Sands Macao

Our group booked 3 rooms for a 2-night stay at the Sands Macao seven months prior to our early November trip for its spacious rooms and amazing rates. We were not expecting much for an older hotel off the strip but our minds were blown by the warm, highly personalized and beyond expectations service we received from every staff member we encountered…from the doormen to the general manager. But what made the trip extra special for us were the incredible concierge and front office teams under the leadership of Sonia, Aillen and Peter. ||We emailed the hotel as soon as we booked with a few questions/special requests and received a very helpful response within hours. Closer to the trip, the concierge team came through again by booking us a private transfer back to Hong Kong at a very competitive price. On arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed like family and informed that early check-in was available. Our adjacent rooms were beautifully decorated to celebrate special milestones and we greatly appreciated the map with recommendations for nearby eateries and attractions. ||The concierge team checked-in on us throughout our stay … they arranged taxis - via WhatsApp once when we were unable to locate one in Taipa, made dinner reservations, walked us half way to a coffee shop off property and to Golden Court inside the hotel to ensure we didn’t get lost. They even provided a care package for the road when we left. We actually joked that we must have been confused for high rollers!||We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for warm hospitality and great value.||The rooms:|Huge! |Plenty of storage, large closet, and a big safe|Coffee maker/fridge (may not be available in all room types)|A bit dated furnishings/decor, but very clean and functional |Comfortable bed|Good water pressure in the shower|Jetted tub which we did not use (high off the ground - might be challenging for those with mobility issues).||The hotel:|Very clean & spacious (you’ll get your steps!)|Beautiful pool area and well-equipped gym|Large casino (we did not play but walked through on our way to restaurants)|Powerful AC in public areas (bring a shawl/sweater!)|Excellent dinner at Golden Court and tasty traditional breakfast|No good coffee available on site in the morning but great options around the corner.|||Location:|We picked this location because it is close to the HZMB Macau Port and within a 15-20 minute drive of the places we wanted to visit (Ruins of St-Paul’s, Grand Lisboa Macau, Taipa Village, and Cotai Strip)|It’s quiet, safe, and walkable.|Provides convenient, complementary shuttles to various locations.

The room looks great and is well furnished. It crashes down on the basics. The mattress on the king bed has seen way better days. The sheets were old. The rain shower in the bathroom doesn't work. Despite the large room and great view there was not an adequate work area. Breakfast is in a restaurant that requires you to walk through the casino. It is extremely basic. Location is not great. Staff in the hotel are lovely but in the restaurant are a bit curt. Poor value for money in relation to what matters.

I want to give a big thank you to Andrew, one of the hotel staff. I accidentally left my wallet in a taxi without knowing the license plate number, and he kindly helped me contact the police and followed up until I got my wallet back.||His help really saved me in a stressful situation. I’m very impressed with the service and truly appreciate how caring the staff are. Highly recommended!

Top-notch service from all the hotel staff, especially the front office supervisors Yui, Jason & Allen! Not only are they helpful & friendly, they give great food recommendations too! Even though their hotel location is not the best, their rooms are much more spacious than most hotels. If you need directions to anywhere, their concierge staff give clear directions and can also help you book taxis to pick you from the hotel lobby (instead of having to queue at the taxi stand which is a short walk away). I had a very enjoyable stay with my parents and their friends!

The front desk staff, especially Rainy Chan, were very kind, and we received a warm welcome for our anniversary celebration, complete with lovely decorations. The only drawback was that the shuttle does not drop off at the entrance of the hotel; it only drops off at the casino entrance. This caused us considerable inconvenience, as we had to walk a distance to pick up our bulky luggage.Overall, we were satisfied and left with a very good impression.

The whole experience staying at Sands was spectacular. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming, especially Peter who went above and beyond to make our stay so much more enjoyable and convenient. Being first timers in Macau, we weren't sure how things worked here and Peter was very patient and thorough in giving us directions to places we wished to visit. Our luggage was also incredibly heavy but he was so kind and assisted in moving them to our transit bus (to Hong Kong) and we are ever so grateful!

The hotel was very nice and staff were friendly and welcoming. On arrival the front desk knew who we were before we told them our name which shows the amazing customer service the hotel has. |The room we had was spacious and had great amenities. The pool staff were very good with our children and made them feel very welcome too. |The jacuzzi bathtub was an added bonus and worked well. |Our son celebrated his birthday whilst there and the hotel gave him a cake and some decorations which were a lovely touch. |The location of the hotel was great for the ferry and shuttle buses can run you between the other casino’s and the bus port for free.

Get ready for an unforgettable hotel experience! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The exceptional service set the tone for our stay, and as a family traveling with kids, we were especially impressed by the warm welcome we received. The amazing supervisor team surprised us with complimentary limousine service from the airport, making our arrival feel truly special. It's the perfect start to an incredible adventure!
