I recently visited Sankrathi for their lunch buffet, and while the overall experience was decent, it had its highs and lows. The interior decor truly stood out, it was warm, traditional, and full of nostalgic elements that reminded me of childhood visits to my grandparents' home. From pickle jars to rangoli designs on the walls, every detail showcased Telugu cultural roots beautifully. The ambiance was definitely the highlight of our visit. As for the food, the buffet had both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, but the variety was a bit limited. One nice surprise was the live dosa counter, and I was especially happy to see bitter gourd curry, one of my all-time favorites and something rarely seen in Indian buffets here. We chose this place because of the name "Sankrathi,* expecting authentic South Indian flavors. While the food wasn't bad, it didn't fully live up to that expectation. Overall, a lovely place to visit if you're looking for a beautifully done interior and calm atmosphere. But in terms of food, it's just okay, not quite the traditional taste we were hoping for. # Note: This review is only based on their buffet - I haven't tried their à la carte menu yet.

Went for a lunch buffet on a Sunday evening around 1.30pm. The food was almost finished and they took a long time to refill. The food was not at all hot. Imagine eating cold biryani! The food variety is okay in the buffet. Good options for veg and non veg. But they missed out on basic stuff like mint chutney.

Vegetarian folks : please avoid !!! Do not call on weekends - a lady will pick and tell you nothing as either she will be in Kitchen or somewhere other than front desk, will not help you with buffet menu and says come and chek : Wao ! The service here is as bad as the food choice and barely tests good. Did the mistake to go for a buffet of Sat noon - regret it and paid $80 for 2 adults and 2 kids. When i asked you don’t have Good Veg options, The Manager or the person who was taking care of seating showed me the area where they had options of satly Wada, Corn balls - No cheese in it hard chew, and Pure Maida poori - No channa, no other starter. And 1 Paneer gravy - not good enough. This is perfect restaurant to draw a line between Veg menu, spread and choices vs Non-veg options, selection - not worth ! Not recommended, not going back !

We ordered green chilli paneer, chicken tikka, masala peanuts, garlic chilli naan, Peshawari naan, and chicken tikka masala. Food was delicious. However, the quantity was little less. Service was very good.

The Sankranti Indian Restaurant is an excellent place for large groups to enjoy a meal. They have extensive options of seating and endless food possibilities. The service at this place was very respectable and the service was awesome. If you’re planning a large venue option, this place has a hall so you could use two holes. They also have a second floor for lunch dining we were able to access that as we were coming for dinner, but even on the ground floor, they have a lot of creative seating with boots tables, etc. When we’re talking about food we like the food. It has great quality, one exception that gives it a four-star rating is the quantity they service the food and if we get the paneer, we get a respectable amount but if you order other dishes, they’re generally fine the atmosphere as I said before was very good as they have two floors and creative learning experiences, Service was also very good. We have multiple servers on standby and they’re always friendly and nice thing about this place is that it is not very crowded so if you’re waiting in line, there will be a lot of lines and it would be easy to get a table.

Today, I ordered some takeaway food, and I was extremely disappointed with the quality. One of the items, Veg Manchurian, was completely spoiled and rotten — it was inedible, and I couldn’t take even a single bite. On top of that, it was overly spicy despite specifically requesting it to be very mild. The Dal Makhani was also quite disappointing — excessively salty and completely lacking in flavor. I truly don’t understand why this place is being recommended. If a restaurant is serving spoiled food, it raises serious concerns about hygiene and quality. I strongly advise against eating here.

Was here for a buffet on a weekday (Thursday) and disappointed..! The Naan was rock hard, had to ask for a fresh batch but even that wasn’t great as well .. and the dessert mainly the semia payasam has gone bad and not edible ..! You could clearly smell it, was surprised that they continued to serve to people ..! They do all sorts of promotions claiming to be the best restaurant but these are basics that they should be doing right .. ! Never going back here .!

Big place upstairs and down. We had the lunch buffet good price but did not have mint sauce which I was hoping for. Asked if we could order garlic naan they could not make it. Only at night willing to pay for it but no. The biryani was good until I noticed a wire filament in my food. A found a piece from a pot scrubber in my food. The lettuce was turning brown. Lack luster fresh vegetable options. The hostess was very polite. They were slow to refill our water and we ordered mango lassis for two and they were great. More than likely will not return to this location.

Yelp
I think this restaurant is a true hidden gem! It's in a kind of discrete location, but this place is the best out of the ones tried so far. It's a very spacious place, with the buffet located upstairs. I've only gone to the buffet, but want to try the kulfi that's listed on their menu. The service was good as well. The buffet has a wide variety of dishes, including three options for rice and dessert options as well. I actually liked all of the available dishes and thought they were all worth trying. I would especially recommend trying the (what I think is) dosa, which is made custom in a stall next to the buffet. Crispy and delicious! Will definitely come here in the future.

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's Day! Such a cute fancy Indian restaurant located OTP Atlanta- in Johns Creek. The restaurant has Indian seat and work. The location is a bit hidden from the main road, but that's what makes it a private dining experience. They had a 4 page paper print out of the Valentine's Day menu, which seemed the prices were raised by $2-$3 more compared to normal days (bc it was Valentine's Day). The food is great! We ordered everything Medium, and it wasn't too spicy! Definitely try the Paneer Nest, that was a unique dish I've never had anywhere else. The drinks are ok, they water down quickly. Overall it's a good spot for a date night or dinner with family. There's not that many fancy Indian restaurants outside of Atlanta, so I'm glad there is this one on the north side.

Yelp
A solid lunch Buffet go-to. They refresh the dishes frequently and have a wide variety of items to select from. All you have to do is go up the stairs when you enter the front door and deviate to the room right of the top of the staircase. Things you should know: I. PARKING There's a massive private parking lot out front. Easy and convenient. II. SERVICE The dishes are fresh and when it runs out, they restock quickly. You might have to wait in line for a table, but it's worth it. II. QUALITY For the vast variety, they do a fantastic job at making everything flavorful. III. CAPACITY Very busy on a weekend. Be prepared to wait in line for a table. Don't worry, the line moves quickly.

Yelp
My family & I enjoyed our lavish dinner last Saturday. The building is large and is divided into a few event halls/rooms and a main dining. That night there were at least 2 other events happening this making the parking lot full and we had to park across the street. The main dining room is fully decorated with Indian decors. The place was bustling. Every table was occupied and I saw several large parties (10+). We were quickly seated, handed menus, and poured water. They don't have enough waiters to speedily serve all customers. We waited quite a while to get our orders taken and then some more to get our food served. When we ran out of water, it was a while until we can flag a server to refill our glasses. Food wise, they serves good dishes with flavors. I like my curry spicy...theirs is just mild. The spices & flavors are there and the lamb is moist & succulent but I'd prefer it a few notches spicy . My DH really enjoyed the grilled snapper with coconut flavored rice. Price is also reasonable considering this is a "higher end" Indian establishment (due to its decor and spice quality).

Yelp
Decent place in John's creek for Indian food. Sankranti is massive with lots of space for hosting events. We came on Friday night and there were 2 events in their reception/ballrooms while we sat in the fine dining restaurant area which is pretty small. We started with some apps and then got naan and a goat pulav to share for the entree. The apps were my favorite for the night, especially the tangdi kebabs. The naan was pretty good too, and I thought the goat pulav was just fine. If I come back it'll definitely just be a meal of appetizers. Overall, the food was good and prices were reasonable, but service was a little slow. Probably won't be back just because of the drive, but was nice to try it out!

Yelp
I just wanted to update my original review to say I've now been back to Sankranti for lunch three times and love it more and more each time. The CHICKEN BIRYANI and GOAT CURRY have become my favorite staples. However, items on the daily buffet change, so I have discovered TWO new favorites: The FISH PULUSU (5+ stars) over their shrimp fried rice was DIVINE!!! I didn't know I needed this in my life until today and now I'm not sure if I can live without it! Also on my can't live without list is the dessert called GULAB JAMUN (5+ stars). It is made mainly from milk solids, traditionally from khoya, which is milk reduced to the consistency of a soft dough, fried, then soaked with an aromatic syrup spiced with green cardamom, rose water, saffron, and served warm. It is TRULY DELICIOUS, but very sweet. I found that the rice kheer helps cut the sweetness when eaten together and the fryums (colorful puffs) help reset your tongue with their saltiness. The fruit custard is also tasty! All of these items together made my latest visit a delight! One other item I must mention is the PONGAL. It's a simple porridge type rice dish, but it goes so well with any of the entrées and also helps reset my palate from all the flavors of the other dishes. ENJOY! - - - - - LUNCH BUFFET REVIEW Sankranti was the location of the latest Yelp Elite Event I attended almost a month ago to the date. We were allowed one entrée and one drink. I chose the Goat Pulav and found myself rather disappointed with both it and service. I said as much in my review. However, after discovering they have both breakfast AND lunch buffets, I made myself a promise to return. The lunch buffet ($14.95) was actually less in price than the menu prices of most dinner entrées. So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get a better sampling of the menu since most items were completely unfamiliar to my tongue. [ THE FOOD ] Most yelpers who attended the event raved about the Chicken Biryani, so I was very pleased to see it available on the buffet. I started slow with a tiny sampling of almost everything and after determining what I most liked, went back for seconds and even thirds. Not being much of a spicy food eater I was EXTREMELY pleased the food was very mild and spiced in a way I could handle, allowing me to enjoy the flavor of each dish. Everything was acceptable, but some items were exceptional. Those items were: * CHICKEN BIRYANI | 4.5 stars As flavorful as advertised. My cultural instincts would have preferred a tad more salt, but the aromatic biryani spice mix combined with the tenderness of the chicken and moistness of the rice was perfection. I enjoyed the chicken legs the most. * PANEER TIKKA MASALA | 5 stars I must admit I had absolutely no idea what I was eating at the time, but I know now paneer means cheese. What I DID know is I loved the flavor of the gravy! Rather sweet actually and helped calm my tongue from some of the other spices of other dishes. I hear tikka masala is traditionally a spicy gravy, but this one was not. Actually, most of the buffet items were mild and only a few had a slight kick. I enjoyed this over their Asian style fried rice. * BUTTER CHICKEN | 4 stars A mild creamy sauce with chunks of boneless chicken. * MANCHURIAN BABY CORN | 4 stars I just loved it! Everything about it delighted me! * VIRGIN PIÑA COLADA | 5 stars Excellent flavor and very useful for cooling down the tongue of those of us who are spice wimps! [ SERVICE / ATMOSPHERE ] Sankranti is a very large facility with multiple dining spaces. The lunch buffet is held on the second floor which feels a little more open and casual than the first floor dining room. There were three food islands: One housed the Chicken Tandoor, Chicken Biryani, Goat Curry, Chicken Curry, Egg Curry, Butter Chicken and Fried Rice while the second had most of your sides + naan and the third island presented desserts. I was entirely too full to even attempt to try any of the dessert selections. Some of the offerings listed included: Pyasam, Dahi Kadhi & Raita. The staff was friendly and accommodating. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] The current lunch price is a real value considering the amount of food I ate! The buffet in my opinion is the perfect way to dabble into Indian Cuisine for those who are not exactly familiar and don't know what to order (like me). My first plate was basically a small sampling of everything while my second plate was loaded with all the items I liked the most. My third plate was almost exclusively the Chicken Biryani + a small serving of the Paneer Tikka Masala on fried rice. While I didn't really enjoy the food at the yelp event a month ago, I was thrilled with the buffet and now find myself eager to return with my wife and friends for yet another round! Thank you Sankranti for a wonderful lunch experience. So glad you hosted that event because I doubt I would have ever found you otherwise! Sincerely, Your newest loyal customer 2023 / 3

Yelp
Went for breakfast buffet around 11 am, they don't refresh food that frequently and you end up waiting for 10 to 15 minutes. Mediocre quality and taste of few items served

Courtney M.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! This is a beautiful restaurant and I can't wait to return to visit for the weekend buffet. The food was amazing. We got the Kaju Paneer Biryani, Samosas (not pictured) , fried rice and the BEST mango cheesecake! The Biryani was so fresh, I asked for medium heat and it paired perfect with the yogurt raita. I loved the added cashews that provided texture to the dish. My son loved the fried rice. Now into dessert, mango cheesecake. It was more like divine heaven in your mouth. The cheesecake had a mousse like texture with the forward taste of mango and sweetness but not too much sweetness. They should sale the cheesecake as a whole instead of slices.

Yelp
This restaurant/event space is right by my house and I've driven past it countless times. I always see the sign claiming it is the best buffet in Atlanta, so I have been looking for a chance to see if it's true. I don't know that I would go so far as to call it the best but it's certainly the best buffet for its value. And it probably has some of the best staff. I went with my family (including a toddler and a new born) for the lunch buffet which is located upstairs. When I sat down, the waiter greeted us and offered us either ice or room temperature water. I asked him if I let my toddler try some of the food (baby led weaning and all) if I would get charged, and he assured me he would only count the adults eating. Although I don't think I could definitively call this the best buffet in town, I believe this place has the best butter chicken in town. But, the winning dish at the buffet is actually the goat curry, so it probably also has the best goat curry in town too. One thing I think is important to be aware of going in is the spice level for most of the dishes. While my mother and I could handle the spice, my husband tried a few things but ultimately was only able to eat a couple of the many dishes they offered. I also wasn't super crazy about their dessert bar, but it's nothing so offending that I would not recommend stopping by for a nice sit down. The staff was super attentive with refilling our waters and removing our dirty dishes, when we got up to get more food from the buffet. As toddlers are wont to do, my daughter ended up with more rice on the floor than in her belly. We attempted to clean it up, but the waitstaff stopped us multiple times. Insisting that it was their job and they just wanted us to have a good time and enjoy the food. Which we absolutely did. While I don't know if it's the best buffet period, it is the best for my family in terms of location, price, and how we were all treated.

Yelp
Simply cannot understand how some of the basic Indian dishes were so sub-par. I remember there was a time when this place was so good and popular. I can only assume that the cooks have changed and no one is paying attention to the quality. Service was the best part of today's experience. Service - 4/5 Food - 1/5 Ambience - 3/5

Priyanka R.

Yelp
1. Beautiful ambience 2. Good food 3. Bit pricey! ;) 4. Couple misleading things which were overlooked by the food 5. Food portion - Not more, not less I've been looking forward to visit this place for months and when I did finally, it was really worth the wait. The ambience was absolutely stunning in that I felt I was in a Dhabha/Karaikudi type setup restaurant in India. I went for a Sunday dinner and the restaurant was quite empty. It was only my husband and another couple (a little surprising as most Indian restaurants get busy on Sundays too). Anyhoo, coming to the food, we ordered Veg balls in Manchurian sauce for appetizers. The waiter said we'd get 8 pieces but there were only 5 which was a little misleading! For the main course, we had butter roti, garlic naan and vegetables in 'Chettinad curry'. Oh my, these were absolutely delicious! One thing about the curry was that the vegetables were a bit undercooked which made me reduce a star for the rating. Finally, for dessert, we had 'Custard Payasam' which was super hot, gooey, delicious and came along in a nice cute little pot. It was not too sweet which I really appreciate. Although the description in the menu said that it's made of rice, our dessert was made of vermicelli, again which was another misleading factor. Overall, it was a pretty nice experience!

Yelp
From the decor, the staff, food and atmosphere everything is awesome and it depicts an old South Indian house which gives a real homely feel. The interiors feature hand-carved wooden elements and architecture. The menu is unique compared to other Indian restaurants. This place is perfect for family and group of friends. The staff is wonderful and the menu is plentiful but not overly intimidating. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, clean and spacious overall. The Banana Leaf Fish has perfect blend of spices. The flavor profile of this dish will be to the likes of most subcontinent seafood lovers. The Onion Pakoda was fresh and delicious. Always my favorite is their Chicken and Mutton Pulav. The spice levels are perfect to my taste. Sankranti Restaurant is an Indian and Intercontinental fine dining restaurant along with Private dining and banquet facility that's in Johns Creek, GA. I am very happy that Sankranti restaurant started buffets after COVID during weekends. Their lunch timings are Tuesday To Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and dinner timings are Tuesday To Sunday - 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday's they are closed. Little expensive pricewise but worth it. They also have an huge banquet facility which is nice for events, big and small. They have ample free parking in front of the restaurant. I would recommend everyone to give Sankranti a try. I definitely plan on coming back soon.

Yelp
This was the BEST meal I have had in a long time. So good i forgot to take pics of everything aside from the mixed vegetable korma. Safe to say my phone did NOT eat first because i did instead. Anyways, I tried my friend's biryani and also had naan with my korma. Everything was soo flavorful with a perfect level of spice, if you like relatively spicy foods. I just can't get over how this meal really hit the spot. If i would've eaten any more my friends would've had to roll me out the restaurant. The picture i took is deceiving because the bowl may look small, but make no mistake by assuming that means it was an inadequate portion. I came hungry and left borderline overstuffed and i wasn't even able to finish everything i ordered. The staff was very friendly and we were seated immediately even on a busy saturday night. Despite there being multiple events at the restaurant, our food all came out pretty quickly- maybe less than 20 mins? (I would've waited two hours for that meal though). Safe to assume I will most definitely be back because they had so many vegetarian friendly options and Im counting down the days until I can try every. single. one of them.

Yelp
Great service. Very nice ambiance. Lunch Buffet: Buffet items were cold. We were one of the first ones to start the lunch buffet on Saturday as soon as it started and all the items were already cold. I don't get it. They seem like they were prepared in the early morning and served at noon. Non veg items were overcooked and tasted a bit bland. Non-Veg: If you cook chicken or goat above 165 degrees and kept cooking it at very high temperatures, it sucks all the life out of them. They will become bland and overcooked.Chicken pieces get over tender and can break easily. Goat on the other hand becomes darker, stale and over tender. They both were like that. Same thing happened with most of the non-veg dishes. Non-veg appetizers were good but cold. Couldn't enjoy cold appetizers. Veg: Loved the veg items. Dal was excellent. Mushroom appetizer was excellent. Pulav was dry and cold but still great. Not bad. Overall all the veggies dishes were great. Sambar was very good. Selection of items: This might be a personal choice from person to person. But I dont think an idli belongs in a lunch buffet. May be mysore bonda, pakoda, chilli pakoda. But not idli. Loved the peanut chutney. Sweets: Gulab Jamun was great. Didnt eat anything else. Dont need to. Dont care. Gulab Jamun is all we need! Salad option is a nice touch. Onion, lettuce, carrots, cucumbers! I appreciate it. Overall not bad! If $50 incl tip on a cold buffet for two people does not seem like excess, this might not be a bad place. Not sure if I will go again for lunch buffet. Next day came here for Breakfast buffet. "If a place offers breakfast buffet, and does not include Mysore Bonda and peanut chutney, that place is dead to me."

Yelp
Im going to be brutally honest in my review of this restaurant on a scale of 1-10. Other reviews were much higher, but on deeper investigation it is seen that the food became sub-par over time. Our order: Small plate tandoor shrimp Spinach chat Green chili paneer Garlic naan Paneer tikka curry Shrimp chettinadu curry Goat pulav Cashew and paneer biryani Mango cheesecake Ambiance: 8.5/10: The interior was modeled after a traditional Indian house, and booths along a wall were turned into huts with roofs. Very nice atmosphere, unfortunately, the same cannot be said about some of the following. Service: 6.5/10: Although some of the food was slow getting out, the server was very nice and was considerate of our wishes, if the food just got out a bit faster and in the right order, this criteria would be higher. Food: 2/10 Spices were not a concept in the kitchen, and for an Indian restaurant, was a shame. A young kid that cannot handle spice complained that a clearly labeled 'spicy' chettinadu curry was lacking flavor. The tikka curry might as well have been a dessert with how sweet it was. The spinach chat was absolutely drowned in coriander, more so than spinach. Especially for someone with the genetic condition that makes cilantro taste bad, it was repulsive. I had to take frequent breaks from eating to cleanse my palate with some water. When they said small plate: they meant SMALL PLATE, the shrimp tandoor consisted of 5 shrimp pieces on a bed of a cilantro sauce drizzle. Naans weren't that bad, apart from being a bit bland and doughy. We also ordered a green chili paneer, what the menu neglected to mention was the fact that the green chili paneer curry was 10% green chili and 90% cilantro sauce. Speaking of curries, you could select a protein for each curry, or get it plain. If you selected a protein, you would get a sparse blanket of said protein on top of a lot of curry. It is as if they placed the proteins on top of the dish (they did). The goat pulave was made with no oil or spice as mentioned, and was way more rice than goat. The cashew and paneer biryani was a letdown, as a Telugu biryani is supposed to be bursting with flavor from many rich spices. It didn't even smell that good, and tasted just as bland. The midget cup of Raina that came with it was sour and I was left wondering how someone could mess up a simple cup of raita. I had already lost my appetite by this time, but our server had recommended a mango cheesecake, saying: 'kids like it.' I for one did not like it that much, and everyone else in my family stopped eating before me. In the end, more than half of the single slice of cheesecake was left, and I forgot to mention that the cheese in the cheesecake was actually more like a mousse and was lacking the mango flavor. Overall: 2/10 This restaurant is good for anybody that is new to Indian food and cannot handle spice. If you are looking for authentic Indian food, I suggest you try a place like Sri Krishna Vilas (the dosas and other tiffins are really good, and come out hot in about 5 minutes). The atmosphere really carried this restaurant out of a 1 star rating.

Yelp
My husband and I were craving Indian food, and we happened to be in the Johns Creek area, so we decided to try this restaurant. They had a party hall where some events were going on, and because of that, the parking was difficult to find. We had to park across the street and walk back to the restaurant. It was a chilly night, and the walk to and from the restaurant was very unpleasant. We were greeted at the door and seated quickly. Our server Ranjit told us that the kitchen was too busy and we should place our entire order together. We placed orders for drinks (Sankranti Bengal Tiger, Classic Mango Margarita), appetizers (Chicken Tikka Kabab, Tandoori Shrimp), entrées (Chicken Chettinadu, Garlic Naan, Mahi-Mahi in Moilee Sauce). After 20 minutes, we got our drinks and appetizers, and from the view, almost everyone was waiting for their food. It took another 40 mins for them to bring our entrées. Mahi-Mahi in moilee sauce was $22, and the portion was not even enough for one person. We had to add another entrée. But the taste was excellent. I love the moilee sauce; it just wasn't enough for us to enjoy it properly. Other than that we enjoyed the food. Surprisingly our 3rd entrée, The boneless chicken biryani, was the night's highlight!

Jayashree S.

Yelp
Got chicken biriyani today. Bad. Tasted like left over fried rice. Garlic nan was that great either. Biriyani was not fresh at all.

Carolyn D.

Yelp
Holy cow 80 bucks of food my bad I assumed wrongly rice was included ... but no that's extra so here I am making rice Their food is greasy and I would not order again It literally sucks

AJ J.

Yelp
Less than mediocre buffet. Very small spread, average taste. Much better to go to Chettinad close by for a couple of extra bucks.

Kshitija A.

Yelp
Awful buffet experience on 05/21. The eggplant pakodas were fridge cold. Corn Manchurian & veg pulao were gone bad. Chicken was chewy & cold. Naan & paneer tikka masala were at different level @bad testing. Pistachio mousse - no comments. The only eatable thing were idli & chutney. Bad experience & I'm very doubtful if we will visit again. Management didn't do anything when we informed them about all the above experience.

Yelp
Been craving Indian food for a while and I was so excited to try out Sankranti--since I have been in the hunt in finding a go to Indian restaurant--and sadly I don't think Sankranti is it. Service was a bit slow-, especially for the restaurant being empty when we came in besides another table. We started off with the Samosas which were delicious that we decided to order twice and we shared the Paneer tika which was a bit bland that I ate it with the chutney served with the samosa since it was lacking in flavor. After waiting a while we finally were able to place our order with the busboy since our server seemed to had forgotten us--when a large party came in and the most of the attention was on them. The entrees were a bit disappointing and boring--being used to how flavorful and rich Indian food is--Entrees do not come with rice which is the least they could do with how small the entrees were(for the price and also every other restaurant it's customary that entrees come with sides especially with Indian cuisine ) and how saucy they are-the cocktails were surprisingly delicious and refreshing. But over all slightly disappointed!

Eric T.

Yelp
Sankranti is located in Johns Creek, GA, it's one of many Indian cuisine restaurants in the area already. So competition can be tough, especially for more new establishments. First off, the building it's located in appears to be a former office complex. The restaurant itself is two stories the first floor has the more formal dining section which is open around dinner time. This place is huge by the way. They have a banquet hall for large gatherings and celebrations. I visited during the lunch hours so I did not get a chance to experience that area of the restaurant. If you head up one floor you will enter the buffet area dining section which is where you will be eating at during lunch. Yes there are stairs by the way and depending on your mood you may not enjoy it. The color white dominates the lunch area and it gives it a very clean and pristine appearance but also kind of a cold and sterile vibe the same time. this area is very spacious there is an opening where you can see one level down but there are enough tables to fit a decent amount of people I would say. In terms of the buffet they offer a mixture of regional Indian cuisine. According to their website it's a mixture of north, south, east, west, pretty much most of India. I'm not an expert so I'll just take them for their word there but yeah there is a lot of options for sure. Of course you have your veg and non-veg options. There are also desserts at center the buffet section. so when it comes to the taste of most of the food I would say it tastes pretty good, I know that's not the best description, but I'm not that experienced with Indian food so as long as it works well with my pallet I'm good. Nothing was too spicy and I do like spicy by the way, but I would say it's it would be safe for most people who aren't familiar with Indian cuisine. The service here is as good as it can be for a lunch buffet I mean pretty much you just show up eat your food and go back and get some more and by the time you come back your old plate should be gone. That's pretty much all you have to do and also to refill your water when your glass is empty but if they can do all that then no complaints from me. Overall for a lunch buffet it's good I still honestly prefer Madras (another restaurant), but that's just personal preference and I preferred their more warmer atmosphere. Still this place is worth checking out. Definitely try the dinner optio, but if you're playing it more safe, the buffet is always a good option too. That's about it for me, signing off now, and as always thanks for reading! Lunch Hours: Tuesday to Saturday Timings: 11:30 am to 3:00 pm Sunday Timings: 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Yelp
Really great dining experience. I came with a large group from work and we tried a bit of everything, and it was all amazing. Very attentive service and helpful with recommendations. Looking forward to coming back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Love the ambience of this place. It depicts an old South Indian house - gives a homely feel! The menu is unique compared to other Indian restaurants and the best thing is - they do not give rice with every entree.Personally that is such a plus for me coz the rice is always extra and I end up trashing. This place is perfect for family and group of friends . Service was quick too.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and loved it. Good dosa (served on your table on requested), idli, medu wada, pongal, potato bhaji with poori, sweet dish to top it off. Filter coffee and tea. Loved it!

Yelp
Wonderful food - came with a large group - so we were able to sample a large variety of dishes. Everything was delicious...especially enjoyed some of the more regional dishes. Service was friendly and efficient. Was a little nervous when the place was quite empty when we showed up - but it filled up later in the evening...I guess folks are late diners in this area. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
This is one of the worst Indian Restaurants I have been to. Was there week of Jan 31, 2023 and had the buffet. The food was cold, the menu choices very limited, nan was chewy, they served 1-2 south indian dishes but did not have any coconut chutney. Who does that?? Its like going to an American restaurant and ordering burger & fries, but no ketchup or mustard. When I brought up some of these issues to the restaurant manager, they said it was Management's choice and decision. This place is terrible and I will NEVER go back here, even if they offered me a free meal!!

Yelp
Pathetically managed buffet. Won't come if it's free. We are told that you are sweating because of food not ac when my 4 years old kid was completely red. Food was greeting refilled after 30 mins . Mutton curry without mutton and shrimp curry without shrimp . Biryani rice was literally raw rice . Choice of food was very less compared to other buffet.

Yelp
Rony was our waiter and he was awesome! The food was seasoned perfectly w just the right amount of hotness! We will definitely return!

Yelp
We enjoyed an amazing Sunday lunch buffet today. There was a wide variety of chicken dishes as well as goat and vegetarian dishes. All wonderfully seasoned. A variety of breads, soups, sauces, and dessert sweets. We thought it was very reasonably priced. The staff were hospitable and wearing masks as appropriate. A concern during the pandemic, they post a sign describing an upgraded air circulation, filtration, and purification system and hand sanitizer available. Nice decor, ample parking. The lunch buffet is upstairs and the fancy dining room ground floor is a la carte in the evening. We'll be back to try the evening dinner soon. There is also a banquet room upstairs that had a large party having fun, baby shower or something.

Yelp
We had dinner here last Friday and overall take was it is A-OK. It was fist time here after pandemic and I am glad it survived unlike many other restaurants. But it's not the same anymore. It has fallen from it's grace. It was introduced as an Ace Indian restaurant in the area and it was like that for a while. But my experience this time was bit short of that expectations and may be I am little critical but I felt it that way :) Food was decent, few new experiments like tandoor broccoli and paneer/cashew Biryani were well taken. We had egg curry and palak Paneer and they were on expected line. Food & drinks were bit pricy. With given inflation there is upwards move of all prices but since when Flat bread kulcha started costing $6 a piece ? And you need at least 2 to have decent meal. This is up for debate but the quality was good. Service was excellent. I expressed my concern about my Roti not being soft and bit burned on tandoor side, they took action immediately and replaced the order. To top it, in the meanwhile Sean brought a small bowl of rice to keep my meal going. At the end they asked us to review the place right then and there and it was unusual. Felt bit pressured to give your opinion while being there. They say positive review help the service mgmt get raise..:) The menus shared were on printed paper (crumpled) with few places misspelled of their own restaurant (it spelled Sakranti) This is a no-no and must be changed in my opinion. It doesn't cost much to print nice menus and coat/bind it. The décor is mostly intact from original and in decent shape. The floor in the booth we sat was smelly and sticky and needs a thorough cleaning. The lantern shaped booth lights are cute décor but they are hung way up high leaving the table in darkness to the extent that it was hard to read the menu. Please fix it. Bathrooms are clean and maintained well. The outside landscaping seems ignored and in dire need of attention. If you overlook small things I recommend this place for food and service !!

Yelp
I usually forget to review. This one I had to. January First dinner. The place was practically empty ( should have been the first indicator). THE BAD Waiter although polite had no mask. BIG DEAL. We were uncomfortable. In fact except for one , none of the staff had masks. "Fine" restaurants should have trained staff. Our server was a nice guy, however lacked basic hospitality skills. Not his fault. Management needs to make sure they are trained. Delays in the order. Main entrees ( couple of them) came way later than the rest. We had finished the non delayed items and we're full. Had to pack the rest. The restaurant decor was pleasing however the ambiance was dead and dull. I guess due to the lack of human activity. Menu on basic fast food style printed paper( a no no for a fine restaurant) Communication between the kitchen and servers seemed questionable ( regarding our delays) High prices Not a place to celebrate. THE GOOD The food was good, especially the breads. Our Sankranthi mock tail was way too sour, so they replaced it with another mock tail. Final thought- would not go there again.

Yelp
My daughter is 3 year old and a kid lunch for her cost me $20. I was offered a lunch special menu when we sit down. When I asked if the food would be too spicy for my kid, the waiter recommended butter chicken and naan bread which was not listed on the lunch menu. Later I found out that It was $16 for butter chicken and $4 for bread (dinner menu). Other than the surprisingly price, I like the flavor and decor.

Yelp
The buffet was great, the place had that high end look and feel, their chicken masala was flavorful, and will go back again, but I heard they dont serve all you can eat style anymore.

Yelp
Good food and quite place. Will definitely visit again. Try paneer Palak starter and papdam chutney is good

Yelp
I was taught my love of Indian food by a dear friend. Not many restaurants would measure up to her standards. This one, this one absolutely does. Fantastic food; delicate, well seasoned, generous portions. Outstanding service, we wanted for nothing and the conversation was grand. Won't go anywhere else now

Yelp
So despite some of the reviews for this place, my mom wanted to try this place. I am sure glad we did! They have done a great job of creating a wonderful atmosphere here. Really great decor and many event halls for any range of partying. The service might I add, was actually really good. They were attentive and helpful in providing suggestions of crowd favorites. With that being said, the food was great! You can tell everything was made fresh and tasty! I would say it was finger licking good! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone in town. Come check it out and see for yourself! Only downside is that the prices are on the higher side but the portions, for the most part, make up for that. TLDR; good atmosphere and good food, highly recommend.

Yelp
Buffet not at all worth it. They charged 20$ for weekend buffet and all the items are soggy and not at all tasty. I would not recommend it.

Saiteja G.

Yelp
This place looks like a mansion. I have been here only once hugely built and it definitely looks more amazing than any other Indian restaurant I have been to in the USA. Their buffet includes huge varieties and tastes good. Most of all the dishes are decent and the curries were amazing. It is clean neat and happy to dine in place as well. They have a great desserts addition as well. I will be here again for a buffet. They also have valet parking available which helps you not worry about looking for parking spaces. The only reason I could award a 5/5 is some dishes can still do better.

Tej S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food here. Only the options are not too many, but what's available is very delicious. I would give it 4.5 stars, the alcohol is very cheap too. Great spot. (Amazing ambiance)

Srikany A.

Yelp
Fresh tasting food!! Good fine dining experience. Lunch veg any non veg Thalis are really good! Veg cutlets are a highlight!!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Great place if you want wonderful ambience and food. We had their banana wrapped fish and the 'masala' was exceptional! All other curries were very authentic. They have to bring some 'cooling' elements like Raita, lassi, ice cream etc into the menu to balance the spicy curries and also throw in the rice for free. Their peanut rice is very flavorful. Their bar is very good. Currently trying to do their best during covid times with skeletal help ( long wait for bigger groups) but if the service picks up, it will be one of the few stylish restaurants this side of town.

Yelp
The most expensive lunch buffet. They tout this place as fine dining experience and when we visited this place I was trying to find this "experience". The Alpharetta region has already well established Indian restaurant and this being in the mix doesn't help. For a vegetarian this is a very expensive buffet that too after the initial price deduction in the buffet prices. Beware of the "unlimited" drinks during the buffet. Please read the fine print before getting the table. There is no such thing as unlimited as they claim. Oh and they have valet parking. Please do "enjoy" the added perk in your lunch buffet price. The food was ok and the options were not that extra ordinary. I don't think so I will be visiting this place again or recommending it again.

Yelp
I've been dining and ordering from this place for about a year now and have not had much issues with them other than the fact that it takes forever for food to come out or get delivered. But I thought the taste justified the wait time. I'm unsure if their chef changed or recipe changed but when I ordered delivery of the same dish I always have, chicken Tika masala it seemed thicker in the sauce consistency and was very heavy in salty taste. I was starving so my bf and I gobbled it down regardless. We both had the most horrible night afterwards. Although I'm not allergic to msg, im somewhat sensitive to it as I have gotten older and have been on a healthy diet and regular exercise. Heavy msg usually triggers migraine and unusual frequency to the throne with number 1. After consuming delivery order last night, I came down with really bad migraine and a trip to the throne with #1 just about every 10 minutes throughout the night that I did not sleep at all. My bf got a really bad stomach ache and had to consume alcohol in order to sleep. I believe the amount of msg was excessive this time around from the dishes and because of this, I can no longer enjoy this place anymore because it definitely confirms that heavy msg is being used in their dishes now. I don't understand why restaurants don't bother to care about the health of its customers. Msg definitely makes any Asian ethnic dish tastier and given the fact that they have so much competition in the restaurant biz to make their dishes taste better, I can forgive minor use of it to "enhance" the flavor. But when excessive amount is used ignoring the fact that daily consumption of msg or excessive amount of consumption actually can cause cancer, severe dehydration, high blood pressure, kidney failure and bladder issues just to name a few, I can no longer support a restaurant and continue to be a patron. For those who are allergic or sensitive to msg, I would highly recommend to stay away from this place because it will cause likely scenario of what happened to my family last night. I haven't yelped in a while but I think this is definitely worth mentioning to warn people about their excessive use of msg. Real chefs who actually have the culinary skills and love for its patrons would not use msg at all in my opinion.

Yelp
This place is a JOKE. I am surprised to see that they have 3 stars. Recently on a weekend, I was visiting the place but OH MY GOD what a disaster. Not sure where to start also. Weekend Menu Guys Simple and LOL only Thali Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian. As the group was large, it was informed early about the choice of What Thali... and what time we will arrive and how many guests. But the experience was an eye-opener. THE WORST FOOD and THE WORST SERVICE. Even SO LAZY STAFF. We said what we need and we wait and wait and wait and decide to order some DRINKS and then WAIT AND WAIT and WAIT and then good news drink came after 45 mins of waiting, but NO FOOD and we are waiting and waiting and Waiting 1:30 mins Good news one thali at a time and each thali took 5 to 10 - 15 mins in btw and we keep waiting and then one member did not get the Thali and the knowledgeable staff instead of accepting that they did a mistake start arguing that we the customers are wrong (yes I forgot to say Indian South Indian Restaurant arrogant people) and then after a lot of argument the last thali come but very very very cold food. they also have the obesity to charge a service fee as the party was large. I will never go back for sure This place is only for the people of India who have no taste of FOOD and love to be insulted and humiliated. I did see many Non-Indians in the restaurant and I am will be surprised to see them coming back. By the way, I guarantee you the Owner will not get back to my remark, I do not think he has ever gotten back to any of the reviewers. GOD bless the restaurant. It is a joke and not a real place to eat.

Yelp
Despite the atmosphere and the decor, the service here is absolutely horrible. We recently had a private party here with nearly 30 guests, however the service was not up-to par and the food was tasteless. We had a pre-ordered menu, did a trial taste, but still the food was completely watered down and just seemed like they tried to fill up the vessels with water instead of actual food. For instance, the kadhai paneer and kofta had no taste just color to fool us. Secondly, based on the original agreement made prior to the party regarding the drinks - they decided to charge us extra for a bartender when we didn't even have one. Lastly when asked for to go containers to pack up the food, the employee working denied us and said you guys are asking for too many containers. He didn't even give us containers to pack up our food. SHAME ON U FOR THIS POOR SERVICE. will never return here again nor recommend it to anyone else.

Yelp
Do I actually need to leave a star?!? Open for several months and only getting worse. The owners should just paint it white and call it the White Elephant. Supposedly fine dining with order by number, staff who cannot pronounce nor describe the food, slow slow slow food, monotonous old Indian music. They claim to be intercontinental- I think they mean indiacontinental. Overpriced mostly bland attempts at Indian food, non- Indian buffet items with names of other dishes- no Alfredo is not red. The only thing missing is bacteria. Oops my mistake. Only meal I had that day and wound up strapped to a toilet begging for relief of cramps and a stomach pump. Obviously newbies to food and beverage- might I suggest converting to a motel6. Several better and more affordable options in the area.

Yelp
Its the worst Buffet I have ever had. Who charges $20 for a buffer with empty containers?? Tried it when it was newly opened and even met the owner. We reached at 1.50pm and it was to be closed after 3pm. Yet half of the food was empty and especially for a vegetarian if half of the containers are empty what will we eat. And the other half was cold. The best part comes now, when I told the owner that the roti was cold, she touched the roti right in front of me in the same container it was kept for all. Wont that contaminate the food? Just having fancy desserts (but all actually tasted the same) doesnt mean you charge $20. We had to call them out multiple times and the service was slow. The chickoo sheera (never heard of it) was made just of sugar. Very disappointed

Yelp
Came here for the lunch buffet with my dad on a Friday afternoon. Was first impressed with the interior - it seems like the perfect place to host an event or a party with its excellent decorations and spacious interiors. There was even a full bar upstairs, which made me think that maybe that's the intended purpose of this space. We were a bit confused about having to go upstairs for the lunch buffet, but eventually figured it out. Once we made it up, e found a decent sized buffet with a wide variety of options in front of us, including our mutual favorite dish of goat curry. In term of the actual food itself, everything tasted pretty good. There were a wide range or pretty standard offerings, and from what I could tell the food was all of good quality. I especially liked all the little cakes that they had on the dessert table. Perhaps the only drawback of the buffet was that I didn't see anybody refilling or replacing any of the food much during the time we ate, which in hindsight makes me question how long certain dished were sitting out. I think that the food warmers could also be turned up a notch, as a couple dishes were closer to room temperature than I would have preferred. Overall I thought it was a decent experience, but I would much prefer my other neighborhood standard Indian buffet as this place was just a little more expensive without any real standout features.

Yelp
This review is about their all-you-can-eat Buffet on the second floor. This place is dirty, it stinks and the hygiene management is at the worse. Its either their HVAC system which is not working well, or they don't have proper cleaning and hygiene taken care of or something, it really felt suffocating with odors of sweat, baby piss and sea food all together. Definitely not going there again ever.
