This place was small but very nice. When I walked in I was wondering how good these sandwiches were, boy was I happy to find out. The location is ideal, not great parking in the area but i visited after 8pm therefore parking was fine. The kind lady that took my order was really nice and was helpful with all the menu items, it was not a big menu but definitely had big flavors. I didn’t know what to try because all of the sandwiches sounded interesting. I decided on the Cuban paired with sweet potato taters and I have to say I was very impressed. The sandwich was full of flavor and the taters were just right. I would only wish this place to be open later into the night so I can get here more often. I will definitely come again, keep up the great work.

Jiu Jitsu Steak - Thinly Sliced Steak Seasoned In Homemade Chimichurri With Caramelized Onions Topped With Extra Chimichurri. Located in North Bergen, Sandwichitos has been on my radar for a while. Found myself close by, and ordered the Jiu Jitsu Steak, although other selection seemed equally as good. Visit would have been better if I brought someone along and we ordered two differentsandwiches, to get mix it up at bit. I most admit, was a bit apprehensive based on the price, but the reviews made me take the plunge. The sandwich was amazing, and well worth every penny. When the food is amazing, don't mind paying a bit more every now and then, as long as the food is delicious. Definitely need to make a return trip to try some of the other great combinationsthey have to offer. Opted for take out and enjoyed the sandwich at Palisades Interstate Park which was a short drive away but offered tables along the Hudson with great views of the bridge.

Amazing sandwich first time here and I couldn’t be more impressed. I got the jujutsu steak, which was a bit more on the pricey side for my usual sandwich. However, I was looking forward to trying it prior to trying it. I asked the manager his thoughts on it, he explained that it was a bit sweet, which I didn’t understand but when I tried it, it was a bit on a sweeter side. I was expecting more of a garlic or lemon zest because of the chimichurri however, it’s not bad at all. Can’t wait to be back to try more things on the menu definitely a fan now.

Finally got to visit them & got to try the steak sandwich. They ran out of bread “ no biggie “ so I got it with the tostones. Steak had zero taste! Tostones seem to have been out for a few , they were a bit stale. No reason for tostone to be stale! That can easily be made right on the spot while the steak is being cooked! Chimi sauce was not it AT ALL! Love the concept but this ain’t it! WHERES THE SAZON! 🤦🏻

Got the Cuban Sandwich. I know my sandwiches. This fell short. The fresh ( pernil ) pork is extremely dry, no flavor. Boring. 1 slice of paper thin ham. You can tell the sandwich press wasn't cleaned off. My sandwich had burnt pieces from other sandwiches that were pressed in it. The taste was on the bread, machine isn't cleaned regularly by taste. which was the only flavor. Trashed it after a few bites. Cute shop, saw it on Instagram and work in the area, figured I'd try. Bathroom is in a bad location in the kitchen, not the cleanest bathroom and one employee came out when I went in, toilet not flushed. Gross. Sorry but this was a 1 and done for me.

Came to Sandwichitos to try out the variety of food. I ordered the churrasco steak , Liz ordered the cheese steak and Tom & Danielle split a churrasco. The fries are a very generous serving . All three sandwiches were delicious I regretted not asking for mozzarella cheese in the steak sandwich. Thank you for a very pleasant lunch Sunday .

Great experience, sandwiches are huge so be prepared to have leftovers. Got the jiujitsu steak sandwich and Spanish pig in Italy. Both were rocking. JJ was super tender, the chimichurri gave it some added texture and punch, sandwich also had a tinge of sweetness. Great sweet and savory vibes. Pig in Italy is a classic combo, love me some broccoli rabe and pork, loved that they did mozzarella instead of provolone. I think melted provolone just feels odd and tastes funky, like a soupy cheese rind. Staff was friendly, fast and attentive, look forward to stopping in again and trying some other sandwiches.

had so much hope for this sandwich. But it was literally awful. The chimichuri sauce was horrible. The steak tasted like it had sugar added to it!! Who was sugary steak eww. The dirty south.. was ok.. Just ok.. nothing great about it. Now highlights of the whole meal was the sweet potato tots.. those with the Chipotle sauce... awesome. I really had so much hope for this place.

After hearing so many good things and passing by this place so often, I finally stopped in and gave it a try. I was instantly greeted by the staff who were warm and so enthusiast about the menu, I wanted to try everything! Lol I ended up getting their Jiu Jitsu Steak sandwich and regular tater tots. Disclaimer: I did get my sandwich to go and once I got home, the sandwich and tater tots were lukewarm but the flavors and freshness of the ingredients were spot on. They provided me the extra chimchurri sauce on the side since I got it to go. The steak was tender but I will say, the sandwich was surprisingly on the sweeter side. Interested in trying other sandwiches. The place is more on the smaller side but there are a few tables and bar stools to sit at. Would recommend eating in!

I had heard and seen the hype about this place and decided to check it out. We went in and it was packed. Just off River Road with some parking available. We got the Joy Jitsu Steak with chimchurri sauce in side as they recommended. We got the chicken Milanese and the Spanish pig in Italy. Took them home and we went town. These sandwiches were gigantic, well crafted and delicious. I would come back here right now if it was closer. There is so much to try on the menu and I also want to try their tots. Worth the trek and meets the hype.

Had the jiu jitsu steak after having been at the spa and it was tasty! The homemade chimichurri had good flavor which made the sandwich even better. The steak seemed to lack some flavor unless it had the sauce but can't complain too much. The tots were also good along with the homemade chipotle sauce which had a spicy kick. Service was great the lady behind the register was friendly and patient. Ambiance seems more like a quick place to stop by and get a bite. Would come back to try other sandwiches !

Stopped by Sandwichitos and tried both the Cuban and the Steak Sandwich. The flavors were definitely there, but the execution was a bit mixed. On the Steak Sandwich, the grease from the meat and chimichurri soaked into the bread, which made it soggy and took away from the experience. The chimichurri itself was a little overpowering, and I found myself wishing the steak came with some kind of cheese to help balance things out. For what you get, the sandwiches do feel a bit overpriced. On the positive side, the Cuban Sandwich was a hit. All the ingredients worked well together, and the pork was flavorful without being dry or greasy--definitely the standout of the meal. The restaurant itself has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the space is clean and well kept. Despite a few drawbacks, I'd come back to try another sandwich and see what else they have to offer.

Walk In and there music playing good vibes very colorful and inviting. Cashier took my order she was very nice gave me some inside tip on what to order? Well are sandwich's was amazing check out the pictures. The. Jin jitsu steak is something I never eat before pressed like a Cuban sandwich with house made chimichurri with caramelized onions Cuban was all so very good and we got a side of tater tots don't forget get sausce on the side have fun with them !!!!!

Been wanting to stop here for a long time and finally got the chance. The sandwiches are pretty unique and look great. We ordered the Jui jitsu steak sandwich and the chicken Milanese. The menu is great, explains each sandwich. There is inside and outside seating so we decided to sit outside. The steak sandwich was outstanding. Steak was tender and the chimichurri sauce was great. Sandwich was very juicy and plenty of flavor. The Milanese sandwich was great too. Chicken was fried perfectly and was not dry at all. The olive spread was great. My only small complaint is that the sandwich could have used more olive spread. Next time I'll ask for extra on the side. Just a small complaint. The sandwiches are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for, they were worth it. Parking can be tricky so just be prepared for that. They were doing a lot of carry out so that's always an option. I will definitely be back to try other sandwiches.

First time here after seeing it go viral so many times I had to try it. The food was great however I'm glad I asked about what it might taste like prior to ordering it because I was not expecting the sweetness of the jujutsu steak if I knew it was sweet I probably would've ordered something else, but I had to try it. The chimichurri was flavorful. Can't wait to come back so I can try more things on the menu. Great service as well Small location but I see that they can grow.

We found this place from Instagram and wanted to see if it lived up to the pictures and hype. It absolutely did. The sandwiches were on point. We had the steak and 3g. Wow. Even the tots were great. The place is small, but perfect for what it is. You can eat outside if the weather permits. The lady at the register was awesome. She waited to put in our order, once a seat was going to be available, so that we wouldn't be waiting to eat. I would def go back!!

The shop is small but full of flavor. The staff were friendly clean and accommodating. Spanish people in the kitchen is always a great sign of good food. My chicken was breaded and fried to perfection! Reminded me of how my mom makes chicken .the sandwiches are HUGE so you better bring three stomachs with you. The tater tots were fresh and their sauces were delicious! Definitely going back anytime I'm in jersey.

Having this place so close to my home is dangerous!! I dilated the visit to this place on purpose for a long time because I had a feeling that it was going to be good and I was gonna get obsessed. I was totally right! This sandwiches are on another level. The baguette bread gets this perfect buttery toast on the outside that you can hear the cracking in every bite. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato tater tots and my husband picked the Jiu-Jitsu Steak. Both incredible tasty. I don't know how they prepare de meat but I was impressed by the quality, tender, soft and flavorful. Also, the size of the sandwich is big. It's true that each sandwich costs around $20 e.a which is high for a casual food place, but to me is worth it! Service was great. Welcoming and helpful staff.

10/10. I can see why this sandwich spot went viral. Where do I start. The sandwiches is exactly what you want from comfort food. From the bread, meat to the sauce it all complimented each other so well. And the grilled cheese!!!! Just order it! You will not be disappointed. This is was a hefty sandwich, I could only finish half of what I ordered which left me nicely full. Not feeling overly full or feeling like a slug afterwards. I was full and belly happy! Sorry I went on and on about the sandwiches lol Service was great, didn't have to wait long for my order and it was chill cozy spot. Can't wait to go back and try the Jiu Jitsu!

Holy wow! Now this is a sandwich spot and everyone knows. At some point there was a line out the door and an hour wait, but it moves and it's worth the wait. Also note that there is a way to preorder online AND to order on the computer at the front. Everything is made fresh, clearly from the wait. The bread is everything in a sandwich and this place delivers. All the sandwiches we got were beyond delicious! The staff were all great and gave folks a heads up when the wait increased.

We found out about Sandwichitos through Instagram! The videos of stretchy cheese worked to get us to drive out of our way to give these sandwiches a try, and they didn't disappoint! The Philly cheesesteak was very delicious as expected and is a very reliable option if you want a sure thing. My son enjoyed it, but I'd prefer to choose a different cheese if we ordered it again. The Spanish pig in Italy & the Jiu Jitsu steak sandwich were both very good, the meat was cooked perfectly, the bread was great, etc, but we both wanted to add a little heat. We asked for hot sauce and were instead given fresh grilled jalapeños & a cup of Chipotle mayo and WOW, just what they both needed. If you like things spicier, please take my advice and ask for them to throw some grilled jalapeños and/or chipotle mayo onto your sandwich. None of us ended up finishing but they all reheated well for a breakfast of champions the next morning. We'll definitely be back!

Not a fan. They weren't the worst. They weren't the best. Price is not a big deal but for $20, I expected to be at least slightly impressed. The chicken/cheese combo was good. I did not like the bread at all. The grease from the meat wet a corner of it, so the bread got soggy (ughhhh) and the bread just wasn't the quality I was hoping for. I wouldn't be in a rush to return. Service was okay. Although the older Spanish cook was talking about me not realizing I too am Hispanic:) anyways ...

Omg amazing sandwiches Jesus soon delicious I cant complain I shared with my mom and my don hrs a big appetite guy he only had 1/2 hours e s sandwiches so when u guys come come empty stomach and a good appetite to take down any of there sandwiches definitely I'll be back in had chicken milanes and my son chimichurri steak sandwich with tarter tots and a passion homemade juice

The food was good very fulfilling. Sweet potatoes tater tots was so good large portions. Music was good. Service good food came right out.

We ordered the DR 3hits to go. But it was kind of busy when we were ordering. But omg the sandwich was so good! Can't wait to go back and try other ones

The sandwiches at this place are awesome. It's a typical deli counter, with tables in the front and outside to seat yourself. There is a value in the taste, but it's a little more pricey than your typical deli (Sandwiches seemed all just under $20). I had the "Spanish Pig in Italy," and it's a solid choice. Caribbean pork in a roast pork sandwich, hell yeah! Wifey had the Jiu Jitsu Steak, which was dripping with their chili sauce... another winner. If we find ourselves out in the are again, we'd go back.

I wish I took a picture of the sandwiches but they were too good to wait! We stopped by here for lunch to go - ordered the DR 3 Hit, Chimichurri & French Cuban. The DR was my favorite - such an original! I grabbed a Tres Leches dessert with me to go as well. For drinks, we ordered 2 fruitshakes - passionfruit and mango. Just YUM!

Ok, let's start with the good. Metered parking-pay with phone and/or app. Outside and inside seating, it was raining so I opted for indoors. I had the tres golpes, sweet potato tater tots, pineapple shake and a tres leches dessert. $40 total The tres golpes sandwich lacked salt, flavor, and some type of sauce. I wish they had or offered a mayo-ketchup. I asked for some ketchup but that still didn't make it appealing to me. The tater tots were basic, again nothing special. The pineapple juice was just ok, water based. The tres leches was nothing special either. I'm sad that it's not as good as I imagined and what people hype it up to be.

If I could give more stars, I would! The sandwiches at Sandwichitos are absolutely amazing. The first thing you notice is the bread. It's perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and holds everything together without getting soggy. Every single bite is bursting with flavor, layered so well that you can taste every ingredient without one overpowering the other. Oh. My. God. These sandwiches are next level! I already can't wait to go back because I want to try every single one on the menu. If you're a sandwich lover (or honestly, even if you're not), this place is a must. And you're the boss of your sandwich. There are modifications for each palate. They really take service to the next level. We sat outside and the aroma of the flavors just compliments the art we just devoured.

The portion size is pretty big so you can split it. Food: (5/5) The Holy Cow is amazing. The portion of beef was perfect. The beef was juicy and flavorful. The sandwich has a good kick to it (but nothing too crazy). The bread was fresh (crispy on the outside and soft on the inside). Tots were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service: (5/5) Food came out quick and staff is nice.

We ordered three sandwiches: the Philly cheesesteak, grilled cheese, and steak sandwich. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. My cheesesteak was overly salty, lacked cheese, and while it was supposed to include onions, I couldn't find any. The bread was tough and chewy, leading my daughter and me to believe it wasn't fresh. The tater tots were standard, frozen bagged tots--nothing special or elevated about them. To make matters worse, the Philly cheesesteak was priced at $20, which felt outrageous considering the quality. For that price, I could get a Wagyu cheesesteak from Water & Wine in Somerset County that is far superior in every way. The restaurant has no parking lot and only a few street parking spots available. Inside, there are just ten shared seats and a very limited side menu. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly, and the place appeared clean. However, the food did not live up to the hype created by their social media. The online promotions make it seem like a hidden gem, but the actual experience fell far short of expectations. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, especially given the price point.

First and foremost. You need other bread options, not just plantain (which is far from bread). The one you're using is too damn hard. Also, to the Morons who did the Facebook review. Everything looked so HUGE, but for $38 for to sandwiches. Never again. The steak was dry, but the French Cub an was good. But the bread got in the way!!! More bread options. Rye at least..

Finally I am able to stop by and wow how did it take me this long? First time I came was during the hype period where you needed to make advance orders through their IG and sandwiches were sold out. It left a sour taste to drive all the way, expecting an amazing sandwich only to be turned away. However nearly a year later I finally ate sandwiches to my hearts content. It's hard to say which is my favorite. We ordered the jiu jitsu, the Cuban, and the holy cow. All 3 were amazing, you can't go wrong. If you're feeling more in the beef mood get the jiu jitsu. The Cuban had a great crunch at the bottom and the cheese pull was immaculate! And I really enjoyed the holy cow the a slight kick and sweetness and the chipotle sauce. I personally am learning towards the holy cow. Eating it right at the restaurant makes it even better in my opinion. I'll definitely be back.

Really nice people with some well thought out sandwiches. However, I'm afraid I was not overwhelmed by the product. I only tried the Holy Cow sandwich, so I could only say what I thought about that one. It had some nice spice with the jalapeños but it was too salty and the steak was overcooked. In addition to that I paid approximately 40.00 dollars for one sandwich with tator tots and two bottles of water including a 20% tip. Too expensive for a sandwich. I don't have a problem paying the price but I think it should be perfect for that amount. The place is very busy and has a small sitting area, they do have tables outside but it was raining limiting the seating. Nice music playing but the sandwich, oh the sandwich!!! Just wasn't up to par.

Entrance was nice neon signs -you come in tiny place a little overcrowded- We ordered the holy cow sandwich sounded all good-but the salty flavor was a little overwhelming for me , the shredded steak charred so that delicious chipotle sauce could not be absorbed sadly. I wish they would have left the steak more rare. Tartars crunchy but again too salty for my taste. Service was good attentive and quick. This was a shared meal $40 with two bottles of water-hmmmm not sure it was worth it . Besides what I experienced the place was full

Great idea. It's a simple spot that sells sandwiches and it works perfectly. I loved the food, really good sandwiches with creative touches. I had the Philly Special, which was delicious. It came out hot, steamy, and super satisfying. The batch was fresh and honestly had me salivating. The space is small, kind of like a Chinese takeout spot but with better vibes and more seating. We sat down and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We also tried the shakes, and they were very good. The staff was super attentive and welcoming. It's a little pricey, but it feels like a treat-yourself kind of place, perfect for once in a while. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it for anyone craving unique, specialty sandwiches.

We ordered jiujitzu steak sandwich. The bread was nicely crispy but not overly crispy where it's flaking off and making a mess. The steak was seasoned nicely and it filled the sandwich nicely. Surprisingly, the steak doesn't fall out of the sandwich making a mess. The chimichurri sauce was tasting but it did make the sandwich very oily. The restaurant has about 4 places to sit inside and eat so it's not a large place. This is definitely a sandwich that needs to be eaten right after it cooked so it doesn't get soggy from the chimichurri sauce.

On our trip from California we stopped at Sandwichitos, best decision EVER! Their Jiu-Jitsu Steak sandwich is amazing. Markin, the owner, is such a great person. Was very kind and helpful with our order. Definitely recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Markin.

No joke - best sandwiches I've ever eaten. I couldn't make up my mind, and neither could my two friends, so we decided to order 3 different sandwiches and try a bit of each. The red machine sandwich was unreal. I never thought I could think a simple chicken sandwich with cheese and sauce would be amazing but it was absolutely phenomenal. The jiu jitsu steak sandwich and the DR 3 hits were also delicious. The place is very clean and everyone was very nice and made great recommendations. Parking is a little tough nearby but there are options within walking distance.

I wish I could tell you I'll be back but this was not the case. I had high expectations for this place as I've seen it advertised a lot on social media and my husband has had it bookmarked for a while. First of all the prices for the sandwiches are insane , $18.50 for a sandwich- don't get me wrong they're huge you can share one but wow. Second of all you will get messy with any option you choose. I asked for their most popular sandwiches and was told the jiu jitsu steak , the French Cuban and the 4 cheese grilled cheese- so I ordered them all. The jiu jitsu steak was smothered in chimichurri sauce but like to the extreme where it was just so overwhelming. The chimichurri sauce wasn't even good, I left more than half the sandwich because I couldn't eat it, the meat was blah. Next up was the French Cuban , nothing was wrong with it but nothing was out of the ordinary either - the taste was just eh. The 4 cheese grilled cheese was the only one worth eating as it wasn't terrible, but even so I did not finish it . We did get some tater tots that were not good and tamarindo juice that tasted like perfume. I would not come back.

Ordered the dirty south sandwich on uber eats and delivery was really quick/well packaged. Sandwich was really unique - their spin on buffalo chicken but included onion rings which really elevated the taste. The chicken tasted high quality and fresh. I would love to try it there as it was cold and I ended up microwaving but that is not the fault of the restaurant, just how take out is and microwaving did the trick! Will definitely be returning to try other sandwiches and their tater tots too next time. The price seemed steep for a sandwich but after trying I completely understand the price - we shared one sandwich and it was more than enough food. Highly highly recommend trying!

From the time I sat down and look at the menu, I told the person behind the counter, to please be patient its my first time. He tells me you about to eat the best sandwich you have ever ate in your life. I went with the Philly special, wow. The freshener and taste of the stake, the cheese wiz, bread OMG, best sandwich ever, super huge, and the taste. You have to visit el sandwichito, nice and clean. You won't regret it. Walked into this little shop not expecting much but i was amazed by these sandwiches. The place is small has a couple tables ,clean and good music. As soon as you walk in they greet you which is a nice change. The food is fresh made to order will definitely be going back!

This spot is a hit!!! Delicious sandwiches with a Dominican/Italian twist to it. The ambience was pretty cool kind of a deli for the counter, but with some sitting spots that you can have your food there. I was able to taste three sandwiches and they were all delicious. The service was great. Even though is a counter to order the lady at the register came to us and asked is everything was OK or if we need it anything else. She was amazing. Definitely recommend this spot

I found this place via Yelp as I was searching for a lunch spot on a Friday. I saw the the reviews and pictures and decided to give this place a shot. The place has a clean takeout vibe that has indoor seatings. Menu is on the right side as soon as you walk in. I ended up getting the Jiu Jitsu steak ($18.50) which was solid, meat was marinated and a lil sweet. Got the tater tots ($6.50) which was also solid and a can of ginger ale ($2.50). I was definitely full after finishing the meal. Overall it was a good experience. The total came out to $29.32 (tax included). Kinda steep for me especially for lunch but it was worth the try. * Street parking * Moist toilette available

Food is great delicious and take time no rush on you're order. Sandwiches are close to 8 & 10 on a 1 -10 scale. Great environment. Parking on street.

WOW! It was really hard to pick a sandwich, they all sound so delicious and looks even more delicious on their Instagram page. I decided to go with the chicken Milanese - I thought from their Instagram video, the green spread was pesto, but it's actually an olive spread, I don't like olives so I asked for that on the side to try it out because I'm all for trying new things. I normally don't like regular olives, but this olive spread was actually pretty good and really added to the sandwich itself so I ended up just opening my sandwich and spreading it on there, it was so flavorful and delicious. We also got the sweet potato tots, they were crispy and also delicious, the cheese sauce definitely tasted like cheese sauce so if you like cheese, try it out! I had a sip of the passionfruit shake and it was pretty good as well, I also tried my fiancé's steak from Philly special and it was really good. overall, we really enjoyed our meal here and we went during the week around lunchtime, wasn't too busy so we were able to sit down and eat there. I love their clean, modern simplistic look. It's pretty laid back and quiet which is always nice. There's only street parking, I'm sure it gets busy on the weekends so just make sure you give yourself enough time. The service was great. She was really helpful and gave us a lot of great suggestions as we were ordering like the olive spread on the side, the chipotle sauce on the side as I was thinking about getting, another sandwich that had the chipotle sauce again prices are hefty, but it's pretty worth it when and if you have a craving for a good sandwich!

Had the steak sandwich. It was awesome. Thin cut steak perfectly spiced and even more perfectly grilled / charred staked jn multiple layers covered generously with a really tasty chimichurri in the perfect toasted bun. Better than I had ever hoped for, a this was a destination visit after watching an Insta video. What a find, and will definitely go back

Sandwiches were out of this world. Service was awesome. Sandwiches were definitely among the best I've ever had. The JiuJitsu Steak is very possibly the best steak sandwich ever. Totally stole big bites from the rest of my fam's food. We will totally be making the trip again to make it through the rest of the menu.

Sandwiches were tasty and filling and the bread was perfect, tater tots were crispy, and the mango smoothie was just okay. The restaurant staff are friendly and service was fast. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The only down part is that i didn't see a bathroom to wash my hands after eating and sandwiches can get messy.
