"An attractive terraced building with a traditional, rather quaint interior. There's a seasonal à la carte and a daily blackboard menu: prices can vary so check before ordering. The lobster and shrimp – fresh from local fjords – are a hit." - Michelin Inspector

A true Danish lunch gem! If you're looking for an authentic smørrebrød experience in Copenhagen, Restaurant Sankt Annæ is hard to beat. The setting is elegant but cozy—white tablecloths, traditional decor, and a calm, classic atmosphere that feels like stepping into old Copenhagen. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the shrimp with mayo and lemon, the herring trio, and the chanterelles in cream—each one beautifully presented and full of flavor. Portions are generous, so you might want to share if you're ordering more than one dish per person. Service was friendly, attentive, and professional. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience make it worth it. It does get busy at lunchtime, so booking ahead is a good idea. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to try top-tier Danish smørrebrød in a refined yet welcoming setting.

Great smorebrod salmon sandwiches and schnapps. We ended the meal with strawberries and cream! Perfect!!

Great spot near Nyhavn with a more authentic vibe, not overly touristy. The food is excellent, and the Danish hospitality is warm and welcoming. It's a bit pricey, but you'd likely spend the same at a touristy spot anyway. Overall, I highly recommend it for the good food and proper service.

This is a genuine cozy Danish smørrebrød restaurant, the best in Copenhagen I think. Good size food portions (and drinks). I made a mistake though in our pre-order (as we were 10 people) and managed to order three large open sandwiches… Felt like three main courses:)

A fabulous finer dining lunch experience. Bustling and busy, crowded and a little cramped. The food however was exceptional. The service excellent. I had the pickled herring and the Dutch potato open sandwiches. You must have the classic schnapps with the herring.

Absolut lunch "must" in Copenhagen. Food, service and atmosphere that are very rare to get this days.

Food was terrible for a 1 Michelin starred restaurant. I have no idea how they managed to get a star. Service was poor, the waiters ignored us when we sat down. We waited a very long time for someone to come and take our order. Ordered the fish cakes - it was mostly egg (minimal fish in sight), also had the liver pate (nothing special). The food was small portions, none of which were special in any way. Presentation was also standard. Save your money and eat elsewhere. There are some other nice restaurants along the same street.

Waiters were amazing, super professional. Food and beer was absolutely fantastic. But the place in general was very crowdy, noisy and hard to move around to. I also didn't understand, why prices are not included in the menu.
