The Best Indian Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"With several locations including the one the new State Farm building in the Perimeter Mall area, owner Srinivasa Nimmagadda dubbed the restaurant “the Indian version of Chipotle.” Create build-your-own meals by choosing from proteins with carbs and vegetables as rice bowls, burrito-style rolls, or salads. Top it off with a house yogurt or tangy sweet tamarind sauce, and a side of vegetable samosas, mango chicken, or paratha. The menu includes several vegetarian and vegan options." - Nandita Godbole

Fast Casual Indian Restaurant Sankranti Opens at the State Farm Building in Duwnoody Perimeter Center | Eater Atlanta

"Now open for takeout and delivery in the State Farm building in Dunwoody, I note that Sankranti — which owner Srinivasa Nimmagadda has called “the Indian version of Chipotle” — aims to fill a void in fast-casual Indian offerings by assembling northern and southern Indian dishes at the counter. Dine-in service is set to begin in the next few weeks. The menu includes kathi rolls, pulao, samosas, and kabobs, while curry bowls come with protein choices such as tikka chicken, malai chicken, lamb, and paneer tikka masala; dessert options include gulab jamun and rasmalai. Nimmagadda, who also operates a Sankranti banquet hall and restaurant in Johns Creek, plans to open multiple Atlanta locations over the next year and eventually franchise to make the concept more mainstream. Sankranti is open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., offers online ordering for takeout and delivery, and has outdoor seating." - Beth McKibben

Atlanta Restaurants: Fast Casual Indian Restaurant Sankranti Is Opening on Perimeter Center Parkway in Dunwoody, Georgia | Eater Atlanta

"I'm looking forward to a new fast-casual version of Sankranti opening this fall at the State Farm building in Dunwoody: owner Srinivasa Nimmagadda is trying to make Indian cuisine more mainstream by following a “healthy and approachable” Chipotle-style model, with plans for ten Atlanta locations next year and an ultimate goal to franchise nationally. The menu is designed for exploration and counter assembly—build-your-own curry bowls, kathi rolls, pulao, kabobs, and snacks like samosas—with protein choices such as tikka chicken, malai chicken and lamb, paneer tikka masala, and mixed vegetable kurma; the concept draws on dishes from both northern and southern India and will seat about 30 people including a patio. Nimmagadda also owns a Johns Creek restaurant and banquet hall called Sankranti, and this more laid-back iteration aims to fill a fast-casual Indian-food void in the market." - Beth McKibben

I had the Paneer Biryani bowl with shredded carrots, diced onions and shredded red cabbage. I added hot, yogurt and mint sauces. I also had a Veggie Samosa (they’re a must have🫶🏾). The samosa had great flavor and was perfectly cooked. The paneer and biryani were also perfectly cooked and seasoned and my choice of sauces were a perfect combination enhancing the flavors of my bowl. The person who served me was very friendly and helpful. I recommend this when you’re in the mood for flavorful “Chipotle” style Indian food.

Beware of this restaurant. Very bad indian food. Ordered for very first time, goat biriyani is like tamrind rice on bottom and few hardly cooked pieces on top and they say this as goat biriyani. I do not know how they justify this as goat biriyani. Atleast tamrind rice have spices, peanuts so on..this one rice just mixed with plain curry, its looks like our school lunchbox and taste is very very bad. They cost this rice as $24, too pricy. I will never try to visit their other branches. Not worth for single penny.

Decent for a quick office lunch, but not ideal for Indian food enthusiasts. I came in craving flavorful, spicy Indian food, but left underwhelmed. The menu was limited, with some items unavailable, and the ordering process—though Chipotle-style—felt more confusing than it should’ve been. Staff were kind but didn’t clearly explain the options. As a vegetarian, I was initially told there were only two choices, which turned out to be inaccurate. I wanted a simple meal of curries with naan, but ended up with mostly a heap of rice with a hodge podge of various items. No chutneys or hot sauces to customize spice level—just some jalapeños after asking. A letdown if you're looking for bold, authentic flavors.

Stopped by this fast casual Indian restaurant on a recent trip to ATL and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! The portion was large and the food was cooked fresh. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in/around the area.

I just ordered to Uber Eats and I got a under cooked chicken piece and the quantity of the food is like they feeding a mice and the naan is Hard like a rock and the tacos smell like raw chicken siting there for week

The portion size of their food is ridiculous for the price. We got the butter chicken for takeout and it is barely over a cup of butter chicken. I will never go to this restaurant again. I’m so disappointed. I paid over $17 for a cup of chicken some rice and a pita

Did a pickup order. I tried the curry bowl with mixed greens and samosa chat. The bowl quantity was less and the mixed greens was just some spinach leaves which I had no idea since they didn’t have any proper description in the menu and no one would pick up the phone when I tried calling a few times. The samosa chat was very dry and bland. Could have been better.
