9 Dishes That Will Make Everyone At Friendsgiving Love You - Miami - The Infatuation

"La Vasca is an old school Spanish spot in Little Havana. It’s one of our favorite Spanish restaurants in Miami, and one of their signature dishes is a whole cochinillo you have to order at least 24 hours in advance. It’s normally a dine-in situation, but we confirmed they offer it for takeout. It’s $250 plus tax and the next best thing if you don’t have a backyard capable of supporting a Caja China." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino

Saying goodbye to 2025 at Sancho Restaurant was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The process began with the reservation, flawlessly coordinated by Yipsy, who was exceptional. She took the time to walk us through every detail with clarity, patience, and genuine care. Her coordination and attention to detail set the tone well before we even arrived. When we got there, our group of 14, including kids, was warmly welcomed, and everything was perfectly prepared ahead of our arrival. The service was professional and attentive; our server was knowledgeable, helpful, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the evening, explaining everything clearly and managing the group effortlessly. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the live music added the perfect touch. We spent the last three hours of 2025 surrounded by great energy, great vibes, and great people. This level of experience doesn’t happen by accident, it’s the result of strong coordination and leadership behind the scenes, and Yipsy truly delivered. I highly recommend this place and will absolutely be coming back.

Food was amazing. Live music on Sunday was the big surprise. We will be back again. Claudia was very helpful too.

Google
Everything that we ordered was above expectations. We were served by Claudia, who did an exceptional job. In our group we have elderly with food allergies and a special need adult and her attention to their needs were excellent.

Google
I would give this 0 stars if I could. The Monday $12.99 for paella is a LIE. My poor father went to purchase this special and was told it no longer exists until NEXT year. Your restaurant took advantage of two people. Unacceptable. They were told they had to purchase a whole platter for over $100. When brought it home and opened it, rice was BROWN and seafood tasted frozen like it was not even thawed. Very disappointed in the quality. Never going back.

Google
We came for my mom's birthday and we had an amazing time! From the kind and attentive server named Rogelio, to the delicious food, and the incredible presentation of the cochinillo. It was definitely quite the experience and we will definitely be coming back! They also have great happy hour Mondays and Tuesday from 4-10 and on Wednesdays unlimited tapas and wine for $30 a person. I definitely recommend checking them out!

Google
Food was so fresh and our waitress Nara was so helpful and served so delicately. She was truly insightful in guiding us since it was our first tome. Thank you great night with Spanish music and tradition!!!

Google
We had such a great time dining at Sancho’s Restaurant! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. A special shout-out to our waitress Andrés, who made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had everything we needed. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her positive attitude made the meal extra enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back soon and recommending Sancho’s to friends and family. Great food, excellent service, and a fantastic overall vibe!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Sancho. The staff and service was fabulous, we were a party of 8 celebrating one's 80th birthday, and everything was served efficiently and with style. The suckling pig dish was delicious, spectacular even! The presentation with which they brought it out and served it was a highlight. The musical accompaniment was wonderful, too, including the staff singing "Feliz Cumpleaños" to the birthday girl. Our family visiting from out of state were amazed, and the guest of honor thrilled. It wasn't a great time but

Richard J.

Yelp
We went on a Friday night. The cochinillo was very good. They make a show of it. They turn off the lights they make an announcement. Someone from your party breaks the plate that they used to cut it with. The paella was also very good as were the appetizers like croquetas were also good. The deserts were also good. The ambience sucked. It was very, very loud as a group came in to do their Christmas party and took over most of the restaurant. They brought their own DJ. The house would not quiet their DJ. They had promised us they would. The staff was ineffective. Later when that group left they had a DJ with karaoke. The service was slow. I would've given this restaurant four stars except for the ambience which really should've knocked it down to two stars.

Yelp
My hair stylist told me about this place about 2 years ago because I always went to KFC before cutting my hair. One day I gave Sancho a try and KFC has never seen me again! This place has good daily special, great prices and good quality and variety. Last week we came for the Thursday dinner with the violinist. The attentions were great (as always) and the food was excellent, I had the pork filet Mignon and my girlfriend the rabo encendido. The music wasn't my favorite because it was too fast for being at a restaurant, it felt more like a party music. I like coming here for lunch and also the Paella special on Mondays!

Yelp
I lived a few minutes away from this restaurant for almost 30 years and never went to it. A few days ago I was looking for a place to take my mom for Mother's Day and I found this with very good reviews on Google and decided to give it a try. SERVICE: I didn't think that I needed a reservation but I suggest you make one. I'm not sure if it was because of Mother's Day but the place was packed. We got lucky that we only waited 5mins for a table. One of the waiters came to us waiting by the entrance and he quickly grabbed a table for us. The place had like 7 tables with 12+ ppl in each of them. It was insanely packed but our waiters were smiling, funny, professional, and moved pretty quick considering the amount of people there. Great service. FOOD: Delicious, delicious, delicious. It's rare to find chivo (goat) but they had it and it was tender and delicious. My husband ordered sangria and I had a sip of it and it was also very good. The food is Spanish so there's a lot of good food. ATMOSPHERE: Good stuff. So much fun! They had a singer and he was truly excellent. Then at some point they turned off ALL the lights and two waiters came out holding a huge tray with a whole pig on it and one of those firework thing that they always set up in the VIP areas of clubs when you order bottle service ? (Hopefully I'm making sense) Well they had that on the pig and they were bringing it to the middle of the restaurant. Everyone was clapping and making noise. The head waiter had a microphone and said that they would cut it like they did back then for the kings, he then grabbed a large plate and hit the pig in a few areas to cut it. Then he said "and to show you this is a real plate we'll brake it". He then slammed the plate on the ground and everyone went crazy cheering. There was so much excitement. It was full with many generations and everyone was enjoying the fun and food. It was great. Not sure if all this was just for Mother's Day but it's worth visiting. It's been around for more than 30 years and with good reason.

Yelp
I was here on Saturday and although the atmosphere was cozy, the food was not the best. The seafood paella was tasteless and very little seafood for the cost of the dish. The term of the meat was not respected because we specifically asked that it be cooked well and if you looked for a veterinarian they still saved the animal.

Yelp
I've been here several times the food never disappoints the restaurant ambience is very nice, elegant and the waiters are very attentive. Sometimes they have live music which adds to the experience.
google avatar

Josefina G.

Yelp
Everything should improve including their portions, prices and show. This is the 4th time we go for dinner throughout the years to this restaurant and will never be going back.
google avatar

Katherine M.

Yelp
The food was yummy. We had patatas bravas and they were good but I've had better and they didn't taste authentic. The churrasco though, was great. The French fries that came with them were literally drenched in oil and burnt. I didn't like it. But the service was good and the environment was good especially that we got to see a "show" of them they brought the pig that takes 4 hours to cook. It was a cool experience. They turn off the lights and start singing and cut the pig traditionally. It was cool. Other than that, just a standard Spanish restaurant.
google avatar

Carl T.

Yelp
I ordered the seafood Paella to go. It was excellent, full of Spanish taste. I ordered a bottle of Albariño (Santiago Ruiz), but it was overpriced!
google avatar

Yelp
My parents and I went for happy hour and we were not disappointed! The ambiance was great. Our server, Nara, was very friendly. We had some warm bread, and shared the gambas al ajillo, the croquetas de bacalao and ham, a piece of tortilla, and the garbanzos fritos. Everything was delicious. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.

Mirtha L.

Yelp
google avatar

Luis F.

Yelp
I can tell you the cochinillo is so tender you can cut it with a fork. The Lubina is spectacular. Has nothing to envy with the one they serve in Madrid at La Dorada

Amy P.

Yelp
1st of many visits. Food and service top notch. But the food!! You have to visit to understand the full experience.

Yelp

Yelp
Foods are very salty, and very hard to communicate with the server in English. Will not go there again

Yelp
The restaurant is not cheap whatsoever, yet they served my husband a "steak" that basically looked like a skillet cookie of breading and served my daughter frozen fish, which the waiter had no problem admitting to. Never coming here again, even if it is within a walking distance of my house.
google avatar

Miguel C.

Yelp
Overpriced for the amount of food given I had the oxtail with moro rice and sweet plantains. The taste was good, but the portions of the oxtail was way too small. It was one big bone and one small bone
google avatar

Lou S.

Yelp
1st time trying Sancho and I was a bit disappointed. Ordered hot tapas to start out. Garbanzos fritos, croquetas, and a mix of fried shrimp, squid, and fish that had so much breading that you could not tell which was which. All 3 were definitely sub-par. We then ordered Paella with chorizo, pork, and chicken. The food took a long time, well over an hour. The taste was fine and the portions big. However, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. Felt is was quite overpriced as well. I will not be going back any time soon.
google avatar

Basilios K.

Yelp
This place is ridiculous for the prices they charge. A quick search would have yielded much better places with character, better food and proper service. Don't bother, but if you already did, try Casa Juancho or El Rincon Asturiano for a proper Spanish experience.

Yelp
First time dinning by a friend recommendation. When we came the restaurant was not busy and we hesitate to stay but then decided to give it a try. The Sangria Blanca was delicious, strong and sweet like it should. The appetizers were on point and the entre an absolute paradise. The meat was juicy and well seasoned, vegetables were actually fresh and so the plantain. Dessert with torta San Marcos and vanilla ice cream to finish the course. I have to admit I was impressed with the service and the food. Shout out to you guys!! We'll done

Yelp
We live nearby this restaurant, and we've been talking about trying it out for quite a long time ... and we finally did last night. Being a Monday night, it wasn't too busy with plenty of available tables, and we were sat fairly quickly. They have a large bar and a set up for live music, probably for weekends I would think. Our server was very friendly, and informed us of the specials of the day, which included 50% off the sangria. We loved the basket of bread they brought... It tasted like the crust of a wood-fired oven pizza! We both had the sangria and it was delicious. Considering it was not a busy night, our food did take a very long time to come out, but I'm guessing it was made fresh to order. I was very happy with my dish, the Zarzuela de Mariscos. Very tasty! Would like to come back another time with a larger group, and order of one of their Paellas.

Francie C.

Yelp
Great food with excellent service! Not one to give a review but this restaurant deserves it. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Gretzky F.

Yelp
I love the cochinillo and the whole show that they do when you offer one. The cochinillo is so tender but crispy at the same time. Love their food
google avatar

Jennette P.

Yelp
Amazing service!! Friday nights they live flamenco singer and dancer. It totally sets the Spanish ambiance. The food is authentic Spanish and you can't go wrong with anything you order. The red sangria is delicious and not sweet. I highly recommend making reservations to sit inside when there is live entertainment. They have a bar but without seating. You can order bottle of wines or pitchers of sangria. You can also bring your own bottle of wine and pay a small corkage fee.
google avatar

Betsy D.

Yelp
We were looking for very good Spanish food and definitely it was the place. They have a very good 5J ham, an excellent cheese, and the wine doesn't stay behind. The service was really nice and the ambiance perfectly to share among family and friends.

Kelly M.

Yelp
This restaurant was nicely decorated. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We had tapas and paella...superb!

Annette R.

Yelp
This Spanish restaurant has great food and Juan Gil wines which is my favorite. Great service all around especially Andres!
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
This restaurant is fantastic!!! The food is equally matched by the service. If you've never experienced REAL Spanish food you really need to come here. It will change your mind on the way you see it. 12/10 Nosolen provided us incredible service. I can't wait to come back! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Yelp
We booked ahead for Mother's Day because hey, it's Mother's Day, we knew it would be PACKED. We arrive about 10 mins earlier, they said we had to wait because our table was not ready. Again, I get it, I'm early, it's Mother's Day. We waited, ONE HOUR, with reservations! They finally sit us, another 15-20 min wait to just get a drink order in. From our 8P reservation, we started eating around 10:15P-10:30P. All and all: FOOD is GREAT but you will wait and service is not great.

Niady T.

Yelp
Great place to host a private event! They have incredible packages and great service! The staff was so friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Highly recommend you consider them for, birthflarge gathering or family event.

Celeste C.

Yelp
My son wanted to celebrate his Birthday at Sancho specifically because of The cochinillo. It did not disappoint. You need a reservation and It needs to be preordered with a deposit. They make a whole little show about it. It was very good. Nicely seasoned, juicy, very lean and the skin nice and crunchy. Grant you we bought for 6 six people and 8 ate of The cochinillo. I was a little disappointing in the portions of the sides: yuca, moros & plantains. I think they could been a little more splendid with the moros ( that's a cheap side). The rest of the party enjoyed other more Spanish dishes. Again disappointed in the portions. Their sides could be more plentiful especially for the prices - not cheap. Great place for a celebration. Live music. Friday Spanish dance. Good service.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
Great service and nice ambiance. One of the few, REAL Spanish restaurants around. Made reservations for 6 for the cochinito and were sat down immediately. We shared the cochinito and sides between 6 of us and it was more than enough. Appetizers were also delicious, especially the croquetas. Sangria was yummy. Live music was nice. Would return.

Lorena R.

Yelp
Excelente experiencia siempre que venimos pasamos un buen tiempo en familia .Paella 10/10 croquetas de bacalao 10/10 todo exquisito como siempre . Y el servicio de Nara siempre impecable gracias ! Ambiente 100/10
google avatar

Misty S.

Yelp
Stop here for a quick bite to eat after a long day of touring a few colleges in the area. The ambience, the staff, and the food were all amazing. If you're ever in the area stop by, it's worth it.
google avatar

Yailyn P.

Yelp
Where do I start?! I have eaten here a couple times and have also planned an anniversary party for about 20-30 people, and all I can say is that the experience has always been phenomenal. The staff are highly attentive and helpful when it comes to recommendations in food and drinks. They have live music on the weekends, so it's very relaxing, specially for a family dinner. The food is delicious, and very authentic to the Spanish cuisine. They also have a great wine selection and homemade lemonade (kids will love). Servings are large, therefore 2 can easily share. For dessert I love the cafe Bombon, that's what I usually go for for in Spanish restaurants, and it didn't disappoint. We had the stuffed peppers, coquettes, tabla mixta, and serrano ham for appetizers. They have hand cut potatoes, and a great veggie mix side. Definitely a place to try when you're in the mood for tapas, wine, or just Spanish food. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Ambience it is nice Service very good Wine list good Entertainment was nice My food in the scale from 1 to 10 (10 the best) Bread and butter very good an 8 Croquetas a 7 Paella Valenciana a 4 (overseasoned and the rice not close to the taste of paella valenciana, the seafood was good an plentiful) The cochinillo 3 To my taste not even close to the cochinillo en Casa Candido, en Segovia Spain and The texture of the meat was to soft (mushi), and unsalted Dessert and 8 Was arroz con leche

Amanda G.

Yelp
10/10 recommend. The rabo encendido is delicious as well as the garbanzo frito. Will be coming back!
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Came here for my mom's birthday with my family, she had heard great things however it didn't fully meet our expectations. My family got the paella and it was okay, the individual paella were supposed to come with maduros and they didn't come out until like 15 minutes after starting the meal. I got the churrasco, and I realize this isn't the best place for this but it was super alright, nothing special. The service was mediocre at best, our server seemed to not really udnerstand what we ordered and at the end we got the wrong check. The location is also not ideal for the type of restaurant since it seems misplaced where it is. Also we did see tiny German cockaroaches on the windows inside near where we were which didnt make the food very appealing especially for the price of the food... Overall 3 stars might be generous

Samantha M.

Yelp
Planned to have a birthday dinner at Sancho and was treated with amazing customer service from beginning to end. All employees ensured we had an amazing time from the second we sat down till we left the restaurant. The food was beyond amazing and the environment was everything that we imagined and more. I wanted to thank the staff for making my moms birthday such a special worry free event
google avatar

Matty M.

Yelp
Excellent food! Great service! Whenever I want healthy delicious local food I go there. From the soups to the entrees everything has always been perfect. Highly recommend 100% especially the coffee :)

Nora P.

Yelp
Very delicious seafood Paella, this restaurant is under new administration, is a coming back place for me. Server very professional and friendly. They have a good wine selection too.

I I.

Yelp
Service, good but prices don't match with food. I mean, the food had a delicious flavor, in general, but the size of the plates were very small. Besides, we asked for a Caesar salad and there was no green lettuce in the plate.??????? I told the waiter there were only croutons and chicken and he , very kindly, changed it and came with the same "thing" but with the croutons in another plate. they definitely, don't know what a Caesar salad is. No green at all.

Miriam G.

Yelp
My cousin took me there for my birthday and I loved it! Service was incredible as well as their food. We shared wine and several tapas. My favorite was the pepillo peppers stuffed with cod fish on the most exquisite sauce! I highly recommend you make reservations if you go on a weekend night, as we went between lunch and dinner time on a weekday and by the time we left it was already getting packed.
google avatar

Eugenia A.

Yelp
The place is clean, big, the lunch menu offers a $10 lunch option but chose to order tapas instead. We ordered ham croquetas. They were slightly burnt, fried in a horrible tasting oil. No chance of bechamel sauce at all. Ordered fabada which was good except expensive at $12 for a very small portion. Next was the huevos rotos. Now this was pretty awful. The cubed potatoes were some less cooked than others in the same oil as the croquetas. This oil is terrible tasting. The ham was about the cheapest jamón serrano they could use, so the whole dish was not good at all. Last, was strips of beef with onions and peppers. This was ok but by then the bad taste of the cooking oil spoiled anything else for me. The restaurant is supposed to be a Spanish restaurant but the menu is pretty much as a Cuban restaurant. I do not recommend it.

Ludwig F.

Yelp
This is the finest Spanish restaurant in our area. It feels like a restaurant that belongs in Coral Gables, because of the elegance of the decor. The suckling pig is espectacular, and so are the croquettes
google avatar

Mayerlin B.

Yelp
Were there last saturday and We have to Walk out of the restaurant because the staff does not care about us .. we seat ask for sometjing to drink asked the waitress to take our order and watch him how he took other order serve the food to other people and we still waiting.. What a shame good food but horrible service

Mario C.

Yelp
This is by far the worst restaurant I have been to. We went to eat on 1/16/2022. If I could, I would give no stars. The "Manager" was very unprofessional (THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL "leader" I have dealt with) and DO NOT really know what a Manager role is and how he should take care of customers. We made a reservation on 1/15/2022 for 12 people. The reservation was for an entire Cochinito. We had a friend visiting from Spain and we wanted to surprise her. This "Manager" made us feel very unwelcomed. The only positive thing out of the horrible experience we had was the person who took care of us. She was SUPER nice and very professional. it goes without saying that we will never visit this place again and we will not recommend it to any friends and families.
google avatar

Ramon G.

Yelp
I went last night with my wife and had a great time. The meal was delicious, we had only tapas, as we wanted to try different things, they were all great. The octopus was the best, it was very tender and tasty. The sangria was strong and the flamenco show was entertaining. A table next to us was celebrating a birthday and they were having the lechoncito, a very small roasted pig that the servers then cut tableside with a plate, at the end they break the plate. Apparently it's the Spanish way. Last but not least, the servers were very attentive. We'll be back .
google avatar

Tati F.

Yelp
Very fast and good service. Food was good. On Friday night they had live Spanish music.
