Went for lunch with my wife as I was craving their stewed pork hock over rice. We only ordered 5 dishes, which are the pineapple fried rice, stewed pork hock, Chinese broccoli with crispy pork, pad thai, and tom-yum goong soup. Soup came first, followed by my stewed pork hock. The rest of the orders came after 20 minutes. We came here to eat together, not to watch one person eat while the other person waits for her food to arrive. I had to ask the server twice where are the rest of our order? By the time the rest of the foods came, my food was already cold. Worst of it is that the foods that we were waiting for came to our table cold as well. The crispy pork is also not crispy. The couple sitting next to us actually left because their orders were taking so long. We’ve been eating at Sanamluang since the mid 1990’s at their old location. This was my worst experience from them yet. Just disappointing. I hope they figure out how to fix their kitchen situation, food quality, and get the food out in a timely manner.

If you have a craving for Thai food, this place will definitely help with that! -Pork belly side not worth it. Very dry!

My team came to Sanamluang for a work lunch, and we were very satisfied! Our food came out quickly and was delicious. I would recommend the Koo Chai. My friend said that her pad kra paw was the best she has eaten in a restaurant, and the pad see ew was also tasty without being overly greasy or heavy.

The quality and taste of the food remained constant and excellent my favorites: Salted Fish Fried Rice. Garlic Pork Spare Ribs, Shrimp PadWonSen, and Mix Vegetables with Tofu

Papaya salad had too much lime, so we couldn't finish it while we were there. Other than that, everything was delicious. We got green curry as our main and the sanamluang noodles to try. Green curry is my favorite but, wow, the noodles has me changing my mind. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. It also was enough to serve two. Service was quick and workers were always coming by to check if we had our food and if we needed water.

I almost never leave a low-star review, but today’s experience made it unavoidable. We visited around 1 PM, saw the place was busy, and thought that was a good sign, especially since we hadn’t been back in about ten years. We ordered fish cake appetizers, pad see ew with beef, and their “general noodles” with barbecue pork and duck. Unfortunately, the pad see ew actually arrived with pork instead of beef, and the entire meal was a letdown. The Thai coffee was too sweet, the fish cake was bland and oily, and the general noodles were soggy and flavorless. The barbecue meats were tough and just not enjoyable. For a $54 meal before tip, this level of quality just isn’t acceptable. It’s disappointing to see a place that once had charm drop the ball like this. Nobody deserves that kind of performance or food quality, especially for the cost.

We visited on a Saturday evening and experienced a 30-minute wait, which wasn’t too bad considering how many people were waiting in the lobby. The menu is pretty extensive, featuring a variety of classic Thai dishes. We ordered the Boat Noodles, Pad Thai, Red Curry with rice, Tom Yum, and Combination Fried Rice. The food was flavorful, and I appreciated the three different types of chili available at the table for customizing spice levels. The service was decent, though nothing exceptional. A heads-up about parking: avoid the adjacent lot near the dentist’s office, as there’s a security guard on-site enforcing towing rules (even during dentist's off-hours). Overall, it’s a solid spot for Thai food with a great selection of dishes.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant (a different location then this one) for years and years and they’re are always good. Service was good even though it was busy during lunch. My family and I always get our own entree and share a soup or two so we always get lots of good food! Thim our server was very helpful and sweet!

If ever a restaurant could suffer from being too good,it would be Sanamluang. The food is so delicious and the service so attentive, that the place is almost always filled to capacity at mealtime. The volume of chatter reflects this, and since we are getting older and enjoy being able to hear our friends talk, we often opt for the takeout. However, if your hearing is better or your friends less interesting, you could make a different choice and be blissfully happy eating at Sanamluang.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over a decade. It used to be a hole in the wall at a location down the street but has expanded to the current location. It is conveinetly located off Indian Hill Blvd from the 10 freeway. The service is always excellent. They always have fresh flowers in the restaurant where the servers/cashiers are. Although, I'm glad the business has expanded and they're receiving lots of clientele the wait can be horrendous *sometimes* (even with takeout) *sometimes though* I take friends and family here for special occasions and casual events. The food is always consistent. I personally enjoy the spicy mint leaf fried rice (has seafood), papaya salad, tom yum soup, and pad kee mao.

This was my first time back since writing my last review, and unfortunately I'm disappointed to say that nothing has changed. Once again, the service was extremely disorganized. Two out of the four dishes were served immediately, while the third came out about 20 minutes later--and then another 20 minutes passed before the final dish arrived. Oddly enough, the last dish was the Pad Thai, which made no sense since it should be one of the quickest and most straightforward items to prepare. On top of that, we had to remind our server to bring us rice. It's hard to enjoy a meal when a basic component is missing and needs to be requested after the fact. At this point, it's clear there's still a major lack of communication and coordination in the kitchen and among staff. It's really disappointing because the food itself has potential, but after giving this place another chance and experiencing the same issues, I don't plan on returning.

My husband's family and I love this place! We really enjoy having our family dinners here (for birthdays or hangouts) just because it can fit all of us (about 16 of us). Parking in the front is not much but there is plenty of parking next to the restaurant on the lot over. I think by now the servers have recognized us since we come here so often with so many people. They are very friendly and accommodating especially when we come in with 10 kids in our party of 16. All the food here is good! We always do family style and that includes orders their fried rice, noodles, curries, appetizer, etc. Number 1 Thai restaurant for us whenever the family and I are craving Thai! :)

We liked the Sanamluang Cafe in Hollywood, but it was our first time trying the to-go orders from Claremont a few days ago, and overall it was good. Their Pad See Ew was flavorful and delicious, and the portion was great. The Satay Chicken consisted of 5 large skewers and came with white toast, peanut sauce, and cucumber salad. The chicken meat was very thick and big compared to other Thai restaurants. However, they were a little bit dry, and we prefer the peanut sauce to be less sweet and more nutty. The Papaya salad was made from shredded green papaya, and this dish usually had a spicy kick from chili and garlic, but it was too spicy for me. Anyhow, we liked the tangy and savory flavor combined with lime juice and fish sauce. It was still a good and authentic Thai meal.

I've only been to the North Hollywood location. I ordered a wonton soup and it was pretty good. It was a little on the sweet side, but it's probably from the bbq pork in the soup. The broth tasted clean. It's good they put the wontons in a separate container so it doesn't get soggy. Portions are okay but I wish they gave a few more wontons. Next time, I'll try something else.

This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant, and I keep coming back because the food is consistently amazing. I've been here several times, and every visit has delivered bold, authentic flavors that really stand out, especially if you love spicy food. The place is clean tables are organized. The dishes are well-prepared, generously portioned, and packed with just the right amount of heat and seasoning. ImService has been great during my experiences--friendly, attentive, and efficient--despite some mixed opinions I've heard from others. That said, I haven't visited during extremely busy times, so I can't fully speak to how service holds up during peak hours. One of the biggest downsides is parking, which can be very challenging, and the wait time can be quite long, especially during popular dining hours. Even with those inconveniences, the quality of the food makes it worth the wait, and it remains a top choice for Thai cuisine.

I ordered via phone on Saturday, 10/25/25 for lunch to-go pick up. Ordered the following: - 1 Pad See Ewe (Beef) = $13.95 - 1 Pad Thai (Shrimp) = $13.95 - 1 Combination Fried Rice = $14.95 - 1 Chicken Satay = $14.95 SUBTOTAL = $57.80 SALES TAX (9.75%) = $5.64 OVERALL TOTAL = $63.44 The price has increased over the years (my last review was back in 2022 and I compared the prices from 2022 vs now). However, this is one the most affordable and authentic Thai food places you'll ever find in SoCal. We had a bunch of leftovers and so this meal is great for 2 full days!

Ordered picked from one of our favorite Thai places...guess the dishes we picked today weren't great because the food is usually really good. They were out of the salted fish fried rice so we got the combo fried rice, which was very plain and underwhelming! Tofu pad see ew was tasty Pad pra kow- we ordered spicy but hardly any spice at all Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly- we also ordered spicy but no spice at all, this dish is prob better eaten fresh bc by the time we got home the pork wasn't crispy...also it was majority rice so better so just get the entree dish

Came here for my dad's birthday and my teaching induction celebration. Service was pretty good, and they really did a good job making sure we were checked on and filled up. It's one of the best Thai restaurants because the dishes are amazing. We had wings which had some pretty good flavor. It may have been too tiny though, but still good. It overall has a good Thai feel to it. Also, I had the seafood fried rice which was really good. It's sweet flavor was very delicious, and I think they cooked it really well. Lastly, beautiful place and spacing.

My go-to spot for Thai food in the area! Consistently good food and very reasonable prices -- the portions are huge! Service is always friendly and the wait is never too long, even on a busy weekend night. Parking is available in the lot, to the side of the restaurant and behind it as well. The restaurant is nicely decorated and always seems to have fresh flowers that make the place a bit more fancy. My favorites are the duck curry which has so much duck flavor, pad kee mow which has so much Thai basil flavor and rhad nah which is so flavorful yet simple. Don't forget to spice things up with their pickled chilis and other spicy condiments!

This might be one of my all time favorite Thai restaurants in SoCal. You know it's authentic when every is from Thai. This place is truly a hidden gem! Fried garlic pepper chicken and rice- the flavor was amazing and the side of rice went perfectly well together. Pad see ew- one of my favorite dishes and we tried it with beef this time. I think it taste better with chicken. Garlic short ribs - I love this appetizer! It's small, shareable and absolutely delicious! Cook to perfection! Parking can be very challenging in general and especially on the weekends. They will tow your car so pay attention to where you can and cannot park. The staff is amazing too! Great service and food!!

Ordered a tom yum goong soup and when asked for heat level, I said medium. It was really spicy. I can only imagine how spicy the next level is. Despite the heat, it was delicious and will definitely get it again, but I will make sure to ask for noodles next time. It was nice to see so many families enjoying dinner there tonight. It was busy, but my order was taken and within ten minutes my order was ready to go. I really like how clean this location is and their decoration. They had music playing and it wasn't too loud. The fresh flowers are beautiful as you enter the restaurant. Overall, delicious and worth your time.

One of the best Thai restaurants in my neighborhood. Expect this place to be very busy all the time. There is a pretty large waiting area in the front but some wait outside. Parking can get tight. Although it's always busy here, I've gotten seated pretty quickly most of the time. You can't go wrong in any of your menu choices. Some of the best items are their pad see ew, pad thai, garlic ribs, broccoli with crispy pork belly. The staff are very friendly but are always super busy. The busier it is, the slower the service can get but they are so nice, it's all good. Overall, a reliable and comfy option for Thai food in the area. Highly recommend.

Best authentic Thai food and I always come here when I am in town ! Wonderful friendly service that is professional in this busy clean restaurant. We love the garlic pork spareribs, fried chicken wings, House special crispy trout with sauce with sliced apples, Many curry dishes and my husband's pad ka paow, Som tom Papaya salad, pad noodles with vegetables and gravy and your choice of meat. They had multiple soups to choose from and I picked the one that reminded me of my mom - with clear chicken broth and vegetables and noodles and ground pork. Many vegetarian options like ka nom Pak Kard which is radish rice biscuit with green onions and bean sprouts, koi chai dumplings with Chinese vegetables or taro delight. I Love lychee or cocunut fruit freeze drinks and of course Thai ice tea . Be sure to park in restaurant designated parking lot.

I just have to say some of the best Thai food I have had! Service was amazing. The staff is extremely attentive and we did not have to ask for anything. We were glad we arrived a bit early, as the empty tables quickly filled up with hungry diners. Super clean and well-maintained, with a cool modern vibe. The decor is fresh and stylish without feeling overdone -- a great mix of comfort and contemporary design. It took us a while to decide what to order, thanks to the wide variety of delicious options. With our server's helpful recommendations, we finally chose the chicken satay appetizer, Pad Thai, and chicken Pad Kra Pao. The food was incredible, and all the dishes ordered by nearby tables looked absolutely delicious as well! Every dish was packed with bold, fresh flavors that hit all the right notes -- spicy, savory, a little sweet, and totally satisfying. You can really taste the quality and care in the ingredients and cooking. I can't wait to go back and try some of their curry dishes!

What a great, delicious and authentic Thai restaurant! I'm so happy I no longer have to drive to Hollywood for Thai food. I love the pork leg stew over rice and beef noodle. The staff were super nice and food came out quickly (good portion so we had to take leftover home). The ambiance is comfortable, bright and cozy with many tables and booths. Highly recommended!

W Thai eats. Great portions and great prices. Didn't take photos but the chicken wings are fire. Dinner for 12 was only like 200 bucks. Genuinely mind blown.

Food was great! I had the pork leg over rice and the Tom Kha soup. Both were great! Service was excellent. I had lunch there and they were very busy but were able to seat me right away and the food came out very fast. I was checked on several times by the wait staff.

I came here during lunch hour and ordered the pineapple fried rice and Thai tea to go. Their food is pretty good and flavorful. I'd like to come back and eat here at the restaurant.

This has been our favorite Thai restaurant. We used to visit their Pomona location during our college years. Prices have been and are still reasonable. Portions are great (refer to photos). All the food is tasty. There is a wide selection of choices from noodles to rice to soup. Parking can be difficult since it's limited due to other businesses. There are street parking. This location is definitely much larger than before. There is plenty of seating, great for large groups. The reason I gave 4 stars is because it took the server very long to take our order after we have asked numerous times. It wasn't even under staff and our server seem to undermine us as to what we were ordering. He kept checking with us and asking if that's really what we wanted ‍ Maybe that's just the way he talks? I will still return and enjoy the food.

Decent Thai place if you're looking for value! Each dish goes from $12-$18 depending on the protein you pick. The dishes here are average. The pad see ew and pad Thai were solid dishes. Cant go wrong with those dishes. The crispy pork was crispy even with the sauce and vegetables on. We got mint fried rice with seafood but there was not much mint flavor at all. The seafood took over the flavors and each bite tasted seafoody. Friendly staff and lots of seating. Right off the 10 freeway and has lots of parking. Would come back if I want a cheap meal.

This is actually one of my favorite Thai restaurants, definitely worth the long drive. My new favorite dish is the Crispy Chicken Larb (similar to orange chicken but different, tangy with much more flavor). Loved all our dishes. Great customer service! Looking forward to coming back and trying to other dishes on the menu. Located in a shopping mall, plenty of parking available.

Good food, fast service and a lot of people are seen enjoying the food. We will return to try more food here.

Upon arrival, there was a security guard who helped open our doors and kindly tell us to park in the right parking lot. Make sure to not park in the lot across the restaurant in the same plaza! The food and service were quick and efficient. I had a large party, so they kindly let us split the bill in half (for our table). The food was extremely tasty and affordable. There is a reason why so many people were eating at the same time as us. We got the mild spicy fried rice which was tolerable for someone who does not like spice, just make sure there is water available.

We ordered a bunch of different things, but the standouts for me were the fried chicken wings and the Tom Yum soup. The wings were super crispy, well seasoned, and just the right bite-size. Really addictive. The Tom Yum soup was also great! not like some places that just dump in heavy premade paste. Theirs was lighter with more layers of flavor, which I really appreciated. All the side sauces were amazing too. You can tell they make them in-house and put real thought into them. We also tried a few different noodle dishes. They were decent, but nothing too different from what you'd get elsewhere. Personally, I liked the stir-fried ones more than the boiled ones. The place is huge and really popular with locals. Service was quick, even though it was super busy. Just be prepared, it gets really loud in there.

There aren't too many great Thai options in this area imo but when one of my friends brought Sanamlaung to a party I knew this was my new go to spot and always worth the little drive from chino hills. I usually order a variety of different items based on my mood. Today I came in for the Pad See Ew with tofu and their Spicy Mint Leave Fried Rice for lunch since I couldn't decide. The rice is always a must for me though. I was seated promptly on a Monday @ 1PM and my order taken promptly after I made up my mind. Each item is $13.5 before tax and tip and the portions were good enough for me to bring home leftovers for dinner. I'll be back soon when I crave Thai again.

Very crowded on a Sunday night. However, my party of three was seated right away. Nice interior and parking is available. It tends to feel cold inside, bring a sweater. We ordered: Pad see ew with beef, Garlic Pork Spare Ribs and Pad Kra Pao with chicken medium spicy. Everything was served hot and tasted good. Ribs were hard to eat because it was cut so small. Service was friendly and attentive. Great spot to visit.

Sanamluang is a local institution in the Pomona/Claremont area. I remember the old Pomona location fondly- a bit dicey but with the prices and portions it was our go-to Thai spot for groups after church activities. The new location is clean and a bit fancier albeit with higher prices. The staples here have always been- pad see ew, duck on rice (great if you like dark meat), and of course the mango sticky rice. This visit we tried and liked the shrimp fried rice so I would recommend that as well. Some of the noodle dishes can run a bit sweet here- but the generous portions are hard to match. Glad to report that Sanamluang is still putting out tasty Thai food after all these years.

I'm really glad I discovered this place, it's one of the best Thai restaurants I've had in a while. I really enjoyed every dish I ordered, with only minor nitpicks. 49. Pad Kee Mao with Shrimp - excellent. One of the best pad kee maos I've had in LA. The noodles are excellently flavored and it tastes like it was cooked with a lot of oil at high heat. My only minor complaint is that the shrimp was a bit over cooked but not a big deal, it was still good. 9. Garlic Pork Spare Ribs - overall it was fine, the ribs were very tender and crispy. It was a bit too salty and the flavor was a bit one-dimensional though. Probably will not get this again. 94. Sautéed Eggplant - I really liked the eggplant, excellently cooked and very flavorful, I just wish there were more eggplant. Felt like there were more peppers and onions than eggplant in the dish. Service and environment were both excellent. It was a very modern and bright atmosphere. But neither factor into my rating, my rating is just for the food.

One of the best Thai food in SoCal. I always drop by here on my way back from Vegas. Clean and friendly. Food is delicious, portion size is generous, price is reasonable. Easy parking.

Food is so good. Was craving Thai and this is the spot to go! Authentic Thai restaurant. ***FYI: parking is limited in the designated lot. Please don't park in the other side near the dentist area, your car will get towed**** We got Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, and Red Curry. I got medium spicy for the PAD KEE MOW, I loved it!!! Flavor is so balanced with the heat of the spice. I think next time I'll get a level spicier than medium. Pad Thai was also very good! The fresh bean spouts and the lime wedge really gives it flavor. The Red Curry was also good but not as spicy as I would have liked. The ambiance was very well lit during dinner time. The place feels very clean and modern. Service was good too. They would check up to see if you're doing ok and refill water without asking. I would come here again!

I've been a Sanamluang customer for a long time. I love the food and usually appreciate the friendly service, but honestly, I can't take it anymore. Please don't come here when you're really hungry--especially on holidays. Parking has become terrible, and the wait times are unacceptable. We ordered four dishes. The wings and soups came out quickly, but the fried rice took forever. It was ridiculous. The first server kept saying, "It's coming," without actually checking with the kitchen. Later, a second server explained that the other dishes were brought out first, which didn't really address the issue. The worst part was when my no-veggie fried rice for my son came out wrong. I even attached a photo as evidence. We understand that holidays can be busier than usual, but this is not the first time this has happened to us. After reading other reviews, it's clear we're not the only ones experiencing these problems. I really hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and fixes these ongoing issues.

This is one of our favorite Thai places. I've been coming here over the last 20 years and it's always been good. When we went we were a party of 9 with 4 kids. We were seated right away and served right away. We got our usual which is the pad see ew, pad Thai, and I got their chicken sate or skewers. Everything came out timely and hot. Service was good and they checked on us occasionally. I think the only thing that has changed is the parking situation outside. They have signs on the bathroom saying that if you park in the wrong area you could get towed since they share the lot with other businesses. Just something to be mindful of if you're parking away from the restaurant. Great spot and we'll continue to come back for the great time and awesome food.

Very good food here. I'd rate the food overall a solid 4 to 4.5 stars. The service on a Sunday afternoon was definitely lacking. After dealing with a few surly servers, I actually found myself snapping at a few of them. The service dropped the experience down about 1.5 Stars. My guess is a lot of these servers are local college students, so they don't really care. The one middle aged lady was the only exception. Her service was great. As for as the individual dishes, the Tom Yom Kum was an amazing dish. Just the right amount of sour, and the shrimp were perfect. The papaya salad with the dried shrimp was another standout. Will definitely order this dish again. The chicken satay was slightly better than average. The eggplant dish was very good. I'll likely order this one again. Finally, we finished with the mango sticky rice dessert dish. It too was a standout. They were actually peeling the mango and preparing it in the front area. Very appealing. I'll come back again soon, but would prefer to try it again on a weekday night for hopefully better service.

If you're lucky enough to be in the area and have a craving for Thai food you definitely need to swing by and get yourself some good grub. This time around I was fortunate to be in the area and got some pad see u/chicken to go. I should've placed my order 45 minutes before arriving because they were packed and I was thinking 20 minutes would be enough time for me to get my order but I was wrong. The restaurant was booming with customers and there were plenty of to go orders sitting for pickup. Inside was a large area to eat with sections. I'm not sure if they have private rooms but I'll look next time I'm there. They have ample parking and street parking too. Come out and enjoy some Thai Cuisine.

I went on a Wednesday around 5pm and we were seated pretty much right away! I got the rad nah with tofu. It's a big portion (enough for 2 servings) and reasonably priced! I got it with soft tofu, but fried is available. They don't skimp on the tofu or greens. Overall, a good dish but flavor-wise, seems to be less traditional than other rad nahs I'm used to and not the most flavorful I also tried one of their fried taro apps. It was savory and crispy. Food was delicious and tasted authentic. Service was nice and quick. Staff are polite. Restroom is clean. The restaurant is spacious. Well decorated. Price is reasonable with generous portion. Good parking space. Highly recommend. Authentic flavor like I would have them back home in Thailand.

Been before a few times already but brought a friend to try this place. She gave the food 10/10 which is great, Sanamluang did me proud! We ordered Pad Thai with mild spice (didn't really taste any spice but probably for the better), chicken satay, beef jerky, and chicken fried rice. The portions were generous and flavors were all great! They were very busy and it's understandable for a Friday night but service was good and not too hard to flag someone when you need something. Recommendation for whenever anyone orders a seafood dish, make a half lime/lemon and fish sauce w chili for a dip, just ask them for the limes at the restaurant and diy, it's great on fried rice and dipping our shrimp from the Pad Thai in it. Only drawback was the parking, don't know what happened but half of the lot, the other property owners won't allow Sanamluang parking, but if those business is closed for the night, why not?!‍‍ Oh, and with our 4 dishes and split between 3 people with tip, it was under $25 per person! Thank you for not super inflating prices on us

Despite the long lines and wait times that suggest this is still a top spot, our recent visit showed a clear decline from what it used to be. We arrived early for dinner to avoid crowds and were seated quickly on the left (west) side of the restaurant. Here's what went wrong: 1. Uncomfortable temperature -- That side was bitterly cold, with strong drafts making it feel like winter indoors. We even had to retrieve our jackets from the car to stay warm. When we politely asked to switch to the warmer side, the host apologetically said no. 2. Tom Yum Goong arrived cold -- This shrimp soup is supposed to come hot, with the table-side fire pot just to keep it warm. Ours was lukewarm at best when served, and after 10 minutes, the combination of the fire and the freezing air failed to heat it up properly. 3. Garlic riblets disappointed -- These used to be a standout dish--tender, flavorful meat without any coating. Now they're breaded, which changes the texture and taste entirely for the worse. 4. Everything else cooled too fast -- The cold air caused the rest of our dishes to turn cold quickly, ruining what could have been enjoyable food. Overall, this was a disappointing experience at a place that once delivered consistently great Thai food in a pleasant setting. The issues with temperature control and apparent changes to popular dishes made it feel neglected. I'll be seeking out smaller, family-run Thai spots with unique dishes and more attention to detail instead. Unfortunately, the cold environment left me with a chill that turned into a cold the next day. I hope management addresses these basics--temperature and consistency--so it can regain some of its glory.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I WOULD. This is my go to place when I am in the mood for some good Thai food. I will drive from Redlands, just to go here! LITERALLY. If you plan on going here, be prepared for a line! But the hostess are usually good with managing time & the line so my friend & i, we only waited for about 20 minutes, but it felt like forever because we were so hungry LOL. Great establishment to come to for large groups! we had the house fried rice, seafood soup, pad see ew & chicken. The decor is very detailed but I like how it caters to the culture.
