Yelp
This review is regarding my lunch experience on May 1.
A bunch of my corkers and I had stop by Sundeck at/around it first opened which we thought were disappointing. That said, I was skeptical returning back here for lunch nor did I recommend others for business lunches.
Fast forward to my last visit.
LOCATION: I always get confused how to get there because of all the "forks" I encounter when driving within the vicinity of and especially because it is shared with residential homes. Then again, I'm pretty sh*t when it comes to directions.
EXTERIOR: Once you arrive, drive past the building where you would observe the front entrance to the building. It is a bit hidden, if you were not looking for it. I usually go to the back/bottom of the location just because the scene is better than office building.
PARKING: You can park anywhere that is available, unless it is marked. I like to park at the back/bottom. It is the left drive way, right before Sundeck, where it would lead you to pretty yard and what it looks like you can hold a day party or evening outdoor party out on the balcony. There are usually a lot of available parking there.
INTERIOR: The remodel made the place more modern and new, despite the exterior of the restaurant. Averagely decorated, plenty of space to walk between tables and outdoor/patio seating is available.
SERVICE: They must have been short on staff as there was really one main waitress there that day. The wait time, at the front podium, was longer than I am used to. Once we got connected with the host(?), we were seated right away. FYI - we made a reservation ahead of time. She greeted us with a smile, professionalism and on point with her small talk. (Luckily she does not read this, otherwise if she knows who wrote this, she would be piiiiiiiissed that I had forgotten her name. J/K I actually don't know if she remember mines)
From the moment we were seated, and thed changed tables (because we were seated right where the AC was blowing), the waitress, host(?), and runner(?) were polite, smiles all around, and never interrupted us in the middle of a topic or chat, which I have to say, very considerate.
My colleague spotted the chef and asked her a quick question. The reason why I am bringing this up, the chef seems like a personable and genuine person. Someone you cannot help but be nice too.
FOOD: I was actually looking forward to an old entree that was in the first menu (at/around the time Sundeck just opened) but it was not there. I settled with Lasagna Bolognese. I learned afterwards, that the place had a new chef (3rd?) which explains why the menu looked slightly different.
I didn't read what the ingredients were so when my colleague told me there was no meat in it, I asked for chicken to be included. (turns out there is meat "gabilan ranch grass fed beef" SMH) My first bite, I was amazingly surprised how delicious, tasty and much texture it was. Sold! For an average person, they would have to take half of it home, as the portion was was excellent. Not me, no such thing as left overs in mi casa! I inhaled that son-of-b*tch.
VERDICT: Yeah. I would definitely come back here again (that Marsala reads delish!).
