New Pop-up Sandwich Sandwich Ready for Its March Debut | Eater Seattle

"Launching March 15 as a pop-up with preorders currently live, Sandwich Sandwich is a lunch-focused project from Kayla von Michalofski and Spencer Kuhlman that grew out of family meals they made for Salare staff in summer 2020 and Instagram-documented sandwich experiments; originally conceived as a potential food truck, the short menu includes a bacon-wrapped jalapeno popper grilled cheese described by von Michalofski as “fair food on steroids,” a banh mi twist featuring nem chua (Vietnamese fermented pork), potatoes tossed with dehydrated kimchi and Green Goblin sauce, and Stroopwafel filled with hot honey caramel as a nod to von Michalofski’s Dutch family roots. The chefs hope to keep slinging sandwiches at other pop-ups, build a following before moving to a mobile operation (they’ve already received offers from other chef friends to host), and view the project as a playful way to create during a challenging time: "This started as something fun to keep our minds off of all the bad happening — it just blossomed into something more." - Gabe Guarente

Biggest sandwich I ve seen in my life. It was absolutely delicious, filled with ingredients I wouldnt imagine they match. I had the Tandoori sandwich with mint sauce. I also tried the scotch egg which unfortunately I did not really like. The meatball was not as seasoned as I expected. Otherwise this place is perfect for a breakfast while visiting Bristol.

This is the second time I've ordered a hot BBQ beef sandwich and the burger came with long hairs in it. I don't know if this is some kind of special house seasoning, but if so, they should change the recipe. I don't think consumers like this kind of ingredient. I didn't take any photos the first time, but this time I will post them. I don't think this is an isolated case. I hope you take action. Thank you.

You will need to ask each time if the meat is halal. I bought the Italian sandwich (without pork), a great fresh sandwich with a pesto cream cheese filling. The spicy sauce was spicy having a kick to it! I would have preferred without, as I felt it overpowered the flavour and taste of the subtle pesto and cream cheese 🥺 I will be opting for the southern fried chicken with the same spicy sauce. It is an expensive sandwich for what it is. You can get the ready made ones which is a good deal. ‼️Check for pre-made halal options.

lovely shop front, cute and airy shop. tried the spanish chicken which was tasty (probably better hot though), for those with a smaller appetite this is 2 meals! well balanced sandwich with loads of flavour

The sandwich is massive, fresh and tasty. I recommend the chicken Kiev. It is a very good option for sandwiches, if you don’t want to go to the usual Subway branches. There is an extra fee to eat in, which is not clear on their price menu. The service is slow when the branch is busy.

While the sandwiches are good, I wouldn’t have expected a 20 minute wait considering it wasn’t particularly busy. Initially went to the Clifton branch but they were sold out of the majority of the menu before 1pm, so headed down to this one, by 1:30 they were sold out of scotch eggs, and only had white bread left which isn’t our first choice, but after all the effort of going to one branch and being disappointed, and then heading to this, just opted to miss out on the scotch egg and get my sandwich on white, we also got a sausage roll too. The sandwich was indeed, as per, very good for a sandwich and very filling. However, would have been nice to know the sausage roll was spicy and had chilli in it, especially since I specifically asked. When considering the overall experience, I wouldn’t recommend visiting, and we’re unlikely to again for another couple of years.

Huge coronation chicken sandwich at a really reasonable price of £7.75. Staff were lovely and service was prompt. Only complaint would be that the bread wasn't amazing but other than that really nice

Travelled two hours today to the Bristol store, my son wanted to celebrate his 16th birthday with one of the sandwiches! Absolutely did not disappoint, food was incredible and the staff were amazing! I’ve been in hospitality myself an embarrassingly long time and it was really nice to see a team enjoying what they do and making it an enjoyable experience for all the customers. Thank you for making his day (and mine)😊

Yelp
There has been room for a ridiculously good Sandwich shop in Bristol for some time. Don't get me wrong, we do have a couple of spectacular bread fillers, but Sandwich Sandwich are a welcome new addition to central Bristol; their sandwiches are incredible! They have a few hot sandwiches, a couple of hot flat breads and all of your standard sandwich fillings. Why is it so good? because everything is top quality and their passion is obvious. The beef is thick and rare. The chicken, weather it be coronation, mayo & sweetcorn or any of the other varieties they do, is stacked on and accompanied by any of the salads they have on the counter. You can tell that they want their customers to be as excited about their food as they are; and I am every time I eat here. But Sandwich Sandwich isn't just about sandwiches. Perched on the counter are the most amazing soft boiled scotch eggs, sausage bakes and delicious cakes. It's almost painful to stand looking at them if you're in a cue; they look so good! The guys have shaken up the lunch time sandwich run in Bristol, and I applaud them for their efforts.
