Sand Bar

I don’t want to ruin the reputation by giving it less stars, food and atmosphere and most people were great we really like this place! However the female red-head bartender was extremely rude from the second we spoke to her- refused to serve us, giving us a lot of attitude and took our IDs in the back for 10 minutes then came out and wouldn’t get anything we ordered (we are both 28) and the male bartender had to do it all. I feel bad for anyone who had to work with her

We are new to the Island...our first visit to Sand Bar. We sat at a table near the bar. Live music was good...not too loud. Waiter was excellent. Prices were so reasonable. Cheapest item was fries which we ordered. Serving size was enough for two and they were excellent. Tuna Tacos were good, well portioned and reasonable...same with the burger. Setting is like paradise...right at the beach. They are dog friendly. Service was FAST. Were definitely coming back! Crowd seemed friendly. We only interacted with a few other patrons...but they were all cool.

Delicious shrimp 🦐 with spicy sauce. Great location! Live music too! 2023.. still great food and music!

Music by Jimmy Brogan was great. Bartender could use some help in how to treat her customers. Otherwise. Nice.

Bartenders are amazing. Music is always top notch. Relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

My wife and I stopped in for the happy hour and live music based on a friend's recommendation and we were so glad we did. It was a bit crowded since it was Saturday night but we did find a table on the outside patio. Our waiter was quick to take our drink order and bring menus. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Veracruz sanwich. The waiter said he always recommends it but suggested getting it as a wrap. Good call. It was absolutely delicious. My wife really enjoyed her BBQ Burger topped with crispy onion. We will definitely be back.

Been here a couple of times over the years. Always the perfect little spot to have a few drinks, eat some good food, and listen to some solid acoustic jams. My girlfriend and I took our pup here yesterday and needless to say he loved it as well! If you want to have a good time in a low key spot on the beach, this is the place to be

This will be our 30th year staying at the Engleside Inn. The first thing we do when we arrive is to head to the Sand Bar. Their Tuna Tacos are fabulous. They're packed with fresh sushi grade Tuna and are quite filling. For an added treat ask for some avacado to be added to your taco. We will have them for lunch or dinner every day of our stay and then get some takeout for when we return home. The staff is really friendly and the service is great. . I

Go for the drinks, cool breeze, beach vibe and occasional live music. But only eat if absolutely necessary. Food was regrettably all sub-par. Served on small plastic Solo plates. It's a beach bar - I get that. But minimal effort was put into taste and presentation. Service was fine. Young lady tried but was clearly new. Sure it will get better as the season goes on.

We sat down pretty quick in a closed off area on the sand. Even though it's on the beach you cannot see the water because of the sand dunes. It's still a nice little area to sit. The day we were there they had a limited menu which mostly consisted of fried foods and only burgers. We chose to only order a few appetizers. The portions were very small and most over cooked. Even the mozzarella sticks were inedible. They were cooked so long they were rockhard and had almost no cheese on the inside. Onion Petra were also way over cooked and hard. The jerk wings were decent but nothing special. The service was very slow and the waiter kept forgetting things including part of our order. There was supposed to be live music starting at 3 PM however, when we left at 3:30 they were not playing.

Was here last week with ten of us. We all ordered food and everything was spot on. I was surprised that the wait was minimal. My Mahi sandwich was very good. Every bar in lbi is a bit pricey but they only have a 10 week window to make money, so keep it in mind. I ll be back , hopefully soon

What is not to like... sit on the beautiful beach and come up for lunch and a drink or just a drink :) The service was great. We stayed at the Engleside Hotel and ate at the Engleside Restaurant also - both highly recommended.

Great place on the beach for a quick bite and some cheaper drinks from the place next door. Owner is a nice guy as well. Ms

Love this place. We have been coming here for the last 5yrs and the service is always the same and the food is always consistent. You will never go wrong for a quick drink or quick snack. Happy hour is always fun at the bar and relaxing with live music.

Tucked behind a hotel pool so my expectations were low. Amusing waitstaff, great selection of canned beers, and an surprisingly delicious bleu cheese burger made my day. Maybe we were lucky, but we're definitely coming back.

When I asked what beers are included in happy hour I was told to "look up it's right in front of you" overall very very rude condescending and inappropriate behavior for a bartender. Will absolutely not return

Service was friendly. Servers were pleasant. Breeze off the ocean. Cheddar cheeseburger was cold. Fries were cold. Really .... Cold. Fried clam strips were cold and mostly breading. Disappointing food experience. Nice atmosphere though. Appears to be a place to have drinks and hang out.

Overall the experience was very good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They have outdoor seating which is a plus during this time. The food was good for bar food. We were a large group and the waiter was great with us.

Had a burger and fries (my usual, LoL). The burger was pretty good, the fries I could have done without Outdoor seating near the sand dunes in an enclosed area is nice. But watch out for those pesky seagulls that fly in and sneak around for food. Everything is served on disposable (plates, cups, utensils) which I found a bit odd considering it's not exactly the cheapest place to eat. Our waitress was friendly but didn't really interact much with us.

We come here for lunch all the time. Drinks are reasonable and strong. Food is always good especially the Brie and turkey wrap. Great beer selection and frozen drinks. This is a must stop for lunch when in LBI.

The service was terrible, my server was named Tyler and he didn't take my order for close to 45 minutes after being reminded by other staff members to take my order. Then after we finished and paid he cursed at my friends and I. The other staff was nice and the food was alright, but not worth the wait it took at all.

We took our 4 kids for an early dinner on a weeknight. The food and drinks were good. Very kid-friendly and relaxed. We sat in the sand, so our youngest had something to play with while we finished our food. The food was hot and yummy. Nothing terribly inspired or different on the menu, but with kids, or picky eaters, sometimes that's what you want. We would go back.

This is the outdoor bar/restaurant to the engleside. It has awesome food, great bartenders (Anthony in particular ) and bands there on the weekends for HH. My favorite food there are the tuna tacos. It's sushi pan seared tuna in soft tortillas with this great chipotle mayo. They are so awesome and have that smoky grilled flavor. All the other food is also great. It has the lighter, more casual menu to the indoor engleside restaurant. Always a great time!!

they took away the mac n cheese bites. i am furious!!!! it's a good restaurant and i used to always go there but i'm heart broken. that's tuff.

Met the girls for lunch here two weekends in a row. Very casual, very beach. Staff is super friendly, menu has a lot of options (food and cocktails), and everything comes out fast (so you don't miss too much beach time). Lobster roll was on special this week - totally recommend.

This bar is wonderful. The servers are always polite and helpful. Last time we had Sam, she was cute and bubbly. The time before that we sat on the fun white chairs in the sand and had a charismatic server named Sean. Highly recommend for family and large groups, the live music is a plus as well.

disappointed! the biggest excitement for this place is you get to dig your feet in the sand. $7.50 i paid for a spiked iced tea that was the size of my hand. my boyfriend and i ordered off the starter section and BOTH our "appetizer" serving size was the size of a plastic dessert plate. fortunately, the wait staff was very friendly. this place is very deceiving and very over priced for what you actually order!

Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch during the tourist season and we were seated right away. The outdoor beach vibe is cool and the waitress came right over and took our drink order. We ordered a variety of dishes and they were all good especially for the volume they were pushing out. Prices were reasonable. We will try it again in the Fall when it is a little less crowded.

Food was decent, but the service was horrendous, we were ignored for tables that were seated after us. After waiting 25 minutes to get menus, by which point every other table(who came in 5-10 minutes after us), had placed drink and food orders. When finally given our menus the waitress threw them on the table and said here you go and left, only to come back another 20 minutes later. The pattern continued as we were ignored for tables filled with an older crowd. Not friendly towards mid-twenties folks it seems.

Great outdoor bar. Right on beach. Food very good for a beach bar. Fun drinks and have live music in season. Highly recommended. Not sure what the comments are about bartenders. Are all very nice guys.

Love this place. Food was good and cheap too. Drinks were strong and you can sit right on the sand. Kid friendly too. Tyler is a great server!

Had a great experience at this restaurant. Two of us had the turkey avocado panini. The were excellent fresh and filling. Another has the shrimp tacos which were fresh and delicious. The mozzarella sticks were very good and served with marinara sauce. The frozen margarita were a hit. The waitress service was attentive!

Food and service is always great. Great for kids and adults. Fantastic drink and food specials daily. It makes our stay at the Engleside so much better.

I wanted to make sure that I was reviewing the outside restaurant at the Engleside, and not the more upscale, white tablecloth restaurant indoor. The Sand Bar is an outdoor bar situated around the outdoor pool that competes with the Tiki Bar at the hotel next door. For what it is - very, very casual, just off of the beach type of place. The paninis are pretty good, although they left some ingredients off of mine. Fries were great and served piping hot. The down side is the price of the drinks for their size - not much more than about 3 or 4 ounces in a plastic cup. The worst is that they close at 8 p.m. and we were there on a Saturday. You'd think that an outdoor place that plays live music might do well to stay open longer, as everyone then simply walks across the street to their competition. Also, the waitstaff makes no point in hiding the fact that they'd like you out as close to 8 as possible.

Wonderful staff. Delicious mixed drinks and great entertainment. I ordered the Frozen Sand Bar Lemonade (twice). The Frozen Arnold Palmer was good too. We also ordered fried onions, which was pretty good. Rylea was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. She was Quick, friendly, playful and patient with us while we asked questions and never once seemed flustered or annoyed. Fantastic place. I'll be back

This is the worst bar I've been to on LBI. Their drinks are essentially water, and the bartenders are rude and bitter. The food was soggy and had definitely been sitting out. The customer base seems to be an older crowd (50s- 60s), so definitely don't go here if you are young and want to have a good time. Walk 15 ft next door to the Seashell and you will have a great experience, with actual good drinks and friendly bartenders. My family and friends come to LBI every year, and none of us will ever go to this bar again because of the obnoxious experience we had a couple of weeks ago with one of the bartenders. We talked to the manager, and he could not have cared less about our horrible experience. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere.

I WOULD HAVE PUT ZERO STARS IF IT WERE POSSIBLE. DO NOT WASTE MONEY HERE. IT TOOK US 25 MINUTES JUST TO GET DRINKS. They are overpriced and there was a hair in mine. The service is a joke. The owner rolled his eyes at me when I asked about the status of our drink order. It was not even crowded then, it was midday. I really think a place like this should take pride in making its customers happy since everyone here is on vacation. It killed the vibe of our day and we immediately left and went to the bar next door. It's dirty, unwelcoming, and overpriced for tiny little drinks made with mixers I can buy at the grocery store. Disgusting establishment.

I have been here a few times in the beginning of the season, when there were not many people there and have sat on the beach area. Each time I have never received any acknowledgment from the waitstaff. The first time we actually asked both waiters if they could take our order and they said they would be right back and they came back up to the beach area a few times after and still didn't take our order until we asked for a second time. The next time I was there the waiters did not even acknowledge we were there. We finally went to the bar to order our drinks. People sat down after us and received food before we even had a hello from the wait staff. Even as we were leaving the waiter in our area did not even make eye contact with us. It should be a very cool place, the drinks and food aren't bad, expensive but expected on the beach, and being able to sit on the beach is awesome. The service makes this place horrible.

Terrible food, overpriced drinks and all the bugs in my drink made me want to throw my cup back at the waiter. Disgusting soggy wings also which were 10$...
