We came home from Santa Claus holiday village yesterday and to say I’m ready for Christmas is an understatement!|Myself, my teenage son and my 4 year old stayed for 2 nights and had the best time.|This place is absolutely fantastic in every way. It is located practically in Santa Claus village.|The whole area is decorated perfectly for Christmas! Fairy lights absolutely everywhere, even the trees are lit up different colours! And the window light decoration and the Christmas tree outside each cabin is the perfect touch!|We were lucky enough to have had snow the day before we arrived and was still heavy on the ground (which was very lucky for beginning of November!) we checked in with the fantastic reception team, they were fast and very informative, they drew the route on the map so we could find our cabin easily. You can see the archway for the holiday village literally behind reception.|We grabbed a sledge which was free to use for guests and went straight to our cabin (we had 41 which was literally 5 minutes away)|The cabin is stunning! Very good size, kitchenette with a fridge, lots of storage, antler chandeliers and heated floor. They even had an umbrella in the wardrobe.|My favourite thing was the sauna in the bathroom! I absolutely loved this!|The room is very warm! We hardly used the duvets although it was 1°C outside. We didn’t need any extra layers inside. The main front door is connected to the cabin next door with your own door to your room inside. |The shower temperature was perfect too! We had the main bed and the sofa bed set up which my teenager took. Both beds were comfy and we slept very well.|Buffet breakfast is included in the rate and this also did not disappoint, my fussy 4 year old was very happy with the croissants, watermelon, mini choc chip muffins and the iced donuts for breakfast!|We tried a bit of everything, they had a small but good selection for hot breakfast, lots and lots of pastries, different bread for roasting including sourdough as well as cereals and fruit.|There are lots of juices, coffees and hot chocolate too. There was always somewhere to sit and the atmosphere was always great.|There is a children’s play park on the holiday village site too which was a real hit with my 4 year old, this was perfectly located a 2 minute walk from our cabin door.|We did arrive late and majority of the restaurants etc were closed, we walked over the main road to the shell garage for our first meal. The selection over there is fantastic! We had bacon and sriracha fries, a whole pizza and hot dog meal, cost £30! We did come back again for hot dog meals and to top up on drinks for the room. Ask for an English menu and they will happily provide. We did struggle to find water in the gift shops, so we did get all of our water and drinks from here too.|We also ate at santas pizza and burger, the burgers were delicious! My 4 year old loved the chicken nuggets. This is found opposite elves pets, about a 10 minute walk from the cabins.|While here we reindeer sled (highlight of my trip), met Santa, crossed the arctic circle, sent postcards from the arctic circle, went sledging, went to the play park located in Santa Claus village, got some souvenirs, waved at our loved ones from the arctic circle live camera and so much more!|It’s not cheap, but for us it was the trip of a lifetime! Seeing Santa was free but the pictures aren’t.|We used the Menevä Taksi app to and from the airport, it works exactly the same as Uber back home. Airport is literally a 5 minute drive.|And on the last night we were blessed with the northern lights right over our cabin!|Download the Aurora app and you can get a good idea of when to go looking! Use night mode on your camera.|Everyone we met were so lovely! We even made friends while Aurora hunting!|Overall, this is one of the best trips I’ve ever had! I would recommend everyone come here at least once in your lifetime.|Thanks to every single person at SCHV, this place is pure magic!
