This is a new favorite spot. The cocktails are wonderful - incredibly well made and complex, with the liquors also really nice and interesting on their own. The commenter who said the vibe was a mix of a high end DC cocktail bar and the local neighborhood spot was absolutely right. This distillery is absolutely worth the trek from DC - we will be back!

Apple brandy and Dutch gin were pretty good. Both co-owners were super easy to talk to and ask questions about their distillery.

Nate is bomb...drinks are fire. Strong community, everybody knows everybody but still welcoming to newcomers. 11/10 would recommend!

Lovely distillery. We have given their spirits as gifts a number of times, and enjoyed some for ourselves. Now that they have reopened their bar space on weekends, you can enjoy a cocktail or a flight of their offerings in a very cozy setting.

I love gin and I was excited to support local business. However, I didn’t like the way the owner spoke to me especially since I was a paying customer. Be aware that there are different types of customers and that I was literally trying to translate for my friends who are deaf. My advice is to make accommodations as you may have customers whose first language isn’t spoken English. If you work on your customer service and have more variety this establishment will be great and flourish. Best of luck!

Google
amazing spot that somehow simultaneously feels like a fancy DC cocktail bar and a casual hometown spot. The owners are great, and they've been expanding their team + hours + drink options — can't see what happens next!

The spirits are fantastic, the owners are friendly, and it's a great place to visit and try the latest batch. Can't wait for the new tasting room to open!

Yelp
Very cool distillery that offers a variety of gins, brandies, and whiskies that all have distinct flavors. Everything is made on site and their owners are really fun to chat with

Yelp
The distillery was really cool. Many of the products are made on site. We went for the tastings and to pick up winter gifts. On the flight tastings you are able to choose from gin, Brandy, and a few other options. The atmosphere was really laid back and the staff super helpful and informative. Overall I thought it was a great experience.

Yelp
Everyone is always nice and ready to make great drinks. It's a great place to stop through for a bit while running errands.

Yelp
This place rocks. I follow them on IG but I've never gone there even though it's close by. Well on NYE, they advertised a pear brandy that was available by delivery. Now I love pear cocktails so I gave it a try. What gets this place 5 stars isn't just the booze , it's the service! I messaged to confirm I could still order for delivery even though it was already NYE. They said "absolutely." And no lie, before I could drive back home from the eastern shore, that brandy was waiting for me when I got home. How was the brandy? Delightful. Now I usually savor alcohol but by early February, that's right six weeks later, the brandy was gone and I needed more for this hot cider that's been my weekend companion. For me, that's saying something because I never finish a bottle of any spirit. The brandy rrrooocckkkss!! I reached out to ask about a dilemma, pear brandy or apple brandy? I explained that I could get both but I need to watch my waist line so I keep it to one bottle of alcohol at at time. Not only did they provide me with decision making information, they gave me a coupon code too! I mean booze, communication, and coupons, I think I'm in love. I opted for curbside pickup and that was a breeze. I parked out front, the order was packed and ready, and I was back in the car in less than 2 minutes.

Yelp
The "Maryland Rye Whiskey" is a must try and the "Old Fashioned" is the best I've ever had. I recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

Yelp
Sangfroid Distilling is a pleasant new entry onto the blooming Maryland craft distillery market. How new? Their doors opened to the public about four weeks ago. Co-Owners, Jeff and Nate have nurtured their passion for making fine beverages for years. Starting with brewing, they have now firmly transition into the fine art of distilling. Distilling raised to the level of an art form may be accurate, as they were completely sold out of their Pear Brandy. Leaving only their delightful gin behind. Gin that needs to be replaced, as both the 750ml and the 350ml bottles keep marching out the door in the arms of the happy public. Speaking of Gin, make sure you go for a tour and tasting. Let Nate take you through the different ways to enjoy Sangfroid's gin. You will go from, "That's pretty good" all the way to "Wow! I'm sold. Give me a bottle!" Brandy topping you list instead of gin? Switch over to Jeff for tales of reclamation of the 45 acre apple orchards, rain fall, harvest, and all the steps that lead up to soon to be replenished supply of brandy. Sangfroid is young and growing, with a very bright future ahead of them. Get to know them now, so that years down the road you can say how you knew them back at the beginning of their journey.

Yelp
I recently moved to Takoma Park and realized I have a small distillery right in the backyard/neighborhood. Sangfroid is relatively new, doors have been open 8 months but distilling has been happening for almost a year, and they are already turning out exciting spirits. This is the most local, handcrafted, small batch experience you will find in the DMV. Clearly the focus is on product and making something fully in-house and Maryland local. If you're interested in a high-production product experience, go to One Eight or Sagamore. But, if you want a more unique product and a personal touch from the owners/founders/distillers you need to go to Sangfroid. These guys understand that there is no shortage of American Whiskey in the market and the need for more local/exceptional/unique product.

Yelp
Sangfroid, whose rye whisky, pear brandy, and gin we've been enjoying at home, is open for cocktails in the weekend now! We went down to try it out--tried the Old Fashioned, Negroni, and Dutch Mule. All the drinks were perfect--especially the Old Fashioned--and the guys are super friendly and helpful. Another great addition to Hyattsville!

Yelp
Best rye whiskey in Maryland. Which in turn might make it the best rye whiskey, period. Smooth, buttery, estery goodness with the perfect amount of rye bite. These guys are great and showcase local ingredients, creating masterful products as the end result. In addition to the amazing whiskey, check out their Dutch style gin (genever) and fruit brandies (what the German speaking world calls schnapps). I've tried all of the local distilleries and haven't found Sangfroid's equal. Prost!

Yelp
These guys are great. They're doing interesting things with passion and fun. Rye, Dutch gin, aged gin, syrup aged in rye barrels ... what's not to like.
