One of the best sandwiches I have had in a long time! We ordered three sandwiches, the turkey, the Italian, and the roasted eggplant. We had to wait a couple extra minutes for the eggplant. He said he wanted to grill it to perfection . Well it was ! Because My wife raved about how amazing it was. Everything was delicious. We will definitely eat there a time or two before we go home.

Literally had one of the best cheese STEAK sandwiches I’ve had in my entire life. Definitely the best cheese steaks that I’ve had down in Delray Beach, Florida Mike, the owner takes pride in his sandwiches and he gets DELICIOUS bread. He’s Italian….you gotta trust an Italian with good bread! His menu has breakfast sandwiches as well they’re all delicious! And The Beach is right here! Get it to go! You’ll want to thank me, But it’s not necessary, just enjoy the food! 🇮🇹

You have heard of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld - this is the Sandiwich Nazi of Delray Beach!! I went into the store before noon and it was relatively quiet. I complimented the (presumed) owner on his great number of good choices. I did not get a response. I decided to order a Cuban sub and when I asked if it was soft bread I got a gruff “it’s on a sub roll pressed”. I paid for my sandwich and was told “we”ll call you when I t’s ready”. I stepped back to wait. Another lad tried to order a sandwich on a specific type of roll and was told in the same gruff attitude that it was not available that way. She ended up not ordering. He turned to me and said “Yours will take 8 minutes, we will call you when it’s ready” with a look outside. I guess I was being asked to wait outside. While waiting a number of other customers walked in and some did not order anything - I wonder why. Finally I was called back into the store and was given my sandwich. The sandwich itself was good but I prefer it on non toasted bread but I guess I could not order it that way. It was tasty and flavorful. The meat was a bit tough and chewy.

Sandwiches by the sea has to by far be the best sandwich shops I have been to. The shop is run by individuals from New Jersey who have a local distributor for their bread and it feels like I am back home every time I step in. The customer service is amazing and always such good vibes, and the sandwiches are huge and so so fresh. There are so many options to choose from and it is so quick to be in and out of there. It is at a perfect spot by the beach, great environment and all around best people. Whenever my family comes to visit it is mandatory that we get lunch or dinner from there eat least once!

We’ve been going here for over 20 years and loved it. Loved, past tense. The old owner was a super friendly guy, and the sandwiches were awesome. He sold it to basically his complete opposite, personality-wise. Unfriendly, borderline rude, I don’t even want to go here anymore. It to mention, the sandwiches are now $18. We’ve gone 3 times in the hopes that it was just a one time thing or a “having a bad day” experience. Nope. Same experience 3 times. See ya. Life’s too short. Hopefully, the owner is reading this and gets it together.

Delicious! We stopped in while on a family vacation and ended up coming back throughout our stay because the sandwiches are so delicious. We have a picky three-year-old that only wanted grilled cheeses at the time and they were able to accommodate our off-menu request! Great location too!

Sandwiches by the Sea is my go-to spot for a beach day lunch. There's nothing like sitting on the beach enjoying a chicken cutlet hero. It hits the spot every time. Recently, I stopped in while walking Atlantic Avenue and dared to get a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. I'm from New York and could not find a decent BEC anywhere. Sandwiches by the Sea's BEC is it! So good! The search is over! Totally a big deal. The people behind the counter are always friendly and welcoming and this place has a bit of that New York deli style feel. Every time friends or family visit, I take them here and we head to the beach. Everyone has loved it. Thanks for being the best!

Ordered a sub and the bread was hard and stale. We could hardly eat it. We won't be going back to this sandwich shop.

With the new management and staff they showed poor behavior. This is not what we expected as the previous owners whom we had business for so many years were friendlier, appreciative than the current owners. I am a New Yorker getting sandwiches to this place for 30 years and had 2 bad experiences within 2 days. First day wouldn't serve my lunch for 1/2 hour and didn't have what I wanted on their menu any how. Response was not friendly and no accommodate for any alternative offer. Day 2, to avoid the 1/2 wait, we called in the order, when picking it up we experienced rude directions from staff/owner where to stand and how to pay and after all the directions failed to put bacon on the sandwich which was clearly on the receipt. One more chance as I am a supporter of small businesses. It doesn't cost ($$$) to be nice!!!!! The food is still good but the staff is SOUR.

Can't go wrong with a sandwich by the Sea. Food is always solid, great quick lunch spot.

I've been going to this place for years. When the old owners sold to the new owners... we were hopeful the quality and freshness would remain. However; I will now no longer ever eat here. Bread was hard and not fresh and Mayo was overloaded. $11 for a 6 inch... no. Tried 3 times... exact same issue all 3 times. Shame the new owners wouldn't take note from the previous owners. But seriously... you should know your break is rock hard and not fresh.

Been a regular for decades and loved it. Not a fan since the new owners!! They are rude and not so nice!!! As for the food, it's not bad but the bread too heavy and the order was wrong all 3 times I tried them. All good things come to an end. Sad!

I had one of the best sandwiches of my life here. Turkey and Swiss. Took it down to the beach and ate it by the ocean. I found this place through Yelp. I love when Yelp delivers like that! The star rating was correct! The service here was also friendly and fast. They also let me look at their T-shirts and didn't give me any attitude when after I unfolded one and tried it on, and decided not to buy it. Just a small little sandwich shop that deliver a big amount of flavor and service!

Hey everyone, if you're at the beach and in need of a quick, fresh, and delicious sandwich, this is the place to go! My family always grabs lunch from here, and we love enjoying their sandwiches right on the beach. They make them so fast, you'll have your sandwich in hand before you can even blink!

A super small shop on the way to the beach, with s charming little back patio area. The sandwich, for lack of a better descriptor, was bright and delicious. The veggies tasted distinctly fresh, with the vinegar dressing bringing out an overall sharpness that made the sandwich spring to life. My only gripe was that, although the bread was great, there was a little too much of it compared to the other ingredients. It was all very tasty, but it got a little starchy towards the end! Definitely a great place to stop by after you've had a long stroll on the nearby beach.

I've been going to this shop for 12 years now and it's the best sub ever. There meat is bores head so it's the best brand. There homemade Italian sauce is to die for. And all in all it's the best getting a sub and enjoying it by the beach. Just an amazing place, super friendly guys and there so quick with making subs.

I tried the tsunami and the tidal wave and both were tasty, good-sized sandwiches although we liked the tsunami more. This is a good spot for a sandwich before heading to the beach.

Zero Stars Very bad service. They were out of many products. Rude woman. Drinking beer in the back of the desk with a guy. Told me to go down the street shop if I wanted the sandwich I was trying to order. My daugther order a sandwich and it was bone dried. Will not recommend.

Really difficult to find, and parking alike. I walked by this place like 3 times and still could find it. It's a bit small and when I went, the potato salad and a few other side items were out. Sandwiches were ok. Staff was super nice and service is really fast.

Disappointed... Have been coming here for 4 years now and recently the quality has just gone downhill. The sub rolls didn't taste fresh and the rye bread was stale/ hard. The workers were also incredibly rude (especially when charging $30 for 2 subs). Such a disappointment since this used to be our go-to spot for lunch by the beach.

I ordered a chicken salad wrap and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend. I can't say anything about ambience or service although the take out that time was pretty quick.

No idea how this place is averaging 4.5 stars. I was quite disappointed. The service was fast and friendly, and I enjoyed their patio, but that was about it. I get better sandwiches at my local supermarket's deli counter (which is Vons for those of you that live in California). With a 4.5 star rating, I was expecting a fantastic sandwich akin to those served at Bay Cities Deli in Santa Monica. Also, I was disappointed that a place with a sitdown patio doesn't offer tap water to drink; forcing us to pay for bottled water. In the end $36 for 3 sub-par sandwiches and a large bottle of water to share. I won't be back.

Excellent sub shop. Ordered delivery and it came fast and fresh. Italian sub was terrific. Pasta salad also great.

Left a review on google as well. I've been a customer of this place for almost two decades. The new owners are nice people. The sub contents were good, however the new bread they are using is overwhelming. The beauty of sandwiches by the sea was that it was a light and easy sub, but that is no longer the case with this new bread. Again, the meat and cheese were just as good as always, but the new bread is a turn off.

I got an Italian Cold cut grinder with some of the best tasting Pepperoni I have ever had. I also got Olive Oil on it. Greasy, unhealthy..but so good. I would really recommend this place. We went for lunch. It was really crowded and this was on a weekday. They have gigantic menu..so many sandwich choices. I happen to be a Pepperoni lover and like Italian cold cuts in general so my choice was a no brainer. My dining companion got a roast beef Grinder. The service was awesome and we both enjoyed our food. I have not had anything else on the menu (yet) but would really recommend checking them out if you are in the Delray area. Friendly service, clean establishment and super yummy sandwiches.

Went in for the crab salad sandwich. They didn't have any crab, so we opted for the chicken salad and they didn't have that either, so we went with the roast beef sandwich. Unfortunately, it was very fatty and tough. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

unfortunately, I can not give this place a good review. My son purchased a buffalo chicken wrap on 1/6/24. Came home ate it and within an hour he started vomiting and terrible stomach cramps. Not only did he pay a lot for a wrap -he got food poisoning for dessert. Be careful people where you choose to eat. Not a happy mom!

This was fine but nothing special. The cashier told me that the chicken salad is their bestseller and I thought it was just okay- not to mention a very small portion. My boyfriend had the tidal wave and thought it was also fine. This will do in a pinch if you want to walk from the beach to get a sandwich, but I would highly recommend doing a little more planning and picking up from Bagels with Deli instead!

Literally a hole in the wall restaurant for take outs. It's easy to miss this place if you walk too fast. It's at Venetian and Atlantic. They use Boarshead meats and offer make to order sammies and salads. They have chips and beverages too. Their prices are reasonable and I got my sandwich in just a few minutes. There is no seating inside but there are some in the back courtyard. I took my turkey sandwich back to the hotel outdoor bar and ordered a decent beverage to go with it. It was quite good!

One of our favorite spots for carry out in downtown Delray. On beach days we grab a few sandwiches to go or on rainy days we order over phone and pick up. Favorites are the chicken salad wraps and kid loves their turkey sandwich on a hoagie. Their homemade cookies and homemade honey mustard are worth adding to all orders. And the fancy blood orange pelligrino cans are great at the beach.

This place is awesome! The sandwiches are delicious, employees are friendly and prices are totally fair (borderline cheap). I would highly recommend stopping by if you're headed to the beach in Delray. Bonus: They have a great selection of drinks, including the rare Dr Browns Diet Cream Soda!

Sandwiches by the Sea is a cute little shop that you will easily walk past but you have to stop for their Italian sub. The Italian sub was probably the best Italian sandwich I've ever had in my life. One of the best places to stop in and grab a quick bite to eat

They have delicious and fresh subs! I've been eating here since I was a teenager and it never disappoints.

Little shop hidden right off the beach, very small inside two guys working the bread was very fresh and tasty, quality meat and the cheese was very good. Very impressed might have been the best sandwich I have had in a while a little expensive but the size of the hoagies make up for it. If you are by the beach looking for a quick yummy lunch I highly suggest

This place is no better than Publix deli...if you want the BEST go to a Laspadas in Boca or Lauderdale by the Sea. These subs have so much more bread than meat the bread wraps around and overlaps...it's a joke! Check out the photos for what a real sub looks like.

Amazing subs and always friendly staff. I've been coming here for years and it's always my first stop when I'm in town! Also the vinaigrette dressing is a must have.

Always a great place! My favorite by the beach. Great salads and subs. Always quick and friendly service. My husband loves his tidal wave sub and I love my salad with tuna and sprouts. Can't wait to go back!! Only sad thing is that we live in New York and we only get to come on vacation.

The bread was good for Florida. The meats were high end and the build of the hoagie was strong. Yes...there was a hinge. I give these guys high marks.
