"As the name suggests (Without a tie), this eatery is casual in vibe. The snug interior, done up in pastel shades, is bathed in natural light. Despite a lineup of familiar flavours, Sans cravate knows how to surprise the diner. The concise à la carte menu, together with a weekday menu and a several course menu at the weekend, bear witness to the attention lavished on exceptional ingredients by chef Henk Van Oudenhouve. He might mingle textures, such as langoustine and artichoke, with a punchy bisque made out of shellfish heads, and cooks the mullet on a spit in a delicious Mediterranean dish featuring nduja, aromatic herbs and choron sauce. Like a champion downhill skier, Van Oudenhove expertly weaves between classical flavours and international accents. Don’t miss the game season, when you may be able to taste tender juicy partridge. You may even decide to treat yourself and stay overnight in one of the luxurious rooms of the B&B La Suite opposite." - Michelin Inspector

We came for lunch on Boxing Day and the whole experience was great. Service was good and they were particularly accommodating to our 3 year old son. Food was really lovely. Some people have reviewed poor remarks about extra charges, it does say on the menu the price of things so I can only assume stupid people expect something for nothing! We would visit again!

The service began well with the host and the seating as previously requested was a great one as well. It all went downhill when the female server picked up the order, it was a game of tug of war to push your bill up, for one person I paid 141€. And I don't seem to have anything to remember other than the snobby lady who only attended tables in Dutch. I will say the food presentation was great and the dessert was also good. But no need to make your way over, go somewhere else, better service. I found a pellet used in hunting in the hare, that's unacceptable. Also the chef never even came across the room to say hello or something. If a two star Michelin restaurant chef can do it, you can too, service from the heart not from the size of our pockets. Pity I must say. Adding to the fact that all 5 star reviews are of people who only have one review, how believable is that?

Google
It is NOT a michelin star restaurant at all. The food was excellent but the service was horrible, even for a low cost restaurant. Many many basic mistakes were made that made us feel bad about the whole experience. Service is cold and not welcoming, making us feel bad not taking the extras. The water (6euros 500ml) wasn't even served to us. Waiter came back 3 times (!!!) to ask us to repeat what we ordered. Price were never mentionned. Service was pushy toward extras and wine tour. My glass of wine was never presented or explained to me, i have no idea what i drank. Bread crumbs on the table was never cleaned which felt weird. It was our first starred restaurant and lowered the michelin standard to us

Was a very relaxed atmosphere at lunch and was not crowded at all. Excellent service and a delicious meal. Going there at lunchtime was the good choice. Recommended if you visit Brugge.

Google
Excellent experience at Sans Cravatte, for our last evening in Bruges! Special mention for the main course, incredible Râble de Lièvre! Thanks to the whole team for a memorable time!

Yelp
I was so excited to try this Michelin star restaurant but it was pretty disappointing. The food was good, but I do not feel it was terribly creative. For instance, the bread was fresh, but just so basic. I can make better bread. The salad was pretty- but tasted boring. Same with the main courses, satisfying and perfectly cooked, but nothing that I could get excited about or that was innovative. The main problem is the service- it was actually really bad. The waiter belittled me, tried to make me feel like an idiot in front of my entire party for not having requested a food preference when I booked it. He scolded me like a child - "well normally a person would request a special dish well in advance." Well I did not. Maybe because your menu made it seem like i would have choices - its not like im a vegan, I just dont eat duck. Thankfully, the chef accomodated me, but waiter never checked on us how the food was. He got a bad attitude when we asked for anything, and eventually he just abandoned the table and another woman had to take over. We had to ask for the bill multiple times, it took over a half hour just to pay the bill. I actually had to stand up and bring it to them they were so intent on ignoring us. Save your money for a better Michelin experience- there are many to choose from in Belgium!

Yelp
We were in Brugge to visit the city and we chose this modern restaurant. It was a wonderful journey. As we are epicurean and like greedy pleasure we opted for food and wines pairing. It was delicious with a very beaufitul presentation of the dishes of course. Staff was delightful and pleasant. Definitively, Belgian restaurants are very good !
