Santa Casa (Mexico City, Mexico) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Tucked away behind a row of potted cacti on a quiet block in Roma Norte, Santa Casa is a boutique hotel steeped in local character. This restored Mexican Colonial Revival-style house, built in the 1930s, still features many of its fine original assets, including a quaint stucco facade with a curved parapet, Baroque spiral columns, and high arched windows that let in abundant natural light. It was once the home of a duchess who regularly hosted lively soirées, and it’s easy to imagine candlelight and the clink of glasses when stepping into the airy lobby with terracotta floors and midcentury modern furnishings. It’s also easy to act like you live here yourself, at least temporarily — there’s no restaurant, pool, or spa, but guests are encouraged to use the hotel’s inviting common spaces, and instead of a traditional reception area, the hotel provides a code to the front door to come and go as you please." - Tablet Hotels

An absolute hidden gem in Roma Norte! Not only is this in a centralized location where walking is feasible and safe, the staff is incredibly nice and communicative. One of the most important aspects to our travel was bag accommodation and Santa Casa by Tasman did exactly that for us. We asked if we were able to leave our bags before check in and after check out, they responded quickly, and kindly allowed us to do so. Furthermore, our room was on the ground level with the window facing the patio (room 7), we personally did not have an issue with noise or privacy (our room had shade rollers for the window). I did read the reviews before booking this place and was a little nervous. However, I’m glad we booked this place and avoided the standard hotel route as this is a beautiful clean boutique hotel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Mexico City 🇲🇽

Wow! What an amazing stay at Santa Casa By Tasman! We went on a birthday trip for my best friend and were welcomed with the best staff. The rooms are so beautiful and clean with everything you need for a perfect stay in Roma Norte. It is in the heart of everything. We especially enjoyed meeting Héctor who felt like a friend in a new city - gave us all the best recs and made us feel so welcomed. I would stay here a hundred more times. Thanks so much to Santa Casa By Tasman!!!!

This is a nice hotel situated in a fantastic spot in Roma Norte neighbourhood. As it’s so central there is quite a bit of noise from the street, but that is to be expected. Some of the details are beautiful such as the huge wooden doors and the big glass windows but then other areas could do with improving, portable air con sticking out the windows, low water pressure in the showers, marks on the walls. There isn’t really a reception area and the rooms are quite bare so it feels more like an apartment in all honesty. Be aware that there is no lift and no porter so you have to carry your bags up the stairs. Looking at the photos I think we got the worst room as it had no windows (which did help reduce the street noise in the end). There’s so much to see in Mexico City that we only slept in the room so it wasn’t a huge problem but it would have been nice to have a sunlit room in the morning. I think a discount should be offered for that room or at least a notice. They did kindly let us leave our bags after check out time until our flight later in the day.

Everything you want for a great price. Excellent location. Simple amenities, clean, helpful staff. Perfect for the traveler that doesn’t need every bell and whistle but covers every need. So much is in walkable distance from the hotel. Plus the staff had no problem watching our luggage as we finished our final day after checkout. Thank you, I will definitely book again when I make it back to Mexico City.

I loved the design and feel of this place. We stayed for 3 nights. They accommodated a very early check in. The room had A/C, very clean, modern, comfy mattress + pillows, with fresh towels and housekeeping daily. Located in the beautiful Roma Norte in walking distance to everything you need. Excellent food spots down this street too. Only issue we had was with the sound coming from the street at nighttime, but they provided earplugs which helped! I recommend this place

Great location at a decent value. The aesthetics and location were great but thats about it. The staff was friendly when they were around. Everything else was just fine. We did have a few disappointments. -Our bathroom smelt pretty badly of sewer most of time. There is also no ventilation in the bathroom so it would stay rather damp in there. -Cheaper Ikea grade furniture in the room wasn’t aging well. - Our code for our room door wasn’t working when we came back to our room after dinner on our first night. No workers were around and no answer on whatsapp. Eventaully the evening shift worker showed up and let us in. Ours whatsapp chat never even got viewed or responded to though which was a bit concerning.

This is a beautiful and charming hotel located in Roma Norte, often considered as one of the best neighborhoods in Mexico City. Making it an ideal base for exploring the city. It’s close to great restaurants, coffee bars, and shops. The only downside is that it can be quite noisy inside the hotel, which can occasionally disturb your sleep. For instance, there’s a dog in the neighborhood that often barks throughout the evening. Additionally, it’s not super clear to guests that they should remain quiet after 10 PM, so you often hear other guests loudly late into the night/early morning. Although, they do provide earplugs and a white noise machine. Despite that, we had a great stay and would recommend it!

Stayed in CDMX at Tasman over New Years holiday. It was a great boutique hotel in an amazing area. Very easily walkable to many restaurants, attractions, etc. The hotel staff greeted us upon arrival and stashed our bags while we walked around until check in. Our room was clean with everything we needed. It was very easy to contact staff thru WhatsApp if something was needed. Our room was cleaned and new towels brought every afternoon. No complaints and would stay here again!
