art, poetry, murals, historical markers, benches, and other amenities. It's a great place to go for a walk and enjoy a unique space in downtown San Antonio. Very dog friendly. It will be fun to come back after dark and see the lighting design, especially at the waterfall by the diversion tunnel. I hope the "culture park" aspect means there will be lots of fun evnts and activities.

Yelp
River City! This is San Antonio's latest river park opening! This linear park follows San Pedro Creek. The park starts off from a metal structure where the water comes pouring down like a big waterfall over a silver screen. The stars punched in the metal screen align with the stars in the heavens on the night that San Antonio was founded, three hundred years ago in 1718. There's a broad walkway that follows around the creek, with lots of seating made of beautiful Mexican tiles. The creek itself is open to waders, with lots of limestone water features to climb on, and a channel that's a few feet deep that you can lie down in, and let the water flow over. You can't go swimming in the creek, but the park is open for wading. As you go down through the park, you see lots of art, murals, mosaics, poetry, informational signs, and beautiful design and landscaping that has been put in. The paths are wide, and well lit. It's a great place to watch the water flow by. As you walk along and enjoy the artwork, be sure to check out the placards that tell you about the area's history. As you go down, there's great signage that tells you where things are. It's lit, and you can even charge your phone on some of the signs! This park is still under construction, and they're working on the southern side of it as of this writing. I hope that it ultimately hooks up with the San Antonio River Riverwalk. The river is vital to life in San Antonio as a place to relax, meet, and have fun. This place is certainly furthering that goal! This is my favorite new park!

Yelp
Pretty but zero shade and no bathrooms so everyone is pretty much playing in pee water.

Yelp
Very historical, very visual, very beautiful, very photogenic, very new, and most of all very hard to fine and park to get to. Wow, I must of driven around this place 4 times. There's no parking to see this creek. If you're not paying 100% attention, you'll miss it.

Yelp
My dog loves to be in the water and to swim so when I found that they had a wading area it was perfect to keep her from overheating in this Texas heat!!

Yelp
Walked out here to see a pretty portion of the river and found something quiet the opposite. I would not visit this part of the river. The water was not flowing and was dried up and there was a sign that said "No water contact" and something about the qater quality was being monitored. The sign looked like it had been there for a long time.
