We last came here in 2016 on holiday and loved it. It has got even better. Come hungry and get the full tasting menu. You will not be disappointed. The portions are sensible and we even made room for dessert. Everything was unbelievably delicious and each plate licked clean (literally in some cases). The cocktails were complex and well designed the Kimchi Mezcalina is perfect if you like a chilli based cocktail - spicy, smokey and smooth. The Cherry and Ginger sour another brilliant one with fiery ginger as the backbone. For 1300 krona / £40 / $55 this meal is a bargain. Do yourselves a favour and COME HERE.

I liked this place in general. Everything we tried was good. I especially liked the chicken dish we tried so ordered 2 of them. The crab slider was also quite good. I also tried 2 of their cocktails, jalepeno margarita was amazing but kimchi mezcalita was meh. The atmosphere is quite nice but service could be better.

Excellent restaurant a bit away from the busy touristic center. Only 2 menus to choose but the food is fantastic. Flexible for pescitarians too. Super creative, with some Asian / Latino influences. The service is really friendly too. A true gem !

Sansho in Prague is a culinary gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience. The warm and inviting atmosphere is complemented by a menu filled with Asian-inspired dishes made from fresh, locally sourced and high-quality ingredients. Each dish showcases bold flavors and creativity, reflecting the chef's dedication to seasonal and local product. The knowledgeable staff provides excellent service and thoughtful recommendations. Don't overlook the curated drink menu, which pairs beautifully with the food, and save room for dessert—it’s a perfect sweet ending. Sansho combines exquisite flavors, a welcoming ambience, and attentive service, making it a must-visit in Prague. Highly recommended! Bravi!

Google
A restaurant with a surprise menu. Excellent service with friendly and attentive staff who were accommodating to dietary requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed the duck curry, mussels with a coconut milk curry sauce and the oyster nest. Produce was fresh and portion sizes were large. The restaurant had an extensive wine and drinks list and the atmosphere was great. Easily would be a 5/5 on food but the dessert, particularly the ice cream was a bit of a let down. All in all, highly recommend and would return

Yelp
One of the best meals I've ever had. Unpretentious, excellent, interesting food. Not even expensive for what it is.

Yelp
Was looking to have a really good meal while on a business trip. I was able to snag a last minute reservation here (previous trip they were fully booked). The restaurant is very simple and modest, but the food is what real really shines here. I did the 6 course menu and wasn't disappointed! The courses are a bit of fusion, but you can def. get the asian influence in a lot of the dishes. One of the highlights was the clam dish, I'm not usually a fan, but here it hit the spot. The staff and servers were very welcoming. The prices are affordable considering the quality and amount of food you get. Will def. make a point to visit this place any time I'm back in Prague.

Yelp
An EXCELLENT find. This little gem is super understated for what it is. Asian fusion at its best. An incredibly talented Japanese and Mexican chef transform this chill little restaurant to a foodies dream. Trust me, just sit down and eat. No ordering needed. They can substitute vegetarian options for meat courses. This place came highly recommended by local friends.

Yelp
This was the highlight of my trip to Prague. It came highly recommended by our AirBnb host, (make a reservation, as they barely take walk ins!) and we got a spot for a Saturday evening. Sansho is near the Jewish Quarter in old town, and is easily accessible by foot/tram. The restaurant itself is very simple and basic, which means the food definitely steals the show. It is Michelin rated, and they proudly display that on their window. We were seated by very friendly staff which gave us a rundown of how the menu works. For 1000 CZK per person, they provide 5 starters and 1 main course that is chosen by the chef. It's pricier than most places in Prague, but 100% worth it. We started with the salmon sashimi, mussels with homemade toast, salmon egg with pork and prawn dumplings, crispy melt in your mouth pork belly, SOFT SHELL CRAB sliders, and the main dish which was a fusion of pork knuckle and clams with rice, veggies and a trout salad. The menu here is thoughtful, bright, and absolutely incredible. Everything was so delicious and beautiful, and the ordering was perfection. The staff was so sweet and fun, and more than happy to explain the dishes and give more information. I wasn't expected to be stuffed, but I found myself filled to the brim after everything was served. If I ever come back to Prague, I'll 100% come back. They deserve all the success in the world with this menu. Make a res and enjoy!

Yelp
When it come to the ambiance and the service, there aren't any special. The waiters don't even talk Czech and the setting is not sth I would be super enthusiastic about but when it comes to food, this is truly amazing. I love their curry and almost any of their starters. Wines are well selected and coffee is ok. Desserts are a must!
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Everyone raves about the pork belly... well, not quite everyone. It's solid but isn't worth the hype. It's actually a bit too generic, really, to even be a signature dish. To be fair, Sansho isn't about signature dishes, they're about a welcoming, delicious experience all around. And there, they deliver. Soft shell crab bun is delicately done, surprisingly mild in flavors, yet excellent. The duck and lobster dumpling noodle soup has an intense broth and a rather small portion of noodles, yet it is delicious by any measure, and the intensity works well. Staff are friendly enough, the cucumber infused water is a great touch on a warm summer day, and the outdoor seats on the little town square are lovely. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
Sansho is a gem of a place for people who want a standout meal without all the pretension. Set in a nondescript building and decorated in a very spartan way, Sansho delivers on what the focus should be on - the food. The 6 course tasting meal was fantastic. Chef's starter was a perfectly grilled pork neck. And then it kept getting better from there - Bloody Mary oyster shooter, salmon sashimi with citrus, soy and sesame (a standout) pork belly, lamb wrapped in what can only be described as two leaves that resembled the taste of black pepper and mint (unreal!), razorneck clams in a yuzu broth with grilled bread, soft shell crab sliders with horseradish on bao, and grilled pork with papaya salad and coconut rice (perfection!). Add to it wonderful cocktails and you have an amazing experience. Did I also say that our server was incredible and the price was incredibly reasonable at $70/person? Because he was and it was! Would come back again and again.

Yelp
What a find! This place was not too far from my hotel and so glad I came here. Fortunately, I came early and did not have a reservation, yet was able to get seated immediately. For a person from NYC, this place was a gem and the price was extremely reasonable. If I had this meal in NYC, it would have cost at least 3-4 times the amount I paid in Prague. Some of my highlights: Pork Belly with Watermelon, Soft Shell Crab Slider, Clams with Yuzu Sauce and the Veggies.
google avatar

Allen S.

Yelp
Considering this establishment is a part of the bib gourmands on the Michelin guide, the prices are extremely affordable. With that said, each and every dish was played perfectly, the balance of flavors were subtle yet distinct, hitting every part of my tongue perfectly. You can see and taste the inspirations of his nobu past, but blends it perfectly with a new style. Clean, fresh, modern. If you are in prague, make sure to stop by for a taste or a feast.

Yelp
Such a great spot. Amazing food, great service, and a good price. We liked this place so much we visited twice during our vacation in Prague. Highly recommend the salmon sashimi, veggie curry, and beef curry.

Yelp
Super friendly staff that explain the concept of the place to you. Good dishes. Great view.

Yelp
By American standard, this is an inexpensive meal, by San Francisco foodie standard, this is an exceptional well executed Asian meal. Sit outside and you get the view of a water fountain and a nice church. British owner makes this place welcoming to English speaking tourists. My last day here before heading over to Stockholm's Marcus Samulesson's American Table. This is fabulous food for me to remember Prague as an international city with old Eastern European charm and modern Western world's cuisine de jour.

Carlos J. C.

Yelp
A Prague must. We visit almost every year and this is definitely a place we stop by on every trip. It is a delight. The six-course meal is something you must try on your next visit. My favorite though was the salmon sashimi and the pork belly. Well done, chef!
google avatar

Douglas A.

Yelp
Yup this is an easy one. Five stars for the entire meal. Prix fixe menu with some leeway if you don't like certain ingredients. 5 starters and one main. Our food was meticulously prepared and so flavorful. In New Town Prague. Quite centrally located. Small spot not for junior unless he or she is adventurous. We had Salmon sashimi, beef carpaccio, octopus in peanut sauce, pork belly with watermelon, soft shell crabs with Wasabi mayo, and a trout salad along with a shredded beef main. The sauces blend perfectly and can surprise with their subtle or bold flavors. This place is a must in Prague!

Yelp
Sansho was our first dinner in Prague - it was the only time that worked with our schedule and we weren't so focused on being tourists that we had to eat Czech food the first night. We put our trust in the chef and did not put any restrictions on the food we were served and were wowed by the clams in a savory broth (which I never would have ordered on my own) and the octopus in peanut sauce (which my dining companion would never have ordered on his own), as well as the other dishes. This was the most reasonably priced tasting menu we've ever had. Don't miss this gem!
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Let's start with the excellent customer service! Prague is not known for it's good customer interactions in general, but all of the servers and staff here were excellent. A very welcome change. We got a last minute reservation and thoroughly enjoyed our Friday evening six course menu. Small bites all around for sharing, and everything was quite flavorful and well-presented. Having lived in Asia for 20+ years, the flavors were definitely on the S.E. Asian side of things, pretty authentic, but also orginal. Cocktails were excellent, and they had a decent wine selection as well. We are foodies, and definitely focused on Asian food in general, and we will be back.

Yelp
We dined here for lunch during a nice sunny day in Prague and went ahead with the tasting menu. Starting with the good: the service and presentation are both at a 5-star level. The wait staff was very attentive and begin every meal by asking for dining preferences and food allergies - they then get the chefs to substitute in alternatives for each diner whenever needed. Unfortunately, though, the food failed to live up to our expectations. Our party didn't request any substitutes, but the flavors of each dish generally seemed out of whack for a high-quality restaurant. The salmon sashimi and soft shell crab sliders with wasabi cream were probably my favorites, but the pork belly dish was much too salty and the beef and roti dish was just average. None of the food really stood out as 5-star worthy. It's time to hop off the Sansho hype train.

Yelp
What a wonderful little restaurant! Ordered the banh mi, pork belly mini sandwiches, and the organic beef curry. Service was great! Food, exceptional! The dish that stood out the most was the pork belly... My gosh.. Absolutely delicious. Tip: go on a nice sunny day and sit outside. You'll have a view of a few nice buildings.

Yelp
Brian W. in a earlier review captured the essence of this restaurant perfectly. It was a two hour dinner experience, and it was definitely interesting. I've provided some additional photos for reference. My favorite thing was the mussels. The other items were presented with fairly uncommon tastes, but things were generally more sweeter than I personally preferred. Oysters on a half shell came from Normandy - they ain't got anything on US Oysters (I'm thing Long Island Oysters, ie. WellPoint, Bluepoint, etc). Cost was broken out by item even though it was a "surprise set menu" and there was no a la carte option at the time we came. Receipt was itemized to the bowl of rice. We didn't have a reservation, and we were able to get seated on a Friday evening. It looks like half the folks here had reservations and half didn't. I sat inside, and around 8:30 or so, I overheard that requests to sit outside were politely being denied. Outside seating shuts down at about 9 pm due to the law. It seemed like there was only one point in the evening at which a 30 minute wait had built up. We were so stuffed by the end of the night we couldn't even finish the main, no matter how much we tried. Stairs down the men's room dang near killed me, but then again, so did the super fast down escalators in some of the train stations, so it might be a local convention I'm unaccustomed with. Service was pretty decent for us. It seems to be a theme for us in Prague where service is a bit cold when waiting to get seated, but once settled in, the servers become as friendly as in the US.

Yelp
Dinner with friends we met up with, restaurant was on a list of places they were scheduled to visit during a hidden gem food tour. I'm glad we got ahead of the tour! Outstanding meal, best in Prague so far.
google avatar

Yelp
You get there and... You don't choose any course, no menu, nothing! You can let the waiter know that you are vegetarian or not a "4 legs meat" eater and they will accommodate something different (and delicious) for you. Food is great, is organic and tasteful. Service is great and waiters are nice Enjoy this excellent experience!!
google avatar

Tina D.

Yelp
Booked here on a whim with my husband. Amazing meal, perfect amount of food, excellent staff and service and all round perfect experience. Eduardo the bartender has extensive knowledge of the local area and was extremely attentive and helpful. Definitely make a reservation, at least one day in advance! 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
I dropped by for lunch today and was actually (for the most part) pleasantly surprised. I came for the duck soup, which they didn't have, and I was sad, BUT decided to stay anyways. I ordered the pork belly sliders and the dry, sweet pork with coconut rice and papaya. Needless to say, I was stuffed when I left but I actually finished all my food! Pork belly sliders - A+. As soon as I bit into one I immediately understood the fuss (and this is coming from someone who usually doesn't like Asian fusion). The bun was perfectly steamed and fluffy, the garnishes nice and fresh and flavorful, and... the pork! It was fried to crispy perfection and seasoned nicely, BUT the kicker was that they spread the sauce on the bun so it wouldn't make the pork soggy. With every bite, I got a nice crunch. Good job, Sansho. You know what you're doing with these bad boys. The dry, sweet pork was not as good as the sliders, but still decent. The seasoning of the rice and the pork was really good (even though I tasted a bit of burnt garlic in the pork, sad). But what I couldn't get over was the papaya salad. It was underseasoned and didn't do ANYTHING in terms of flavor for me. I ate a few bites, wanting to like it, but then gave up. Overall, if you're an Asian fusion fan, stop by here. If you're not, stop by anyways because them pork belly sliders are what dreams are made of.

George R.

Yelp
The food was good not great but the service was very poor. The menu was never explained well. Locals were eating dishes never offered to us. It was listed as price fixed but every dish was priced a la carte on the final bill. I think this is a tourist trap. I Do not recommend unless you are Chezch or speak it.
google avatar

Tracey L.

Yelp
Really good food, but like our experience with their sister restaurant, by 1:30pm they were out of one of their signature dishes which we would have liked to have tried. But we really enjoyed the appetizers and main dishes we did order. We got 7 items for the table. Make a reservation. We would definitely go back.
google avatar

Tricie C.

Yelp
Quite a tasty menu. They were accommodating with my boyfriends gluten allergy though having roti accompany one of the dishes was curious. My favorite dish was the soft shell bao slider. I liked that even though every table was on a set menu, not every dish was the same. Made it more exciting. Service was very good. Friendly but professional. Make reservations especially for dinner as people were turned away who just walked in.

Yelp
Came here for lunch after reading great reviews and I am so pleased with my decision. I made it to the restaurant a few minutes before the kitchen closed in the afternoon and thankfully, they agreed to serve me! The waiter recommended the softshell crab sliders commenting that this was their most popular appetizer and I also ordered a daily special of sweet pork with papaya salad and coconut rice. Both were phenomenal! After being without good asian food for the past few weeks I was so happy to be able to enjoy something not only extremely tasty, but also full of authentic southeast asian flavors. For dessert I got half an order of sticky toffee pudding and half an order of the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich with peanut butter ice cream - a nice option the waiter offered me so I could try a few different things. Both were rather sweet, but nevertheless very enjoyable. Wait staff let me sit and enjoy my tea and dessert for as long as I pleased which was greatly appreciated. All in all - flavorful superb southeast asian cuisine, welcoming and attentive staff, far from the tourists, unpretentious atmosphere - honestly, the perfect restaurant experience. I would Highly recommend finding time to check it out!!

Yelp
Dining Date March 25, 2015 for dinner. I loved the concept of 5 small appetizers and a main course. If you have never been here before, there is no menu to choose from; you get what's on the menu for the night. A bit different, but very fun. After eating each dish, we kept asking what was next! I found all the dishes very tasty and delicious. Make sure you're ready for seafood, because you'll be served salmon, clams, trout and soft shell crabs. Order a nice bottle of wine when you get there and enjoy the parade of flavors for the next 2 hours. Great service included!
google avatar

Victoria J.

Yelp
The expectations I had for Sansho outdid the reality. The food here was decent, but compared to other Asian fusion restaurants in other cities, this is average. The FOOD: Salmon sashimi: a bit of a rough cut with the sauce not being too well emulsified. I kept having to stir my fish around in the sauce to integrate everything. Soft shell bao: one of the fluffiest steamed buns I've had, this was probably my favorite thing we ate here. The crab was nicely crisp and the creamy sauce wasn't overdone. Pork and watermelon salad: TOO MUCH HOISIN! The sauce seemed like it was just hoisin and nothing else. It wasn't reinvented. It was way too sweet. I did enjoy how crispy the pork was, but the flavors were overpowered by all of the sauce. Pork and papaya with coconut rice: the papaya was very odd to me. I kept wanting it to be papaya salad, but it wasn't. It wasn't fresh, tart, tangy, sour, spicy--the combination that makes traditional papaya salad addictively delicious. I know it wasn't supposed to be a direct interpretation of papaya salad, but it wasn't a delicious enough dish on its own to make me forget about traditional papaya salad. Also, the rice was very al dente for my taste. Overall, the food quality was good, but the flavors were not always well balanced and well combined. The service was friendly in a Czech way and you can tell they try hard, but I wouldn't recommend a visit unless you're so curious you can't stay away.
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
I can't even describe how wonderful my time at Sansho was. As someone traveling alone you often feel a little odd at meals. At Sansho I felt like one of the family. And the folks working there felt like they were one big family just all hanging out together ! And that bonhomie translated to excellent food, impecable service, and an amazing experience. The chef/owner was walking around and talking to everyone, and seemed to know everyone in the neighborhood as well. The other people working there provided fantastic service but were also really easy to talk to and made me feel really welcome. The food was amazing. Fresh and vibrant with lots of flavors and a real nice balance. I highly recommend this.

Yelp
Went here with my wife on trip to Prague. Had the soft shell crab sliders (really good), bahn mi sliders ( just ok ) and the salmon sashimi ( really good ) then had the pork and prawn with rice entree ( good ) Pretty decor and great staff

Yelp
BEST FOOD IN TOWN! Sansho is on a quiet street in the Old Town district. The outside of this restaurant looks like whatever (might have a hard time finding this place at first) and the inside looks just OK, nothing exceptional. BUT now I know where the owner decided to spend most of his money-chefs. The food was incredibly delicious! I cannot praise more. We were a party of 6 and had their regular 6 course meal (yes, 6!) every course was amazingly delicious especially the pork belly dish. Any thing you order will be good so don't be afraid. Get ready to open your wallet and eyes while you're there. You might run into some well known celebs like we did ;)
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
This is a no nonsense foody place. Great mission style Asian fusion food with a fixed 6 course meal that makes it so you don't have to or want to think. You just eat and enjoy.
google avatar

Neil B.

Yelp
Spectacular! If Sansho was in San Francisco, reservations would be booked 2 months out. 6 course tasting menu is tuned to your preferences (mine no pork or red meat). I thought the first course of salmon sashimi would be the highlight. It was that good. But it kept on getting better. Great service. Great local beer - an American style IPA with local hops. Worth the trip to Prague just to eat here.
google avatar

Carson M.

Yelp
Very good. very nice. I nice send off from a week in Prague. Service was excellent. The appetizer courses were divine. Main course was good but did not compare to the 5 appetizers that led up to it. Still it is hard to beat pork bellies cooked to perfection and dumplings that made my mind tingle. Moderately Expensive ($40+-) but live a little! Yum.

Max G.

Yelp
Is a must experience in Prague - Kind staff - relaxed atmosphere and mouth watering food
google avatar

Yelp
Returning to Prague after a four-year absence, the first restaurant we booked was an old favorite -- Sansho. And I'm so pleased to report it may have gotten even better. Our party of five dined outside in the shadow of the beautiful Church of St. Peter. Every course of the degustation menu was an absolute delight -- wafer-thin salmon sashimi with the most delicate, perfectly balanced ginger sauce, a divine octopus satay, the most ethereal shrimp dumplings, accompanied by deliciously briny salmon roe, glistening mahogany pork belly, soft-shell crab sliders on melt-in-your mouth steamed buns. Oh my. The service is splendid, with very good English spoken. This place is just perfection!
google avatar

Il P.

Yelp
I quite like the concept of no menu, and the dishes were creative. Creative in a way that pairs of flavors that traditionally go together are seemingly randomly chained through each dish. However, I didn't like the final construction. It often had contradicting tastes that created cacophonous clashes. For the price range in Prague, I think it's overpriced for the experimental flavors I experienced. See below for comments on individual dishes of the day. The first dish was salmon sashimi with peppers, sesame, chive, and ginger. Average overall flavor. The salmon was not as fresh as it could have been. The second dish was fried soft shell crab bun with wasabi based sauce. I didn't like the wasabi flavored creamy sauce with the bun. The third dish was star fruit salad with jasmine tea infused smoked trout. Salad was fresh and nice, and fish was nicely flavored, but the combination didn't work for me. Somehow the fishy chewy jerky fish cancelled the freshness of the salad. I didn't like it, but my wife loved this dish. The fourth dish was crispy and pork belly, hoisin sauce, watermelon, mint, and cilantro. Watermelon with mint together was very nice, but too much hoisin sauce overpowered the flavor. The fifth dish was pork dumplings with salmon roe, and creamy sauce. This was the most harmonious dish of the day. Salmon roe was not super fresh though. The main dish was fish curry, mutton curry, and some greens. Fish curry was quite good. Mutton curry was totally non-Indian flavored. It looked like normal curry, but then it tasted very much like pulled mutton drenched in BBQ sauce: did not taste good.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend, and expectations exceeded. The starter began softly, without too much zing, but fresh distinct flavours. Each round got better. Been twice, loved it both times. The second time we left just enough room for pudding . . . Amazing. The peanut butter ice cream was delectable. I haven't tried many of the cocktails, ok, just one . . . MOSTly because it was amazing . . . Ginger and rum. Definitely our favourite place in Praha. Make a reservation.
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Food is not bad but portions are small and for the price we paid - we should of been stuffed full and were not! The decor is scant and basic and not too comfortable sitting on wooden benches. Our son did not appreciate the exotic flavours or combinations (he is 15)
google avatar

Pravin M.

Yelp
OK food. Liked most of it. I'm vegetarian, so I think the meat eaters would enjoy it much more.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Out-standing. Everything you want from a delicious and comfortable experience. From the salmon tartar to the pork-belly w/ three pepper sauce, we were continually delighted with every dish. The room is casual yet stylish. And though it's no-fuss, it retains a classy vibe. Service was also casual, but responsive. The flavors were that perfect combination of familiar and new, all the way through to the desserts. Would go back in a heartbeat. Tonight if we could.

Anna Z.

Yelp
Amazing food. Will cater to any allergies or food sensitivities. The 6 course taster make was an experience well worth the price. For the amazing quality and taste of the food the prince was totally worth it. pork belly, smoked trout salad and seafood curry were outstanding. Amazing friendly service as well, 5 stars all around! Highly recommend to anyone

Graham B.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic meal. We really enjoyed every dish. My favorite was the melon salad, but everyone in our party had their own favorite. The dinner would have easily been 2 - 3 times the price in the u.s. the service was also great.

Julie K.

Yelp
5 stars for the sticky toffee pudding, asparagus salad, clams, and steak tartare. All 4 were AMAZING. I would definitely go here again just to order those items...Otherwise, this would probably get 4 stars for me. The soft shell crab was a little heavy. Like the reviewer below me wrote, the watermelon and pork belly was not good. It had WAY too much hoison sauce and was too sweet to eat. We were a little disappointed that our entree was beef and lamb penang. The quality of the meat was wonderful and it was cooked perfectly, but there was no extra oomph to it. Again, we came for dinner so it was a set menu and we didn't get to choose...

Yelp
Paul Day is a genius and, mark my words, he'll get a Michelin star soon. The food is sublime - a beautiful Asian-fusion offering with incredible style and a real knowledge of flavours. The food is as locally-sourced as possible (Mr. Day is a snout-to-tail man), the beer is fantastic, the wine list in wonderful and the service is impeccable. A fun, friendly atmosphere with some of the best food in the entire country at completely reasonable prices. It's a complete restaurant experience. But really, they could have nasty waiters who never bathe and the interior could be a bombed out wreck with a leaky ceiling, and you'd still want to eat this food: salmon sashimi with a sesame oil and lemon juice sauce, incredible slow-roasted pork belly, soft shell crab sliders on a bau bun with wasabi mayo (which is, like, one of the most delicious things you will ever put in your mouth), lamb penang slow cooked for hours and hours, authentic sticky toffee pudding, a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich with green tea ice cream...I mean, I want to eat ALL of it. Go. Go now. And then go again. And the lunch specials are one of the best deals in town.

Yelp
back to Sansho a year later. still delicious. still understated cool. again best meal I've had (so far) on this trip to Europe. even the tap water is tasty, served in a glass pitcher with fresh mint and cucumber strips. six course tasting with guest input on choices. salmon sashimi in a dressing, yes, one can get that anywhere but it doesn't taste like this anywhere. softshell crab sliders: korean steamed bun with wasabi mayonaise, more please. local pork with water melon and hoisin sauce. pulled short ribs penang style with papaya salad and roti. gyoza with black vinegar a bit dry but none left on the plate. they were out of clams and tendon, oh well.... the super nice brit chef-owner tells us that the freshness of the asian ingredients is owed to the Vietnamese community of Prague. two planes fly in weekly. the drinks are good too: water melon vodka cooler and cucumber collins. later, draft beer and rosé. everything served by a young, friendly, unpretentious staff. a deeply satisfying meal. we passed on the sites - sansho alone is worth the trip.

Yelp
I'm not sure where this fits in my list of best restaurants, after being in prague since July on and off my taste of what's a great restaurant has changed. Fact I know the burger at Nase Maso is one of the best burgers you will have anywhere, In & Out, Shake Shack, Apple Pan watch out. Sansho is just awesome, after 3 meals 30 different people, it's unanimous. From the Salad with crispy bits of trout to the pork belly with Gai lan, to the always great salmon tataki. The owner Paul (from Stafford England who sold his butcher shop at 17 to move to London and ultimately work at Nobu and then a Chinese burger, to lee who is from Colorado.) The food is just the best. You know some place is special when it is a tasting whole animal restaurant where you bring 3 vegans and their mouths water after dish and the restaurant makes brand new dishes to achieve the entire dish for dish dinner. A PRAGUE MUST!
