I wish there were ten stars to give to this new restaurant!! The high quality and homemade recipes with locally sourced ingredients including 20 year old balsamic vinegar make this my new go-to place for breakfast and lunch!! I also stop here to grab a healthy dinner bowl with salmon. The crispy fish is huge and easily 2 meals. The wait staff are on top of it here. The coffee drinks are yummy. I tried their honey vanilla latte and it was the perfect amount of flavorings. I was especially pleased because it was not overly sweet. We went for Mother’s Day brunch and everyone loved their food. The strawberry mascarpone toast was delicious!!

I never felt so comfortable and relaxed at a cafe before! I love the bright atmosphere I feel every time I come, and the vegetables they use are so fresh. The employees here always greet us with a warm smile and wonderful service, adding to the positive atmosphere. Today, I ate the grilled tofu with roasted vegetables. It was super healthy yet filling and very delicious.

My friends and I came here for an impromptu lunch after our first plans fell through and we all agreed things worked out exactly as they needed to! We loved Sandcouch Cafe! The service is fantastic and the owner was so kind and attentive to our table. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito with tater tots, cheese, and scrambled eggs. I'm really picky about my breakfast burritos and this one was superb. I was 100% satisfied. It wasn't overstuffed and the ingredients were high quality--the bacon in particular was really tasty. All my friends loved their dishes, too. One of my friends, who is gluten-free, let us try her chocolate bread, and it was excellent! Super moist and soft and not too sweet. It tasted kind of like a soft brownie, but it was bread—delicious! All in all, we loved our visit to Sandcouch Cafe. I would return with no reservations if I'm ever back in the area. Excellent experience. Thank you guys!

Google
Absolutely love Sandcouch! The aesthetics are cozy, and modern, making it a perfect spot to relax or get some work done. The vibes are amazing, a welcoming atmosphere and great background music. The food portions are very fair for the price, which is refreshing to see these days. Everything I ordered was well-prepared and delicious. Definitely a spot I’ll be visiting often in my future trips.

Google
Beautiful Space, Even Better Food – A Must-Visit Brunch Spot! Sandcouch Café completely blew me away. The atmosphere is modern and calming, perfect for a relaxed brunch or catching up with friends. The attention to detail in both the decor and food presentation is next level. I had the avocado toast with cherry tomatoes and microgreens – hands down one of the freshest and most flavorful toasts I’ve ever had. The heirloom tomatoes were bursting with flavor, and the balsamic drizzle tied it all together perfectly. I also tried a hearty breakfast plate with steak, sautéed mushrooms, eggs, and a fresh tomato salad – everything was seasoned and cooked beautifully. Coffee lovers, don’t miss their specialty drinks – the cardamom latte was a standout! This café is the kind of place you don’t just visit once – you keep coming back. So glad I found it

Google
I had the mascarpone toast and it was so good that I still think about it a few weeks later which is why I’m here to write this review! It was also gorgeously presented. The breakfast sandwich was also delicious, the coffee was good, and staff was friendly and helpful in getting us situated with our 2 little kids.

We had a wonderful brunch on Sunday. The food was delicious, the interior is light and bright and inviting, the service is warm. We had an assortment of items - definitely recommend the avocado, spinach mushroom burrito with crunchy tater tots inside. The toasts (strawberry mascarpone and hummus avocado) and fiesta omelette were excellent as well. Everything was fresh and tasty. We will be back again!

Google
After just one visit, this has become my new favorite spot in DTLA! The smooth, pleasant music married with sparse, chic decor provides a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. A robust menu and attentive staff make the experience easy to navigate. At a less than five minute walk from the 7th Street Metro station, it is the most accessible and convenient cafe in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. With a variety of seating options, including outdoor, a quick stop, casual work space, or just chilling with friends or solo is a breeze. Not to mention the constant activity outside provides endless distraction. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Yelp
Matcha was sweat, and savory. I enjoyed it, best I've ever had. I also ordered an everything bagel it was pretty average considering the price. Matcha is a must go, the bagel won't come back for.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this café! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and the coffee was perfect. The pastries food we ate were fresh and delicious. A great spot to relax or catch up with friends. Highly recommend!

Yun K.

Yelp
The menu was good, the food was cozy, and the ingredients were fresh. They say the chicken is made with fresh ingredients that are not frozen. It's like food at a high-end hotel. The cafe atmosphere was also clean, spacious, and classy, which was nice. I recommended it to my friends.

Yelp
Was looking to try a new breakfast spot/café and I'm so glad I ended up at Sandcouch Cafe--turns out it's the sister location to Basil & Cheese, which I love! They serve some of the best lattes around and have a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. My friend ordered the Siena wrap, and I had the bacon breakfast burrito--both were super tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to sit and relax, catch up with a friend, or get a little work done. Definitely adding this place to my regular rotation!

Yelp
Beautiful, spacious and super clean environment. I was traveling and wanted to try a few different places once but ended up at Sandcouch twice because the chai was perfect, the people (staff and customers) were friendly AND they're dog friendly. The bagel, egg and cheese sandwich had hot bacon - it definitely hadn't been sitting in a tray for hours or microwaved, like so many places do - and was very generous with the egg and cheese. Highly recommend - I didn't sit outside but it looked like a cute patio area as well.

Yelp
Decided to give this cafe a visit after walking past it multiple times. Decided to order their machaca breakfast burrito and it was so freakin good. Lots of meat, melted cheese, and crispy tator tots inside. Comes with a side of delicious salsa. Service was excellent and loved the decor and vibe inside the restaurant. Pro tip: Sit by the window if you love to people watch. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Cute, bright, and airy cafe serving breakfast and lunch. The bacon breakfast burrito was tasty. Cashier was friendly. She told me a few things people liked such as mortadella sandwich & other items. Great addition to Downtown; if you come on a Saturday, make sure to go stop by the mini South Park farmers market down the street. The only thing I can think of is the seating could be more comfortable, like maybe add cushions? I like the music playing in the background which wasn't too loud.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's a spacious and trendy cafe place, high ceilings and comfortable seats, good place for quick bites Service: the cashier was nice and efficient, but either their manager or owner seems rude, when I found rotten leaves in their food and brought to his attention as a courtesy after I'm done eating and about to leave, he kept denying and saying it's not rotten, well you can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep, overall it would have been a four star place, but one star off for ingredients not fresh, and another star off for the unprofessional attitude Food: plenty choices for breakfast and lunch, also there's pasty and coffee menu Grilled Pastrami Sandwich on Sourdough - ** Black Navel Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Sourdough, side of arugula salad, the pastrami meat was tasty although a bit salty, the lettuce was't fresh, so disappointing, obviously rotten from photos Price: moderate portions and slightly overpriced for the food quality, although it's understandable for downtown location

Yelp
Came here for breakfast after loving the atmosphere when I walked by the window the day before. I got the avocado bacon bagel sandwich on a sesame bagel (they also had everything and plain options), and my boyfriend got the avocado bacon cheese croissant sandwich with tomato jam. I also ordered a vanilla matcha latte with whole milk. Everything was simple, tasty, and really satisfying. There was plenty of seating when we arrived, and the staff was actively cleaning tables, which I appreciated. I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Good food - I had vegi breakfast burrito. Also had a latte which was also good. Very cute interior. Relaxed but upscale. Recommend if looking for a nicer / higher-end cafe experience. Service was friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Really cute space and speedy service. We ordered avocado hummus toast and avocado breakfast burrito. Both were great and got to the table in five minutes. I haven't heard the greatest things about the coffee so I skipped it but this place is awesome and has a little vibe. I'm sure great spot to bring your computer during the week too.

Yelp
Stopped by Sandcouch Cafe early in the morning to try something new, and I'm so glad I did! I ordered a small honey vanilla latte with whole milk, and it was perfect--not too sweet, just right. This café is located downtown, right on the corner, so it's easy to find. They also serve breakfast and lunch, which is great if you're looking for more than just coffee. I've noticed a lot of people come here to get work done in the afternoons, so it definitely has a nice, relaxed vibe. If you're looking to switch things up from your usual Starbucks or Dunkin', I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Service is amazing every time. Coffee and food as so good. Jalapeño bagel is my favorite and their breakfast burrito. I also order a mocha from here. A perfect spot to get some work done in the heart of DTLA. A little noisy if you are coming to work, but bright and beautiful

Yelp
Came here during a trip to LA. Ordered the smoked salmon and avocado toast, which was colorful, large, and tasty. I liked the balance of the different flavors and textures, from the roasted tomato to the balsamic vinegar to the cream cheese, it all mixed very well. The service was quite slow. I waited longer than expected for this toast to arrive to my table. I tried some of my dining partners' bagel sandwiches, and they were all excellent. The ambiance is chic modern cafe. The restrooms situation was less than ideal: both had "Out of Order" signs, but when we asked, an employee said that one of them was working, if you used a code from your receipt.

Yelp
We stopped in once again for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and were not disappointed!! The interior is bright and feels refreshing. Again, the food items are cooked fresh to order. Yummy. As good as I remembered!

Yelp
I've been trying matcha all over downtown LA and this place did not disappoint. I loved the decor inside. It was clean and pretty. They had a nice chandelier and big windows to see the city through. I ordered matcha with whole milk and it was just how I liked it; nice and sweet. The service was good and so was their omelette. Their cinnamon roll was ok. I wish it had more icing on it, but it was still good.

Calvin Q.

Yelp
3.8/5 stars but I'll round to 4. I ordered a large matcha latte. It's really sweet, so if that floats your boat, go for it. $12 after tax for a large (16 oz) with quite a bit of ice. I thought it'd be like a matcha foam that I see all over the internet but nope. I also thought my name would be called to pick up my drink but nope. Service could be worked on a bit, but place is nice for a little cafe. Gotta also be careful outside. There was a homeless guy? who was yelling at me right when I got out and pulled a weapon on me LOL but it is dtla so if you're not used to it, BE CAREFUL.

Yelp
Just two weeks ago, my friend Justin and I checked out the soft opening of Sand Couch, and we're so glad we did! This place is a fantastic addition to downtown at Seventh and Grand--it fills that need for a casual breakfast spot perfectly. We indulged in the pancakes topped with blueberry compote, which were delicious, and I can't recommend the chicken sandwich with bacon jam enough--it was absolutely my jam! The icing on the cake was running into some friends while we were there. It's such an LA thing to bump into familiar faces on a Sunday brunch outing! Overall, I highly recommend Sand Couch for a laid-back dining experience!

Yelp
Personally my go-to place when I am in DTLA! I really enjoy The Grasshopper. Their matcha is also pretty nice and has unique flavors, although I would say it's on the sweeter side (I ask for half sweet and it is too sweet still). The food also tastes flavorful (albeit a bit pricey) and better than I would have expected for a coffee shop/cafe
google avatar

Robin K.

Yelp
A new cafe in DTLA that opened just last week I believe. The place is popping and it has a really clean look and vibe. The food looks really good and the drinks were also good! Their most popular drinks are blueberry matcha, honey vanilla latte, and their regular matcha. They have 16 and 24oz sizes and parking is available on the street! Lots of indoor seating as well
google avatar

Brandy N.

Yelp
Cute clean coffee shop if you like to people watch. This place is new yet seems to have a good amount of people every time I go in. Not really a fan of the black plastic lids. I ordered a warm Matcha I was pleased with it. Service was good my matcha was done pretty quickly. good amount of options to pick from wasn't really a fan of the avocado toast.

Illae P.

Yelp
Cute cafe with great vibes. Loved the matcha latte -- so good! Owner was super friendly. Will come again!
google avatar

Jack B.

Yelp
I saw this on my daily walks and figured I check out their matcha. It's definitely worth the stop. I ordered a matcha latte with whole milk. It was the perfect temperature and at first I thought it was too sweet but after a good amount of sips, it ended up being just right. Solid coffee spot with a nice and inviting interior. A place to pull up a laptop and work on whatever. I'd definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.
google avatar

J A.

Yelp
Looooove this place! It's the best way to enjoy your breakfast and watch the city swirl past you. It's a beautiful location and has beautiful decor, very Scandinavian chic. Also the food is pretty great, a little pricey, but it's worth it. The service seemed a little slow, like they might be short staffed or something, but the quality was excellent.
google avatar

Cecilia C.

Yelp
Good was delicious and healthy, service was good and Ambiance was comfortable. They would of gotten a 5 star but we just had to wait for one of the plate. I believe they should of came out together but we had to remind them that we were still waiting for ONE of them.
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my experience at Sandcouch. Nice interior, quick service, and pretty solid food. I had a pastrami sandwich and fries. I felt like the sandwich needed mustard or some sauce on it, but it was still pretty good. The fries were also good, very well seasoned, but I'm more of a fan of thicker fries. That's just me though. The food was filling and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying something else.
google avatar

Astra M.

Yelp
My favorite cafe in DTLA! I always order the iced blueberry matcha latte. Definitely order the power omelet, fig jam prosciutto Italian sandwich, or crispy herbed fish (I'm a regular :) ). The cafe is spacious, has a good amount of outlets to work/study, and there's always good music playing. Super friendly staff as well!
google avatar

GG M.

Yelp
Place looks nice and we need more of these clean-cut shops around DTLA replacing dead steel, and I decided to pop-in for a croissant. They looked very crisp and fresh in the display, but they were meh, not even close to as fresh as the ones at Paris bakery, and a buck more expensive, AND smaller. 6 bucks for it yikes, easy one + done; asked to earn points cashier said only good for drinks (like, really?) Anyways it was a moot point in afterthought because won't be back for an overpriced and underwhelming croissant.
google avatar

Betty L.

Yelp
I had the cardamom latte. It took awhile to get my drink since the place was quite busy when I was there. But I enjoyed my drink; I had it to go. I hope to dine there and try the seating area next time.
google avatar

Caro N.

Yelp
I LOVE LOVE SANDCOUCH. Great service quality meals, so happy they are in the neighborhood. Milf approved !!
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
Walking in DTLA wanting to grab a coffee after my shopping, lol. Saw this in the corner of the street and it looked so peaceful and neat to me. The cashier was friendly. Gave my information about the drinks. I dined in and it was super quick service. The matcha flavor was perfect. The chicken salad was simple but tasty and fresh. I even journaled a bit. Definitely will be passing by again.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
What a great find! Well lit, clean space. We liked the tomato and burrata toast, as well as the latte drinks. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Guile G.

Yelp
Got the Honey Cinnamon Latte and it was so good! The line to order was short but did have to wait some time to get my coffee. Overall though, pretty good. Will def return to try their sandwiches and pastries, everything looks so good. It's also really new inside, spacious, and really clean. Great place to study or work.
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
Overcooked eggs and pancakes. How do you mess up pancakes?! My spouse said it was like a child cooked his breakfast.
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Love it! The perfect little cafe. Great food. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Wonderful staff. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and it was amazing. Welcome to the neighborhood and I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Kendall K.

Yelp
This spot has quickly become a new neighborhood favorite. I highly recommend the aroma bagel sandwich (and add tomato jam).
google avatar

Emm J.

Yelp
Service was very nice and quick. So welcoming :) I got the chorizo burrito it is so good!!! I will definitely be coming back. The burrito has egg tator tots bell peppers with a side of salsa. I also got a lemonade it was good. I work across the street and told my co workers about this place can't wait to come back :)

Peter Kim

Yelp
Amazing food, excellent service, variety of menu and relaxing atmosphere. The best in town. We will definitely return.
google avatar

Gabby G.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast and ordered a burrito and a steak and egg plate. The food was okay, nothing special. It was pricy and I hate when restaurants keep the condiments behind the counter ugh! I'm paying $20 for a burrito I should have access to all the ketchup I want. Anyway I don't think I'm coming back.

Amanda Z.

Yelp
Really fantastic place to go work from, have meetings, or even just relax. Super cute interior. Great food and drinks. Not too loud. Great place for people watching. And super friendly service.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
What a vibe! Super cute and the food and coffees are so good. They have breakfast all day which is what I go for midday. I really am happy to see a great cafe pop up near work. Definitely my new go-to spot
google avatar

Darlene S.

Yelp
Wow! This beautiful modernist cafe truly impressed me. I ordered the blueberry matcha, an omelette, and a croissant sandwich, and all were top-notch delicious. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Allison L.

Yelp
Just tried this new cafe out. Had the Power Omelette and it was amazing! The strawberry jam that came with it was also delicious as well. Will definitely be coming back to try out their other stuff.

Daisy A.

Yelp
Clean, cozy cafe and delicious food! Service was good and definitely will recommend this place!

Linda

Yelp
A must-visit when in downtown LA! They have the best raspberry matcha, I'm obsessed. Hands down the best drink I've ever had. The food was just as amazing! I ordered the cheese danish and almond croissant, both were fresh, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and absolutely delicious. The salmon toast was another standout, with generous portions and great flavors. Highly recommend!

William K.

Yelp
Good to go. kind staff with Smile excellent food. recetly open near my office. goos to go for light food

Grady H.

Yelp
Excellent coffee drinks and food! Place is clean and well lit. Very friendly service and place is buzzing.

Yelp
A cute and nice cafe. Everything we had was very delicious. Especially the avocado& burrata toast tasted amazing. The orange juice was very good and refreshing. Service was very nice and a great place to eat for a nice lunch. We were so glad to come here and would like to try different items.

Sandra C.

Yelp
This new cafe is a perfect place for a nice lunch. The food is amazing and the portions are worth the value. The decor is beautiful, this is a perfect location to come for lunch and grab coffee. Must try....
