"We love pepperoncini. Sandwich Hut loves pepperoncini. Therefore, we love Sandwich Hut. This spot in Hope is one of the best places in Providence to get an Italian sub. Our favorite, the Allitalia, comes stacked with prosciutto, capocollo (a.k.a. gabagool), pepperoni, provolone, and, of course, a whole bunch of crinkly neon-green pepperoncini. It’s a takeout joint, so accept the fact that you might get oil and crumbs all over you as you house that thing during a scenic afternoon walk on nearby Blackstone Boulevard. " - grace kelly

"Is there anything more suited for a road trip than a massive, capocollo-and-pepperoncini-filled sandwich? Probably not, so stop for lunch at this takeout joint in Providence. Sandwich Hut is right off I-95, which makes it a quick pit stop, and the choice of italian subs and parm sandwiches are hearty enough to help you power through a few more hours of driving. " - anne cruz

Got the allitalian, with mayo oil and pickles, and this is definitely a phenomenal sandwich. Quick friendly service and very fresh tasting food, and a good price to portion ratio, especially for a picky eater like myself.

To go. Prepared timely and to perfection. Fresh rolls and not fancy. Just good. Tony Soprano would even approve. My sandwich was perfectly made. Exactly to order. Here’s the photo. VOODOO was perfect accompaniment!! Second time this summer my simple sandwich was perfect. Thank you!!

Great place to grab a sandwich! Cool little shop. I had the Siracha Chicken. It was great. My buddy had an Italian sub and he liked it. I suggest a small sandwich, it is plenty of food. If you're in the mood for a great sandwich, this place is an excellent choice!

I have been ordering lunch from here for years. Their sandwiches are always delicious- fresh ingredients, right proportions, made with care. Just be sure to order ahead and be patient. Everyone knows they're the best so it's busy!! Shout outs to Peter at the window for always being a bro.

Super delicious subs. A little too overflowing, but that's not a bad thing. The main issue here was how long it took. No one's in a hurry to make your sandwich here, trust me. And if you want to buy a t-shirt, hold the size and color in your hand before buying it because I got an "I *think* we have a gray Large in the back?" -- and paid for it, and guess what? No gray large in the back. A little hustle could go a long way, Sandwich Hut employees.

I love this place. The food is fresh and tasty. They have plenty of options here and lots of variety. It seems pretty authentic too. I’ve tried a ton of the sandwiches in the menu and I’ve yet to have a bad one. My biggest complaint is in that of the delivery. The delivery guys are always super nice, but they’re either 30 min early or 30 min late for lunch service. The delivery drivers rarely read the delivery instructions I leave too. I know it’s hard for them to predict lunch service from day to day but the inconsistency can be a bit difficult. But besides that, the food is amazing and if you always get takeout I’m sure you won’t hit any of the bumps in the road that I’m talking about.

I got THE ALLITALIA Prosciutto, Capocollo, Pepperoni & Provolone and it was very good. I especially liked that the sandwich wasn’t dry. I wasn’t crazy about the bread but that’s my taste. It took about 10 minutes to get my sandwich which I thought was a bit long given the fact that 4 people were behind the counter and nobody was there in front of me or waiting for a sandwich except a woman picking up her order. My sandwich was brought out to my table which was nice. I would certainly go back to try another sandwich. I had a bottle of root beer soda which wasn’t that cold , could have been because they have an open type cooler as you can see in the photo posted. I would suggest grabbing a soda in the back of the row. Parking sometimes can be tricky because it’s street parking but I found a empty spot right in front of the restaurant. Restaurant was clean .

Sandwich Hut 1253 North Main Street, Providence A seriously popular joint on the northern foothill of Mt. Hope, timing is (almost) everything if you want a sandwich here. Show up on a nice Tuesday at noon and don’t be surprised if you see a line out the door. It’s not really surprising - there are pretty nice people working a sandwich operation which utilizes really good ingredients. Silky & saline prosciutto, tangy soppressata, savory sheets of pistachio-studded mortadella, etc. The Hut doesn’t cut corners on the Italian classics. Cheeses follow suit, led by an outstanding smoked mozzarella, as do the vegetable components. Fully ripe, umami packed tomato slices, crisp arugula and an olive salad that would be embraced in New Orleans. One shortcoming to the sandwiches, and it’s minor one, is in the breads used. The grinder rolls are of the just okay variety. Super-basic, fine grained with a thin, soft crust it doesn’t harm the sandwich per se. On the other hand, in a city where the nearest neighborhood pizza shop might be using a notably chewy, yeasty sub bread, the rolls here feel lacking. The bread is more of an issue with Sandwich Hut’s focaccia. Technically correct: the term covers almost every leavened flattened thing from cracker-like sheets to sheetpan loaves of thick, chewy, oil, holey bread. The latter, Genovese style, being what has taken over the idea of focaccia, especially in the Northeast. If you order it here, at a $1.50 surcharge, you may say “What the fecazze??” when unwrapping your sandwich. The round, low-rise roll is also a light-textured, featureless bread. While the extra fee is questionable for what you get, it’s probably the only issue in an otherwise fairly-priced menu. In New Jersey they’ll stuff hot dogs, peppers & fries into large versions of this bread - no upcharge. Sandwich Hut’s focaccia is also exactly what you’d find in a NOLA muffaletta. Which the Hut just happens to serve; and it nails the recipe. Again - awesome olive salad & superb cold cuts. Stuffed Cherry Peppers are also a signature here. Golfball sized bombs of flavor. Currently my favorite, they mince provolone with an array of deli classics. Freaking phenomenal. Left a container on the counter while visiting my mom later and she stole most of them… Service/speed is a bit inconsistent here. At 1:30 on our last visit, my daughter & I were the only people there on arrival. With a half dozen staffers bopping around, obviously making phone orders, our two cold-sandwich order fell to one who took over 25 minutes to assemble them. A little boost to the efficiency wouldn’t hurt. But the wait gave me time to think of stuff. Like tipping and the current debate on which sectors of the service industry should or should not receive them. What struck me at Sandwich Hut, after tapping up a 20% gratuity while ordering, is that the questions of tipping have neglected the time honored aspect of WHEN to give extra. In the customary transaction between patron and a bartender or server, you pay and tip AFTER the drink is plopped down or the plates are cleared. Now this isn’t Sandwich Hut’s problem alone. It was just the place where this issue really struck me. I dropped a $6.50 tip and then waited nearly half an hour for two uncooked sandwiches. The incentive for the worker to perform better - or even adequately - was gone as the tip was already in the bucket. This is where restaurants need to pause on swinging around the touch screen to goad the customer into tipping for a service they haven’t gotten yet.
