"If you’re looking to spend under $15 on a very filling, delicious meal near the Lower East Side, Sandy’s Coffee Shop needs to be on your radar. This Dominican, takeout-only spot under the Williamsburg bridge on Delancey serves all types of fried fish and chicken, empanadas, and different stewed meats. On a recent visit, we opted for two types of pork - hunks of the roasted variety and pig’s feet in tomato sauce - over rice, peas, and beans. The roast pork was citrusy and charred, the pig’s feet were pleasantly gelatinous and rich, while the rice, peas, and beans soaked up all the flavors. We even added on a pasteles en hoja and a couple of empanadas to our order and our total still clocked in under $15." - Carlo Mantuano

The sign out front says Waffles and Pancakes, but there is only one waffle on the menu. It was also the quietest pancake house I have ever been in. It was eerily silent. The food was OK and the service was good, but the silence creeped every one out. The shady parking out front was the nicest part of the whole experience. The ladies room was clean, but the men's room was not. No changing stations, either.

Waitress was rude, she wrote orders but served wrong food. When we asked for it, she just show led what her wrote and volume up her voice. cups on the table were so dirty, one was lipstick on it, and one was broken, it took over 30 mintlnutes to get served. The table on our back, they were just left cause food was not severed over 40 minutes.

EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE....Sunday about 11am...party of 10...we were seated right away. Should have been a sign....We were ready to order and our waitress was at our table and someone came over and made her tend to another table. The person didn’t even apologize or excuse herself...we thought that was rude. When we finally ordered all of our food was not made. A burger was not cooked well done and instead of making a new burger they bought out the same burger and the cheese was burnt. The chicken fingers were burnt. The grits taste like water and the french toast was bland. Oh and if you order cheese on your omelette it’s extra.

First we entered and was seated with food in the chairs and the windows seals look like they never get cleaned. Manager visited every table but ours several times, my wife ordered the steak then after waiting over 20 min for our food she was told that they ran out of steak sauce ( it is 10.30am). She ordered a glass of water that had food around the cup. The server came out with our coffee and the coffee container was just gross. I only ordered scrambled eggs and they were cold. When leaving the manager came to check us out and asked "how was everything"? We confronted him with all the issues and he gave a 6$ discount.

For all you coffee drinkers, their coffee is absolutely delicious. The food was not only good but the portions were big. Great service with a clean family atmosphere.

Our waitress just walked up to our table as soon as we got there and asked what we wanted to drink. She did not introduce herself and she did not make us feel welcome. Our food took so long to get to us it was like over an hour for simple breakfast and the place was not busy. Our friends try to put our waitress into a good mood but she was rude. My friend made a complaint and we got our whole meal for free. The food was actually good that's why it is getting two stars but I probably wouldn't go there again.

Nice family owned pancake house. Food was very good. Yes, it needs some updating, but the new owners just purchased it and are super friendly. The French toast was delish! And the bourbon street omelette yummy!! Plenty of food, more than we could eat, served in a timely manner and with a friendly smile- thank you!

We come here whenever we are staying in the area. The service has always been great, and the staff is always so friendly. I really enjoy the breakfast, especially the pancakes. They smell wonderful and taste absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place.
