Lots of delicious food and the desserts are amazing. Came for the first snacks and coffee and pistachio latte. The crew was super helpful and kind giving recommendations and replacing one of our orders. The place is located in a shopping center next to a wing stop. I’d recommend coming back again! Cozy Yemeni Cafe with excellent tea and coffee plus lots of yummy bakery items. Located in a large strip mall with a great corner location. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating. Additionally, there's patio seating area. Unfortunately, it was raining the day we visited. There's plenty of free self parking in private lot. Luckily, we were able to find an indoor table. The super friendly staff were warm and welcoming. We placed our order and everything was prepared freshly and brought out. The hot tea was very flavorful. All the pastry items were top notch and very yummy.

Fantastic! We are picky coffee drinkers and this place has delivered over a couple of years now. The fact that there is always a cardamom, clove and cinnamon component is a huge bonus. We had the knafeh once again and the nutty flavors definitely were on top on anything else. No need to book a flight to Istanbul for this delicious treat. It's right here.

Hands down one of the BEST coffee spots in Lake Forest! Sanaa Cafe absolutely kills it every single time. The baristas are beyond amazing, insanely friendly, welcoming, and genuinely some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They remember customers, take their time with each order, and make you feel valued from the moment you walk in. The service is flawless, fast, and full of positive energy. You can tell the team truly cares about quality and customer experience. The drinks are always perfect, and the atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. This place sets the standard for what great service should look like. Finally made it here after countless recommendations, and it totally lived up to the hype. The vibes are immaculate—bright, uplifting, and welcoming. Service was fast and top-notch, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the chicken musakhan, potato fatayer, pistachio baklava, and adeni chai. While the food was ok, the overall experience and atmosphere really stole the show. So excited to see so many new halal cafés opening up—this one is definitely worth checking out!

Came on Christmas Day without knowing anything about Yemeni coffee or any of their pastries. Their Yemeni latte contains Cardamom and cinnamon and is very good. I love how it’s organic. I also ordered their Kaak and pistachio baklava pastries. Both pastries were really flavorful.

Awesome spot. So glad we tried it. Food was great, staff was friendly. I also picked up a bag of their medium roast coffee and we have been enjoying it. We're definitely making it a regular spot in our rotation. Looking forward to going back and trying out more from the menu!

Wished they opened one closer to us. Whenever we're in the area, we always try to stop by for some Chai, Yemeni Coffee, Turkish Coffee, and Pistachio Iced Coffee. They also have delicious pastries and desserts. My favorite desserts are the Biscotti Cheesecake, Persian Cupcake, Knafeh, and Tiramisu. I've had the pleasure of trying their honeycomb breads as well and they're good too. Their meat pastries were okay for me but my family loves them. There are plenty of tables and chairs inside and outside. It seems like it's a hot spot for people who are working or studying. Every time we go, we see several people on their laptops and books. The place is brightly lit which I guess is nice for those working and studying. The staff members are always so welcoming and friendly. Our hot drinks come out piping hot which I love. Their drinks are not overly sweet either and you can still request for adjustments to your liking. I also love their dine-in coffee/tea sets. If we lived closer, I would come here almost every day if I could. There are so many cafes all over but it's hard to come across decent ones nowadays. I'm happy to have found Sana'a Cafe.

We are looking for a nearby coffee place and this showed up as the closest place and we checked it out! Love the ambience and the vibes inside! The staff is super friendly and fun! My husband ordered a flavored latte and loved it! I really wanted to try a tea, but I was so full from dinner and definitely wanna come back What I love most of this place is open very late, which is very rare for the area. So it's nice to find a place as open past 9 PM that you can just hang out have a nice pastry or coffee or tea.

Pastries are amazing! Ordered the pistachio latte and jalapeño honeycomb this morning and was pretty happy. Strong pistachio flavor to the latte, almost like they added a pistachio butter in. Was a bit sweet, but flavors were good. The jalapeño honeycomb bread was great. Good balance of spice from the jalapeño with the cream cheese, then a bit of sweetness from the honey drizzle. Didn't eat in, so can't speak to the service or ambiance, but would try their pastries again.

Amazing coffees, haven't tried the pastries yet! Post lunch, we stopped by for an afternoon pick-me-up. Sana'a Cafe has tempting baked goods, Arabic and Yemeni coffees and espressos and flavored lattes. Arabic Light Roast - This was light, not what I'd typically expect from coffee because it doesn't have any of that chocolatey feel, it's really bright and light in texture and leaves you with a clean, mind clarifying feel. It looks like a "clear" coffee if there is such a thing. It's a good drink, probably not the flavor profile I'd reach for but I can see why people would get this. Mofawar (Medium Roast w/ Cardamom and Cream) - This one had some grittiness to the texture and just a touch of cream to smooth out the strong coffee. I really liked this one and would drink it with or without sugar. My friend got this so I just got a taste, but I will be getting this next time. Pistachio Latte - This was milky smooth with good pistachio taste. Easy drinking, not overly sweet (you can add more sugar if you want). I'd get it again. Sana'a also has Refresher drinks (Mango Passionfruit, Kiwi Dragon Fruit, Mango Watermelon, Mojioto, Strawberry Lemonade, etc.), Smoothies, hot tea and cakes and pastries. They make your coffee fresh as you can see them pouring your cup out of just heated small metal pots. Their hot coffees are served steaming hot so give them a few minutes to cool down before you start sipping. They have a number of seats so you can sit and hang out with your friends and have a talk. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. I will be back to try some other drinks!

I've been meaning to try this spot and I'm so happy we finally visited. I hear Sanaa is huge in Beverly Hills and for good reason! The pastries display is so tempting and everything we ordered was so good and not too sweet- much appreciated. The pistachio cheesecake was heavenly- smooth, creamy, just enough sweetness and the crust was perfect. I love the rose petals on top and pistachio bits in it as well. The baklava was just as expected- sweet and delicious with a perfectly crispy and flaky exterior. We also ordered the spinach pastry, and that was my favorite one actually. You'll have to try it. Lots of spinach and had a nice flavor. I also tried their honey lavender latte and it was also good. I'd definitely revisit in the future and recommend stopping in if you're in the area.

Came here for the first time after dinner and the customer service was excellent! The three barista guys offered such warm service that I haven't encounter in a very long time at a cafe. They had such friendly attitudes and the cardamom latte with latte art was not only pretty but delicious especially paired with the delicious pistachio cheesecake and lemon bar. Will definitely be back!!

Open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day until 11PM. The drinks (my favorite is the adana chai) and pastries are beautifully crafted and best enjoyed in their well-appointed space. Plenty of parking, and friendly staff.

Had a delicious Mofawar coffee here for an afternoon pick me up. There are lots of traditional Yemeni specialties in addition to your standard coffee shop options as well. I also picked up a couple of milk cakes as well, a tiramisu and a Biscoff! The servers were knowledgeable and there was ample space for large groups too.

My family and I went to this coffee shop on a Sunday night for the first time , We were welcome by the staff and they answered all our questions about their special coffee and how it's made , We tried their Yemeni coffee which was authentic and delicious. , I recommend the Adan tea which comes in family size pot too , their pastry was fresh specially the pistachio milk cake was my favourite , I highly recommend this place to my friends , five star from me ps, this place is pet friendly ! ‍

This will be short and sweet. Things i liked: - They have a nice, large outdoor seating area. - Adheni Chai was solid -Biscoff milk cake was spectacular! Things i did not like; just one, inside is kind of crampy but it's an odd shaped retail footprint so they're making lemonade. Lots of parking, decent location and open late. Great establishment!

Sigh... I still dream about their milk cakes. I tried the pistachio cake, rose cake, and saffron cake-- all in one sitting. I mean, being an adult means you can use your money to do whatever you want, right? And I wanted 3 cakes, so I had 3 cakes. That being said, it's a beautiful cafe, the service is prompt, the coffee is delicious and so are the milk cakes. Sana'a cafe-- you have my whole heart.

I can't believe I only found this gem recently after driving by so many times. They have a great selection of teas and exotic and beautiful teapots and cups. Their decor is not anything out of the ordinary except for this one corner that is inspired by Middle Eastern style. I am guessing Yemeni. I like how they have a variety of iced matcha options as well as exotic drinks like Arabic coffee. Their baklava is my favorite. My go to is the pistachio flavor and they have many other delicious looking desserts I want to try. The staff are friendly and I will definitely add this place to my coffee shop roster.

There are few moments and things in life that makes you stop and just think, "I'm so grateful to be alive." The Pistachio latte, the honey comb, and the biscoff cheesecake do exactly that. From the very first bite or sip you'll be filled with the tingly feels. It's euphoria. I'm so hooked now on Yemeni coffee I'm stuck watching YouTube vids on the history. They stay consistent and that is absolute key! Love this place, thank you Sana'a!

Ooh, the desserts here are sooo good. Didn't get to try the coffee but it looked delicious. And they're open late!! There was a bit of a line and service was pretty slow, but it was worth it. It was pretty crowded but there's both inside and outside seating so it's very possible to find seating.

Hospitality just like back home. Honestly nothing tastes better than Yemeni coffee...the originators of coffee While fisting Lake Forest I knew I had to come here. Everything was top tier, I the Yemeni latte, mofawar coffee, biscoff milk cake, and honeycomb were all made to perfection. The inside is your standard coffee shop with tables and chairs but what makes it extra special is the Arabic music playing . 10/10 recommend

Tastefully decorated Yemeni cafe in Lake Forest. Tons of parking available, although there's a supermarket that's set to open in the same plaza soon, so not sure how that will affect the cafe. You pay first and they'll call you when your orders ready. They had a lot of pastry options, from milk cake, baklavas, cheesecakes and knafeh. I tried out the pistachio baklava and really loved how you could really taste the pistachio. The piece was also a lot bigger than other baklavas I've had. I also had an iced Adeni Chai, which was a bit sweet for my liking, but still tasty overall. The cardamom was just right, and not too overwhelming. There are a few tables inside, and a ton of seating outside. However, they only have one bathroom. Overall, a decent spot to meet friends at.

Yemen coffee shop so I wanted to try to get out of my comfort zone. I didn't try any latte but they don't use house made syrups. This review is for the desserts. Love the pistachio milk cake. Not too sweet. So moist. So good. Excellent. Biscoff cheesecake. A bit sweet but the texture and flavor was very good. Definitely both worth getting. Service was good. Plenty of parking. Definitely be back

I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing because of the customer service. We ordered a teapot (the tea was well brewed and I liked the mint inside) and a Biscoff milk cake, which was very soft and tasty. We also ordered pistachio baklava and Nutella cheesecake, but both of these were not fresh at all. The baklava was extremely hard--almost like wood--and very difficult to bite. I informed the staff that the desserts were not fresh, but they were very disrespectful and completely ignored what I said. Without even checking, they kept insisting that the items were fresh. They did offer to bring something else, but due to their attitude, I did not want to order anything further. The staff clearly need better training on how to treat customers. My evening was ruined, and I would not recommend this place if you are looking for good service.

This place was awesome! Such a wonderful find :) the service was so friendly and drinks were delicious. We also got a few desserts including the carrot cake, ice cream baklava and honeycomb bread. The honeycomb bread was insane but the ice cream baklava was a close second. Carrot cake was also delicious, but if you have to choose, get the honeycomb bread! It's super cute in here (but was absolutely packed when we went). However, they have quite a large area for outdoor seating so there's plenty of options. Highly recommend and I look forward to coming back here!

Still new to Yemeni coffees and Middle Eastern desserts, Sadeq (according to my receipt) was greatly appreciated for her customer service; she was appreciatively welcoming, patient, helpful, and approachable. Having ordered their Sana'Ani (dark, rich, full of flavors) on a previous visit, their Qisher was quite different (much lighter like tea -- as I learned is due to using only the coffee husks; however, I still enjoyed its subtle flavors); hubby enjoyed his (labeled as popular) Mofawar (which is more of what I was expecting). Being a fan of pistachios and pistachio-flavored items, I was delighted by their selections, ordering their Pistachio Baklava (flavorful layers of thin, crisp, flaky phyllo dough with a nice amount of sweetness and plenty of chopped pistachios). On a previous visit, I experienced and enjoyed a slice of their Honeycomb, which was served heated with a drizzle of honey. I appreciate that when dining there, beverages and food are served in attractive cups and plates, elevating my experience. In addition, there's a good amount of seating inside (although I miss their previous cushy-&-comfy chair I'd sat in) and outside of their attractive corner location; parking is easy, as well. Fun find!

Overall, I'd give this place about a 3.8/5. It's usually busy and loud--lots of groups, girl dates, and people plugged into laptops or games. There's plenty of seating, though it can feel a bit cramped. The decor is tasteful, and while parking can be tricky since it's in a busy plaza, it's not terrible. Glad to see they now have a rewards program! Drink-wise, the Iced Dolce Latte was nothing special, and the Iced White Chocolate Latte was too sweet and kind of bland imo. My favorite so far is the Iced Biscoff Latte--I've ordered it a few times and it's definitely the standout. You can really taste the difference in their coffee. They have a huge pastry case that looks fresh, but unfortunately the cheesecake I has was a miss. I really tried, but it ended up in the trash... about $7-8 wasted. Customer service is okay, nothing memorable. They do have a restroom with nice decor, but it could be better maintained. Please add toilet seat covers--it would honestly save money in the long run versus people using toilet paper as makeshift covers. Lastly, I agree with another reviewer--during my first visit (a month ago), there were older gentlemen smoking at the outdoor tables who seemed connected to the shop. A group of men kept going in and out with furniture (?) and felt blocked as I was trying to leave. It wasn't the best first impression, and thought I wouldn't return but did for the biscoff coffee. Sharing this with good intentions, as I think a few tweaks could make an already good spot even better.

First time here. I didn't know what drink to order, so I went with what they recommended - Mofawar. It was sooo good. I also got a baclava with walnut and Ka'ak. They were both delicious. The cafe is spacious and comfortable with both indoor and outdoor seating.

The coffee was amazing! Friendly service. I am a coffee snob who grinds his own organic coffee daily and brews it in an AeroPress, so I really appreciate it when I find a great cup of organic coffee when I'm on the road.

They have the best pistachio latte here! It's not made with artificial syrup so it actually tastes like real pistachios. All the girls here are super sweet as well. Especially Basra ! She took her time explaining all the different flavors they have here. The biscoff latte sounds delicious as well and I can't wait to go back and try it. I haven't tried their pastries but they all look really tasty.

Firstly, Very positive energy, Yemeni coffeehouse & desserts - so many wonderful Middle Eastern, choices. People are enjoying Turkish coffee, (could be something else ) Lots of people playing board games outside under heated gas lights. What a wonderful addition to Lake Forest, and especially the shopping center! In addition, Seems to be excellent as well is service, waiters bring the coffee, Turkish cups to the table and all right to the table patrons told me that Yemen is right next to Saudi Arabia. My daughter told me that the desert, she also chose tastes excellent too.

Been wanting to try this spot forever! The staff was very friendly and helped me choose between all the iced coffee options. I went with the Yemeni latte, which was absolutely exploding with fresh cardamom spice. My husband got a hot chai, which he said was also very fresh and well spiced. We got our drinks to stay, and really enjoyed the big comfy couches and music. They even had a chess set to play with while we hung out. The milk cakes looked awesome in the case, but I could tell some of the other pastries were straight from Costco; maybe those are more for kids who come in (croissants, blueberry muffin, etc.). Overall, a really nice place to visit for a tasty caffeine kick and even spend some time hanging out.

Sana'a Cafe is a Yemeni cafe known for its flavorful drinks and pastries. There's plenty of free parking in the complex in front of the store. There's also plenty of aesthetic indoor and outdoor seating. The service was okay and our food took a while to come. The honeycombs were a bit dry and weren't as good as the one's from Qamaria. The chicken fatayer tasted flavorful and was crispy. The pistachio cake just tasted like an average tres leches, but the tiramisu cheesecake was decadent and flavorful. The prices were also a bit expensive as well but they have a promotional offer with coupons in the mail. I'd recommend this place to a friend who wanted to go to a cute middle eastern cafe and take nice pictures.

Hi, I'm definitely not a hater I'm disappointed by the lack of accountability from you (the business owner) and your staff. You definitely were not there last night, because there were at least 2-3 tables smoking around small children and people that felt uncomfortable by it. Instead of taking ownership and course-correcting, you're placing the blame on the customer. And yes, this is a reflection of your customer service. Your staff handled the situation very poorly. I would not have left a review if your team had done what you're now claiming was done. Thank you for your response. I hope you take this as constructive feedback and address it moving forward.

The person helping us behind the counter was so kind and helpful. He seemed genuinely happy to walk us through the menu, and even gave me some fresh cardamom to smell, so I would know how the spiced coffees would taste. I got one of the traditional Turkish coffees, iced, and we shared a delicious kunefe. This place is a wonderful find, and had a lovely cushioned seating area, as well.

I hate when this happens... I go to a place with super high expectations and end up being so let down. I love dessert, I eat a lot of it. And I'm not talking boxes of store bought hohos and ding dongs. I like the good stuff, the quality stuff. The things that delicious dreams are made of. For the service, I'll give it a solid 4. Nothing crazy here. Basic interaction at the counter. The cafe itself is pretty large for being a cafe, and offers plenty of seating. On to what I ordered... a simple piece of the pistachio tiramisu. At first sight, it looked good. Nice layers. I was excited for my first bite, especially since I paid $9 for it (I figured, for this price, it has to be amazing). But man, I was so disappointed. It had the taste of something that had been sitting in the fridge. That was my first reaction - "why does this taste like fridge?". Once I got past that, and took my second bite, I realized that the top layer tasted, artificial. That's all I could come up with it to describe it. Not light, not fresh, but, almost plastic-y. And I don't know why. Needless to say, not my favorite experience. And just so very disappointed. Especially since it was $9. How are they able to charge $9 for this? What is the saying, "daylight robbery". In your face, no qualms about it. It just doesn't seem... right. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a delicious, quality sweet treat. I would look elsewhere.

Wide selection of cakes, muffins, and savory items. They also have a couple honeycomb options. Regular cheese and jalapeño cheese. They can heat up the savory items so it's warm when you consume them. I got a few: potato, cheese, and spinach. I tried the earl grey tea and saffron muffin. Very good. Employees are friendly and plenty of parking. There's a lot of seating too. Eight tables inside and about ten outside.

I've been to this cafe twice --- both times with my mother and wife --- and it's a wonderful find. This time we ordered the baklava again, which was really delcious! We also ordered the Saffron Milkcake, which is the first time I've tried this dessert. It was light, not so sweet, indulgent, but not too rich. Definitely something I would like to try again. My mother had the spinach fatayer, which she loved. My wife and I shared a Jubani coffee, which is a medium roast coffee with coffee husks, ginger, cinnamon and cardamon. An unusual taste and not sweet (although I was asked if I wanted sugar in it and I said no). The woman behind the counter who took my order was very nice. The ambiance within the cafe is chilled and friendly. It's a really nice place to hang out.

Sana'a Cafe is such in a gem in this area. Not only do they open very late but they have one of the best drinks and desserts. I met with some friends here on a late Friday night to hang out. It was all our first time and we were surprised how busy it was. As we stood in line waiting to place our order, we were in awe of all the different speciality desserts they had. They had cakes, brownies, cookies, and many other pastries. We came very late that night and I was surprised how many dessert items were still available. There were lots of pistachio items which I loved. I ended up getting a hot chocolate and shared a pistachio baklava and pistachio milk cake with one other person. The hot chocolate was well done. The two desserts were both good. I liked that the milk cake wasn't too sweet and was really good. The baklava was also good and everyone enjoyed it. I also got a sip of their pistachio latte which was also really good. There is a lots of seating inside and outside of this cafe. It's such a great place to hang out at. However it does get really busy so grabbing a seat can be difficult. We were able to grab a table outside. You order at the register and they bring out the item to you. I wouldn't definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

I'm a repeat customer due to the coffee here being on a completely other level compared to the local familiar brands. This is serious cofeee and the menu boasts many delights of Yemeni origin. The vibe evokes memories of the golden age of coffee houses in the Nineties when a coffee house was a community experience shared well into the evening. My hesitation here is that the prices are not cheap. $7and higher for an espresso or specialty drink. The service levels don't always match the prices because the youth brigade behind the counter can take upwards of 10 minutes to make a coffee. The servers are often friendly but sometimes a little too much youthful energy or just the opposite, by sometimes being timid and shy. But I am going back because those drawbacks are worth putting up with.

*****Amazing Arabic Style Coffee!***** A very lovely cafe with a fresh open vibe. They have the best coffee i have had in a long time. High quality, fragrant, flavorful. They have dessert style coffee which my daughter had (white chocolate latte). She loved it. I had the Sena Coffee with Ginger, Cinnamon, cardamom,...wow! What an amazing drink. It's hot and refreshing at the same time. This is an amazing drink! Parking is easy. Customer Service is great I would love to hav e coffee here again!

I had the pleasure of stopping by for a quick visit and tried the Adeni Chai and some honeycomb bread stuffed with cheese and drizzled with some syrup. Both were pretty good! The cheese in the honeycomb was a little tangy for me, but with the piping hot cup of chai, it was delicious. I loved the spices of the chai along with the touch of evaporated milk. It was such a treat for the taste buds - I'll be back for more of that drink! I also like how the place sells beans and a wide assortment of pastries (both sweet and savory). Friendly service and very relaxing environment makes this a great place to stop by!

Sana'a Cafe immediately struck me with the ambience as soon as I walked in. The seating is cozy and comfortable and there are quite a few tables both inside and outside of the cafe. I went on a Sunday afternoon and while busy, it wasn't packed and the volume was low enough to be easy to hold a conversation. I tried the Qisher which is made of shell beans and the barista warned me that it is a very light drink in terms of flavor. The drink was very light in both color and taste and while a very unique drink, I think I'd like to try their other drinks next time. I tried the pistachio cheesecake, oreo cheesecake, and tiramisu milk cake. The tiramisu milk cake was the standout, and while not traditional, it The pistachio cheesecake had a nice mild flavor and was nice and rich and dense. The oreo cheesecake was a little overly sweet for my taste, but still quite good. The shop is proud of their organic coffee and I'm looking forward to returning to try more drinks and food options.

OMG! First time trying pistachio matcha and pistachio tiramisu -- both were absolutely delicious! Pistachio is my favorite, and these did not disappoint. The flavors were rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Next time I'm craving something sweet and need a cozy spot to hang out, this place will definitely be my first choice!

Absolutely delicious! Service was friendly and quick. Quiet little coffee/ tea shop with great selection of treats both savory and sweet. Will definitely be coming back again.

The drinks are great and the food is delicious! The service is always exceptional and the music & ambience shine as well. It's great to see people from all walks of life hanging out at this place because it's a very unique yet "neighborhood" coffee shop.
