Sandwich Hut

I've bought sandwiches from Sandwich Hut since the 1978. Thete hsve been times when the sandwiches have not been as good as they normally are, but I never made one complaint. I bought a sandwich today and the bread is not fresh. I called there, just to let them know the bread was not fresh. The man who I spoke with remembers taking payment from me. When I told him the bread wasn't fresh, he responded, "Well, I'm going to unequivably say your wrong, I know for a fact it's fresh it came in fresh this morning." I told him. I was sorry, the bread is not as fresh as it should be. He told me that I was calling him a liar. Those words NEVER exited my lips. I told him as a business owner myself, I would try to find a solution. I was just calling to say the bread wasn't fresh. There was no need for the exchange he had with me. A note to him...we are not always correct and when there is a complaint, just take it and try to make it right. You asked twice, "What do you want, your money back? My answer is no, that wasn't my intention, despite what you may have thought. That was my last trip to Sandwich Hut. You just lost a faithful, loyal customer because you think you can't possibly be wrong.

Today was the perfect day to visit. The sandwiches were amazing as always. I love the portions and quality. I love the MTP, and so far I think it’s the best with pepperoni added to it. The prosciutto is really good on it too, but I think it overshadows the pesto a bit. My partner got the corn beef and it is incredible. To be honest I wanted to leave a review because the customer service was great this afternoon. The cashier brought a really positive energy to the shop. I heard her remind the cook that my partner ordered extra onions added into a sandwich which I thought was really sweet. And she put a note on both of our kitchen tickets to make sure that our orders come out at the same time. More food shops need the same energy in Rhode Island.

The food truck that comes to our job is hands down one of the best! The customer service is always top-notch — friendly, welcoming, and professional every single time. The food is even better! The spicy sausage and Philly cheesesteak combo is my absolute favorite — packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and always hot and fresh. On top of that, their service is super fast, which is perfect for a quick lunch break. You can tell they really care about quality and keeping customers happy. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for great food and even better people!

This has been my go to spot for subs for over 10 years. I love the all-Italia as my go to, but you can’t go wrong with the entire menu. Fresh, high quality ingredients consistently over the years. Highly recommend for a great Italian style sandwich in Providence

We are visiting from Houston our daughter who just moved to Providence. Needed a quick sandwich ; holy Cow was this a surprise. Fresh meat , in house focaccia, homemade mozzarella. Fabulous. We got Joe’s sandwich and a cold sub , Cubano, pasta salad. Mouth watering visuals and sure exploded with flavors. Only negative was it took a while To receive our food. But surely worth it !!

Great place to grab a sandwich! Cool little shop. I had the Siracha Chicken. It was great. My buddy had an Italian sub and he liked it. I suggest a small sandwich, it is plenty of food. If you're in the mood for a great sandwich, this place is an excellent choice!

I love this place and have been going for years. I always get the Sriracha chicken sandwich - my most favorite sandwich.

Sandwich Hut is my favorite sandwich spot in Rhode Island. I can't even think of a number 2, regardless it's a distant second. The sandwiches here are made EXACTLY how you order it. I usually get a steak and cheese with onions, mushrooms and peppers. The sandwhich for me, is always on an Italian toasted medium. The execution of the order is flawless and they make it quickly. I've been coming here for many years and will continue to be a loyal supporter. A pro tip is to come here on an early break (before 11:30AM) or late launch (1PM on) just because lunch time could take a while considering their next to the Miriam Hospital and other local businesses. The restaurant is rather small inside, but there are places to sit and eat. I always choose to pick it up and enjoy it at home. The staff are mostly friendly and make some small talk. I got a half traditional muffaletta, and it was still pretty damn big. It was stuffed very well with cold cuts and they were fresh.. The bread wasn't great though, which was surprising. It was on the stale side and chewy. My other coworkers got different type of sandwiches like chicken Parm and the bread look much better.

I went to The Sandwich Hut to try their Muffelettas and I was very happy with the experience. The sandwiches may seem a little pricey, but the muffeletta was HUGE. Depending on how much you eat, you could get 2-4 servings out of one sandwich. I really enjoyed the focaccia that the sandwich was made on, but when I called to place the order, they had to check to see if they had any left. This leads me to believe that the focaccia is a hot item and must sell out fast. The small store wasn't too busy for lunchtime during the week. I thought for sure this would be a hot spot for hospital employees, but they must have mastered the lunch rush by providing options for call in orders and online orders. They do have two locations, so make sure you are ordering from the correct spot. During the time I went, they had plenty of open tables if you wanted to eat there, and the line to order or pick up an order was manageable.

Stopped in for tuna today and was pretty decent with lots of toppings. Pricing is very fair, $10 for "small" but a generous size small- did not leave hungry. I'm more of a hot (temp) sandwich type of person but to start here I would go with the muffaletta or MTP or MPR. Those were my top over the year. Also explore their chocolate chip peanut butter oatmeal cookie. They have an awesome local drinks selection. Be prepared, they get busy - sandwiches can take 5-10 mins but are made with love and worth the wait.

Best sandwiches in town!!! My personal favorite is the Joes special. MTP is also excellent... I often add some prosciutto.

We came here today for sandwiches and they were excellent as always. My friend and I both got meatball, sandwiches. And of course the yacht club soda. Everything went smoothly even though they were very busy. The dining area is limited and I would like to make a suggestion that I hope the owners will think about. They really should put a sign up that says seating is for dine in patrons only. Unfortunately, after we had gotten our sandwiches.We found out that there were no seats available and it was because many people were just sitting at tables waiting for food with no intention to eat there. Luckily there was a man who was just finishing eating by himself and he got up and we were able to sit at his table. During the time we sat there and had our lunch, there were four tables that were used by people actually eating there. Nine changed over and were used by people waiting for their order to be called because they were too lazy to stand and wait. I hope they take this into consideration.

Been going to this gem of a sandwich shop for years, i'd give them 6 stars if I could! Always fresh ingredients and always prepared with love, we need more places like this!!!

What luck that we found this jewel of a sandwich shop! The menu offers a wide variety of choices. On the advice of another patron, I tried the BLT and my partner had the meatball parm. Both were delicious. We loved the ambiance of a neighborhood restaurant with all sorts of diners. Next time we visit Providence, I'll try the muffuletta. Vintage Rhode Island "grinder" shop that has not changed (except for prices) since the 1960's when it was the go to sandwich destination before and after RI Reds hockey games at the old RI Auditorium. It was known then for their meatball subs, but I was in the mood for an Italian sub, so that is what I ordered. Tasty sub roll stuffed with Italian cold cuts. Pretty basic and still pretty good. Seems menu offerings have expanded since those days and wait at lunch was a good 15 - 20 minutes for takeout. Their Yelp check-in offer expired in 2016 so not sure they will honor it when I next visit! :-)

My absolute favorite sandwich place in the state. I haven't been to every sandwich place in the state, but quite a few. The bread, the fresh, high quality ingredients, it's all just spot on. I've only ever gotten two of their Italians, the Alitalia and the Deluxe. Both are amazing. I prefer the Alitalia, as it seems a bit more high end with prosciutto and capocollo, instead of salami and ham (they both have pepperoni and provolone). The provolone that they use is top notch. It really stands out, nice and sharp. Definitely not your supermarket cheese. My wife got the hut roasted turkey and added provolone to that (her standard sandwich order anywhere), and she said it's the best she's ever had.

I just ordered a meatball sandwich ......... got home no meatballs!!!!! call back told the guy on the phone he said sorry and hung up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! been a cust. over 50 yrs ! service was awfull

The Sandwich Hut was tasty, good bread, fresh ingredients. We had a chicken cutlet sandwich, and a turkey sandwich. Both were good. It was what I would expect from a good sandwich shop. The service was good, they took our order quickly and the sandwiches were out soon

Tried this place for the first time! The meat and cheeses were SO good. I added some crispy bacon which was just to die for. The bread though was very dry and wasn't my fav. I just did pickup from the side window which was crazy easy and parking was a breeze. Would eat here again but would get additional sauces to offset the bread.

This was my first time trying The Sandwich Hut. There are 2 locations-1253 N Main Street and 245 Carpenter St. I did online ordering which was very easy to complete. You would just want to make sure you are ordering from the correct location. The pickup window was located on the side of the Sandwich Hut. I ordered the Full Joe's Special - Hot pressed panini on focaccia with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, and pesto. I added pickles because I just love pickles. This was a great combination and a big serving that I had to save 1/2 of the sandwich for later. My husband ordered the Large Shaved Steak with the Works Sandwich and chose the following options: Honey Mustard, Provolone, Italian Roll. We both enjoyed our sandwiches. The flavors, ingredients, and bread were all fresh. We also ordered a Yacht Club soda and Granny Squibb's Iced Tea Lemon. Both are Rhode Island small businesses, so I was happy they were being supported.

This place has been around forever and it's been way too long since we visited. My husband actually used to work here in his younger days. Still have the same great sandwiches. Service is quick and staff are courteous. Not much else to say other than if you are hankering for a sub and are in the area, you might want to check them out! Oh , and there is comfortable and clean indoor seating as well as a restroom for patrons.

I really enjoyed my sandwich from here!!! I had the Allitalia Prepared with Prosciutto, Capocollo, Pepperoni, and Provolone! The meats were sliced so thin and you could really taste the flavors of the meats and cheese! I loved that they use a softer roll too. So awesome! Will definitely visit again!

We had been meaning to give the Sandwich Hut a try for quite a while now. Glad that we finally did! We both got an Italian, because they looked so good. They really pile some premium meats on this baby too! A healthy amount of prosciutto included as well! You can really taste the meat. A very good sandwich indeed! I will have to try a different one next time, because all of their sandwiches look and sound amazing! They also serve my favorite Yacht Club soda!

I occasionally visit the Providence area and The Sandwich Hut is a favorite lunch place. The food is top quality, fairly priced and delicious. The service is efficient and friendly.

Was craving a sandwich after class - got the prosciutto and mozzarella with all the toppings. Ingredients are of good quality however the bread is always dry and dense and it doesn't complement the ingredients. It looks better than it tastes.

Mmmm got the Italian and it was sooooo good. Husband got the same but in a croissant and loved it. I highly recommend you come here. Seating is casual sandwichs shop style, most tables are 4 seats. Small bathroom for customers to use. Good for groups out for lunch bite and individuals looking for a good bite. Been here twice and I'll keep coming.

A perfectly delicious sub. A small is all you really need, unless you want to work up an appetite towards the larger ones. All the flavors to this sub work incredibly well, but what really did it for me was the bread. It is perfect. Buttery, soft, chewy interior, I would not want it any other way. The amount of meat that is put into this sub is also worthy of note. It is not grossly excessive, but not too little to the point I would be ripped off. The subs are made quickly so I never felt like time was an issue. I recommend completely and am real happy I tried this.

I've been a customer since the mid 70s but haven't been there in awhile. Today, was advised that the wait time for a cold sub was 25 minutes. The place had I customer inside but seems they added a pickup window. Don't know when that happened but guess that it is a sign of the times; pickup and delivery take precedent over counter orders like so many quick food businesses. I hope they can make a good balance in the future but will give them another shot. Plenty of people behind the counter. Think the process should be reviewed.

My go-to spot for sandwiches in Providence. Huge sandwiches & generous toppings for a solid price. Build your own sandwich or choose from all of the delicious options. Everything is fresh and top-quality; everything from the bread down to the lettuce. No slimy deli meat here. My favorite is the eggplant meatball sandwich and my husband loves building his own turkey sandwich. Completely worth the stop and perfect for a grab & go option.

They do things different but authentic! Quality was great with fresh bread, meat, and spicy pepper relish. If you are in the area stop in! Good size sandwich!

It's taken me a while to eat here because there always seems to be a line. My wife and I split a meatball parm and roast beef sandwich. Both were good. The meatballs were tender and well cooked, though not particularly complex in flavor or texture. A solid sandwich. The roast beef was, like the meatballs, very solid. The toppings it came with married really well with the beef. We'll be back.

I wanted to place my order online but when I choose a foccacia sandwich it asked me what kind of bread, and then didn't have foccacia as an option. I didn't want to order wrong so I waited to order in person. I would have eaten inside, but it looks like you have to order outside at the window to go. It's like 20 degrees out! What?!? 15 mins I'm told, and I should have known, it's not ready. Again, it's like 20 out!! I asked if I could have my water and she said no one could go get it for me right now? That confuses me. I can't even explain that. $10 for a small sandwich and then a 40 minute wait. The sandwich was pretty good. Maybe if you order an hour before you want to eat, you'll have a better experience. Unfortunately, I will not return.

Hollerrrrrrrr! This is my fav sandwich shop in RI. The Allitalia is so delicious and fresh. Rolls are perfection. Ordered online today and pickup was on time and staff was friendly. I also love being able to get a yacht club soda and support another great R.I. establishment. My son got a meatball sub and devoured it and there were several audible mmmmms while he ate. Also - didn't realize til after we ate, but I had the same exact sandwich 6 years ago to the day. It's always a good day for Sandwich Hut but I guess May 30th is a particularly day for Sandwich Hut.

First, and last trip to the sandwich hut. I ordered my sandwich, and waited 25 minutes for it while I watched a woman making sandwiches with red open sores on her arms and hands. In 25 minutes, i watched her take off gloves to wrap and bag sandwiches, and put on new ones. Then I see her with a long sandwich half in her hand, and half on her arm. I was ready to walk out. Another woman made mine, and I was out the foor to the first traffic light. I'm behind their delivery guy, an older guy, and he peels out and goes left through the red. Not the kind of place I want to support.

I have had their Italian sandwiches and they are really good HOWEVER I got their steak, cheese,peppers and onions and I was not impressed! Neither was my husband. Th onions peppers are too big. I'm not a fan of big cut pepper and onions. The steak had absolutely no flavor. Definitely needs some salt and pepper. Now I know not to buy it again. I will stick to their Italian sandwiches.

I've been meaning to try Sandwich Hut since seeing it on Phantom Gourmet. This sandwich shop / deli has been family-owned since 1963! I wanted a hot sub so I got the eggplant parmesan, but next time I would try a more creative option like the veggie muffuletta or the "smoke, pickle, pepper" on focaccia. The submarine roll is very light and fluffy. Prices are very reasonable, about $6-7 for a 6" sub and $10-12 for a foot long. Sandwich Hut is open until 9pm on weekdays, but just be aware that they can run out of some ingredients closer to closing. They're conveniently located right on North Main St, so I will definitely stop by again when I'm in need of a quick and satisfying meal!

I've always wanted to go to the Sandwich Hut, it's been in business for a long time and gets good reviews. I read other reviews on Yelp to help me decide what to order and went with the Allitalia and the Muffuletta. They were both good but not great. Definitely Fresh and solid 4 stars, worth a try. As of note in the Parking lot there are four tables for outdoor dining

They are participating in RI Food fights which is what brought us there, my sister has the coupons. I decided to order a sandwich as well. I had the eggplant parm. Their bread is very fresh and the sauce was delicious. It was a average for pricing and for serving size. I also tried the pesto macaroni salad and the potato salad and both were good.

I am a fan girl of The Sandwich Hut. Every single sandwich is remarkable. Do yourself a favor & like them on facebook so their sandwiches show up in your daily FB feed. You will be hungry. You will order one of their gorgeous sandwich creations. You will go to Providence to pick it up. You can thank me later. Hubby & I are HUGE fans of the New Orleans muffuletta (go get one at Central Grocery & Deli in NOLA). We were in Providence around lunchtime & I was hungry. While we have tried a number of the sandwiches, we never got the muffuletta so we rectified that situation. BE WARNED: the sandwich is the photo is ONLY HALF. Also, I am OBSESSED with their olive relish so I asked them to put extra on it. This sandwich is everything I want in a muffuletta (but next time, I'll let the sandwich experts make the sandwich as is because it might have been a little too much olive relish... even for me!). Highly recommend.

There is only 3 spots that come to mind when I want a sandwich in Providence and the Sandwich Hut is one of them. The freshest ingredients with the perfect sandwich bread. Lots of classic sandwich options and some fun options if your willing to get creative. I go back and forth with hot sandwiches(chicken cutlet) or cold sandwiches(deluxe with Capocollo and olives) and I can't pick a winner. I've never had a bad sandwich. And they carry Zapp's voodoo chips! No need to fly down to Nola to get my fix.

Yum! Ordered two large sandwiches Chicken Parmigiana and a MTP with prosciutto and chicken. Both were very good and the large is huge. Their homemade pesto is very tasty. Ordered online and had to pickup at a door on the side, their inside is closed.

Place has definitely gone down hill lately. Bread always feels dry and stale. Hot sandwiches almost always burned. Can't say I'm impressed. Used to be a favorite lunch place, but it's not really keeping up anymore. Kinda sad :(

Went yesterday May 21 2022 Got the Meatball eggplant parm. Was not great. Was not worth the money almost $15.00 Matter of fact tasted liked garbage. Had absolutely no flavor in the sandwich. No flavor in the red sauce and meatballs. That was my first time there and last!! Made you wait outside. It was damp and cool out.

Back again at my favorite spot, I've been coming here for the last seven years and this place never disappoints. My go to is the Allitalla everything on it with the pepper. I bite the pepper first to get that spice going then bite the sandwich. I always grab a Yacht Club soda when I'm here a well, this place originally put me onto Yacht Club soda. I won't even step foot in subway out of respect for this place, support small business

Ordered delivery online which highlighted the need to spend $20, which I did. Payment went through and then I get an automated text saying it is ready for me to pick it up. I called the restaurant to explain the error and the first person told me that the system does it from time to time. She then told me I was within their delivery range and put me on hold. Then a different person picks up the phone and says the reason it didn't go through as delivery was because I was outside of their zone and I needed to come pick it up. I'm literally a 6 minute drive from them, but am working. Disappointed and felt scummy. Hopefully they were honest about the refund part.

This is my second time here. Hubby wanted a sandwich and I wanted something other than Subway. They are currently not open indoors but takeout and online ordering is available. The takeout window is on the side street side. After I made my decision I put my order in and it was ready within 5/10 mins which I thought was super fast. Price range I thought it was a bit on the higher scale but overall experience with the quality and service I can definitely appreciate. I made a rather fast decision on what I ordered but I would go again and try other subs.
