Sandwich Sandwich - Review - City - London - The Infatuation

"Sandwich Sandwich is—believe it or not—a sandwich shop. Yes, this St. Paul’s spot is a Bristol import gone viral, where all eyes are on the sandwich bar. But if you just focus on the sandwiches, you’re doing it wrong. Because as exciting (read: overstimulating) as the sandwich station is, our favourite thing to get from this spot isn't a sandwich. It’s the buns. With fillings like crispy chicken and battered cod, the hot brioche bun is easier to order (you can go straight to the till and avoid the queue for the sandwich bar), and more enjoyable to eat (you don’t have to dislocate your jaw). At lunchtime, the queue snakes all the way out of the door and around the street, and it can be a long wait, because this isn’t a slop-it-on-and-send-it-out kind of sandwich shop. There’s a strict formula to each sarnie. The staff move like worker bees turned performers, taking orders from office lanyard-wearing groups. Thick slices of bread are over-filled (in our opinion) with fried chicken or scoops of tuna mayo mix, before being tightly wrapped in paper to form the kind of brick you could use for your next arm workout. While they’re very easy on the eyes, it’s still those buns that we’d return for. Food Rundown Southern Fried Chicken Hot Stack You’ll come for the sandwiches and have your head turned by this crowd-pleasing “hot stack”. Soft brioche buns are stuffed with crispy fried chicken, cheat-code hash browns, onion rings, and a creamy creole sauce. It’s all squished down so the comforting flavours mash together nicely. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Tuna Crunch Sandwich This heavily filled number is a little disappointing. The tuna mix doesn’t have enough mayonnaise, the onions are cut too big, and it didn’t hold together well. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich A stand-up, thicc sandwich, but the hot stack version is miles better. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Coronation Chicken This is like a regular coronation chicken, except it’s got triple the amount of filling we usually like. Nice, but the ratio is way off and it’s not worth the queue. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Oreo Cheesecake A little on the sweet side, this cheesecake is perfectly nice, but you’ll need all the stomach space you can get for the savoury stuff." - Rianne Shlebak

If you like a sandwich then this is the place to go! Get one made fresh at the counter rather than the pre-made ones! I have tried a couple but the standout is the southern fried chicken one, never fails! Make sure you are hungry when you go as they are huge!

Went on a Sunday when St. Paul’s was quiet, and the shop was empty, somehow service was still slow. I tried staff recommendation Chicken Kyiv and it was underwhelming, six of us tried various sandwiches and none thought any one of them were special. The menu also didn’t match what I’d seen on Instagram, which i believe the staff confirmed can happen? Maybe I misunderstood that last part but yep not going to recommend sandwich sandwich considering the price. It’s perhaps priced awkwardly for what it is

Most likely the best food we had on our trip to London. The staff was amazing and treated us really well. We had to stop there again before leaving for the airport. :) It’s such a shame that there aren’t more locations. We tried 4 sandwiches and couldn’t agree which we liked the best. All of them were so delicious. I would recommend sharing the sandwiches between two people because it was a lot for just one person.

Superb, massive sandwiches - we had the Sandwich Sandwich Club and it lived up to the hype we've been seeing on social media. The sandwiches are genuinely big, not just from thick bread - the fillings are very generous indeed, and the filling is very good quality too. The club had chicken, bacon, lettuce tomato and egg, a bit like egg mayo. The fillings are so plentiful that it becomes a challenge to eat! That isn't a negative at all, kind of challenge I like! The sandwich was great, and around £10 to take out was very good value for money as it was very filling , didnt need anything else to eat for the rest of the day. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, and sandwiches are all made to order. We're looking forward to going back and trying something else as so many of the range looks good.

Well I finally managed to get to visit Sandwich, Sandwich and their shop at Gresham Street, London. Such a wide range of sandwiches to choose from, but I chose the BBQ Beef stack. It was so nice, tasty. The BBQ beef was cooked to prefection, and the accompanying fillings just added to the whole experience. Highly recommend, great food and excellent customer service too.

Visited to redeem NeoTaste deal at rainy Sunday. Place was almost empty, expected at least few customers but I guess their main clientele comes from banks and lawyer offices. Great customer service, lad working there was helpful and took his time to explain how it works there and since my brain had hiccup it took a while. Sandwich was massive and very filling; it's not for everyone thou. Hiw they serve becon: it's very crunchy almost burnt and thick pieces too. Personally I like it. Was this the best brekkie sandwich I've had. No, but it was good and I'd get back here to get one. Decent looking place, lots of place inside, not that many tables thou.

Big hunks of very tasty sandwiches! Modern shop round the corner from the Barbican Estate. Pretty quick service and friendly staff who made the sandwiches. The sandwich itself was very large and stacked full of good tasty chicken, salad and coleslaw. Good value considering how big it is and how filling as well. Worth a visit if you fancy a filling lunch!

The sandwich definitely lived up to the hype! I had the hot Christmas sandwich with everything in it and the pot of gravy. It was lush. Service was good too, but the place is a little grubby
